HOW IT ALL WORKS:
Every challenger weighs in on their chosen day, every week without fail! At the end of each week, the tallies are done to determine the team and individuals with the most weight lost. The best losers are announced with full fanfare every Sunday. The team competition is all in good spirits - may the most losing win!
We also track those small, steady losses with the Green Week count. If you lose, however small an amount, it counts for 1 week in the green. The total will be by month, and cumulative - so you can really rack them up and get to your goal even if you never hit the top of the leaderboard.
In an effort to recognize accomplishments, we are using an optional addition to the weigh in format called LOSS TO DATE or LTD. Please just leave this new line off if you do not want to participate. Here is the new format:
Username
Weigh In Day
PW (Previous Weight):
CW (Current Weight):
LTD (Loss to Date): your TOTAL loss since your highest weight ever
If you need a week off, a break, a change of weigh-in day - just ask your Captains here on your team chat page. If you take a break, you are moved to the Support Team. If you miss two weigh-ins in a row without asking for a break, you will be dropped from the team, so be sure to ask if you are travelling, sick, or just needing some time off. You can remain on the Support Team for as long as you need to. You still participate in the discussions and weigh in if you want to, but your weigh-ins will not be counted on the weekly tally.
Once you reach your goal weight, you join the Goal Zone! After hitting your goal, you need support to stay there, and you can help your teammates join you. You must continue to weigh in every week, and if you have 2 weeks above your self-defined goal zone, you go back to the regular team to lose that amount before it builds up. You will have a chance to hone those maintenance skills and stick with your team!
In addition to your own team, there are F2F Full Group CHALLENGES. You can do all or none - it's up to you. Participating adds a lot to your success, so we hope to see you there often! These can involve anything fitness, health, or nutrition - and they’ll get you moving, thinking, and learning about this journey. Check the Announcements section for full group challenges.
Let’s show our fellow challengers some F2F love! Introduce yourselves right away, and let the new month begin!!

Hi all and welcome to the Downsizers November team chat! My name is Linda and I am on of the team captains. My counterpart is the amazing @mari_moulin. Mari is off for a few months and Megan @Megan_smartiepants1970 is graciously filling in for her. Megan is awesome! Ziortza @Marigorringo is our team motivator.
I live in Southwestern Ontario. I am 56 years old, married, retired due to a disability and have 3 adult children. I also have 3 beautiful granddaughters. Hayley and Norah live in Ontario but little Stella lives in Scotland. I have 2 cats, one named Nick and the other Lady.
I struggled with my weight since the birth of my son 33 years ago. So I have been overweight most of my adult life. I started my weight loss journey in February 2019. I have been with F2F since I started. I have lost 54 pounds so far and have another 65 to go. I count calories, faithfully log all my food and I do Intermittent fasting. For exercise, I usually walk but due to nerve pain I had to stop. I am excited to be on this journey with you!
November goals
1. no binge eating
2. Drink 70 ounces of water daily
3. Try a new recipe every week
4. Sleep 7.5 hours a dayHousekeeping
Weigh In
We will post a weigh in reminder every day. The format for posting your weight is in the team chat introduction above. If you can’t weigh in durning a particular week, please let me know ahead of time.
Daily Check In
Checking in daily is important. It is the key to making the group work for you. You can do this is any format you want. Things you may want to report could include calories, exercise, water intake, goals or anything you want to share. Share your successes with the team, any struggles or questions you may have.
Step Challenge
Megan takes care of the step challenge. If you want to participate let her know.
Other Resources
On the main page of our group you will find many resources. This is where you will find the idea lounge,
recipe sharing, weekly challenges and the habit tracker. Please take time to introduce yourself as it is fun to get to know your teammates!2 -
Hello Everyone ....My name is Megan and Linda our captain did an amazing job introducing me (you are pretty awesome yourself Linda ) ..I was born in Alberta Canada but have lived in California most of my life .... I am a single mom of 2 ... My son just turned 21 and he doesn't live with me anymore .... My daughter is 15 and I home school her ( always have) she is now a Sophomore (where does time go?) ...I use to be an ER Nurse but I quit when I found out I was preggo with my daughter (her father has denied her from day 1 ) and I didn't want someone else to raise her...I have been off and on MFP since 2009 ..I had a bad habit of giving up on myself and deleting my accounts (no more of that non-sense) .... I was diagnosed being type 2 diabetic Jan. 2019 when I was hospitalized for the flu/pneumonia for 9 days ... I also quit smoking then too ...I smoked for 30+ years UGH .... I will be 50 at the end of December (again where does time go?) Also I am one of the moderators for F2F so please do not hesitate to ask me for help ...Let's have a great month and reach our goals
November goals
1. workout 5-6 days a week
2. stay within calories
3. Stay hydrated
4. Meal prep once a week
PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU WANT TO BE ON THE STEP CHALLENGE ..Thanks3 -
Hi everyone and welcome to the newbies. I’m Andrea and this is my third month on this team. I turned 49 in May and I am on a quest to drop 50 lbs by my 50th bday. I hope to hit the half way mark this month! Here is my progress to date you can tell I got really serious in August.
October was a challenging month as you can see but I hit the 20 pound mark last week and rewarded myself by hiring a health coach. I have a lot to learn in terms of how nutrition and macros effect my weight loss and I am excited to have someone looking at my data and guiding me through the process.
Goal for November:
Average 1- 1.5 pounds per week and
Hit my nutrition goals each day
Get step goal up to 9k/day by month end

