    @nstephenson01 I have stayed on plan all day. Have you? You were in my thoughts. We’re doing this together. Ran 30 minutes after work, ate an apple, skipped dinner and spent the evening organizing my fall clothes closet. It looks so nice. I’m in bed. Very proud that I had such a great self-care day. Hoping to color a star tomorrow. I too love jigsaw puzzles. I will share pics.

    I am so tired! I am heading to bed! Not sure when I will be able to get on here tomorrow. I have my xray early, then I need to run home and do a few things than out to get my nails done and then go get MK for her appointment. I feel like all I do is drive anymore. I will be on here at some point tomorrow. It just may not be right away.

    @Mrsbell8well Great idea to organize your fall clothes to not only distract you but also get you excited for all the cute outfits you can wear! That salad looks awesome! I remember you doing puzzles when the weather was cooler last year too!
    @nstephenson01 What a good idea to do a puzzle especially when the weather keeps you inside. Stay safe and warm my friend. Leslie is a great way to get exercise and steps in when you are stuck inside. I love that activity pyramid. I never saw anything like that before for exercise!
    @pacsnc6 Wow! What an awesome pic! I love that you had someone stand in for the missing sister! How often do you get together? I always wanted a sister and you have 6 of them! Lol! My mom had 4 sisters and I have 3 daughters. They always roll their eyes when I say I always wanted a sister Lol! I hope you don't get whatever is going around.
    @Cafelelia My daughters have the apple watch. I think you can have "friends" on there. I know they check in on each other to see how much they have done during the day. I think William's girlfriend they do stuff with too. Between you and them, I am going to start looking into them. I am glad that you are building your steps back up and they are pain free. I can't wait until I am there. I am glad you son is feeling better.
    @tryingagain5 I am glad at least you have a plan to go forward with your back. I hope you get some relief soon. I hope you have a good night at work.
    @phoebe112476 That is basically a maintain. I hope all is going well.

    @sleepymom5

    Some days I do manage to do well and others I struggle. Haven't really figured out why I do that. Night shift is hard. I'd rather be sleeping in the middle of the night.
    You're welcome. I hope you're daughter will start having better days.

    @Mrsbell8well
    Sorry about all your health and work issues. Hoping things get better with both of these things.

    You're welcome! I'm not very good at making myself feel good but I've always been better at encouraging other people. A weight issue is difficult, we can't avoid food.

    Tuesday check in

    Food - logged & on target
    Exercise - 8396 steps
    Water - 1.5 l

    I have a lot to do today to get ready to travel tomorrow. I did a lot of food prep on Sunday, not only for me, but the entire family. It feels like shopping, planning, prepping and cooking is a full time job, especially with a teen in the house. Teaching the kids to cook has been paying off as my 13 year old can cook or reheat his own meals when I am swamped. Now, we just need to get him to cook for all of us too! I will check in while I am away.

    @Mrsbell8well - You are well on your way to your goal! You meal looks so delish!

    @GingerPwr - You were 148 last week, so that is a 2 lb loss! Congratulations!

    @phoebe112476 - That’s a maintain, and you remain in the 150’s, which is great!

    @sleepymom5 - That meme is exactly how I feel today! Good luck with your xray and I hope that you can get this issue resolved sooner rather than later. It does feel like you are driving a lot! Have a look at the Apple Watch. Aside from the convenience (eg. Emails, apps, phone), the exercise and health components have really worked for me so far. My Garmin is great for running and training, but these other metrics on the Apple Watch are really nice, particularly when you have an injury and cannot focus on steps. I am not really using the social aspect yet, but plan to do that a bit once I am more established.

    @tryingagain5 - I hope that you back feels better soon and sounds like a good plan with your chiropractor!

    Quick check in between appointments.
    Tuesday check in
    Food - logged & way over
    Exercise - Walk 15 min and stationary bike 15 min. over 7K steps. PT exercises, arms and stretching
    Water - 80oz
    Good day yesterday until the evening. Ate way too much before bed. I just gave in to myself. I do that way too often. Had the best exercise day I have had in a while. I have to run, I have a lot going on today. I will check back in later.

    @GingerPwr Nice loss! I am glad you have a good day under your belt! :)
    @Mrsbell8well Nice job! Btw-my son's wedding is the 23rd of November too!
    @tryingagain5 I was ok with night shift until recently. I just couldn't sleep before and then slept too much after . Ugh! My hat is off to you nightshift workers.
    @Cafelelia I am amazed how well you do even with how busy you are! You are inspiring! Safe travels and good luck to your son and his team!

    You all know what tomorrow is...Halloween. Just checking in if anyone is worried about going off track? Any plans? I am not worried. I have been snacking way too much lately so I know I can not have any chocolate in the house. I bought individual packs of goldfish and will hand those out. Thank goodness my kids are too old to trick or treat. This used to be a very difficult time of year for me.

