Molly and I had the best weekend. We were having such a good time that we decided not to go home. We stayed another night. We were up at 5 this morning to get back in time for work. Saturday we went to Richmond to see her brother and sister in law along with Molly's sister and her partner. We had lunch together and had a good time. I was admiring my sister in law's gorgeous quilts that she makes. I fell in love with the Dresden plate quilt...and she gave it to me!!! I will have to post a picture. it's so pretty! on our way back to the country home we stopped at our favorite vegetable stand. Fresh peaches, corn on the cob, green beans, an enormous cantaloupe, all so pretty.Sunday I made peach pancakes for breakfast then we went to play Frisbee golf. I had packed a picnic of nibbles and we enjoyed that by the lake. Once we got back we enjoyed hanging out. We ate a late lunch of leftovers and corn on the cob. It started raining so we curled up on the couch and watched a scary movie. The Visit. Anyone else seen it? After the movie we played Mexican train dominoes and had so much fun! I love good weekends!

I hate that you can’t edit posts here. That weigh-in should have said week 3.

Hey Kristie, I hope your work week is off to a good start. You can edit them, just within the first hour. You just have to refresh the page, and then on your post there will be a cogwheel in the top right corner (you may have to hover over it, I can't remember). Click on that and edit away.

@Mrsbell8well My mother is a quilter. Dresden Plate is the first quilt block I can remember making, when I was 7. My house is full of quilts, although I don't really do much quilting myself. I'll inherit hundreds of them one day though!

I reread my post. I see left something out. I meant to say I "ran" up and down the stairs for 5 minutes, not actual running.

@tryingagain5 If you get three similar messages from me, it’s either the app acting up or user error on my part. You’re doing so well this week. I think walk/running up and down the stairs is harder than running. It’s like HIIT in that it gets your heart pumping on the way up and you get a bit of a reprieve on the way down so you’re doing intervals. Your meal prep and calorie count are great. You must be so pleased that the walking group is getting back together. You are really hitting your stride again. Congratulations!

@xX_PhoenixRising_Xx I hope you’re having a break from the migraines this week. I don’t know how you start so upbeat and focused in spite of it. It’s inspiring. Take care.

@Mrsbell8well That’s so cool that three generations of women in your family are taking the 13-week. I wonder what your group total will be. I’m sure you’ll be a bunch of losers! ;)

I've been overdoing it the past few days. Over the past week, I've taken eight spin classes. Although I regularly hydrate, stretch, and foam roll throughout the day (which has been easier during this WFH stint), my legs just aren't having it today. Rest day, here I come. Maybe tomorrow too.

As for my weight throughout all of this, I've been experiencing some water retention as my muscles recover, so I'm curious how the numbers will look for my official weekly weigh-in tomorrow morning.

    Quick check in!
Yesterday we did a 5 mile hike in the smokey mountain national park. It was beautiful.
Today we're taking a train ride through the nantahala gorge and hopefully finding a spot to fish. Tomorrow is horseback riding.

    Have a terrific Tuesday!

I don't say hi as often as I intend to. You are all so...high energy. I wish I had as much! Over the weekend did a 60 minute hike with a friend. Would have gone farther but she needed to get back to her kiddo. I could have gone back to the trail and done more but...I didn't. Kicked something (accidentally) Sunday and thought I may have broken a toe but I've decided it is just jammed or sprained. I'll see the doctor today just in case, though. There's no upside to putting your feet at risk. Going in to the office late so I can do my appt...had a list of things I wanted to do...it us 8:20, they won't all get done. I'm just so tired all the time. BUT the veggie curry is in the crockpot, the timer is set. There will be dinner tonight!

So, after reading a lot of you all's comments about daily weight tracking, I decided to give it a go (have been very anti-daily weight for years). And I learned something really interesting. Any time we get Chinese take out, my weight jumps 3 lbs over night and it take 3-4 days to get back to where it started. Clearly sodium is not my friend.
Dysfunctional relationship if I've ever seen one...me:but I love you!sodiumpiss off and die!. Sigh. I've got to cut down...

I'm super excited this week, there is an international conference Wed/Thur/Fri that is usually held in Montana...rather than cancelling, they put it all on-line. And I'm having fun already. Conference hasn't even started yet. Those Helena folks sure know how to party!

And now I have to go get ready for my dr appt, work, etc.

    check in for Monday
    Food-didn't log but under
    Water-64 oz
    Exercise-over 60 min beach walk

I am waiting for the air conditioner guy to come for routine maintenance so I am going to be quick. First I want to say-I am back to where I was before quarantine! Whoo hoo!! I am happy and I have been doing well lately. I had a good day yesterday too. Shannon and her boyfriend came for a day and he grilled me salmon. He went a little crazy in the fish market down here, he got scallops, salmon, clams and a few other things. They are coming down again for a day later in the week so he cook those then. He is a golf pro and doesn't get much time off this time of year. He is really a nice guy but I still miss her boyfriend who she dated over 4 years, through high school and college. They broke up last year. He was more of a surfer dude and goofy. I loved him, my husband didn't lol! Today, I am heading to the farmers market in town and then this afternoon Nicole and I will go to the beach. She is a special ed teacher and still has virtual classes until Friday. We are going to have grilled chicken sandwiches for dinner. I am almost done with my cleaning but today is such a perfect day, there is no way I am going to stay inside to clean. The worst of it is behind me, just LR, DR and Kitchen to go. They are small too so not too bad.

