Happy Friday!
Even though I don't usually post my own weigh-ins, every once in a while it feels good to celebrate being in maintenance for so long. I hit my first goal almost 8 years ago, and revised down to where I am now within the last year or so. It feels great, but still takes attention and commitment, just like losing.
CW: 114.2
LTD: 40 pounds and holding
There will be a new permanent chat set up by the end of the weekend for those of us who are at goal and working a maintenance routine. I hope it will serve 3 purposes:- provide a place for those who are learning maintenance to share questions and answers
- inspire F2F members who are dreaming of maintenance or are almost there - it will be an up close and realistic look at where everyone hopes to be one day
- keep the members who make it to goal in the F2F community! It is not just while actively losing weight that we need support. Maintaining the loss is hard, as all the stats will tell you. We don't want anyone to be included in those depressing numbers! We're here for the full journey and hope that those losses stay lost. Forever.
All this is to say that this chat thread will not be only for those who have made it to their goal weight. It will be a combination of success stories (inspiration!), sharing of tools and solutions to problems (information!), and support for everyone who does not want to lose and re-gain any more.7 -
As discussed, one early weigh in!

Yep. And that 178 marks a really weird milestone for me: it's what I weighed when I entered Weight Watchers in 2005.
I'm not proud that I was an overweight teen, I just think its really interesting to compare the me now to the me then. I definitely don't carry the weight as nicely and I have a lot more stretch marks. But all the same, I'm grateful to have come this far.
And this time, its sustainable. Unlike WW, which I seriously learned nothing from.8 -

I enjoy playing golf. My dad had me on the course at the age of 3, and I played for the high school team. Now with 2 kids (11 & 7) and a husband who doesn't play, I only play once a year. My parents take my kids out every few weeks and play a round.2 -

This is not shocking or upsetting in the least. I had a very hungry week last week and I took a cue from my body and upped my calories for a week. I usually eat between 1200-1350 and this past week I had 1800-2000 calories a day. Nothing crazy, just bigger portions and more nuts and seeds than usual. I also got in some more intense exercise through my mountain biking and hiking. I have basically been on restricted calories for 17 months and my body wanted a break. I am back to my normal calories this week. I will post pictures from my adventures later today!7 -
Hi everyone! Hope your day is going well. My exercise feels way down since last week. I know my steps are. I am finding my new routine difficult to figure out. I’m kind of exhausted by the end of the day and really have no time to myself except to veg out. I need to figure this out because it doesn’t seem to be changing anytime soon. I really enjoyed having so much time to myself the last few months.
Well, that over. Off I go someone is up from her nap8 -

@Terytha you look so different. You have done a really good job and your face and arms have changed a ton. The tummy will get there ! We all have one spot or another that just takes its sweet time.
@micki48 phew! Toddlers are busy creatures for sure. I would suggest getting your workout in while Juliette is awake. You know you don't need a really long time to do your balanced life videos, even if you stop in the middle and come back to it. Set up some simple games that you can use to distract Juliette while exercising but keep her near you for supervision. If she can do puzzles, hide the pieces around the room so she has to search for the pieces while you workout. You can easily give her clues without having to physically assist her. Another fun game is to use dollar store loafs(the puffy kind) or rolled up wash cloths with hair bands around them. Toss them to different areas of the room, she returns them to you, once she finds all of them, toss them again. Have her close her eyes when you throw them, if she needs more of a challenge. Use nap time to rest or do other things that make you happy.
Here are some pictures from my hike yesterday. We did a 6 mile hike as a family and took in some great views at the summit! The bear grass was blooming and they are these tall white puffy scepter things all over the mountain. I like to do a little rock hounding here and there. I came up with a great find. It's a quartz crystal formation and it's about the size of a good sized potato! I love it, so beautiful.
Today I did my ballet workout and my mother in law wants to walk later. Tomorrow were heading to the lake and bringing the kayaks.5 -

People are posting great losses!
With those with slight gains, no worries! Stay on track. Get back on track. We know in the long run it works.
@Terytha Wow! Fantastic transformation!
Garmin had another 100k (62.1 miles) bike challenge this week, so I woke up earlier to get the miles done. I finished this morning, so I'll see about walks for the next 2 days. My ankle is feeling better, but I'm trying to hold back from running too soon.3 -
I'm enjoying the news and photos - @conleywoods - what a beautiful hike! And your crystal potato is great. I love your kid play while working out ideas too! I'm sure @micki48 will be trying some of those
@Terytha - have a great weekend retreat. And congrats on another loss! Looking green, and sinking well into the 170s. YAY!
@evangsimmons170 you too - some beautiful losses happening. All those steps are certainly paying off!
@YinxFed - I hope you feel better I am always amazed at how well you exercise and keep at it in spite of MS. Rest and you'll be back to wowing everyone soon!
I'm yawning my head off, so here are the reminders and the heads-up for tomorrow -

@conleywoods Thank you so much for the great ideas. I love them. I will definitely try them out. Your photos are amazing. That view is breathtaking. And your crystal is gorgeous. I also LOVE rocks. I have many special finds around my home. Cool flowers too. I didn’t know that one.
@gigitgoescrazyj I hope your daughter is feeling well.
@YinxFed Hoping you are feeling better soon. Good for you for listening to your body.
Got in a good hour of gardening time before dinner tonight. I’ve struggled to keep my eyes open most of the night. My steps were better today. 11,600 right now. Haven’t gone near the scale all week so I will be surprised tomorrow. Lol I’ve fallen asleep three times writing this. Lol. Better post and head off to bed.

