Another Friday coming up! I did finish writing that letter this afternoon, got it scanned and sent off. And I got a good bunch of walking in. Not too bad of a day.
Sending big hugs to @Kali225 and @ells_runs - take good care of yourselves, sleep well

Errr, it was down to 218.2 the other day. Having no power definitely complicates meals. We are out for a couple more days 😢 I went and bought a propane outdoor oven today 🤣🤣🤣 We are out of power fairly often so it was time. It's so teeny tiny and cute😍 Can't wait to use it tomorrow. It was a really busy day at work. We are missing so many people so it was a rush to get a few things situated. I totally forgot to get dog food tonight 🙃 My dogs are so happy they each got a bowl full of dog biscuits instead. No workout today, it's my rest day. Tomorrow I'm gonna get myself organized and definitely buy some dog food 😌6 -

Very happy considering I was aiming to maintain. I hope I can keep this up. My head hasn't been in it.
Did manage 2 runs this week, which felt good!7 -

Whoooo hooooo... FINALLY A nice loss. I’ll take it.. I have been 100% focused. Making my own food not eating what my cousin has been making and not caving to the cake, ice cream, cookies and donuts she keeps buying because “she knows I like it” 🙄... I was planning on ordering lunch today because it’s Friday instead I packed!! We do have plans of going out to dinner on Sunday.. so I’ll be looking at the menu and trying to figure out good options!!
Any good suggestions for Texas Roadhouse? that is NOT seafood?!?!7 -
Happy Friday!
Its lunchtime and I've finished work for the week, which is much appreciated after the brain-drain that was yesterday. Finished 2 hours late, feeling like a zombie, but made myself do a dance workout and met my other goals.
More home made soup for lunch today, then I'll go do the food shop at the butchers and supermarket. Will be running or working out this evening, I'm getting to the point where I look forward to the running. The workouts still involve more mental effort to plan them so I'm not really in the flow yet.6 -
Good morning! Happy Friyay!!!!
@SMcFall0215 It’s been SO long since I’ve been to Texas Roadhouse I started drooling 🤤 at the thought!! Haha
@Pearl4686 You got this! 💪🏼
Have a great day my friends!5 -

How many minutes of barbells? you're doing great - and the BEST antidote to over 50 knee pain is strength. Take care of it, but strengthen all the muscles around it and it will be happy again2 -

Happy Friday friends!
I've moved from Hello Fresh to Mindful Chef twice a week, and we got our first Mindful Chef box yesterday. My goodness, the difference in taste, quality ingredients and satisfaction is the difference between night and day. Tasty meals around 600 calories each - what's not to like?
This morning I did a sweaty 12 minute Tabata workout before continuing with my January yoga challenge - it felt good, but tomorrow morning I think I'll do a dance workout instead!
@Pearl4686 I wish I could run - but my knees really don't like it! Dead jealous of your two runs this week!
@ells_runs I'm with you on the drinking on a school night! I'm normally very strict and tend not to drink during the week, but for some reason I slipped up a couple of times this week (Monday and Tuesday). Line drawn in the sand!
Enjoy the rest of your day, Friends!5 -
Hi all! I have a new goal. The new remake of All Things Great and Small is on Masterpiece. Always loved the original series way back and the new one with the glorious countryside is inspiring. I've learned there's a "Herriots way walk" 50 miles spread out over 4 days in the Yorkshire Dales - when travel is easier, and my life lets up a bit, going to do that walk with a friend who just needs to get her over 50 swollen knee in better shape. https://www.herriotway.com/route/. I did the West Highland Way a couple decades ago and love that sort of hike.
In the meantime, with heavy rain in the forecast for tomorrow, I'm going to drag myself out of the warm house and get a walk in before it gets too dark.

Great loss, AGAIN!!!!
thank you! It's definitely going well. I feel fortunate that there is no sign of a plateau so far. I am mostly eating the same way I was eating 6 months ago, except that I have a tub of icecream(low calorie) every alternate day now4 -
Met all goals. Steps today 13,145.4

@eggfreak and @micki48 The lady running my Facebook group for my workout program is in her 50s. She is killing it. I will be 56 when Mabel graduates high school. Thinking about that is my current why. I want to be able to keep up with my kids...and grandkids, since my oldest is 16.
I have had a great week. I am enjoying my workouts. I am getting up from my desk every hour and waking up and down the stairs. I go back to in person learning on Tuesday and then we are virtual next Friday because we (teachers) are able to get the vaccine, if we want. I am signed up for 10am.6 -
Hi all!
I had a wonderful walk this afternoon - I was just going to walk to the mailbox and back (a mile each way), but it was beautiful out, so I kept going, took a skidoo trail up into the woods until I hit one of my snowshoe tracks and kept on going. It is quite a high ridge to climb, but then I get back onto our land, and made it home just as it was getting dark. It sure made me hustle along - new moon was last night, so it gets really dark!
There are a few Friday weigh-ins still due - it is getting dark on week 2 also, so hustle now!

