I have clothes in my closet ( many still with tags on them ) from size 14 to size 26/28 , 3x and 4x....I have gotten rid of so many clothes thru the years, I could dress entire families....then I would have to replace them....maybe there used to be less heavy people when it was more difficult to buy nice bigger clothing that fits...you couldn’t gain weight or you would have nothing to wear....now try to get that image out of your head lol3

I used to make my own clothes when I was younger as I could never find anything to wear, and I wasn't as big as I am now so I think you make a good point.3

My most recent NSV: My belly is now below (though barely) the edge of the bathtub when I take a bath! It's been a long time, but it was exciting to notice it last night!3
-
NSV for this morning: With deliberation and consideration, decided that my "normal" breakfast of milk and cereal was perfectly fine for starting my day and that eating breakfast at the company cafeteria was not the calorie choice I wanted because I didn't need it and know that on Saturday I will be hosting a large Oktoberfest party with my husband - which is where I need to budget / plan for calories.
Hand-in-hand with this decision was the re-commitment to walking to my PT appointment and not driving, even though it would be easier, even though I had on cute sandals and I would now have to carry into the office my tennis shoes and socks......here I go - walking to that appointment!4 -
My NSV today was a pretty big one for me. I completed Couch to 5k Week 5 Day 3, which is a 20 minute run with no walk breaks. I've been nervous about it for weeks, thinking I wouldn't be able to do it without extra time to prepare -- repeating previous workouts. But I did it!
My grin moments after my C25k app told me it was time for my cooldown walk.

merph518 that is great and you look amazing...I saw your “ before” picture with your daughter at the zoo I think ...it was in an older post....I have been reading a lot of past posts....your transformation is like a cocoon becoming a butterfly!...and you look so happy and proud of yourself....I wish I could give you a hug lol4

@merph518 .. congratulations! Your grin says it all!😁4

@merph518 Way to nail it! Go you! As @conniewilkins56 mentioned above, "you look so happy and proud of yourself"! Hugs to you!2

Thanks guys!2

Nice work @merph518.
I had one yesterday. For the first time ever someone thought that I had to be getting close to goal. I am still a fair distance away but it was nice mistake for someone to make. From the chest up I look much different than the waste down which I keep covered with my tent-like shirts.
I think my true size is 2xl which is pretty amazing to me too. I have some 3xls that I have refused to wear because they don't cover my belly area well enough but they may be necessary post-op because of the swelling.
Wife hates the tents but I wore one that didn't quite cover last Friday and I caught 4 different people doing double-takes and staring down there. One whispered to a friend who also checked me out. I look terrible in the tents. I look terrible without the tents plus people stare... I will stick to the tents.1 -
Nice one @merph518 you're determination is paying off
That's a really nice NSV @NovusDies My fat loss is from random area's and symmetry isn't a thing which surprises me. My belly frustrates me but a curious one is below my knee and just above my shin - a hand sized squishy fat ball that so far has refused to budge. Makes it impossible to wear the correct size trousers and leggings just highlight the weirdness of my leg. And people stare!! My husband is very comfortable politely asking people if they've bought a ticket haha2 -

I understand that people do not see a person like me very often so I am not offended or do I feel really bad when I get stares but I do not wish to invite it unnecessarily. I have never seen anyone in my daily life, not even strangers, that carried their weight so heavily in the front. Since I am accustomed to staring I do not return the favor with other larger people but I think it would catch my eye. Now that I have lost so much weight I have managed to become more unusual in appearance.
I think that is another reason I wanted to start this group. I am sick of being unusual for losing a bunch of weight. I want it to be a common thing. When someone hears I lost 200+ pounds I want them to interrupt me and start talking about their friend, or aunt, or father that did the same thing. I don't want them interested in me because I am some sort of unicorn.
Obviously there are plenty of people who have done it but as far as I can tell it remains uncommon. It should not be. We just need for more people to engage in sensible and sustainable plans.7 -
I have this keyboard tray when I am in my recliner to work after hours or post. At my heaviest I could not pull it that far back so I always hunched forward. Unbelievably I have been doing this even during my weight loss and it hurts my back after a time. I JUST now realized I can sit back and pull the tray to me.
I am SLOW to learn apparently!5 -
Okay this is an odd nsv, but I thought if any of my groups would get it, it’s you all. I have bones in my hands and a bit of a collarbone. As in I can see them now. Also, I need a new shoes because mine are now too big.
Of course I wish my belly would go, but I’ll take it.5 -
Those are nice NSV’s.1

