My IRS refund--first in years--hit my bank today.

Record high of 75 today; tomorrow by the time I come home from work it is expected to be near freezing.

Motivation, wherefore art thou? I don't want to exercise! I'm doing it more for cardiac fitness than anything else.

I've been waiting for the press to dig into this. I'm surprised it took so long. I've represented enough employer in the hospitality industry over the years to know his businesses HAD to have a ton of employees who were illegal. Which is ironic as heck.

Maryanne, I also wondered why it took so long for the press to start investigating this. I’ve heard rumors for years that he employed a lot of illegal aliens at all of his properties, and he is notorious for not paying vendors the contracted amounts agreed to initially by both parties. Underpaying his illegal workforce fits right in with that pattern.

I finished my cake and it turned out well. Hopefully it will taste as good as it looks!

Someone suggested to me that they had to walk a fine line and not "out" these folks. Now that the Trump organization seems to be doing it themselves, it's fair game. I guess that makes as much sense as anything else.

Wow, that cake is gorgeous! You could do cakes professionally. You’re so good. But it probably wouldn’t be as much fun doing it for a living. Your friend will be thrilled.

I had PT today. I was sore after Wednesday session. I had the previous week off because Dan was all booked up. They called with a cancellation later in the week but by then I was in a vacation mode by then. Taking the week off showed me I still have work to do even though I’ made progress.

My first stint in PT I have assigned days and times and I just went.

This time they made appointments week by week almost and it was a struggle to get appointments. Seems like a big step backwards.

Pam--You are a professional baker pretending to be an amateur! Beautiful!

Helene--Taking a week of from PT does result in a minor slowdown but focus upon the progress you have made.

Maryanne--The "tankmates" photo reminds me that I subbed today in a class that has several tanks as the class is into aquaponics.

Thank you! A lot of fresh strawberries went into that cake, lol! It was a big hit, thank goodness. It was a new recipe so I was a bit anxious, but it tasted great and was well received by all of the partiers, as well as the birthday girl.

I’ be been pleased by the consistency of the same therapist each time and that it’s one on one. My appointments were made for the whole six weeks. I don’t always have the same day or time but I either have M/W or W/F. I like afternoon appointments because I’m not a morning person. There is some variation in time slots based on what I want and what Dan has availabile. It’s nice knowing so far in advance when my sessions are. They do it that way during seasons because of the heavier demand for therapy. Initially, I was signed up for six weeks. During the last week, we mutually agreed I needed more sessions. But Dan had already been fully booked that week. I was on the cancellation list and got a phone message that they had a cancellation for Thursday or Friday. I started my second six weeks this week. I may not need the whole six weeks but the time is reserved if I do need it. I like having all my sessions on my calendar. It’s easier to plan other obligations around them.

So now we know, who let the dogs out. Least likely suspect.

In honor of the Grammy's tonight, I've been listening to last year's Grammy CD. One song I glossed over in my listening last year was Pink's "What About Us". Don't know how I missed it. Wonderful voice (although the video is bizarre.) I also love Gaga's "A Million Different Reasons" and Kelly Clarkson's "Love so Soft " (although if I didn't know that was Kelly I wouldn't know that was Kelly) and Little Big Town's "A Better Man". Hopefully I'll find some new favorites on this year's CD.

Got me to thinking. Who's the best female voice still making music today?

But yet isn't that always the Orange Cheeto's "go to"?

Front page of the Baltimore Sun:

Towson University police warn of a woman on the loose, looking for a date for her son

(apparently not for criminal charges; just to get her to stop, LOL!)

When I was a kid I read anything I could get my hands on. No library in our little town. I still clearly remember going with my grandparents to visit relatives in Ohio. Somehow we learned they had all these books up in their attic and we went home with tons of them. I can also still remember a piano teacher coming into our house and being amazed at the books. It wasn't like we had a whole library or anything so heaven only knows how few books she was used to seeing. Anything that gets books to people is a great thing.

There are books all over this house. When/if I ever retire, I should be stocked!
