HOW IT ALL WORKS:
Every challenger weighs in on their chosen day, every week without fail! At the end of each week, the tallies are done to determine the team and individuals with the most weight lost. The best losers are announced with full fanfare every Sunday. The team competition is all in good spirits - may the most losing win!

We also track those small, steady losses with the Green Week count. If you lose, however small an amount, it counts for 1 week in the green. At the end of the month we celebrate everyone who lost every week. You are heading steadily towards your goal even if you aren't at the top of the weight loss leaderboard!

To make your weigh-in easy to find for your team Captains, please put it right at the top of a message, and use this format:

Username
Weigh In Day:
PW (Previous Weight):
CW (Current Weight):

If you need a week off, a break, a change of weigh-in day - just ask your Captains here on your team chat page. If you take a break, you are moved to the Support Team. You can remain on the Support Team for as long as you need to. You still participate in the discussions and weigh in if you want to, but your weigh-ins will not be counted on the weekly tally. If you miss two weigh-ins in a row without asking for a break, you will be dropped from the team, so be sure to ask if you are travelling, sick, or just needing some time off.

Once you reach your goal weight, you join the Goal Zone! You need support to maintain, and you can help your teammates join you. You continue to weigh in every week, and if you have 2 weeks above your self-defined goal zone, you go back to the regular team to lose that amount before it builds up. You will have a chance to hone those maintenance skills and stick with your team!

In addition to your own team, there are weekly F2F Full Group CHALLENGES. You can do all or none - it's up to you. Participating adds a lot to your success, so we hope to see you there often! These can involve anything fitness, health, or nutrition - and they’ll get you moving, thinking, and learning about this journey. Check the Announcements section for full group challenges.

Let’s show our fellow challengers some F2F love! Introduce yourselves right away, and let the new month and year begin!!

    Welcome to April!
This is our home for the month, where all of our triumphs and challenges take place. Please (re)introduce yourselves and set some goals and daily actions for the month. Focus on the small every day choices, and you will get where you want to go!

I am Liselyn, co-captain along with @micki48. I live in rural Québec, about 85 miles east of Montreal, and I'm a retired university professor of music. My weight loss story? After being somewhat overweight for most of my life, I really packed it on while in an admin job that involved a lot of sitting, meetings, travel, and meals. I tried many times to lose, but it was not until I was 58 that I got really serious with both food and exercise, and lost 40 pounds. I have been in a good zone for almost 9 years now, always refining and figuring out the things that work best, and making sure I don't have to do it all over again. Yes, it is possible to lose weight and get in shape during and after menopause!

I know there are people on this team who have a lot to lose, others who have lost a lot and are closing in on their goals, and some who might be working on losses that are stubbornly resisting. There is much wisdom here, and the most important lesson we learn from each other time and time again is that it is not a straight shot, there will be trials and errors, and sticking with it when it feels like you have fallen off yet again is the best thing you can do for yourself. Plateaus can be good, but going back the way you came is not!

    Some helpful information/tools:
    Posting your daily updates
We know from experience that posting daily (or as often as you can!) makes a huge difference to your success. Use any format you like to let everyone know how you are doing on your daily goals and habits. You can report on food, exercise, water, sleep, or whatever you are tracking and trying to stick with. While you're there, talk about how you are, ask questions, and if you can answer someone else, please do! Congratulate others, commiserate, enjoy someone's rant, or go ahead and rant yourself. It all helps make the kind of community where we are in each others' heads when the hand is reaching for that off-plan snack, or the couch is feeling way too inviting...

    Weighing in
Please try to weigh in on time! When you post, put your weigh in at the TOP of a message, so it is clear and easy to find. If you cannot post your weight for whatever reason, please request a week off, or if you need a longer break, you can request to move to the "Support Team" where you can still participate but your weigh-ins will not be part of the weekly tally. This is where members who are ill, on vacation, or just needing a break can hang out for as long as needed.

