@DaffyGirl88 Thank you! We're not having a honeymoon, but a nice long weekend together. It will be nice!

@annabananamc thank you! And you've had three? That must have an interesting story! It sounds like you had a great relaxing Sunday, and it is so wonderful that your husband helped you by making dinner and prepping!

@richmondwriter thank you so much! I will definitely post pictures when I can!

    @Krysless2 how is your back???

Every day gets better, thank you Christine! Hot baths mixed with very long very delicate flex sessions and an occasional back massager and I’m almost fully healed! This time was definitely not as bad as I have had in the past so I’m very thankful it’s healing in time for my brothers wedding on Saturday! Could you imagine giving a speech with a tightened back muscle??

Good morning, TBBT. Sorry I have been a little quiet...weekends I don't come on for long, and this was also a long weekend (provincial Family Day yesterday). We saw my parents on Sunday, and they were really needing that day of socialization. My Dad, who does not like to spend money, went to the Liquor Store and bought Baileys and went to the Beer Store (yes...we have to go to separate stores here in Canada!) and bought a case of beer. Covid be damned...I am not going to let that much time pass again before I see them! Of course, everyone and their dog was trying to order take-out from the very limited restaurant choices in town, so we were relegated to KFC. So not worth the calories (the fries were stone cold), but I was only over by about 500 for the day! Stayed under my calories on Friday, Saturday and Monday, but other than some yoga stretching on Friday, I have not done any formal exercise. But I am okay with that right now.

I hope that everyone that lost their power due to the snow storms yesterday has it back up and running! It's crazy, but Texas was colder than my little piece of Canada yesterday!

@cmhubbard92, as someone who is the mother of sons, and the odds of either one of them getting married any time soon are almost zero, I would so love a photo of you in your wedding dress, if you are so inclined! And you be as absent as you need to be....your wedding preparation tops all other commitments this week!! We will hold down the fort!!

I just love your posts Lisa thank you for always being so thoughtful! I gain so much insight... even when you’re not speaking to me! Lol

I too would love to see your wedding photos Christine! Please, if you’re so inclined.
‘Tis the season to get married I suppose! I am the matron of honor in my brothers wedding on Saturday and I’ll definitely post some pictures for my TBBT family! I’m also doubly excited because I’m finally in a wedding where I feel comfortable in my dress without having to painfully tack my parts into it!! (Yes I’m including my own wedding in this category!) Love is in the air🥰💗😍❤️😘

@HASWLRS - Lisa, that sounds like a wonderful Family Day! 500 over is not bad for KFC!

@mooreshelly09 - How are you doing in the storm? Do you have power? My Mom, who lives outside of Houston, is one of the controlled outages - grrr. You'd think they would avoid doing that to a 55+ community.

Krysless2 - yes, please post your photos, too! You and Christine will both be feeling great in your dresses! I am glad your back is improving.

Just realized, the loss of electricity through me off of the planned salad idea this week. I'll jump on board next week.

@richmondwriter Good so far (knock on wood) we have not lost power yet. Thank goodness I am able to work from home. I'm the bookkeeper for a construction company, so if anyone has a hope of a paycheck on Friday my power will stay on lol. We are suppose to get more ice and snow over night tonight and into tomorrow. I can't believe they are doing these rolling outages with how cold it has been. No one around here is equipped to handle that kind of cold with no power :( Ready for summer :D

argh, we are all safe and cozy here in FL, but got through to MIL last night and she's alone in her house in Houston without power for 2.5 days and in her 80s with lots of health issues. She can't even open the garage door with the manual opening pull thing, and probably couldn't drive anywhere. I'm going to see if we can figure something out for her from here. She said she's just been bundling up in blankets, but I don't know what she's eating or drinking either.

@annabananamc You should be able to call the local fire department and they will go get her and take her to a warming station. We are up towards Dallas, and they are doing that all around here.

@mooreshelly09 - thanks so much for that. We talked to her again with all that info, and a neighbor was charging her cell phone in his car. She wants to sit tight today because she's still concerned about covid (despite being two weeks past 2nd vaccination) She'll think about other options if she doesn't get power back today.

One thing I know from my time in Texas and 20+ years married to a Texan is they are fiercely independent and I'm probably not going to convince her to do ANYTHING she doesn't decide to do....let's hope they get her power on!

As for me, I did my run this morning and it helped burn off the stress - hoping I can get some work done now!

@annbananamc - I hope your mom gets her power back on soon. Mine finally did earlier today. She was also supposed to get her second vaccination today, but the roads are a disaster and they are supposed to reschedule.

One thing I told my mom: do NOT take a shower until you get power back and the house warms up. Even if there is warm water, it is FREEZING when you get out. My husband had really terrible, teeth-chattering chills the other day when he did it the other day. It was kind of scary.

I am glad your mother's neighbors are looking out for her! It is very stressful during times like this if, like me, you live far from your mom. But my mom loves the warm weather (maybe warm by this weekend for them) and doesn't want to move to a colder climate.

@mooreshelly09 - Mattress Mac is awesome!