    @sleepymom5 so sorry your daughter is going through this! I have anxiety, not as bad as her, but it is awful! My friend from college that I had lunch with on Saturday was telling me how both her boys suffer from it, it affects so many people. I hope she feels better! I agree with you, if she knows alcohol can aggravate it, she should really not drink, but it's hard when you are around all your friends, hanging out & they are drinking. Hang in there!

    I hope your knee feels better! xo

    Daily Check in: Tuesday
    Food: Pre-logged, ate on plan
    Water: Good
    Exercise & steps: Bowflex intervals, shoveled snow; 7,568 steps which I feel is pretty good considering the weather

    Pre-planning my food for the day, sticking to my plan, drinking my water and moving each hour even if its only for 250 steps seems to be working as I'm down 2 pounds so far. Much of it is water but its super motivating nonetheless. Second day doing 10:14 IF. 8:16 wasn't sustainable for me at the time. Its 1 degree this morning.... I thought 5 degrees yesterday was cold LOL. Guess there's not much difference. The sun is shining tho which makes everything better. Hope to get out for at least a short walk. Just trying to stay focused, take one day at a time but also keep Thanksgiving in sight and imagine what I want to weigh on that day.

    What a lovely picture of your family @pacsnc6!!!

    @cafelelia You are such a busy mom! Glad you continue to be pain free!

    @tryingagain5 Sounds like you found a Chiropractor that can help you. Its nice that he's not pushing treatment on you but letting you choose what you're comfortable with. And remember self talk is important. Think about how you would encourage someone else and turn it onto yourself. Its hard to do but so necessary for success.

    @mrsbell8well I have stayed on plan all day! I didn't skip dinner.... that's not for me but I'm eating well. You are on my mind as well. Going to make my star chart next but it won't be as pretty as yours.

    @sleepymom5 hugs momma. Being tired is a recipe for failure. I just want to eat anything and everything when I'm exhausted.

    Nice loss @GingerPwr! Seems like you're on a good streak.

    Welcome back @kirsten11872 :smiley: You have had success in the past so I'm confident you can do it again. So much of weightloss is all in the mind.

    OMG OMG OMG @cyndiesstuff I just saw your post!!!! You have been on my mind so much and missed! Welcome back lady!!!! OOh happy dance!!!

    Halloween used to be difficult as I'm a huge chocoholic. Plus the trick or treaters would be out in full force before I even got home from work so no chance to get organized or cook dinner. It was always a night of constantly answering the door so dinner would be whatever we could scrounge up. Now we live so remotely we don't get anybody. YAY! Hubby wanted some candy but I bought him some that doesn't tempt me. HOWEVER tomorrow night I get to watch my undefeated San Francisco Forty-Niners play (we don't get many Niner games up here) which seems like a great opportunity to celebrate with snacks and cocktails. They've been so bad for so long. Its hard to shed the habits left from the good old days of tailgating and football parties. I need to create a plan for tomorrow night so I don't get off track!!

    Happy Wednesday everyone. @nstephenson01 I can't believe its only 5 degrees and snowing! Its rainy and 40's here but dropping to the 30's for Halloween - I feel bad for the kids. Monday was beautiful and 65 and I thought what a nice day THAT would have been for trick or treating!

    So I wasn't very good yesterday - the food choices were good - but the quantity was bad! I've just been having an issue with non-stop hunger these last few weeks. It sucks!!!! I try to drink more to help fill me up - but it just doesn't seem to do the trick. But it is a day at a time

    @sleepymom5 I actually did make myself a big batch of oatmeal yesterday to try to fill that non-stop hunger! And definitely, there is life after knee pain and surgery. I actually have had surgeries on both knees, both hips and back surgery when I was 40. My hip doctor told me that based on my x-rays I should have been in a wheelchair, but he said that I was a testament to the fact that exercise is good for the body. At the time I had my hips replaced I was doing dance 3-4 days a week and Crossfit 3 times a week. I was back dancing within 2 weeks of having my hips replaced, and back doing high intensity interval training about 3 months after. I had to slow things down a bit because my balance was off a little, but I kept moving.

    @kirsten11872 - So great to hear from you and glad that you are bouncing back! This is a journey & there are ups & downs, so slumps can definitely happen. I did not know that you are doing IF too, and I am really liking it so far. You are going great and keep going!!

    @nstephenson01 - Stick to that plan! 10:14 IF works for me too. We may get snow here next week, so I will be joining you in shovelling! Have fun watching the forty-miners & a plan for tomorrow is a great idea!

    @tryingagain5 - You are right, that is a little bump and a maintain. With you back issues this week, maintaining is an achievement!

    @sleepymom5 - Thank you for the Halloween post. I have a plan and that will be to enjoy 2 treats, probably those small chip bags that I love so much. I worry about my kids too at this time of year. I discourage them from going to too many houses, and take away (ie. compost) any remaining candy after a few days. It may sound tough, but I don’t want them eating so much sugar for weeks.

