It is a sunny day after all the storms but more rain is expected for the weekend. I just came in from agging part of the clippings from the shrubbery. I had to take a break. Steps? Right now, as of 10:50am, I am up to 8376 steps.

Pam--I've felt like that cat especially when I don't think the game is fun.

I hate those kinds of exercises at conferences or seminars. I’m so glad I no longer have to do CEU’s every year to keep my license current. It was so rare to find classes that were both informative and interesting year after year.

Today I did a mountain of laundry. I’m mostly caught up now, but will need to do a couple of loads tomorrow for clean sheets and towels. DH doesn’t seem to recall how to run the washer and dryer.

I thoroughly enjoyed my trip, minus the Raleigh airport slumber party, but it’s good to be home. I had hoped that all the walking would offset the calories I consumed, but my hopes were dashed when I got on the scale this morning. I’m up about 6 pounds, so I must begin working immediately to kick them to the curb. I’m hoping some of it is water weight, but I’m afraid it’s not.

For some unknown reason DH has insisted on continuing to do the laundry that he took on when my wrist was broken. BUT he refuses to learn to do it right. Drives me nuts. Today he sheepishly told me one of my good tops was ripped. He thinks the zipper on his jeans might have caught it. What is my top doing in with your jeans? They don't even get dried at the same temperature? Well, hem and haw......

Watching all those episodes of My 600Lb life from its beginning is motivating. Dr. Now needs to give a family discount when the enabler is also obese. It is obvious they are not following the same eating plan as the featured person.

Maryanne, maybe you could keep a separate basket of items you don’t want DH to wash for you. Tell him they need special handling. Remind him of the ripped top. Let him continue with the rest of the laundry. It could be a win-win.
Pam, I’m sure a couple of pounds are water weight. You probably had more sodium than normal from all the restaurant meals. Go back to what you were doing before vacation and I’ll bet you get a nice loss.
I haven’t felt like braving the grocery store yet. We did takeout but split the meal. I bought juice and eggs at Walgreen because they never have a line and the parking is easy. I’ll probably have to go by tomorrow whether I want to or not.

I took a break from the treadmill this week. The shingles isn't horrible but it's taken a lot our of me, I think.

You are right that often the enablers need Dr. Now as much as the actual patient.

Maryanne--Recovering from the shingles is more important right now than time spent on the treadmill. Shingles can cause severe nerve damage.

I sometimes wonder if Dr Now says anything to them about their own weight. Rarely are family member slim. It seems more like a family problem.

I had the Quaker instant oatmeal that is low sugar and AHA approved for breakfast. It is a great 120 calorie option.

I lost 3 pounds last week but I also exercised myself to the tune of over 70,000 steps in the week. Don't think I will be doing that this week as Wednesday I have the scope on my bladder and kidneys to see if the cancer is returning and then on Friday I have a test to eliminate peripheral artery disease or worst, confirm it.

Jean, good luck with the tests. Nice loss with all those steps. I just started logging my food today. I really got off track with the travel. All the driving made my knee pain flare up. I’ll have to get back to the stretching exercises.

Good job on the diet and steps! I'll think good thoughts for your tests to go well!!!!

Having finished cleaning out my freezers (full upright and half of the side by side frig), I'm digging in and decluttering my shelf stable diet food stash. Weeding out the expiration dates, organizing, removing obstacles in front of it, etc. Very, very overdue.

I'm having packet day today. Tomorrow I'm going to do NS shelf stable.

One thing that didn't happen this spring was Jenny Craig folks selling food on ebay after their New Year's resolutions wore off. At least not in any great numbers.

I'll have to take a look at that one once my current stash is gone.

Jean, I’m thinking good thoughts for you as you go through your tests this week.

I’m down 2 1/2 pounds so far, but it is going slower now that the initial water weight is gone. I’ll keep working at it and try to focus on staying consistent. And drinking lots of water. That’s hard for me to remember, but a bit easier during the summer.

Thank you for the good wishes on the tests.

Maryanne--Have fun decluttering the expired diet options. I've never looked at eBay for diet food

Pam--It would be great if we had a weight loss every week like we do when the water loss is involved. I know that is what mine was. Good job!

Jenny called today but I didn't answer the phone. Later I got an email offering the program at $20 for 20 pounds off and the cost of food. I just don't want to spend $150 a week on Jenny's food.

Speaking of emails, I rarely got them from NS when I was ordering. Now, it is almost a daily thing,

Did some outside work today, and then a friend and I made plans to go to Gatlinburg in early October. Waiting for the Surgical Center to call about the time for the procedure tomorrow.

My "goal" weight (normal BMI) happens to be 154. I'm trying to decide which one of those women I'd look like at 154. Probably third from the left unfortunately. LOL!

I continue to make good progress organizing my diet food stash.

At the flea market we did a couple weeks ago I tried selling a few (unexpired) items (things that came in assortments I bought) with no luck, even at prices like 50 cents, so I guess I won't bother with that again. Sort of a shame. Luckily I don't have much that fits in that category.

Who the heck is keeping in office these congressman who pass tax cuts for billionaires and turn around and block emergency relief bills?

This latest dude is from Kentucky? Is Kentucky really so prosperous that they need a congressman who benefits billionaires over our fellow countrymen who are struggling to recover from disasters?
