Oh though fennel is so good with sauteed cabbage <3<3<3

Yooly - to be honest - I didn't even think about it. I'm guessing that is why I was tired! lol I was thinking I was just kinda out of shape. I wasn't doing anything heavy or lifting - just odds and ends and hosing some stuff... :) Think that is a good sign I'm doing well.

Like my first thought was what the KITTENS LAURIE!!!!! You had surgery "yesterday" for kitten's sake! Got to get some sleep now. But just finished vanilla yogurt with fresh peaches!

Athijade- could it be the fennel seed in the Italian sausage that tasted odd to you? It’s common in traditional sweet Italian sausage - and you either like it or don’t.

I actually love Italian Sausage. We have them in the summer all the time with Brats or I put it on pizza. Just something about this sausage was weird.

I did not eat the leftovers last night. I didn't even eat the backup plan of eggs and hashbrowns. I was just too dang tired. So I ordered a Whopper with cheese (have not had ones in months). Also ordered onion rings but they were not great so I barely ate any. Which I am proud of because I didn't just eat them because they were there.

That is an accomplishment, Athijade! I don't even like BK onion rings - but I probably would have eaten them if they were there in front of me.

Vanilla yogurt and fresh peachs..... <3

I bought a Ninja CREAMi (makes things that aren't ice cream, ice cream like). Turned 160 calorie frozen Cafe Latte Protein shake and 60ml of fairlife milk into a pint "ice cream" very similar to soft serve. I was dubious part way through the process, but when it all came together, amazing! And eating the pint was way more satisfying than drinking an 11.5oz protein shake. I also froze fairlife chocolate protein milk and Caramel protein milk to try, and a "frozen yogurt" base (170g Fage 2% Greek Yogurt, a scoop of lemonade protein powder, a tsp of vanilla and just enough water to mix it all together.

Then for dinner tonight I grilled a 6oz sirloin and made some Brussels and bacon (from the freezer, I nuked them then threw them in a hot pan).

I hope you nuked the sprouts... not the steak? Or was the steak frozen and nuked too :heartbreak: actually a think 6oz could be cooked from frozen even leaving the center red maybe?

You're increasing the stock vlue of the creamie! How easy to clean and how space consuming is it?

I have seen so much about the Creami on TikTok. Really interested in it but I have no space in my apartment.

Tonight I am making BBQ chicken sandwiches and corn on the cob.

Anybody tried the cottage cheese ice cream recipes? Started on TikTok.

Blend up cottage cheese with sugar/honey/maple syrup and add ins. Freeze. I haven’t tried it but might with stevia and fruit this summer.

May that will be something to do with cottage cheese... seems to be one of the few food groups I don't cleave to!

Its super easy to clean, because it does all it's work inside a sealed plastic pint+ cup with a sealed on lid. Not gonna lie, it's big though. I have alot of storage space in my kitchen. I am about to do the frozen yogurt.

And I grilled the steak, lol.

    Work lunches for the week:

Individual protein pizza crust I found at the store with mozzarella, Parmesan, turkey pepperoni, Canadian bacon, red pepper and onion. Yum

    Dinner tonight: burger as taco

168g 90% Lean ground beef, some raw onion. Put the onions on the griddle, then ball of ground beef. Let it start to crust, then throw a low-carb Tortilla over the top and smash that bad boy down thin. Cook awhile, flip and add a slice of American cheese. Serve with tomato, lettuce, pickles, no sugar added ketchup and mustard and 1 slice of bacon (there were only three and I had to share with my husband and son).

    Mine was "not good"(TM)

My "problem child" wanted lunch and we ended up at a place that had noodles and rice. Laksa where the noodle portion was huge and the sauce portion was most certainly NOT low calorie.

Let's hope it "fills me up" long enough to compensate for the calori-geddon.

Eating out with the problem child is never easy. Problem child is happy but you aren’t after indulging recreational eating. The relationship revolves around “where are we going to eat?”

I assume you are doing the driving so there’s some control there. I make a few “rules” for myself when eating out with family:
    1. Insist on only going to places where I know I can get a relatively low calorie meal.
    or
    2. Immediately ask for a to go box and split my meal before beginning to eat. Boxed food can go home with problem child. Or get tossed.
    or
    3. Order from the appetizer or soup/salad menu.
    or as a last resort-
    4. Give in but restrict calories the rest of the day or following day.

I was a caregiver for my mom for many, many, many years and was way overweight because it was just easier to give in to the whining. As mom grew older, eating out was all she looked forward to. It was her social life. Not so great for me.....
I hope I would cope better now.

Yup - recreational eating. For me it’s close to stress eating. I have to constantly remind myself it’s just a meal not an “experience”.

So what happens when you add a bit of stress eating once you take the recreational eating child back home? 🤔

Wish I had an easy answer for that. Either do the recreational eating OR the stress eating but not both?

I'm definitely going for desensitization therapy after the last Costco run. In fact I think I'm even successful. There's just an overwhelming amount of goodies which has made some hamsters lift their paws in the air and vote against candy! For now...

I'm really loving this green soup for breakfast kick I've been on (cold even :) )
Pretty good boost of protein and vitamins to start off the day. Green soup - orange clementines a mini rainbow :)
