Despite running 6.6 miles on Sunday & walking 6 yesterday, I pretty much took out a bag of TJs corn chips over 2 days, & today I'm 154. 😕😔5

Oh, yeah, & I've been eating small buckets of chocolate chips at night...4

It's Tuesday!
We have no weigh-ins today, it's the full moon, and the great outdoors beckons. Aiming for 5 miles today - and a good session of frog listening while staring at my little kitchen garden that I planted with those amazing early plants like arugula, lettuces, kale, and chard. I will sing it songs the way Toad does in one of my favourite children's book series - Frog and Toad. I will read it poetry. I will dance around it. Seeds will germinate.

Happy Tuesday!
We are finally having a good run of nice weather and it has been great to get outside more. I ate a lot of carbs and packaged food while I was sick. Many of them had sugar too. This week I am focused on:
Spending time outside
Eating whole foods
Reducing my sugar intake significantly
Starting my traditional workouts up again
Stress management
Hopefully I will get back into my normal routine and drop some pounds. Feels like it has been a while since I have had successive losses.
@mathewsfive I think fruit is always healthy but depending on how many carbs you eat a day could be a ton of fruit. Are you trying to switch to more whole food carbs? Lots of whole grains, fruits and vegetables could work if that's your goal.
@jugar Lucky you with the frogs. Ours are not up yet but hopefully soon!
@terytha Glad you got into the gym. It is hard having our routines changed so much. I definitely feel the mood swings with all the craziness going on. One minute I feel fine, the next minute I want to cry. I'm really having to remind myself to be positive.
@deniers2 The snacks are so hard to stay out of. I am working on that this week. I'm trying to make well balanced and filling meals to help me stay satisfied...hopefully and out of the snacks. Hope you make some progress in this area too!5 -
Talk-It-Out Tuesday – Need to vent about anything? Reply with hugs or suggestions to what others posted. (you don’t need to save the venting for just Tuesday’s – let us know at any time!)
This is something we did when I first joined this group over a year ago and since we’ve been kind of quiet, I thought perhaps it could inspire us to post. We know everyone is dealing with a life we’ve never seen before, so if you want to chat, go for it. If not, we totally understand.
My big accomplishment for today was coming up with a pipe cleaner tool I created to get this gross dust(I’m talking dust bunnies) out from between my oven glass. It has driven me crazy for a long time. I was quite proud of myself. Then I was able to remove all this baked on crud on the glass with a trusty razor blade and cleaning solution. Not exciting for most people in the world, but I felt pretty good about it. Worked up a sweat too. Having a healthy salad for lunch and then planning some Pilates in a bit.
Hope everyone is doing well.4 -

OK @micki48, there I was reading your post when what you said above struck me SO funny! You went from removing "baked on crud" to having "a healthy salad for lunch." I immediately thought, "What did she do, make a salad from the baked on crud?" LOLOL
Let's just call it my shelter-in-place craziness! LOLOL

In other news, I did a total of 10 Leslie Sansone miles yesterday for the first time in my life! I feel amazing! I got in almost 20,000 steps yesterday altogether. I'm especially proud of the fact that I actually planned my workouts for this week (Monday-Friday). (I wrote out my plan on Saturday evening.) Who knew having a definitive plan actually works?! LOLOL7

Got home from work yesterday and made dinner, then took the pups for a walk... the big one gets very tired very easily when it's warm out, and even though it was only 68 -he was panting like crazy so it wasn't a long one... He has to build up his stamina... He is a great Pyr mix, He is also 100lbs and extremely furry, so 68 probably feels like 110 to him... Now winter time, there is no stopping him.. Anyway, so short walk for the puppers, then I got on the treadmill for 45 minutes...
Peri-menopause is kicking my *kitten* this week, I sat on the couch after exercising last night and boom puddle of sweat, I sweat more sitting there for 2 minutes than the whole 45 I was on the treadmill... I thought these went away, but alas they are back with a vengeance...
I did pilates this morning and will do a video when I get home, along with another puppers walk..
Anyway, not much has changed around here... I guess I"m kinda used to the new normal...
Have a great day !

::: raising hand, waving wildly:::: me me me, I knew... lol... Feels good marking it off doesn't it... How in the heck did you do 10 Leslie miles ? Did you do them all at once, or broken up through out the day... Those are the videos I do... there is no way I'd be able to do 10 miles - thats like 2.5 hours.... Impressive ! I say you get the Tiara for the day... heck the week, for that one !5 -
Boss's proposal: the whole 5 of us left should wear wedding dresses/tuxes and do an easter egg hunt.
More importantly, yesterday she had me stick googly eyes on everything.
Like this:
So you see, it's all perfectly sane around here. /s
No but really, I'm wildly swinging between "I'm fine" and "I'm really really Not Fine not at all."
I'm often very angry. Sometimes depressed. Occasionally resigned.
Binge watching a lot of shows because laying on the couch and being present/actually watching a thing makes life feel just a touch more normal.7 -
Hey ho, my lovelies,
Here's a link to an article about the things happening within us during this pandemic which may surprise you. I found it helpful to process it during the day.