    The F2F Habit Tracker
If you want a simple place to track your most important habits, give this a try. You can see how your teammates are doing too  The link is under "Announcements" on the main F2F page.

So everyone, tell us a bit about you. It's fun to know your name and where you live, if you're willing to share that, and what brought you here, how your weight loss journey has been, and where you are headed now. Let the introductions roll!

Hi everyone. I am Lori. This is my first month in this group. I live in Orange County, CA. I am in my 50s, married with 2 grown children and a dog.

My weight struggles started after I had children, then, I was diagnosed with a mental condition and with the addition of psych meds I ballooned up. But, I let it go, I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.I felt as long as it was controlled with the medication I was okay. My husband was recently diagnosed with diabetes too, and he changed to a low glycemic diet right away and was able to reverse it. I wanted to follow what he does, but we have different tastes. I started a program through my health insurance, called Virta, that is medically supervised keto, 2 months ago, I have lost 10 lbs, but it is not.linear.

I started logging on a different site, that syncs with my devices, but I like the forums at mfp.

    My goals for April:

Post and keep up with weigh-ins
Log and Stay under 30 g carb daily
    Walk dog at least 3x/week

I am happy to see another Albertan on the team! Amber aka @Terytha is also near Calgary. And @CanadianGiraffe is currently on our support team, but she lives in Alberta as well. My daughter lives there - in Wainwright, and I'll be visiting in June  Great goals - and the commitment to stay the long course and not get thrown off at every bump in the road is important.

    @lorib642
I hope you will find a lot of support here - there are fellow low carb / keto folks, and couples who eat differently (welcome to my world...), and lots of ideas to try. Logging and sticking to the good habits are the framework, increasing activity in any way you can will keep you going, and your team here will listen to your rants when you need to, share ideas, answer questions, and generally get into your head so that it is harder to slip up. Be sure to post here every day if you can!

I see we have several teammates living in Canada ..... do you think Canada will be open for travel this summer? I had really hoped to do some backpacking at Mount Robson for my 50th in July. Do you think that will be possible?

My name is Gary and I live in Florida. This is my first month with this group. I’ll be 50 this summer. My youngest started driving last month so I suddenly have extra time in my days and I’m using it to improve me! I enjoy walking, biking, and usually take 4-5 Pilates classes each week. I’m following a keto diet, I track my calories here, and I’m currently eating most of the exercise calories I earn. Let’s do this!!
You betcha! I am always glad to hear about other Pilates people - I really feel like it has changed a lot for me. And hiking is the bees knees

I certainly hope so! I have heard rumblings about July, but it all depends on the vaccine rollout and how the case numbers are going. You can already come, but have to quarantine upon arrival, so it cuts seriously into your hiking time. Jasper is so gorgeous. I'll keep you posted if I hear any news about the border and all. Would you fly into Calgary?

They're telling us we'll be vaccinated by June, so there's a chance. I am trying not to be hopeful but I want to get to Vegas this year so fingers crossed!

Its the federal government's call though. We'll see what they say.

    Hello,
My name is Kelly. I am a Kindergarten teacher and mother of 4. I have pretty much maintained the same weight for 5 years...minus a pregnancy and this past summer, when I went up. I did drop a pant size last year, even though I ended at close to the same weight.

    My April goals
    1. Carb Cycling
    2. Lifting and Barre 4 days a week
    3. Walk 5 days a week
    4. Keep up with the clutter (stress)

Carb cycling involves a lot of planning but I think I can do it. My friend had great results with it. I just want to try something different.

Greetings Team members - Current & New (Welcome!)

My name is Yinka, I'm 57 years old, British, and I live in Bewdley, a gorgeous little Georgian town in Worcestershire. I am married with a grown up son and we also have an aging, cantankerous little Jack Russell cross called Edie. I am an online english language coach, working from home.

I have recently signed up to do a 25-kilometre challenge in September, called the London Bridge Trek (traversing 16 of the London bridges that cross the Thames) so I'm in training for that. I have MS, so I am walking in support of the MS Society.

