I mean sure, there are many potentially dangerous critters.. But none of them actually want to mess with people. So it's really only accidental encounters to be wary of. To limit that I simply stomp when I'm walking in the bush and look out for spiders under things and in wood piles. Ironically, you have more apex predators in your countryside, bears, mountain lions, angry moose, etc. We only have crocs and I'm too far south for those. Funny thing is, I'm cool with snakes and spiders. But I freak out over roaches and grasshoppers lol. And the only things near my property that I'm genuinely concerned by are feral pigs, dogs and humans.
Hey, just since I'm on the subject. Recently I've been struggling to understand why my property has basically no spiders.
Then I discovered some inhabitants that explained it. My property has a healthy little population of a tiny carnivorous marsupial called an Antechinus and they love to eat spiders. So it's really quite cool to not have to worry about every bit of firewood I pick up down there.
I would like to be the Pied Piper and have a bunch of those little guys following me around and eating all the spiders. I would love to have them as pets and let them take care of those creepy bugs. That would be FANTASTIC.
I'm ok with grasshoppers. The creepy spider crickets though.... those need to go.
Also, flying roaches. NO.
When I lived in Hawaii, there was nothing worse than being dive bombed by a giant 3 inch flying roach. It was HORRIBLE!!
Do you think the Antechinus would eat roaches, too?1 -

Daily post
tracking - yes so far, have dinner left
calories - so far so good
exercise - miserable 5 mile run
Ran 9 yesterday and the ankle was sore today. BUT, today was forecasted to be the coolest day of the week (70's and low humidity) so it really was the best day to run. It was tough - still a bit warm and the ankle was definitely sore.
This week's goal to run at least 2 mornings before work, and a long run (10 miles) on the weekend. Currently the weekend weather is looking super hot
I may have had a little too much wine yesterday Have got to get back on track, one day at a time!0 -

Daily Post (Monday)
Goals: Got back into town last night around midnight, didn't get home until around 1, had no food in the house today and zero motivation to do anything in the way of cooking. Had a mountain of laundry to do with my hubby being gone the whole week and my weekend clothes, and had to get groceries so today was my last cheat day of my vacation.
Did really good, only gained 2.6 lbs over the weekend, but I believe that's most likely water weight from the carbs, sadly, I tried to stuff my face but my belly was having none of that, didn't eat nearly as much as I thought I would so it should be easy to get rid of the extra lbs this week. Went to Universal Studios and Seaworld, and they were great. Did 5 miles of walking both Friday and Saturday, Sunday did some museums and then headed to the airport where I spent a lot of time with my fun delayed flight.
Track: Nope.
Calories: No way.
Exercise: None.
Water Intake: Not so much, but did have a few more drinks3 -

Hi Team! Again I apologize for my absence. Craziness everywhere! I have been trying to read some.posts every day. I am sticking to my eating plan, but not tracking super closely. I have been getting workouts in when I can make it and drinking lots of water. My craziness will end in ten days or so...I think I can make it. Tonight though I am heading to help chaperone the grade 8 trip....50 13 years olds....what could go wrong??? Keep up the great work!1
