    @Katmary71 The Son of Good Fortune was really good, I would highly recommend it. I would have ended up taking books back with me, too lol.

    @trooworld Glad I'm not the only one who can't resist books!

    @PKM0515 Was The Woman in the Window one you recommended? I just started it, it's good so far. I'm having trouble downloading books through Overdrive for some reason though, I have no clue why but I'm going to call the library next time and find out what's going on.

    Kathy, yes, I did recommend "The Woman in the Window." I loved that one.

    I've had issues on and off with Overdrive, too, Kathy. And don't get me started on Hoopla!

    I just finished "The Last Time I Lied" by Riley Sager. If you like suspense, I definitely recommend this.

    @PKM0515 The Woman in the Window is the first book that's sucked me in recently, I really enjoy it. Thanks for the recommendation!

    You're welcome, Kathy!

    Ugh! I'm listening to "The Dream Unfolds" by Barbara Delinsky, but I can't wait to be done with it. I need to find out what year it was written. It's definitely NOT new. [When was it appropriate to tell the 15-year-old daughter of the woman you're dating, "(You have) nice legs"?!?!?] 😖

    @PKM0515 Ick! LOL

    Hi all. I forgot to say I finished Get a Life, Chloe Brown: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/43884209-get-a-life-chloe-brown . If you like romances that get a little steamy, you might like this one. I liked that the main character has chronic health problems and I identified with her somewhat. I may or may not read the rest of the books in the series, romance isn't really a genre that I read a lot of.

    It's back at the library. I just couldn't take anymore of it. 😠

    Well, I definitely didn't think it was appropriate for a 39 year old man to tell a 15 year old girl that she had nice legs! 😖

    Obviously, this was written in a different era, but imo there was blatant sexism. Patting a waitress "on the rump"? Lots of other examples from the "hero" of the book. And the sex scenes weren't "enticing" from my point of view; I found them ridiculous.

    This one just got on my nerves. To give you an idea of the timeframe, no cells phones. Apparently, car phones were a new thing at the time this was written.

    @PKM0515 Oh dear, that does sound like a problem book! I hope your next one is a better read.

    @PKM0515 Yikes, what the heck?! LOL, if I get a rump pat someone's getting hit. That's why I don't like some of the period romances because they focus on making the woman attractive to the man as her man source of self-fulfillment. Sorry but you're not going to be pretty when you're old so if all you care about is being attractive to men you're going to be sorely disappointed when you're old even if you DO have the money to have a ton of plastic surgery.

    I'm reading Steven King's Later right now, no thoughts on it yet, he sees dead people. Not too original yet!

    I'm reading "The Friends We Keep" by Susan Mallery. It's the second book in her Mischief Bay series. I've read the first, third, and fourth already.

    @PKM0515 Hm, I think I've been mixing that series up with a different one, the one I was thinking of has a Native American who worked on a ship or boat that gets swept under the water because of someone's mistakes and has some psychic powers afterward, she's disabled and has trouble walking. A second character is a librarian. I have no clue what series that is now, I'll have to ask my mom.

    I'm still on Stephen King's Later, my mom brought me a Susan Wigs novel plus I picked up a couple for $1 at Dollar Tree, I can't walk past displays of books, tea, or beauty products!

    @Katmary71

    I get annoyed with the characters, but I really enjoy the Mischief Bay series in spite of that. There's something enjoyable about them. I'm not familiar with the series you mentioned.

    Do you like Susan Wigs? I see her so often, but for some reason I've never read one of her books.

    (Sorry, a bit off-topic: I need to spend more time looking at the books and movies at Dollar Tree. I know this sounds funny, but I feel like I "just" discovered dollar tree. What else do you like to buy there? Do you ever by the food items?)

    @PKM0515 I went there for cards and a bag for my Dad's Father's Day gift and those books were smiling at me!

    I just finished Stephen King's Later, I'd rate it a 6/10. I was bored waiting for things to water at the food bank farm so I walked to the food bank where there's a lending library and brought home a couple books. Now I can't decide what I want to read next, I guess I'll read one that just became available through the library first. Either @PKM0515 or @trooworld recommended it but heck if I remember the name, I'm surprised I remember my own name sometimes! I know Liv Constantine is one waiting to be read through the library though.