You would guess correctly that this group would get it. Good for you... and I hope new shoes are not too expensive.2 -
I have one too that this group will get.....I clipped my toenails without huffing and puffing...I did not have to perform contortionist acts to do this!6
-
Yeah, I've had a similar one in the past few months. So much easier to lean forward and tie my shoes while seated now.
I've also noticed a lot more room between the steering wheel and my stomach/legs in the car. Restaurant booths went from just fitting in them to being completely comfortable with some space to spare.5 -

I haven't tried this yet. Pedicures were on my "be kind to myself" list so I would not have to face that challenge for a time while losing. I suppose next time I should do it myself.
My toenail related NSV though is that the chair I sit in to get the pedicure was horribly uncomfortable initially. I almost wondered if it was less kind to myself for awhile. It is not great yet but much more doable.1 -
Lol....I usually get pedicures too but I stubbed my toe last night and broke my toenail so I thought I should clip it...I went ahead and did the rest of them and saved a little money until next week!1

Before this group I felt so alone in my booth obsession. The steering wheel thing is something I think I have measured with my hand at least 50 percent of the time I drive.0 -
Spring weather here has gone nuts. I set out for my walk in thunder and rain. Grabbed my raincoat. Halfway through my walk I realised it was my old raincoat that didn't fit me a few months ago. I put it on and zipped it up without even thinking. Three months ago it didn't even meet up over my front let alone zip up! So so happy.8

Restaurants have always been my big fear too, I used to pretend to be claustrophobic so I could avoid them - I can fit in them now so it isn't a problem, however nobody has asked how I cured myself...... bless them
Steering wheels were definately another, I can't remember which car I once test drove but it kept hitting my knees as my legs were so fat. My current car has a steering wheel that goes up and a seat that goes down to give maximum clearance.1 -
On a whim I just tried on some jeans a size down (48) and they fit. A little loose even. I have been wearing a 50 in the same brand for about a month now (over my stomach, I don't care for wearing pants below it).
Just ordered a couple more pairs of the same brand in 44 and 46, as I seem to have a dearth of pants in that size range.6 -
Good job Merph!...I have some slacks I need to try on but if they don’t fit I will not be happy so I am waiting a couple more weeks!0

I do that. I put things off because I would rather be patient than be disappointed. I am kind of ridiculous though. I have kept a leather jacket that I bought 25 years ago and I have been too big to wear for over a decade. I refused to get rid of it because it was very expensive and I hoped I would eventually wear it again. I kept putting off trying it on convinced it wasn't time yet. I finally did it and it fit perfectly! Trouble is I waited too long and it was Spring and never cool enough to wear it. By the time it is cool enough again it will be way too big on me. I am at myself over it.
I wish that was the only example of being too patient...
No moral to the story. I am just an idiot sometimes.3 -
LoL...I have done exactly the same thing!...it’s so disheartening to be disappointed in yourself....you aren’t an idiot....you just don’t want to set yourself up for failure....we are always harder on ourselves than on others!...1

I do the cooking in our house and my husband and two boys share the chores of cleaning the kitchen and doing the dishes. Yesterday I prepared dinner, went for a walk and got totally soaked in a storm. Came home and had a bath then finished off some work before bed. I've just got up and made coffee for breakfast, and seen my dinner all nicely wrapped on a plate in the fridge. I forgot to eat dinner. I logged it but didn't eat it. My youngest just did what he usually does when someone is late home and put dinner aside then finished the dishes. So now I have lots of calories in the bank for the weekend! I was a little hungry, but I'm used to ignoring that now, so didn't think anything of it.4

I am actually not that hard on myself. Sometimes I just like confessing to doing stupid things because no matter how smart a person is idiotic actions are still going to happen. I am hoping someone will get a chuckle out of my jacket situation.2 -

I love banked calories!! Yours might be a more unusual system of banking them though.1