I workout 5 times a week - including my walking training - and my diet is QUITE good. But it could be better! I have gradually managed to get my daily water intake up so I'm optimistic for being able to turn the rest of my ref flags green in the coming weeks and months.

Other than my walking training which I do twice a wee, I am currently doing 10-15 minutes of yoga each morning, followed by the SELF Together Challenge.

I have already been out for my long practice walk this afternoon - 1 hour and 50 minutes - and it was lovely!

I try to read this thread every day to see what everyone is up to, although I tend to only post on weigh-in day. I will try to change that during April.

Welcome to all our new members. Hope you all have a wonderful Sunday!

:star:The Green Challenge :star: Percentage of people who lost weight this week. No matter how small the loss the weights are recorded in green. Remember that even if your team doesn’t rank the highest in weight loss for the week you can still be the Green Percentage winner by having the most losses in your team! So keep it up!! B)

    Hello Team!
I hope your day is going or has gone well. As a team, I have to say we did not have the most brilliant March, but some of you had a great month indeed. I'd like to see our % of greens go a bit higher, but there are months like that. Dig deep in April and get those reds kicked to the curb, ok? Who needs 'em? Even if you only lose 0.1 lb it is green. And we all know how healthy our greens are

Beka will get all the results posted this evening, so we'll be able to congratulate the big losers

I'm going out in the rain for a walk. I blew it this morning when it was dry!

    Quick weigh-in reminder for today:

Hi! I'm Kristi from Washington state in the US. I'm 38, married and have 3 kids age 11, 9 and 6. I am just returning to weight loss after a 2 month reverse diet. My start weight was 255lbs and right now I'm at 227.0 My lowest was 214 but I couldn't maintain it and yo yo'd for several months. Hopefully my body will cooperate now. I'm getting back into the swing of things by exercising and logging!

    April Goals!

Log and stay in my calories
    Keep working on macros
Get back to my ballet workouts and reconnect with my why for working out (stress relief, feel strong and elegant and all the fun outfits 🤭)

Today went well. Logged my food and stayed in calories. Did a 45 minute ballet workout. Not sure if anyone else is watching college basketball. I'm sure I burned some calories watching Gonzaga even though they did great. We had wind storms today and lost power. I hope it doesn't take days to get it back. I guess the baby chicks will be staying in the house tonight by the wood stove!

Hi everyone! I’m Michele from North Carolina. I’m 56 and I’ve been with Waistaways for 2 years. I’m the co-captain with @jugar. I maintain the step challenge which I’ll post more about shortly.

I’m married 37+ years and have two grown children and an adorable almost 3 year old granddaughter that I talk about a lot.

As I said, I’ve been with the group for over two years and have just been hanging out about the same place for the last year +. I’ve made a lot of changes, but the novel excitement of weight loss is gone for me. I’m sticking with it, but tired of being in the 190s for so long. Making myself check in daily helps, but I need a kick. I’m not always a bummer. But that’s where I am at this moment.

Hi all, I'm Katie from near Nottingham in the UK with my husband and our two cats. I've been with the group - and actively trying to lose weight - since January and both enjoying it and seeing success on the scale. Prior to that I was doing WW for over 5 years and got close to a healthy BMI once, but then regained all the weight and couldn't seem to shift it. I have a desk based job (currently from home full time) but I like to move... walking, running and resistance bands; weight lifting will hopefully re-enter my life soon.

Holy water retention batman! I was in the 83s Tuesday-Saturday and ruined it by eating in a way that I know encourages my body to retain water. I stayed within my calorie goal but we had takeaways on Sunday, Wednesday and last night due to lack of preparation.

On the Sunday's, OH hadn't realised the marinade time involved in our new recipes. To combat that, I (and it'll fall to me :/) will add a calendar appointment earlier in the day to apply the marinade.

