Had 'brunch' with dad: a fancy crabcake thingy, a very tasty and tender braised shortrib with an egg on top, and a fruit tart.

Interesting that, given the option, I would have continued eating. Probably easily doubling the food. Yet. When considering things. I wasn't actually hungry after the meal. Still am not several hours later. would still eat.

Look at you go, Athijade! Congratulations.

Us humans are certainly weird with our eating, PAV. Not just humans I guess. I know my pup would carry on eating way beyond her need for nutrition.

I guess it was just for survival. Whomever designed us didn't know there would come a day when our bigger health problem would be too much access to food!

Off to the land of The Boy in a few hours (hopefully will sleep a bit between now and then). "See" you all in a week :) (not expecting to get a lot of screen time/good connection there - but who knows?)

Today was supposed to be a gym day but I just wasn’t feeling it. Headache, congestion, back pain - from where who knows?
So I spent the day pushing through the discomfort by doing chores. Actually feel better tonight. It was kind of exercise......

Getting sick would not be ideal :hushed:

Nope not really sick just kind of not myself. I’ve been very unmotivated lately. Not completely giving in to bad habits but not working very hard on maintenance. So far the scale isn’t screaming at me but I do need to get it together soon.

wait a second! You said: "headache, congestion, back-pain" This might not be sick sick. But it certainly sounds discombobulated. As to the rest of it... snap out of it! maintenance is good. And there's nothing to be "feeling" to at the very least keep going on that! /end yelling!

Hey kiddo when you’re over 75 aches and pain are a daily fact of life. There are no “jump out of bed and take on the day” moments. When the daily creaks and groans accumulate, then I can say I’m not feeling well. Otherwise I just push forward because there’s not going to be magical turning back the clock. Hopefully you’ll all get there someday!

Hmm.... I think I agree with you in terms of the hopefully part kind forward explorer! 😝

I've been threatened with traditional sweets as certain cultures are nearing the end of their month of fasting. In the meanwhile chocolate eggs were at half price....

Well you can’t refuse neighborly generosity. Say thanks and portion it out. Don’t even look at those half price chocolates! 😋

144g down--but it's over TWO days, not just one and just 362+158+100g left to go!

    (but they're half price, right?)

If only those half price chocolates were half the calories too! Luckily hubby got to the stores too late. The early birds had bought up all the better chocolates. Shelves were bare - except for jelly beans and Skittles neither of which were purchased.

I’m trying to pack for our trip to Ohio next week. Texas is in the 80s. But Ohio will be low 40s to mid 70s! Roller coaster weather. What to pack? It seems no matter what I take I always miss my closet. 🥴

You could go the extra suitcase route and pack the closet?!?!?!
Probably not the smartest thing to do though!

I know, I know……. Just seems I can never get the packing right. The weather never seems to cooperate either. You must know hubby! Layers, layers is his mantra.

Hope the weather in Vancouver is better today PAV! It’s the wet coast after all so ….

I’ve done overpacking for the trip to Ohio. We leave at O-Dark Thirty tomorrow morning. Hopefully the connections work out and no crazies on the plane. I’ll try to check in as I can over the week. Laurie should be getting back soon too.

I miss Laurie too. We need a report.

Southwest Airlines had a ground stop while we changed planes in Chicago. So several hours were spent sitting on the runway while Southwest tried to fix their nationwide computer glitch. It’s been a long long day.

Hello all! I'm back from the land of rock and bog. Fortunately my super duper lost cost flights ran without a hitch. I hope the rest of your trip runs more smoothly, Yooly.
It was wonderful seeing my son/daughter-in-law/THE BOY. Reassuring how familiar everything felt. We fell back into our routine which is pretty beautiful <3 he is lankier, a little saucier, even more cuddly and he can read pretty darn well! What a difference five months makes even though so much stays the same.
The furry four legged girl was awfully happy to be home. First time I've left her for more than one night and that was only once. She was excited and wiggly to see me - but went out of her mind when we got home. Ran in circles, bounced and bowed and barked and of course demanded supper :)
This less furry two legged girl is happy to be home, too. Still a little shell shocked :) at the prospect of going to go visit (that sounds so much nicer than having an appointment) the C surgeon this afternoon. Despite it feeling like it wasn't "a real thing" this past week - it still is. The post surgery biopsy report was posted over the weekend and from my layperson's reading it looks like overall great news - no cancer in the lymphatic system - woohoo!!! - it is still contained in that left boob - which I think means no chemo??? So I get to keep my fur :) But it doesn't seem they took enough off. No "clean margin" - which probably means another surgery??? (just as I'm starting to feel kind of almost healed and almost able to have a bath :) )And then radiation???
    I'll find out come 3 o'clock.
I'm going to be smart and plan a decent supper for post-visit. Something fun and not too low calorie - but not bingey either. Maybe a falafel sandwich :) or maybe even a falafel plate with some rice and salad!!!!!!

We had summer for a few days while I was gone. Here in Hamilton it hit close to 90 degrees! I missed it though and it is back to winter at 33 degrees this morning :)

Sure as kittens we don't want nasties involved with our lymphs so that's excellent news!!!!

Welcome back Laurie! We missed you. The trip to Newfoundland was just what you needed.
Do what you need to do to get all this behind you. It’s not fun but will give you some peace of mind.