    Hi ladies. I'm reading a book called "Ring Shout" in which the Ku Klux Klan members are actual monsters. It's a novella and it's gotten a lot of buzz. It shouldn't take me long to read. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/49247242-ring-shout

    @trooworld That sounds good, I'd love to hear what you think of it!

    I finished Flowers in the Darkness, I almost threw the book across the room when I realized what the ending was. @PKM0515 Do you want to discuss it? Honestly, I wouldn't recommend it, I know things get sticky in relationships with the death of a child but her husband married her after his death and should've worked on pulling her out of her depression before he repeatedly cheated then made his perfect love toy. Next time he's recharging his robot he should take a bath with her. His letter to her was all about him and nothing about her which is the entire problem with him, he only cares about himself.

    I downloaded a few random books from the library last night, Michael J Fox's autobiography, a book in astrology (a friend of mine is really into it so I want to be able to hold a conversation with her), and a few others. I started the astrology book last night. My only thing to do today is feed my brother's pets (I hang out with the cat for a bit and drink a Diet Pepsi) so I plan to do a lot of reading and play some music on my keyboard. I know one was psych suspense but I don't remember what it was about now.

    @Katmary71 Okay, I'll let you know. I'm still listening to it, I haven't been reading/listening to books as much lately, been busy doing other things. That's too bad that the ending sucked in Flowers in the Darkness. I hope your next book is better. :)

    That was a very strange book! I thought it made some interesting points, but it got quite weird, didn't it? I also didn't care for the grand-daughter.

    I finished the Susan Mallery book I was reading. It was enjoyable, but not great.

    I'm now reading:

    https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/51171999-the-safe-place

    P.S. I know that Flowers of Darkness had some points that I thought would be interesting to discuss from a sociological perspective. Sadly, my memory isn't what it used to be, and I would need a refresher, which I'm not inclined to pursue.

    @PKM0515 That book sounds good, let me know what you think!

    @trooworld I hope you're doing fun stuff!

    Michael J. Fox's book is pretty good, the astrology book wasn't bad but I didn't have my chart on hand which is what you need when you read it. I think she got jilted by a Libra because after the third insult I let slide I was like Hey Lady!

    @Katmary71 I have been, I've been making art! Two of my paintings that I've created lately got accepted into a local show and one of the paintings got an honorable mention in the show, so I'm pretty happy and excited! That's funny about the astrology book...I'm a libra!

    @trooworld Congratulations! How exciting, I would love to see them if you're comfortable posting them!

    How funny, I think it was Linda Goodman who described Libra women as looking delicate but having a mind like a steel trap. This author said Libras like to be center stage and constantly admired and are shallow. I HATE being the center of attention, I'm more the person behind the scenes. I like not being taken for granted but compliments make me uncomfortable. They all say we're the bookworms of the zodiac and have big libraries.

    @Katmary71 If you message me with your email address, I will send you pics of the pieces that got in. That's funny about what Linda Goodman says about libras! I don't feel like that describes me at all either.

    Will do!

    I'm reading The Last Mrs. Parrish. It's almost unreadable, I hate the main character. I was going to stop reading it but the third part is from the wife so I'm hoping she's going to absolutely destroy the main character. The main character became her best friend to seduce her husband, they didn't even give her a backstory to feel sorry for her so I hope she utterly ruins her and her husband! If he was stupid enough to be stolen she's better off without both of them.

    Kathy, have you ever read Riley Sager? You might like his books. I recently finished "Last Time I Lied" and I really enjoyed "Lock Every Door."

    @PKM0515 I just downloaded one from the library and placed a hold on another, thank you! I've never read him before.

    I finished The Last Mrs. Parrish, it was average but entertaining. Next up is Dr. Death from Dean Koontz then the Riley Sager. I think the one that I was able to get right away was Lock Every Door.

    I'm reading one now called American Pain, it's about the opioid crisis in Florida. I read the Dean Koontz one last night and finished it this morning, it was more of a novella.
