Food inspiration, or what's for supper?

Pork chop, brined and grilled. Mushrooms, onions and asparagus, sauteed with garlic.

Now that sounds nice and healthy!

SLIGHTLY more successful brunch attempt I think today? MAYBE? Burger is a quarter lb cheeseburger so that's ~600 Cal by itself. Two poached eggs, soft. And the fruities instead of fries!

It was so good. Brining pork and chicken (breasts in particular) makes it so flavorful and moist.

Hmm: split in two in more than one way!
— chicken arrabiata pouch advertised at 320 Cal per 300g, sucked out of the pouch about 580g, split it across two alternate kinds of chicken arrabiata to get to approximate average numbers, especially for macros (one was higher and one lower protein than mine was indicating) because didn't feel like entering the item as a new one! My logging "adds" about 70 Cal to what would have been logged otherwise… and probably double the time of just entering the item!!!! :-)
— and split the bunnies and the chicken into two meals leaving a slightly smaller half for later.

Funny - tomorrow evening we have reservations at a restaurant in Ohio named Arrabiata. I send pics if I can. Doubt I can even adequately guess calories. But I won’t be eating much other than airline pretzels until dinner time.

Had to look up the name, and yum!

I hasten to add that my pouch did not come with any pasta!
It seems that chicken arrabiata served on penne is WAY more common than just the chicken and sauce pouches without any pasta. But that's what I had!
And it is perfectly wonderful served on bunnies (especially riced cauli bunnies) without any actual pasta!
Should have taken a pic, I guess!

Perhaps that chicken arrabiata would also be tasty over spaghetti squash?

I was surprised the other night when I had more green beans than pasta under the sauce...
...maybe just maybe i would not miss the pasta… thought surprised me, lol.
— agree Yooly, would probably like an arrabiatta with spaghetti squash.

I've used French style/cut green beans under sauce instead of pasta - they are pretty delicious - and their slight furriness holds the sauce very well!

But I'm sillier than you guys….
Pasta holds sauce, right?
But rice holds sauce better than pasta… so you can fit MORE sauce on rice than you can on pasta!
Therefore rice is better than pasta for sauce carrying purposes to maximize sauce!
But cauli rice is just as good as rice and soooo much better for calories than rice.
Therefore pasta < rice < cauli rice
Ergo, QED, and KLMNOP: caulie rice is THE sauce carrying vehicle of choice!
(well: other than spiralized beets or carrot sticks or green beans, or anything else I decide to use on that particular day which obviously would be better for that day!!!! 😁🤣😁🤣)1 -
5 teriyaki pineapple chicken meatballs, pack of egg white noodles, green onion, sauteed veg and soy sauce

Found a stray pot of chicken risotto in freezer …. Defrosted & Bob’s your uncle! Padded it out with kale & broccoli! 😋

Anyone ever make self-rising flour from all purpose by adding BP & salt? Did it work ok?
Saw a couple vids using it for stovetop pizza.
Still want to pick up bread flour (higher protein) to try a couple Italian bread vids I watched.
--not having ingredients is a great way to procrastinate trying something a little scary… lol

I showed that cake to nephew who had showed me the tuna bread, and they have expanded into all sorts of mock things in their carnivore pursuits. (and, singing praises almost 6 mos in. I remain leary… i could live on the world of other foods out there.)
