I wish I could make myself like shrimp in some way other than tempura deep fried with a nice sweet & sour sauce.

Tha bang for your buck both in actual money and for protein per calories is so good

Shrimp in (garlic) tomato sauce. (w/feta on top if splurging big time) — as a suggestion for Nic :)

fluffed up with cauli rice for extra bunnies and bulk… or as is?

I've tried repeatedly. The only way I can tolerate shrimp is the little cold ones with super horseradish cocktail sauce (which ends up higher carb than I want) and the aforementioned tempura.

Shrimp otherwise literally makes me gag.

I don't tolerate particular foods, not worth trying again, ever, off my approved foods list ;)

    Today:

2 big mugs that are half coffee and half of a chocolate protein milk.

Cottage cheese with chili lime quest chips and salsa (note: I will not buy the chili lime ones again)

Leftover steak with a frozen fire-roasted veggie mix

    Apple pie Greek yogurt

    Chai with milk x2

Chicken Paella - made with the last of the leftover roast chicken with chorizo, king prawns and Argentinian shrimp - was inspired by all mention of the shrimp on here!
Even managed to get the “soccarrat” finish… was lovely, but calorific!
Not mentioning all the snacking dates I’ve consumed inbetween!

W o w ! that sounds awesome! Why colorific? The chorizo? Ahhh… the rice! :-) You did sooo good if you made it so perfect!

Dates — you never know where a date can lead you to! 😋

Dates led me to figs, lol

Love paella - now I want that too!! Saw a cooking show that made it in cast iron on a charcoal grill... maybe Americas test kitchen or their Cooks Country show. Haven't found a round pan to use, yet.

Costco has some Greenridge 50% whatevers better beefsticks we tried, like and have been using for flavor instead of regulars like bacon, chorizo.

Next, fixin to try the uncured turkey bacon we spotted there.

Tonight I am going to finish up the stuff I made this weekend for a snack plate. Then tomorrow I am making the Red Lentil Curry again with rice and naan. That will take me through the week. I would love to freeze some and I think I can fit some in the poor overloaded freezer, but not sure the best way to pack it up.

Lunch portion has been consumed and the rest is in the fridge! Evening portion will be getting some extra ham or tofu or something! Big splurge on the premade "rice with lentils and quinoa" but it was expiring soon! I split it half and half between the lunch and evening portions.

bunnies with ham and tomato sauce… with rice, lentils and quinoa mixed in!

Last time I bought it…. it was "2.29 is too much to pay for this wait for a sale!" 🤬

That looks quick & easy and yummy! I like to get a package of pre-cooked lentils for salads in summer, and keep a package of precooked rice year round. Haven't looked for blends beyond dirty rice, a childhood fav.

Quit waiting ….. I can recall a time when a pack of smokes and a gallon of gas were both 35 cents. And that ain’t ever going to happen again!

Good old standby: eggs, egg whites, onions, granulated garlic, yellow mustard, sriracha, mustard powder, lemon pepper, 0% greek yogurt = May 30 egg salad!