Hello Downsizers!
I know you are going to have a fantastic November. To keep track of your daily habits, we have a habit tracker that anyone in F2F can use. Those accumulating check marks are pretty inspiring

Hi all,
I covered all my bases except the exercise part. I was feeling down and stayed inside. I will do my best to get out tomorrow. I think it is supposed to be rainy but I think it will be alright later in the day.
Short Introduction:
I have been on and off MFP since 2013. I have been overweight almost all my life and it has been a real struggle for me. I am from Toronto, Canada and was born here as well. I am 52 and will be 53 the end of November. I feel like my health is suddenly deteriorating and I feel l really need to take my health and wellness into my own hands. Joining this group and getting to know all of you is a great way to do this.
I am an ESL teacher for adults, but currently not employed. I have many resumes out there! I hope to be back to work soon! I struggle with binge eating and emotional eating. I have removed what I I call my "trigger" foods My trigger foods are mostly refined carbohydrates such as bread foods (such as pastry, cookies, cakes), and sugar. I find it easier to eat moderately and eat well when I eliminate these foods.
I'm looking forward to getting to know all of your and having a journey together!
Best wishes,
Laura2 -

When feeling down it really throws us off for doing things. I hope you feel better today! It is hard when we hit our 50’s and health problems come on suddenly. With me overall my health was good and I always said my weight is not affecting me. If I could have seen in to the future I sure would have made changes 20 years ago. I have some no foods also. Let’s crush this month!2 -

Sunday’s check in
Calories: over
Water: ✅
Sleep:❌
DBF: 5
Yesterday I broke my golden rule with potato chips. I bought a large bag instead of a small. Thought I would make it last over a couple of weekends. Wrong! I ended up eating the entire thing over the day. I am back to buying a single serving bag once a week. We also had some treats when we went to my daughter’s house to see the kids. I am moving myself back to a deficit instead of maintenance calories.
Back at the apartment gutting today. It is taking me too long. I get distracted so easy. When I come around stuff from when the kids are young I spend far much time looking at it. It’s hard to believe they now have kids making memory items for them to reflect on!
Weekly goals
1. Stay within calorie goal
2. Drink 70 ounces of water
3. Sleep 7.5 hours daily
4. No binge eating/late night snacking2 -
Hello All! This is my second month participating. I am a mom of two kiddos and live in Massachusetts. I am on my 8th month of being furloughed from my job due to Covid and still getting used to not working everyday and being at stay at home mom.
Tracked No
Under calories No
Steps 17072 tracked
Exercise Walking
I took a day off yesterday but I think I still did ok and all the walking with the kids for Halloween helped. It felt great having a more normal night for them with friends even if they were wearing masks.
Goals for November:
Better tracking
More water
Staying consistent with workouts2 -
Daily Post October 31
Tracked Yes
Under Calorie Yes
Water 128oz
Steps 9758
Exercise 20min treadmill
Halloween with the kids was great. There were actually quite a few houses with candy out which was surprising. The weather was nice, a little windy but not too cold. The kids had a blast. After getting home I had 7k steps so I just hopped on the treadmill to hit my step goal and do the 20min exercise for the weekend challenge.

The Green Challenge Percentage of people who lost weight this week. No matter how small the loss the weights are recorded in green. Remember that even if your team doesn’t rank the highest in weight loss for the week you can still be the Green Percentage winner by having the most losses in your team! So keep it up!!