Hopefully this air guy comes soon so I may be able to get on the kayak this morning. I really do love it down here! Hope everyone is having a good week so far!

@Cafelelia If you ever get frustrated about opening so slow, look at the mess down here. You are doing it the right way. It will be worth it. Love the doggies on the treadmill Lol!
@Mrsbell8well Sounds like a perfect weekend! Love the quilt too!
@tryingagain5 I think running up the stairs is harder than running lol! I bet your heart was pumping!! What an awesome workout! You really had a productive day yesterday and set yourself up for a successful week! I am so happy your walking group is starting up again!
@minstrelofsarcasm That is a lot of spinning! I actually have never done a spin class but have a bike at home that has the videos I can follow. I just haven't done them. Maybe when I am back home in the fall...
@GingerPwr Sounds like a wonderful vacation! Enjoy!!

    Monday check in
    Food - on target
    Water - 1.8l
Exercise - 2 walks, 30 min cross training
The heat wave has broken here, and evenings are not so hot and humid, and I like have the option of getting outside at any time rather than just mornings or evenings. Will never complain about the heat though!

@sleepymom5 - Congratulations for getting back to where you were pre-quarantine! That is so awesome! Hope that you were able to kayak this morning too. No complaints from me about the slow reopening, but I do have a lot of anxiety about the schools. We just really need an alternative to what happened in the spring, which was a bunch of work being assigned, and the parents have to do the teaching or the kids taught themselves. We were facing a potential crisis in the spring, so we understood that and did our best. But this approach is not sustainable for the entire upcoming school year, and that is what has me worried.

@melaniedscott - Great that you got out on a hike, but am sorry about your toe. That is something you should get checked out. Daily weigh ins can take the stress out of weigh day, and let us know how it is going. Enjoy your online conference!

@gingerpwr - Sounds like such a fun trip, enjoy!

@minstrelofsarcasm - That is a lot of spin classes! Glad that you are taking a rest day or two.

@tryingagain5 - Great food prep and exercise! Running or walking up and down stairs sound sounds harder than running. In my younger days, I did a few charity walks up the CN Tower, which is a lot of stairs. Omg, it was hard every time.

@mrsbell8well - Sounds like such a nice weekend! That quilt is beautiful!

    Week 3
Weigh In Day: Sunday July 12
    Previous Weight: 133.4
    Today's Weight: 134.6

Hi! I'm so sorry for my late weigh-in!
I was house-sitting this weekend and just got home - couldn't find a scale at the other house and didn't want to dig around in any cupboards or cabinets, that stresses me out lol.

Unfortunately the home owner left me SO MANY awesome treats for the weekend, so I definitely went over my daily calories and indulged a bit too much! But it was all really good and worth it - i'll just have to stick to plan this week.

And in good news - I finally got called back to work and I start this Thursday, back in the office! I'm going to go into the office tonight or tomorrow and give everything a good clean / sanitize my office / desk etc so it's all ready to go on Thursday morning. I can't believe i'm this excited to be going back to work!

I hate getting on the scale at the doctor's so late in the day. It adds so much weight. My arm is killing me today hurts to move, a nerve is pinching along with everything else that's wrong there. My bed frame finally arrived, just waiting for my husband to get home to put it together. I wont be able to help much because of my arm. I'm a little worried the bed is too hard I might buy a pillow topper.

The weather is a little weird today. A lot of thunder storms. Not even going to try walking which would be the only thing I could probably do. Yesterday I did my new video plus a leslie sansone video and then went to dinner with my friend but I only ate half. That was a win.

Hi gang and happy Tuesday. So I don’t mind Christmas in July but this tax season in July is doing a number on me. One more day to go then I can stop with the insane stress!

At least I have not been doing stress eating! My eating has been pretty good but I think after things settle down I would like to lose about 6 more pounds. Then my BMI will be in the normal rather the the overweight category. I know it will be tough, but I am so close I hate to give up. Especially since I’ve been having such a good year with my eating and exercise.

One thing that’s been terrible is my water intake. I used to be so good with it but this is how it goes. I get to work and put a bottle on water on my desk. I take one or two sips and it is basically still full at the end of the workday. Then I drink water all night long, even drinking when I get up during the night to use the bathroom because I’m so thirsty. So I probably get a few bottles of water in - I just do it at the wrong time of day. So then I’m getting up all night long to go to the bathroom. Really crazy routine!!

    Tuesday 7/14 check in
Food: a little over but not too bad, even had fruit and veggies today
    Water: 40 oz
Exercise: ended up being a rest day

I slept really well for about 4 hours and then something woke me up and I couldn't really get back to sleep. Kind of dozed off and on for a while.

