You're human, no excuse required. I guess if we were happy 100% of the time, it'd stop feeling good?
We've got to empty the spare bedroom tonight - which means dismantling an Ikea day bed so that'll take a few hours - because we have a plasterer coming to do the ceiling tomorrow. He only came round to quote us this afternoon! I'm running with a friend soon when I finish work so I hope that clears my head as I don't think there'll be much free time tonight. The muffins still aren't made... luckily the eggs are good for another week.2 -
THE IDEA LOUNGE
This is where to bring your ideas, suggestions, musings, and ruminations! Everyone in the F2F community is welcome to be heard. What kind of ideas?
Challenges - We have tried several ways to keep fresh and interesting challenges happening every week. The best so far is to gather what everybody thinks would work. Post your ideas, even if they are just sketches. We will collect them all and share the full list to flesh them out and make some really useful and strong challenges. Why challenges? There is nothing better to help keep the energy and commitment high, and the discouragement and staleness low. They are optional but really helpful. Tell us which ones you like, or what new ideas you'd like to see.
Suggestions - this is wide open! What would make F2F better? What bugs you? What works really well? Take some time to look around on other teams than your own, and if you see something you'd like your team to try, suggest it! Or if you think of ways we can improve communication, reward the right kind of progress, or make the community more welcoming and effective. Spill!2 -
@Gidgitgoescrazy You are absolutely welcome to join me on my 10 day challenge! Too many gray days, our football teams are out of the playoffs...sheesh!
@jugar Happy Birthday! 🎂 🥳 ❄1 -
@Gidgitgoescrazy and @conleywoods I wish I could invite you up to my snowy and yes, sunny paradise! I had a completely wild toboggan ride with the big box of recycling to the bottom of the hill this morning. There was one wipe-out, but I blame my braking technique. Or maybe my toboggan needs an alignment. Of course, pulling it back up with 2 heavy boxes of groceries and the empty recycling bin was less fun, but very virtuous!
Thanks for the birthday wishes, everyone. I actually had the first completely cakeless birthday of my life, but the sauna in the evening more than made up for that. And a glass of wine!
Some great weigh-ins, people! You're amazing.
@Kali225
No need to have the slightest disappointment in losing 1.4 pounds in the week after losing 6.3! I cannot count the times that I have seen serious rebounds after serious losses. I have been the keeper of the spreadsheets for these 6 teams for quite a long time now, and it happens a lot. It takes discipline to keep it from happening, so take a deep bow, m'dear. Don't let the tiara fall off, though. And don't worry if you plateau for a bit. A week or 2 for you body to adjust to the new reality. You and @fuschiabolero just hit 50 POUNDS LOST!!! And @happimess01 has crossed over 100! You are all amazing.5 -

Today I got my 1 hour workout in. I stayed under calories and no sugary treats. I also did not have any evening snacks! Feeling good about today. @jugar I would love to visit your winter wonderland. I am really sad we haven't had one day like that here. Every once in a while we have a mild winter like this. At least today wasn't dark gray. We had a tease of sun in the morning and then a light gray day. I guess thats better! Ha5

@jugar - Happy (late) Birthday - even without cake it sounds like you had a great time! Maybe the snow was an extra present just for you! I am going to check out the books you recommended nice to have a little bounce in your steps!
@conleywoods I love those cards - they look very encouraging!
@Gidgitgoescrazy - good job on recognizing the funk and then starting to pull your self out of it
Today in Lux the snow has melted and its warm enough to be outside! So exciting! I'm going for a short run soon and hoping the endorphins start flowing!5 -