    @lennoncpa - The non stop hunger is a challenge. I was going to suggest drinking more water, but looks like you are doing that. It is one day at a time. With all of your dancing, it is hard to believe that you had a hip replacement!!

    @Cafelelia
    Yes, that's what I was thinking. It was too hard to do a decent workout with a back issue. Maintaining was a great thing.

    @nstephenson01
    Yes, I'm glad the chiropractor lets his patients decide. It makes me feel like I'm part of my treatment. He's such a casual and laid back guy, it's hard to think of him as a doctor. At my appointment today, I asked him what I should call him: Dr. (his last name) or Dr. (his first name). He laughed and said he's been called lots of worse things than his actual names. He said it was up to me so I told him I'd call him Dr. (his first name) As we were talking and walking back to the lobby, he put his arm around my shoulder, which shows me that he cares about his patients.
    The treatments are so quick but seem to be helping already.

    You are also right when you say self talk is important. Not sure why I'm so good at encouraging others. I do need to work on being encouraging to myself.

    So, my xray showed some degenerative changes and a bone spur under my knee cap. Nothing really bad. She doesn't think the bone spur is what is bothering me. She still thinks it is inflammation of my ligament and meniscus. So the plan is to rest, ice, elevate, ibuprofen and wear a knee brace. If I don't see improvement in a week, then I will probably go to PT. She also suggested those lidocaine patches for when I sleep and they have helped a lot.

    I, like @lennoncpa have had a week that I am just so hungry. That happened this afternoon, I was hungry, then I over ate, then I don't eat because I overeat, then I get hungry, then I overeat...I am thankful that I am doing better mentally than last week but I am also frustrated that I have been struggling with this for so long. I will just get back at it right now, not tomorrow. I need to figure this hunger out. It is ok to be hungry, I am not going to starve.

    Tomorrow I have a day I don't have to go ANYWHERE!! I have so much to do around the house so I am very happy to have this time. I need to get started with the fall cleaning, I don't have a lot of time, the wedding is 11/23. I also need to get a little weight off before then too. I am worried about how the back of the dress will look...

    @kirsten11872 I am so glad to hear you are feeling motivated and back on track! I say it all the time but when you are focused you do so well! I am so glad that you are feeling good! Thanks for the kind words about MK, I never realized how many people have anxiety.
    @cyndiesstuff OMG!!! YES!!! We have missed you! I am so happy you are coming back! I am doing the happy dance too! Six lbs isn't bad at all. I know you are going to get that weight off! Hope all is going well. :)
    @nstephenson01 Sounds like you are in a good routine with the weather already being so cold. We don't get a ton of trick or treaters either because we are on a main road but there are always a few so we have to have something. It is nice not to have the temptation though. Enjoy your 49ers game. You can totally have a good time and enjoy some snacks. Maybe look up some heathy ones that you would enjoy. You seem to be creative in the kitchen. I just saw a commercial for that game. They are playing the Cardinals. I actually know a player on the Cardinals. His parents are our friends and neighbors at the shore. (They are a lot of fun, they are actually some of the people that I need a better plan with when I am with them lol!) He's on the offensive line, number 67.
    @tryingagain5 Yes, that is basically maintaining. No worries-just keep doing what you have been doing, you got this!
    @lennoncpa That is awesome! You are in such great shape, I would have never known that you had hip, knee and back issues! Keep plugging away with the hunger. I had such a bad week last week that I didn't care, I do care this week but really am hungry. Ugh! But you are right, one day at a time...
    @Cafelelia It is too much for the kids. Mine had more then they ever could eat. Good plan to have a limit on what you are going to indulge in. :)
    @ljdanny How is the little one doing? I know it isn't easy but I am sure it is wonderful! What a great idea to get into the habit of exercising earlier when the time changes. I should do that too. Sounds like you have a great plan! You got this girl!!
    @tryingagain5 Isn't it funny how you start almost craving a workout when you haven't done one in a while. It sounds like you are in good hands with your trainer. I am sure they know what exercises to do that won't aggravate your back.

    As Teresa posted above, this week’s challenge is about trigger foods, and that fits in well with this month’s discussion on overeating. Halloween is next week for many of us, and it is a great time to think about trigger foods and start planning. Do you plan to have some Halloween candy? Do you plan to abstain? What happens when your co-workers bring in all of their Halloween left overs the day after?

    My trigger food is chips, particularly at Halloween time. Those little bags just seem so harmless! I have to travel for my son’s hockey tournament on Halloween, so being out of my routine will make things even more challenging. We are staying at my mom’s house though, so I can avoid restaurant foods all 4 days, except for the team dinner on the Saturday. I am still deciding whether I have a Halloween treat this year, or not. My kids usually bring home way more than they can ever eat, so their Halloween haul is tempting. I am going to think about it and decide closer to the time.

    Some handy charts are attached for common Halloween candies. Apologies if the candy photos are tempting, but most of us will see this stuff very soon.