I had an appointment with my car insurance agent. There are changes to Michigan's car insurance. I still don't completely understand. Good thing I trust my agent to do what's best for me. Since I was close to where my dad lives, I stopped over to see him after my appointment.

Ate dinner and now I'm going to nap before work. I'll never stay awake other wise.

After I got up from my nap,I wasn't really hungry but ate something anyway and now am quite a bit over on my calorie range. Hopefully it won't affect my weigh in too much.

Night-night, everyone. I worked a lot today and then did housework because my granddaughter, Pippa, is coming tomorrow. Since the swings and slides are still off limits, I’m going to teach her how to roll down a grassy hill at Christie Pits park near here tomorrow. I’d also like to take her to her father’s favourite ice cream place from when he was little. It’s totally safe because you walk up to a window in a wall. It’s always been that way. I’ll catch up with you all soon. Big hugs to those trying so hard this week and high five to those in the zone. I’m in the middle.

I gained 2lbs overnight!  I was good yesterday - ate to plan and got some exercise in.  Gain explained by TOM beginning to show itself, so will hopefully be back down by the weekend.  Gutted that this means end of the green streak! Anyway, biology is what it is!

    Biology and genetics are kittens!

    Wednesday weigh in week 3
    PW: 213.5
    CW: 211.9
    -1.6

I'll take it but yesterday it was 211...😑. Sodium strikes again (had some very strange potato chips as an evening snack with my husband: Journey to India, Tandoori Barbeque flavor. I liked them...I think).

Toe is NOT broken. YAY! But it still hurts. I'll live.

Virtual conference started last night (just a meet and greet) and they've done some super cool stuff to encourage interaction & community. Awesome already & got to see my old roomie! Basically, when the conference is live, you can stay at the hotel OR you can stay in the dorms at the college and have randomly assigned roommates. The dorms are much cheaper. I work for state government, so...obvi, dorms...and every time I've gone, I've been SO lucky! Fabulous roomies! So much better than college!

    Week Three

    Weigh In Day: Wednesdays
PW (Previous Weight): 167.4 (July 8th)
CW (Current Weight): 168.2 (July 15th)
LTD (Loss to Date): 65.8 lbs

Yep, I expected this. I'm still sore from all of my spinning (but I may go to a class today anyway, maybe, possibly...) which means I'm definitely retaining a decent amount of water. I've also had quite a bit of sugar recently, which tends to bloat me. But now that most of my sugary options have been devoured, I'm hoping that will help me through the next week. Still at a loss for this month anyway, so I'm satisfied, even if it's only a fraction of a pound.

    check in for Tuesday
    Food- logged and on target
    Water-64 oz
Exercise-2-over 20 min walks and 45 min walk and PT

Just a quick check in today. I am doing well. I am very happy with my attitude and progress this week. I really think so much of this is mental for me. I unfortunately did something to my knee yesterday. I don't know what. I stepped off a curb. I didn't twist or anything, so I don't know what happened. I have been resting it ever since and it does feel better but still not normal. Hoping that it will be feeling good enough to walk tonight but I am not going to push it.

Enjoy the day everyone! I will catch up with all of you soon. :)

    Tuesday check in
    Food - on target
    Water - 2l
Exercise - 2 walks, around 6 km total
Yesterday was good, and it was nice to have a break from the heat wave, which is back today! I cleaned the last bits of the house yesterday and am now done. It is our last day with no kids and no big plans other than to rest tonight. I travel tomorrow to my mom’s house tomorrow for a long weekend and the boys will return home with me.

@sleepymom5 - Glad that you are doin well! I hope that you knee is ok and please it checked out if it persists.

@mrsbell8well - Great job with your weight loss and really like your chart!

@brown6267 - We are next to each other on the step chart and our steps are almost the same! It feels like we are stepping together!

@minstrelofsarcasm - You definitely did a ton of cycling so the water retention explanation makes a lot of sens. I love you attitude and you are totally right to look at your overall loss for the month or even a few months, rather than just one week.

@melaniedscott - Nice loss! Glad that your toe is not broken and that the virtual conference is going well!

@freeglerock - I am sorry about TOM, that gain and the loss of your green streak. Overall, you have been doing an excellent job, so don’t let this one week stop you!

@1theresamcvean - Hope that you and your granddaughter are rolling down the hills right now!

@tryingagain5 - You have been doing really well overall, and also checking in consistently. Don’t worry to much about going over one day.

@lennoncpa - You have been doing so well and please don’t give up! Stress can really mess up our progress. I have a few friends who are accountants and tax season is just a horrible stressor. It is ending very soon and you can get back on track managing your stress and everything else. As for the water, I know how hard it is to regulate your intake. Maybe set a schedule with a reminder bell ringing on your computer or phone?

@ljdanny - Just put that weight from the doctor’s office aside. Getting weighed on a different scale, in the afternoon, and probably with clothes on is just not a consistent indicator compared to you weighing in at home.

@twyla77 - Great that you were called back to work!
