HOW IT ALL WORKS:
Every challenger weighs in on their chosen day, every week without fail! At the end of each week, the tallies are done to determine the team and individuals with the most weight lost. The best losers are announced with full fanfare every Sunday. The team competition is all in good spirits - may the most losing win!
We also track those small, steady losses with the Green Week count. If you lose, however small an amount, it counts for 1 week in the green. At the end of the month we celebrate everyone who lost every week. You are heading steadily towards your goal even if you aren't at the top of the weight loss leaderboard!
To make your weigh-in easy to find for your team Captains, please put it right at the top of a message, and use this format:

Weigh In Day:
PW (Previous Weight):
CW (Current Weight):
If you need a week off, a break, a change of weigh-in day - just ask your Captains here on your team chat page. If you take a break, you are moved to the Support Team. You can remain on the Support Team for as long as you need to. You still participate in the discussions and weigh in if you want to, but your weigh-ins will not be counted on the weekly tally. If you miss two weigh-ins in a row without asking for a break, you will be dropped from the team, so be sure to ask if you are travelling, sick, or just needing some time off.
Once you reach your goal weight, you join the Goal Zone! You need support to maintain, and you can help your teammates join you. You continue to weigh in every week, and if you have 2 weeks above your self-defined goal zone, you go back to the regular team to lose that amount before it builds up. You will have a chance to hone those maintenance skills and stick with your team!
In addition to your own team, there are weekly F2F Full Group CHALLENGES. You can do all or none - it's up to you. Participating adds a lot to your success, so we hope to see you there often! These can involve anything fitness, health, or nutrition - and they’ll get you moving, thinking, and learning about this journey. Check the Announcements section for full group challenges.
Let’s show our fellow challengers some F2F love! Introduce yourselves right away, and let the new month and year begin!!

Welcome to April!
This is our home for the month, where all of our triumphs and challenges take place. Please (re)introduce yourselves and set some goals and daily actions for the month. Focus on the small every day choices, and you will get where you want to go!
I am Liselyn, co-captain along with @micki48. I live in rural Québec, about 85 miles east of Montreal, and I'm a retired university professor of music. My weight loss story? After being somewhat overweight for most of my life, I really packed it on while in an admin job that involved a lot of sitting, meetings, travel, and meals. I tried many times to lose, but it was not until I was 58 that I got really serious with both food and exercise, and lost 40 pounds. I have been in a good zone for almost 9 years now, always refining and figuring out the things that work best, and making sure I don't have to do it all over again. Yes, it is possible to lose weight and get in shape during and after menopause!
I know there are people on this team who have a lot to lose, others who have lost a lot and are closing in on their goals, and some who might be working on losses that are stubbornly resisting. There is much wisdom here, and the most important lesson we learn from each other time and time again is that it is not a straight shot, there will be trials and errors, and sticking with it when it feels like you have fallen off yet again is the best thing you can do for yourself. Plateaus can be good, but going back the way you came is not!
Some helpful information/tools:
Posting your daily updates
We know from experience that posting daily (or as often as you can!) makes a huge difference to your success. Use any format you like to let everyone know how you are doing on your daily goals and habits. You can report on food, exercise, water, sleep, or whatever you are tracking and trying to stick with. While you're there, talk about how you are, ask questions, and if you can answer someone else, please do! Congratulate others, commiserate, enjoy someone's rant, or go ahead and rant yourself. It all helps make the kind of community where we are in each others' heads when the hand is reaching for that off-plan snack, or the couch is feeling way too inviting...
Weighing in
Please try to weigh in on time! When you post, put your weigh in at the TOP of a message, so it is clear and easy to find. If you cannot post your weight for whatever reason, please request a week off, or if you need a longer break, you can request to move to the "Support Team" where you can still participate but your weigh-ins will not be part of the weekly tally. This is where members who are ill, on vacation, or just needing a break can hang out for as long as needed.
The F2F Habit Tracker
If you want a simple place to track your most important habits, give this a try. You can see how your teammates are doing too The link is under "Announcements" on the main F2F page.
So everyone, tell us a bit about you. It's fun to know your name and where you live, if you're willing to share that, and what brought you here, how your weight loss journey has been, and where you are headed now. Let the introductions roll!0 -
Hi all, Ashley here. Live just outside Calgary, Alberta. This will be my first month with this group. I recall over 10 years ago participating in similar group challenges over on the Sparkpeople site, so I am looking forward to the accountability it brings.
I'm in my mid 30s and have struggled with weight my whole adult life. As a kid, I was very athletic, so I ate what I wanted without repercussion (or so it seemed). As an adult, the activity slowed down, but the eating didn't. I've gone through periods of loss, and periods of uncontrolled "fun" (aka gaining.. well it wasn't the gaining that was fun but the eating), but something just clicked a few months ago. The drive to achieve my goals and the clarity for why it's important feels really clear this time.
Looking to stay the course, not abandon ship at the first life event that I can't perfectly control, and get to my goal weight. I've got a lofty goal ahead but am thankful for this community and the support it brings.
Goals for April -
Post daily
Track daily
Get at least 8 glasses of water daily7 -
Hi everyone. I am Lori. This is my first month in this group. I live in Orange County, CA. I am in my 50s, married with 2 grown children and a dog.
My weight struggles started after I had children, then, I was diagnosed with a mental condition and with the addition of psych meds I ballooned up. But, I let it go, I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.I felt as long as it was controlled with the medication I was okay. My husband was recently diagnosed with diabetes too, and he changed to a low glycemic diet right away and was able to reverse it. I wanted to follow what he does, but we have different tastes. I started a program through my health insurance, called Virta, that is medically supervised keto, 2 months ago, I have lost 10 lbs, but it is not.linear.
I started logging on a different site, that syncs with my devices, but I like the forums at mfp.
My goals for April:
Post and keep up with weigh-ins
Log and Stay under 30 g carb daily
Walk dog at least 3x/week