I moved my scale twice, just to make sure. I did eat spaghetti, but it fit into my macros.4 -
Okay, on a roll here, yesterday was a good day, atleast with food, and since food is how you lose weight and my focus for the month, I did great ! I didn't have an actual dinner, because I went to get my hair done after work, and that takes 2 hours, so I didn't get home until 7.30 - so I had a protein bar right before I left work, then had some popcorn when I got home, I know not a real meal, but....
I had every intention of exercising this morning, but spent it cleaning up after this stupid cat, She has bladder stones, and is scheduled for surgery on Feb 2nd, but she is displaying a bunch of inappropriate behaviors, and it's really starting to get on my last nerve, I really hope this surgery fixes these issues, or I'm not sure what is going to happen to her...
Anyway, today is on schedule to be a good day too... I think tonight, I will try to get a long yoga session in, and get my Zen on !
Anyway, Happy New President day to my fellow Americans ! Hope you have a wonderful day !7 -

Finally fully recovered from my holiday overindulging. I think my success this week is fully due to the amount of snow we had to shovel. Sorry @conleywoods that you don't have any snow yourself. It's beautiful, but a ton of work! I'm off right now to keep clearing off the rest of the outdoor rink from the last snow storm before another 5 inches falls tomorrow.
@KellyBgetsfit the spaghetti did you in! It takes longer to digest and pass through than you'd expect. You'll weigh yourself tomorrow and will shake your head.
Hope everything stays peaceful today in the US, have a great day everyone.4 -

Big Sigh - it is what it is. So disappointed but been very stressful here and I pretty much threw a few days away and it reflects on the scale. But total for the year so far is still a loss. Just pulling up my big girls pantys and moving forward.4 -
I have been struggling mentally with the slowdown in my weight loss over the last month and a half or so. I know slowdowns and plateaus are totally normal, but it frustrates me. I am trying really hard to really stay on track the rest of this month. So, my goals for the rest of January:
-Stay in calorie goal and do not eat back exercise calories. (Exception for Friday nights when my son and I always order out, I will probably eat back some exercise calories)
-walk at least 10k steps at work, no exceptions. And at least 30 min of exercise on days off when I dont get the steps in
-dont grocery shop while hungry because it is too easy to give in to buying junk food5 -
@jugar CW 187
It had been down a touch for a day or so but then this morning, back to 187. So, here we are!
My food choices have been pretty good except for the batch of no-bake oat cookies I made. I'm sure they're too much for me since I had to spend more time in the bathroom but, I enjoyed those I had none-the-less!
I'm heading out for a walk in the quasi-sunshine. Wowza! first time in ages.
Look out, Fitbit crew. I'm on your tails today!1 -

Didnt eat back any exercise calories, feeling good about my food choices. I can sometimes have issues with eating too many carbs and not enough protein but my macros were pretty good today.6 -
I had a successful day today. Food was on track with no sugar, dinner was the last meal of the day and calories were under. Did 45 minutes of ballet tonight with my mother in law and daughter.
I'm so glad that today we had a peaceful transfer of power here in the US. It has been quite the roller coaster ride lately. Hopefully we can shift our focus to other things now.
I'm working on setting up goals for my next action plan (I have 6 under my main annual goal). I have stuff started for balancing my macros. Next I want to work on being consistent with food. Right now I'm journaling on the topic. This really helps me zero in on what this topic means to me and the specific areas that need to be addressed. Once I complete this process I will write a measurable goal and break it into smaller steps.
I was reading through the posts from @jugar and @MandiSaysHey about having the one free day or meal vs. Small daily treats. I spent some time journaling on this topic but haven't come to any conclusions yet 🤔.
What do the rest of you like to do? Can you delay gratification all week for a bigger treat? Do daily treats lead to more snacking or keep cravings at bay? Love to hear other insights on this topic.3 -
@MandiSaysHey It is frustrating when our weight loss slows down! I hear you and many other here get what you're going through. Our bodies are smart and want to adapt. Look for other ways to measure progress besides the scale can really help. Having a plan and something to work on is also very helpful. Hang in there.3

Currently I have so many calories available to me (it feels like it, anyway! 1923 a day) that if I didn't snack on a daily basis I'd never get through them. I can tell I'm still snacking sometimes out of habit rather than hunger, but I guess as my calorie goal drops, the snacking will reduce/change anyway.2