Peace to us all.

What an inspiring bunch of talk-it-out Tuesday people you are! Here I was expecting rants and grumps, and I got inspiration.
@micki48 - you are my oven cleaning buddy. Yesterday my husband's birthday cake had a disaster, causing burning mess on the bottom of the oven. Why didn't I listen to my high school Home Economics teacher (yes, I AM that old...) when she told us never to try a new recipe for an important event? But I was very very good, and cleaned it right away. My stove (new last Fall) has a steam cleaning thing that if you do it right after the mess happens, then clean it all up right away, it isn't too bad. It also required a bit of Barkeepers Friend and some elbow grease, but the sticky charred remains of the overflowing cake are gone. The cake was wonderful, by the way. Just my pan was a tad small for it, it seems! And no, I did not make a salad out of the burned bits, @evangsimmons170 - that image cracks me up.
Speaking of @evangsimmons170 - I am going to be the next domino. First @Gidgitgoescrazy got you going on planning your workouts ahead, now you are burning that up!!! and I think I'll try it. Sometimes the weather will make outdoor hike possible instead of indoor workouts, but I'll put those into my plan. I'll let you know if I have as much success as you have. Inspired!
@conleywoods - so glad you are feeling better, and then dialing back the snacks, carbs, and sugar. It is always good to see how it is possible to go "off plan" or eat in ways we know are not great, but to come right back on track instead of giving up. It is probably the most important thing we can learn.
@Terytha - I want to put googly eyes on EVERYTHING!!! and hug you5 -
Tenants in my childhood home moved out and I'm trying to organize repairs & cleaning. Cleaning is usually last but alot of things need to be clean prior to repair. They didn't even vacuum, much less scrub anything. It was brand spanking new condition when they moved in and the zero effort on their part - plus the multiple holes, worn down baseboard corners, the more I think about it, the madder I get. I'm venting, thank you. So much work on this place, and it's hard not to be personal as do this for my mother.
Anyway, my mental reminder is to stay on topic & focus. I've been yakking the ears off everyone that come into contact with!
We're trying to eat from our cupboards and freezer, and there's starting to be some space.6 -
So I just finished my walk and I’m relaxing on my screened porch catching up with all of you, listening to some jazz. Wish I could have you all over. 💕You went from removing "baked on crud" to having "a healthy salad for lunch." I immediately thought, "What did she do, make a salad from the baked on crud?" LOLOL
Let's just call it my shelter-in-place craziness! LOLOL
@evangsimmons170 Now you made me laugh!!! Ewwww gross. If you could have seen the burnt on crud, no way!! 😂 And Congratulations on that 10 mile workout! 🎉 You are killing it.
@Steph1498 It’s very therapeutic to clean (and garden). You go girl! I do think blinds might be one of my least favorite tasks though. So time consuming. I finished off the afternoon by going through my drawers and closet. I have so many clothes now that fit waaaay different then when I wore them last.
@jugar Oh no, cake explosions are never good, but you are smart to get it cleaned up right away. 🎂 And Happy Birthday to your taller half.
@Terytha I ❤️ googlie eyes. Last fall, I found ginormous ones at the $1 store and put them on a painting in my house. I love your lamps with eyes. And you do you. If binge watching makes it feel normal, do it!
@cory17 Sorry there is so much work in your childhood home. Bummer. I know that when the new owners of my childhood home didn’t care for it, it made me very sad, because we loved it so. Hope the rest of the work goes well. And you can always vent to us.
@evelynladams527 I’m going to read your article when I’m done this post. 🤗

@Gidgitgoescrazy Oh that peri menopause. I’m right there with you...still. I always sweat much more after I stop exercising. Takes about 10 minutes or so to cool down. The weird flashes are the ones out of nowhere and seem to spread from inside your body. So many weird aspects, we could go on and on, huh? Like that brain fog?! My personal favorite 🤪 Glad you were able to have a nice, albeit, short walk with puppers. Those elderly dears do need to be in charge of distance. Our old guy would just lay down wherever he was when he was done. 🐶2