I am happy to see another Albertan on the team! Amber aka @Terytha is also near Calgary. And @CanadianGiraffe is currently on our support team, but she lives in Alberta as well. My daughter lives there - in Wainwright, and I'll be visiting in June Great goals - and the commitment to stay the long course and not get thrown off at every bump in the road is important.
@lorib642
I hope you will find a lot of support here - there are fellow low carb / keto folks, and couples who eat differently (welcome to my world...), and lots of ideas to try. Logging and sticking to the good habits are the framework, increasing activity in any way you can will keep you going, and your team here will listen to your rants when you need to, share ideas, answer questions, and generally get into your head so that it is harder to slip up. Be sure to post here every day if you can!4 -
It's time to set up your April Habit Tracker for our new month starting tomorrow! Just click the link and follow the simple instructions. APRIL HABIT TRACKER

Ack, I'm having such a hard time accessing the community lately. I think my phone is starting to give up the ghost.
Its hard to believe its basically April already. I could not figure out why turkey was on sale at the store and then it clicked that Easter is seriously next weekend. :0
I did OK in March, losing 3 pounds. Things are obviously slowing a lot for me since I'm less than 10 lbs from a healthy weight, but as long as any progress is made I will reach my goal eventually.
Costco has started stocking extra lean ground bison, which is exciting. It has such good flavor and less calories, so its superior to extra lean ground beef in every way. We'll be stocking up.7 -
My weight today is 255 so I’d like to use that as my starting weight. I’d like my weigh in day to be Fridays (I previously said Mondays).
My name is Gary and I live in Florida. This is my first month with this group. I’ll be 50 this summer. My youngest started driving last month so I suddenly have extra time in my days and I’m using it to improve me! I enjoy walking, biking, and usually take 4-5 Pilates classes each week. I’m following a keto diet, I track my calories here, and I’m currently eating most of the exercise calories I earn. Let’s do this!!10 -
I see we have several teammates living in Canada ..... do you think Canada will be open for travel this summer? I had really hoped to do some backpacking at Mount Robson for my 50th in July. Do you think that will be possible?2

Thanks and yes I would fly into Calvary.0 -
Had a fun adventure today and used our city paths to chart out an 11.5 KM round trip walk from my house to a park and back. It's the longest planned walked I've done in quite some time and the weather was gorgeous for it. Really boosted my spirits and I was proud of the pace I was able to maintain.
@jugar bet you're looking forward to seeing your daughter! My husband, mother and I have a trip out your way in late fall to see some family as well.5 -

They're telling us we'll be vaccinated by June, so there's a chance. I am trying not to be hopeful but I want to get to Vegas this year so fingers crossed!
Its the federal government's call though. We'll see what they say.3 -
Hello,
My name is Kelly. I am a Kindergarten teacher and mother of 4. I have pretty much maintained the same weight for 5 years...minus a pregnancy and this past summer, when I went up. I did drop a pant size last year, even though I ended at close to the same weight.
My April goals
1. Carb Cycling
2. Lifting and Barre 4 days a week
3. Walk 5 days a week
4. Keep up with the clutter (stress)
Carb cycling involves a lot of planning but I think I can do it. My friend had great results with it. I just want to try something different.3 -

Greetings Team members - Current & New (Welcome!)
My name is Yinka, I'm 57 years old, British, and I live in Bewdley, a gorgeous little Georgian town in Worcestershire. I am married with a grown up son and we also have an aging, cantankerous little Jack Russell cross called Edie. I am an online english language coach, working from home.
I have recently signed up to do a 25-kilometre challenge in September, called the London Bridge Trek (traversing 16 of the London bridges that cross the Thames) so I'm in training for that. I have MS, so I am walking in support of the MS Society.
I workout 5 times a week - including my walking training - and my diet is QUITE good. But it could be better! I have gradually managed to get my daily water intake up so I'm optimistic for being able to turn the rest of my ref flags green in the coming weeks and months.
Other than my walking training which I do twice a wee, I am currently doing 10-15 minutes of yoga each morning, followed by the SELF Together Challenge.
I have already been out for my long practice walk this afternoon - 1 hour and 50 minutes - and it was lovely!
I try to read this thread every day to see what everyone is up to, although I tend to only post on weigh-in day. I will try to change that during April.
Welcome to all our new members. Hope you all have a wonderful Sunday!4 -

A new record low. So, so close to that 155 healthy weight border. It's taunting me worse than when I was trying to get under 200.6 -
The Green Challenge Percentage of people who lost weight this week. No matter how small the loss the weights are recorded in green. Remember that even if your team doesn’t rank the highest in weight loss for the week you can still be the Green Percentage winner by having the most losses in your team! So keep it up!!
ROCK STARS!!
