Food inspiration, or what's for supper?

I resorted to protein powder in morning coffee, added into yogurt because I tend to be short on protein. I have no problem finding carbs, I am inclined to dine on treats and desserts... so the whey protein powder helps.
Although the pre-mix protein was tasty enough and rang a certain bell, it was a bit pricey, so not sure it will become frequent for myself. If dh has the wls, can see how variety would be helpful for him.

Last night (and tonight) was a pork chop, stuffing, and green beans.

Grilled chicken breast, with a mushroom/parmesan/cottage cheese sauce and egg white noodles

@yakkystuff that soup looks awesome. The nuts would totally run away from me. It's not that I don't eat nuts, of course I do… but they're definitely in the single pack portions list! ;-) Chilled Watermelon is awesome.
I did do a lot of protein bars (substituting for candy bars) and protein drinks… I've found that in general I am able to keep to my 120-ish -g of protein if I am not overdoing my candy bars and having the occasional yogurt. And when I don't, I am usually still well above CONCERNING minimums though nowhere near as high as I would aim for!

When I started trying to pair a carb with protein, realized protein was a struggle to find something I wanted, whereas on the flipside, struggled to limit the carbs.
I did protein bars for awhile with tbsp pb. Cheesesticks with apples sounded good but didn't jive, found single serve yogurts with added protein powder helpful…
More experienced now but the preference issues linger... left to my prior eating, i was reaching for fav carbs - salty or sweet ;)
Dinner tonight rest of wild rice soup loaded with mixed veg and salmon.
Indulged with a 200cal croissant, so probably skip the snack tonight.

Made tuna & chickpea patties - put a bit of chilli in for some kick.
Came out as thin fishcakes without the addition of breadcrumbs - the delicious bit 😀😬.
2 at approx 200 kcals each as fries them in evo and served with a big green salad.
Massive rhubarb crop - 2nd this year - made some rhubarb strawberry jam, using Stevia rather than sugar and vegan gelatine (who knew?) instead of pectin. Is amazing - approx 3 kals per 10g. Wish the toast and butter calories could vanish 😉😳Edited for spelling / keyboard haste😝

It all (tasty foods) has the ability to run away with me. The lodge is always trying to send excess goodies home, but I just can't moderate the breads, cakes, pastries if in the home.
A friend handed me the most ginormous cabbage though, so beyond cabbage soup, what? Checking out ideas today. Likely rollups for me and meatballs for hubby. Stuck there though.
Creamtea - memories! Mom did tuna patties, and loved her rhubarb pies/jams. Grams mixed with strawberries. Have not tried a vegan gelaine.

I do a deconstructed cabbage roll casserole in a skillet on the stovetop. All the ingredients precooked and mixed with chopped cabbage 🥬

@Yoolypr - ooh, good idea
Everything was looking like a lot of muss & fuss. Deconstructed sounds just easier

yup - cook the meat, add tomatoes and whatever, cabbage- serve on cooked rice. Sometimes I skip the rice and it’s still good.

You can stir fry the cabbage even with very little oil spray?
Looking at my stuff, I would stir fry one or two panfuls (out of my biggest frying pan) of cabbage, possibly with a little bit of extra onion. Then I would mix it all in to a single pouch of 450 calorie glass noodle stir fry from Costco and that will have volumed up quite a bit while probably staying under 650 calories in total. Plus loads of bunnies!!!!

Ha! @yakkystuff prompted late lunch, I guess, for me (started eating a bit after 14:00) about 750 Cal (41% of a batch of veggies still sitting in the fridge plus a pouch of the expensive in calories noodles! Would have been more economical with riced veggies!😜) will see about pic when done eating!!🤣)

Looks really good Pav. I haven't tried those noodles. Agree about cauli-rice, I enjoy the extra volume when I have it.

Greek yogurt with raspberries and some vanilla protein powder, a smidgen of fudge my daughters brought home from the beach, half a leftover baked potato with just a little butter and sour cream, and a decaf latte with SF cinnamon brown-sugar syrup. Dinner of champions.

All sounds good Nic
Home cooked bowl tonight, spiced meat, spot of rice, chili spiced kidney beans and lots of vegs.
Dished separately then stirred. Will use the various batch cooked components in various ways this week.
Rinsed beans - reduces sodium a bit.

My plan for this week is:
Tonight: Chicken reuben with sauteed fresh green beans (this may change because I forgot I had a hair cut after work)
Tomorrow/Wednesday: Teriyaki chicken, rice, and stir fried veggies
Thursday/Friday: Mexican turkey burgers and roasted potatoes

Congrats on the excellent planning Athijade! Thinking ahead is really a helpful skill for weight loss.

Wow re Jade plans and I like the colors from yakky's stuff!😎
Yakky? Did you double log your ground beef???🤣 (I sometimes intentionally split into two entries with different calories and macros so as to get an average value for my total but your stuff looks the exact same macros and calories for both entries at first blush!)

Homemade chicken salad on a bed of lettuce. Bbq crackers. Good meal for a hot humid day 🥵🔥

Oh Pav, haha I did 2x the beef... kinda thought it was running higher than I had guessed in my head.
— I was curious and focused on the ground pork - a new to me item -
Athijade - all sounds good! Now I'm daydreaming Reubens. Lol

Mine was less adventurous tonight! Emergency boiled 473g zucchini because one went bad! Ate half of it sliced into rounds and covered with lemon pepper while slicing/mushing the other half in tiny pieces and adding it to a 450 Cal Crave Cajun chicken / sausage pasta dinner. Thanks to the zoo the dinner might last me long enough!!!

Little tip on extending the life of cucumbers, squash and the like.Wrap each veggie individually with plastic wrap- tightly before refrigerating. Like the fancy expensive ones at the grocery store. Really makes them last longer
2 -
Thanks Yooly. Now that you mention it, the English cucumber I bought at the same time (which came wrapped like in your pic) is fine, but one out of the three zoos got the fuzzies.
The other two were goodly good! And (even though I am a silly bugger)😂🤣 dead simple to "cook". So I'm thinking of getting more!
Definition of silly bugger: person who puts water boiler/electric kettle on to boil water because looking for a pot to fit on the stove would be "too much work!".
Then cuts Zoo into pieces, covers them with boiling water inside glass lock containers. Decides they are not cooking fast enough, so nukes one for 4 minutes together with a frozen dinner.... approves of plain zoo with lemon pepper.... nukes rest of zoo while munching on the 50% already cooked zoo and working on reducing the rest to little pieces (eating while cooking multitasking 😜!) and then fluffs up the frozen dinner using the chopped zoo before giving it all a last nuke to bring it all up to dinner temperature before eating! And doing all this while hidding from the dog!!!🤣🤣🤣
Silly bugger could probably cook a whole meal from scratch during the timeline in question using conventional cooking "techniques"!🤣🤣🤣🤣

Lol
I just kitchen sinked fridge remainders for my lunch salad to end up a full dw load! Now to get batch cookin. Thawing tenderloins. Haben't figured what else I can add to the pan.
For my ginormous cabbage, going to wedge it, pours some spaghetti sauce on top, bake to tender.

You do know you can eat zucchini RAW. No need for boiling. Throw raw chopped zucchini right into the frozen dinner after it’s cooked. Voila!

lots of lettuce today……

eat zucchini RAW
eeeeeeek!
But it tastes better cooked! :) (and even better if it is smaller in diameter, or one of the "zebra" stripped ones ;-)

Maybe in soup or stews. But otherwise I always eat squashes raw - sliced, chopped, pickled…