My kids are next door at grandma's for a sleepover tonight. My husband and I are planning a fun night in together. A costume dance party for two and probably a late night movie. Were going to make flatbread with goat cheese, peaches and bacon bits. Baked apple slices topped with sharp cheddar cheese and drizzled with maple syrup. We will have a veggie tray and strawberry Italian sodas. Should be fun and a good distraction!
Quote
@conleywoods I LOVE this!!! How wonderful and fun for you two. I think you are very wise to make some really special time for the two of you. And what a great grandma. Hope you had a blast. 💕2 -
Good evening at least for some of us - good whatever it is, in any case.
@cory17 - urrrrghh -- it is so horrible when renters do not have any respect for the place, for you, or, it seems, for themselves. I have never rented out a place, but I have a friend who has and she finds it rare that someone really takes good care. So sorry you have to clean up after them. Their moms must have done too much of that so they never learned to do it for themselves! Keep cool, and it will soon be looking much better again.
Just a few reminders for weigh-ins:
@Andreabroadley whenever you can!
due Wednesday:
@offitgoes
@evelynladams527
Have a lovely full moon night, everyone2 -
Happy Tuesday night!
So many fun comments and stories I’ve read from you all tonight. We’ve all taken turns running hard on turning the merry go round. There are times I’m focused and calm, going with the flow of the moment and then other times, when putting a few thoughts about the future puts me in a tail spin and I freak out. Breathe in through the nose, hold, out through the mouth-hold. Repeat. Often.
I’ll get some sleep and see you earlier in the day tomorrow.
@jugar belated birthday wishes to the tall one-it *will* be belated by the time you read this!
I had a walk today with Monica (younger daughter) and Sarah (spouse). We discovered more areas up and behind the rolling cemetery behind the back yard. It’s a fascinating cemetery.
I’m discouraged by the app telling me that “if every day was like today you’d weigh...” seeing that number go up this week...well, poo. Actually, that’ll help. Exercise will, too. I need some inspiration so will take your writingss to heart!
G’night❣️

This is the most hilarious hand washing video imaginable. You must watch it! With your kids, your old ones - anyone.

Good morning friends! Hope everyone is feeling well. Pollen is super high here today. The leaves have popped overnight and there is a green cloud in the air. The cars are ridiculous. Maybe I'll post a picture later. LOL.
Just finished 33 minutes of pilates. It was yesterday's class, but whooweee those side planks are ridiculous!! I just watched for part of it because it was not happening here. I earned my shower @jugar. Now, I need to get going today. I'll check in later. Make it a great day.1 -

@Gidgitgoescrazy I definitely did not do Monday's 10 miles all at once. I did 3 in the morning, 3 in the afternoon, and the last 4 that night. The most I've ever done at one time is 8 miles, but that was YEARS ago. I'm in it for the long haul and don't want to do anything to kill my momentum or injure myself. I only allow myself 1 day of rest per week now; that seems to be working very well. In the past I've found that any more than that quickly derails me and I have to start over.
I had another 10 miles planned for yesterday (Tuesday), but I stayed up late Monday night, overslept Tuesday morning, and the day got away from me. However, I was able to get in 7 of the 10 miles. I decided the other 3 will get added to Saturday's workout plan since I hadn't made one yet for that day.
Thanks for the encouragement. As is what seems to be the national theme: We're all in this together!5 -

@cory17 I'm so sorry your tenants had no regard for your property, especially one with so much meaning to you! Sometimes you wonder if owning rental property is really worth it, but it's something I'm really interested in doing in the near future.
I too am trying to "eat from our cupboards and freezer." I'm doing really good except when I run out of the essentials that you can't stock pile like eggs or almond milk, I run to the store and end up getting a "few" things more. LOL0 -
@Terytha I loved the googly eyes! Too funny! Do whatever you gotta do to stay sane, right? Enjoy your day.
@micki48 I super loved your enclosed porch! I'd be there all the time if I could!
@conleywoods BEST. DATE IDEA. EVER! I love it!

@jugar that handwashing YouTube was insane! LOLOL. A prime example of how creative (or crazy) we get when we've been couped up in the house for too long! Too funny! Thanks for sharing.2

went to the food store yesterday with a home made mask, I followed a video on making a mask from a pair of leggings. Well no one mentioned that you can breathe through the leggings. I thought I was going to pass out but I kept that mask on until I got in the car. I wanted to post a picture but not sure how big my face with post. I can't tell if I shrunk the picture down. LOL

Hi gang!
I like that "truth about losing weight" graphic @matthewsfive . It is so true - the doubts, hard work, slowness of the process - all that is invisible. Especially if the person making the comments needs to lose weight and is still at the bottom step! It is common to believe that it is easy for other people. This team gets it!
We had another gorgeous sunny day here today, cool but lovely. We were able to get the tree off our vegetable garden. A huge spruce tree fell on the garden a few weeks ago during a storm, and we finished cleaning it up today. One section of the fence got squished, but it looks like it will be possible to pull it all back up and make it critter proof again. My garden's nickname is "Sing Sing". Without the crazy fencing system, it is overrun by all kinds of beasts who love the same vegetables we do, it seems. Or who just wander through with their huge feet (thanks, moose). The fence is my friend. Now the work of cleaning up the garden, turning under the cover crop, and getting the soil warm begins! I did plant one small part with kale and mini purple daikon radish in hopes that they might survive. It is going to snow on Friday, but they won't have germinated by then, right? I have never planted anything this early. No pollen here, @micki48 !
So, friends. At this point we are going to have to work really hard to succeed at losing 20 pounds as a team this week. So far, we have put ON 1.3 pounds, but there are 15 people yet to weigh in for the week. Let's keep giving it a try! We need to catch up to the teams who are losing more, or go check out their team threads to see what they are doing to keep losing during these hard times! I'm not sure I'm going to register a loss this week, but being on the Fitrokr team has been helping me push through more exercise than I would have done on some days.
Whatever happens, we'll keep on doing the best we can, every day!3