Week 3 starts Sunday, and Week 3 is often the toughest one of the month. Look back to your enthusiastic commitments from the beginning of the month. What is still working? What are you struggling with, if anything? Any changes to make? Let's try to keep the January energy flowing so that those green numbers at the end of the month show the effect of your efforts.3 -
Turns out the downside to having husband around while I get my cardio on is... he makes me giggle! I can't do anything when I laugh. I become utterly helpless.
He made me try a song I can't beat yet on double speed so he could laugh at me flailing. =D
I am lacking in stamina. I gotta grind stats.6 -

les mills barbell yesterday was for 60 minutes at a medium level and 10,240 steps
today - walked for 30 minutes and stretch with 10,072 steps
I am going to work on strengthening my muscles around my knee this weekend.
Have a great weekend everyone! I cannot believe we are starting week 3. Wow!

Yeah! I have been maintaining my focus on eating real food and having a dry January. All's good for now. I have few cravings with the exception of coffee, but I think that's because its cold here. Like to see the this progress finally.
One thing that I have noticed is my heart rate is rather lower than it has been in the past, for most of January it has been at ~52 bpm. In the past its been in the 60's even when I ran frequently - I'm not concerned health wise just curious... any ideas?9 -

Well, you gave up caffeine. That can make a difference. How’s your hydration? Have you read anything about bradycardia? Check out “.org” or “.edu” sources for more accurate information. If it seems too low and worrisome, report to your doctor, just to have it on record, if nothing else.

I was hoping that holiday weight would be gone quicker, but its coming off and thats all that matters...
So we hired my replacement at work, she started yesterday so I had to spend the day with her, I am a thru and thru introvert, so that type of stuff is incredibly draining, and she likes to complain about how rough her life is, and I have a hard time commiserating with issues that can be changed easily, but I kept it professional and sincere.. So again that was draining... I came home and don't think I said 30 words, I wanted a glass of wine but didn't do it...
I am spending this weekend in a bubble, except to go watch the Ravens game tonight with my sister in law, so I'm definitely looking forward to that...
I will do some sort of exercise today and tomorrow, I just don't have an actual plan yet...
Hope you have a wonderful day !10 -
@YinxFed are you doing the Yoga with Adriene Breath journey this month? I thought I saw you mention Adriene - I am too!! I absolutely adore her, this is the first year I've done her January thing. Loving it so far.
@micki48 my steps this week so far:
Glad we started another fitbite challenge for Monday! I actually barely beat my dad, by about 1k steps, although my mom and sister could not keep up in my family challenge haha.
Rainy Saturday here which is a bit of a bummer as I have lots of errands to run and I am definitely walking for them. Praise large umbrellas.

Happy Saturday! Snow mixed with rain back to snow - a good day to hang out inside and bake bread, right? I have to go out this afternoon, but right now I'm sticking inside for a while.
@Kali225 You beat us all fair and square this week on our fitbit challenge! I sure found myself adding steps to attempt to keep up with you. I really enjoyed the moments before you synced every day and I hit the top spot a couple of times! You and @eggfreak gave me a lot of inspiration. Thanks!
Speaking of exercise habits, I started using my exercise bike quite late in the evening. I don't really enjoy just sitting to watch anything on a screen, but I like biking while I do it. It helps especially during the winter when I can't go out for as many hours, but I do not like doing it during the day. So I moved it to the time I would normally be watching something. At first, it made it harder to sleep. Now, though, I feel weird going to bed without a good 10 miles done while watching some crazy (usually European) exciting episode of something. I sleep great now that my body got used to it. Does anyone else exercise in the last hour or two before going to bed?
@Gidgitgoescrazy
Glad you're able to climb back into the bubble. The bubble is the best place, but it is good to get all those work things done. And no wine - you're doing great!
OK - no more sitting now

CW 196 (I kid you not)
I'm happy that I am maintaining. I have not been super focused. It's good to know that I have mostly figured out how to maintain, without thinking about it too much. At some point, I hope my focus can be laser sharp again and I can get back to losing some weight. I was a bit lower yesterday, but that was not my official weigh in day.
Glad to have our step challenge on fitbit this week. You all are stepping beasts!! I sent you all a new challenge for next week.4 -
@conleywoods You made me laugh out loud with the bowl full of dog biscuits!! I know they were happy.
We once tore up newspaper when we ran out of cat litter. Not quite the same bit of funny, but innovative just the same.

Nice loss, Steph. Heart rates do move up and down. I noticed once when I was getting sick, it went way up. But you are still getting lots of steps. I notice just a bit of regular walking gets my HR to go down. I have also had some dips into the 50s lately. Maybe it's a planetary thing.;)
Had a long zoom call with my bff this morning talking politics. Now I really need to get moving. It's been a slow moving day, which is fine. I give myself permission to do that. I do need to get the last of the outside Christmas decorations down. Couldn't when it was raining. I see sun now.
Peace4
