    GOAL 5 MILES A DAY when no workout
    8/1 Workout #163 building fence 2 hrs. 1.5 miles and lifting fence panels. burned 1,379 calories doing 120 minutes of Yard Work
    8/2 burned 648 calories doing 150 minutes of Carpentry, general Workout # 164 2.5 hours siding house. Way to hot out to be doing that. 98 degrees
    8/3 Workout #165 5 hours siding house. Burned 1,297 calories doing 300 minutes of Carpentry, general
    8/4 Workout # 166 1st was 1 hr & 20 Mins of grocery shopping and putting everything away. 502 Calories burned. 2nd was 1 hr of helping Kevin outside before it got to hot. 259 Calories burned. Total Calories burned 761.
    8/5 Workout #170 3 Walk off the Pounds miles & 1 Mile working August Miles 13.24 2019 miles 882.59 First day of work was all about learning the computer. So only got 1 mile in at work felt I really needed a workout too. So after dinner jumped right in there.

    DURATION 40:00 KCAL 460 When I say I am cleaning space it is storage units sweeping walls doors and floors from 5'X5' to 20'X40' so I am considering that a workout using upper and lower body parts. Weigh in tomorrow
    8/11 Workout #176 2.5 hours out in Texas heat siding house and building fence. I got sunburned (not to bad just pink). 1724 calories burned and lots of sweat.

    @Deeder522, it's looking like you are meeting both your mileage goal as well as your Apple Watch award!

    @knjstolt, you have had an amazing month including getting your workouts in, starting a very active/ intensive new job, and still working on some tough outdoor projects! You go 🏃‍♀️ girl!

    My revised goal for August is to continue to be active in some way at least 5 days a week while adding in some Leslie miles and outdoor walks as tolerated, as well as continuing other things like yard and garden etc to keep me moving, while allowing my knee to continue to heal.

    August 1: 15 minutes Gazelle, 1 hour in the garden
    August 2: 2 hours yard & garden
    August 3: 1 1/2 hour potting plants, 1 hour+ Home Depot

    August 4: Rest Day
    August 5: 30 min outside walk, 1 1/2 hour yard & garden
    August 6: 2 hours garden & potted plants
    August 7: 20 min outside walk, 1 hour indoors cleaning etc
    August 8: 2 hours yard & garden
    August 9: 2 hours yard & garden
    August 10: 1/2 hour garden & some errands

    August 11: Rest Day
    August 12: 1 hour in the yard
    August 13: 75 minutes yard & garden
    August 14: 2 1/2 hours in the garden & with the potted plants
    August 15: 2 1/2 hours in the garden & with the potted plants, also grocery shopping
    August 16: 3 hours yard and cleaning, including mopping the floors
    August 17: a much needed extra rest day

    August 18: Rest Day
    August 19: LS 1 mile: Classic Mile, 5 Day Slim Down, 1 hour 15 minutes in the yard & garden.
    August 20: 1 mile, 5 Day Slim Down, 2 hours+ errands/ grocery shopping
    August 21: 1 1/2 yard & garden
    August 22: 1 mile, 5 Day Slim Down, 15 minutes outdoors walking
    August 23: 2 miles, 5 Day Slim Down, 2+ hours the walking portion of errands etc.
    August 24: 45 minutes outdoors walking

    August 25: Rest Day
    August 26: 3+ hours included garden, cleaning, working on the laundry/ pantry
    August 27: 3 miles, 5 Day Slim Down
    August 28: 90 minutes working on the laundry/ pantry & cleaning
    August 29: 5 Walk Blasters, 30 minutes garden
    August 30: 1 mile, 5 Day Slim Down, 35 minutes outdoors walking
    August 31: 30 minutes garden, 20+ minutes errand

    Well, August was a total bust! I thought my knee was OK because it worked just fine when I did the Heart Healthy Walk, the day I fell, but when I woke up the next morning, I was black and blue and all swelled up from my knee to to my ankle!!! :explode: So, off to the MD I went and there was nothing torn or broken, but I had a "severe hematoma," which is MD talk for a dynamite bruise! He told me to stop the walking and instead swim as the cold water would help the swelling and the swimming would help reduce the bruise. Do you know how many miles you log swimming???? NONE!!!! :grumble: However, the good news is that the bruising is just about gone and I only have a little discomfort left if I push on it so I am back to walking!! In more good news, my DH felt so terrible he picked up all of his construction debris and moved everything in the family room to the garage while the workers were there. I just love it when a man feels guilty! :laugh:

    It was wonderful to read that so many of you are losing pounds and inches!!! I am also heartened to hear that so many of you dislike strength training! It seems almost everyone on the MFP boards talk about how much they love lifting and strength training and dislike aerobics. I could never figure out the thrill of lifting a bar with two heavy balls on each end over my head! :noway: What is the point???? :laugh:

    Anyway, I am back to walking strong for September!

    @zichab, thank you for your update post. Oh, no, that is a very bad bruise! Bet your leg/knee turned all sort of splotchy yucky shades of blue/green as time went on 😧😥. But so happy nothing broken. LOL about the guilt inspired construction site cleanup :laugh:

    Happy that you are back to walking strong again!!

    Yes, I'm also in the don't like strength exercise camp. But I do have to up my game in that department. "Someday" is just not coming around very often... at all.
