I am not upset with this. The week was really stressful for me. The Game Stop drama caused chaos at work and I could barely keep my head above water. I was completely exhausted. Luckily, I had planned the weekly menu and meal prepped. As busy as I was, I didn't give up my workouts. I just had a few too many scoops of frosting from the can!

Yesterday I missed my walk but ate well, and this morning of course the day AFTER weigh-in I am down a pound.

I had a couple of bad calorie days in a row and now I'm paying the price. I've got to break out of the yo-yo this month.

Here is a quick filling meal I had for lunch today: 6 oz. of Kirkland Premium Chunk Chicken Breast, with 1/3 chopped Gala apple (the rest I ate as slices). I haven't even finished it - so filling. 39 grams of protein for what I ate, which is 3 servings. It's a nice alternative to tuna fish.

Today is the first day I have not stepped on a scale first thing in the morning since I began this competition in late December. I slept in a little (usually up around 5:30 and slept until nearly 8) and decided I 'missed' the window of equal comparison. Mixed purpose Super Bowl and birthday party scheduled for tomorrow and I am hoping this isn't the beginning of a slide backwards (as is my habit). I figured I would throw this out there for some moral support cuz you are all very, very good at that.

@maryc11, if you had stepped on the scale at 5:30 this morning, what would you have expected to see? A slight dip, a slight increase, or the same as the day before? Pretend you know the answer and then continue on as you normally would have. Weigh yourself tomorrow morning before the party and be mindful of what you put in your mouth. Then, step on the scale Monday morning again, knowing full well it will be slightly higher than the day before because of the types of food you will have consumed on Sunday, regardless of the amount eaten. Then go back to eating in a deficit on Monday.

I know lots of people weigh daily. If you keep in mind the overall trend, (because fluctuations happen), it can be very helpful and illuminating, especially when combined with your other data, like foods eaten the day before slight upticks, etc.

Enjoy your party Sunday. Who are you rooting for? I am not rooting for Tom Brady...it's time to pass the torch!

@HASWLRS thank you so much for your insight. Very helpful. I will be mindful of my mouthfuls...hehe. I am there for the birthdays and not necessarily for the game itself so I haven't picked a team. I am not much of a Brady fan I guess I am with you on passing the tourch.

A 3 mile walk with the pup sounds like time we'll spent. Your lunch looks delicious.

    A loss of 1 lb.

Not a great start to February
I stepped about 80,000 steps this week
I hit my target of 15k steps 2 out of 7 days.
I documented food 6 out of 7 days I was under target 4 days.

I donated blood last weekend, I fell off my eating health eating because I wanted to ensure my iron level was high enough to donate. I was successful, and found out I don’t have the Covid antibodies. It’s a good indicator that I haven’t had Covid. After my donation I took a downward spiral to my eating. Just recently I am feeling I got a handle back on it. Another trigger will be this weekend with the extra cold weather as well as the Super Bowl. My softball team traveled to Florida and won the World Series. I didn’t go because of Covid. My job as a Covid contact tracer / case investors keeps me on my toes. I have a bike desk and depending on my function I can hit my target with walks at lunch. Thank you for reading this I won’t let the team down with only a one lb loss in the next weeks. Peace to all

    @Robandy12345
You're not letting us down at all. A pound down is fantastic. That is awesome that you donated blood.

I hope you are able to enjoy the weekend ans that next week isn't so stressful. That is awesome that you were able to get in your workouts and eat as planned through the chaos. You're doing great.

@maryc11, I don't often follow my own advice, but it is still sound.... The first serving of something tastes exactly the same as the second serving. More to that point, the second bite tastes exactly the same as the first bite. The takeaway? Eat a smaller serving, slowly, savouring every bite!

@HASWLRS I am weighing daily for this Noom test and then I am stopping that and going back to weekly. However, it is pretty amazing the variation from day to day!

I had some work hiccups last week that resulted in me skipping walks so I didn't make my step goal, but I also didn't give up, or try to 'make it all up' in one day yesterday. My BIG GOAL is balance in my life. I'm getting better at that!

Along with that, I'll join my husband in moderation in his desire to snack all the good snacks for the superbowl tonight. I talked him away from brats for dinner, and we'll have shrimp scampi instead. He's learned to limit the butter and use less pasta (he is 100% our cook, btw) and so I'll find the balance there, too.

Here's to a brand new week!

@annabananamc, absolutely balance is key! I am not going to be exercising much at all this week either, unless something is required for my other MFP Challenge group... it is much too cold to go for a decent walk and I am not a bit fan of video workouts currently. I will just monitor my calories accordingly. Yes, weight loss will be slower, because I cannot create a bigger deficit, but slow is better than not at all! Well done on positively influencing the cook in the family. I am assuming, being in Florida, that you will be rooting for the Buccaneers?

@HASWLRS yup, it looks like we are all fighting the good fight this month. I am happy to report I think I put the brakes on my skid. Stayed under calorie count yesterday, budgeting my calories today and have already done a brisk 2 mile walk in anticipation of the fun I plan to have tonight. Hopefully, I will get time to reach 10,000 steps before I head over to the party but, if not, tomorrow I will be ready.
@annabananamc if I don't do the daily weigh in, I 'forget' I'm watching my calories and it sneaks up on me. I've tried other ways, tried NOOM, but it seems I am very competitive so the challenges get me to stay focused. (p.s. I lived in Countryside for a few years when the kids were young, hung around the Phillies field in Dunedin quite a bit. Miss it.)