I haven't been very active this week. I've been working in the office a lot to distract myself from losing my walking buddy
That being said I did go to the gym Monday and did a bunch of cardio and arm workouts. I was also able to run for 3 minutes on the treadmill. Running is not something I could ever do before so I'm proud of the progress.
Additionally my appetite has been pretty low. Definitely not eating my emotions so that's an improvement. Making it a point to eat at least 1200 calories a day, now is not the time for a weakened immune system.
@Terytha losing 93 lbs is a tremendous accomplishment! Congrats!6 -

Apologies to the team: I'm normally much better at team sports. I'll make it up in the coming week.
I've eaten a TON load of salt this week: had an emotional wobble so hit the potato-chips. HARD. So I'm carrying a lot of salt-water/weight.

This morning - I cooked up a storm:
- sweet potato, salmon & spring onion fish-cakes.
- peppers stuffed with chick-peas in a tomato/smoked paprika sauce
- rosemary bread
All coeliac-friendly. Cooked in batches to freeze and re-heat during the week.

@Terytha Your changes are inspiring. I can definitely see the changes in your posture, the shape of your arm, and your face. Good work!

Question: I’m curious.
What do you all set as your goals for the week on MFP? 1, 1.2, 2 pounds a week?
How about activity? I’m unsure if I should put lightly active or active? I routinely get over 8.5k steps and move a lot during the day, but don’t always “workout”.
Also, if you Fitbit, do you set it for negative calories based on your Fitbit activity throughout the day? I’m not sure I like seeing that I have 300 calories left for the whole day at breakfast only for it to change by the end of the day.0 -
Happy Saturday!
Well, some ups some downs - it seems the heat, the confinement issues, the rain - it's a conspiracy. I have been finding it really hard to get the usual exercise, too. We'll get our mojo back, promise!
I think those food ideas from @cerizez would help. Recipe for the salmon cakes? It all sounds great, but I'm a fool for salmon cakes, but I don't have a recipe I really like. I'll try yours I also think I'll make my fave tuna salad - tuna (or salmon, or sardines) with mashed up white beans (well cooked), celery, herbs, and a splash of vinegar, all served inside a whole raw red pepper instead of on bread. I used to take those to work for lunch a lot but I have not made one for a while. It's time! Cold food rules right now.
Please go check out the IDEA LOUNGE and dream up ideas for us. This can also be a place to complain about anything in F2F you don't like. Make suggestions - it is not just about challenges!

I am good with that considering I didn't get back on track till Thursday...
3 hours of kayaking this morning at 7am, we went to a new place. It was such a beautiful morning, and we got home before it got too hot...
Have a great day! 🤗

Happy Thursday!
I'm hoping for a less dramatic day today (weather-wise) - running off to an appointment this morning, and then seeing how my gardens are doing after yesterday's punishments.
Just a few heads up for weigh-ins!

and we know that @CM_73 will get there whenever possible.
The good, the bad, the ugly - it's all information and you learn from it. Thanks!
I'm on it with the "ugly" this week with CW @ 183...not quite as on track as I wanted weight-wise but I had a great visit with Monica! Generally, I'm eating reasonably well and getting enough water. I'm having trouble getting to morning exercise. It's so much easier to get to when nobody's at home. It's been way too sticky/humid to walk much so, instead of walking, I'm a twitchy, nail-picking fiend.
My mini-garden seems to be coming around, though, so that's promising. Not even close to a comparison to you, @jugar, but it's ok.
This coming week, I'm going to do 3 different (additional) work-outs on Grokker. Now that I've been looking around, I'm finding some interesting and encouraging types. I'd love to turn Monica's outdoor bike into a stationary kind...does anyone have a sturdy stand or know where one can be procured?
OK...time to drink some more water.
Have a good rest of the day, y'all!

Yesterday was good for exercise - a legs workout at the gym - and REALLY bad for snacking. But I logged it all and have resolved that today I will be back on track. So far, so good.
Today is turning into a "get caught up with laundry and housework" kind of day, not my fave but long overdue. And I'm looking forward to tonight. Our local summer fair should have been this week end but was cancelled due to COVID-19 but they are going ahead with the fireworks tonight. We'll all be parked in our vehicles in the parking lot and appropriately social distanced instead of packed into the fairgrounds, but it will be nice nonetheless.6 -