The Wednesday was because OH has started running again, and I was working late, so tea wasn't put on and it took an hour to cook. I should note that the takeaway took 2.5 hours to arrive, coming at 9.45pm (won't be ordering from them again!), so we'd have been better sticking with the original plan. This week we've made an effort to plan the quick, or reheat-only, recipes for days when we both expect to be running. We also need to communicate better.

I need to spend some time - probably Wednesday night - adjusting my plan for April and I think I'm going to drop my calorie goal again. I also need to do measurements and progress photos - if I'd stuck to the fortnight, it would've been yesterday, but I thought I'd do them on Wednesday morning with it being the end of the month.

I'm going to be extra-good for the next two days to try and finish the month under 84kg :D

Monday morning, @jugar, okay if I jump back in? No sitting on the sidelines this month. My dramatic yoyoing was making me not want to screw up the team stats BUT an energetic sunny Monday morning has me saying 'ENOUGH'.
Please put me back in and I'm aiming for a great April.

    Greetings friends!

Loving the April Showers challenge this month - even though it's not April yet, here's my reckoning for today:

    1. Take a breathing break [I do this every morning when I get up - I swing my feet out of bed, make contact with the carpet, and as I raise my head, I take my first gorgeous inhalation of breath... and exhale. Then I relax my shoulders by turning my palms upwards and I take my second inhalation. Then I gently rotate my head a few times before raising my hands to the sky and taking a few more deep breaths. On the next exhale, I bring my hands down in prayer to heart pose and enjoy the stillness. I normally finish off by raising my arms midway at my sides and then doing a couple of side twists] It's just the best way to wake up! Then I go and brush my teeth!
    4. Plan your meals and pre-log the whole day.
    5. Post on your team thread.
    7. Make your bed. [I feel like this is cheating as I do this every day anyway.]

Hello everyone! My name is Stephanie, I currently live in Luxembourg but am from Oklahoma. I'm married with two teenage kids and also have a son in the US. I'm working on a Masters Degree and taking French lessons. I love to run, hike, bike and travel. I hate that COVID has restricted movement and there doesn't seem to be a vaccine in sight for me in Europe...

As for health and fitness. I've always been very active and eaten what I liked. After my third child and taking on additional career roles my weight topped at about 182 pounds. I was stressed and miserable and too tired to focus on my nutrition or fitness, I hate those pictures. In 2019, we moved to Luxembourg in support of my husband's career and I left my mine. I traded my stress at work for living in a foreign country and integrating my family here. Honestly, it has improved all our lives in so many ways. Since then I have worked to improve my fitness, nutrition and mindset. I'm a lot more fun to be around these days. I currently weigh 156.5 and am working to get to 145.

I have found that being mindful of carbs helps me to manage my overall food intake, I like to eat less than 100 carbs per day. I also have eliminated snacking late at night by "intermittent fasting" - which for me means finishing any eating by 8pm and having just coffee for breakfast. I did "Dry January" and realized that a cold fizzy drink does me just as good without the negative effects of alcohol on my metabolism. I am working on getting more sleep currently I get about 6 hours and my body needs more.

In March, I waivered in recording all my foods and exercising routinely. In April, I plan to just get back to my basics. I will read the group chat every day and work to post more routinely.

    Happy Monday!
I always love reading the introductions every month. The moments of re-commitment and feeling of where each person is right now are always both interesting and inspiring. Thanks!

    @eggfreak
You are now officially back in the regular team. Yo-yo with consequences!

    @YinxFed
I love your morning routine. Sounds perfect

I have to go to pick up my new glasses today in the middle of a rather wild wind and snow storm. Spring - The Prequel is over and we are now in The Winter Strikes Back. I'm sure we'll be yo-yoing for another couple of weeks. It will be good to have updated glasses. I have some rather challenging visual issues and even though replacing all 3 of my necessary glasses costs a small fortune, I could not put it off any longer. I look forward to a less wonky world!

Keep well! Plan and stick to plan!
