    @jugar

    Thank you so much.
    My name is Grace, I am 29, live in Nottingham Uk. I just submitted my thesis so I am in a good place. I can now focus on loosing the weight. One of the reasons I stayed on track was this group and I spiraled after I left. Happy to be back on this journey.

    Cw 101.5kg (I am using a new scale)

    Welcome back Grace and congratulations on submitting your thesis!

    @jugar my weigh in this morning was astonishing, so I want to hold off posting it until tomorrow to make sure it isn't a blip and I'll have a rebound next week. I'd have to go back and check but I don't think I've had an entire month in the green yet in my 7 months with the group.

    I've started reading the Beck Diet Solution that I heard one of the other groups was reading together. I'm guessing it's the psychology that noom is based on, correct me if I'm wrong. I'm almost at my goal but I've been here before and the yoyo always happened as soon as I reverted to old habits, I want to change my way of thinking and this seemed like a good start. My mother has a horrible relationship with food so I'm also reading it to see if it's something I can recommend to her to help her on her journey. She's an all-or-nothing dieter who will starve herself for a year on shakes, drop 100lbs, make it to goal and then climb back up to her starting weight as soon as she starts trying to eat regular food again. I prefer a slower, manageable approach, cause I don't want to deal with loose skin and quit cause I feel deprived. I think this book might help. Has anyone else read it?

    @micki48 - you beat me by 200 steps last week. I’m shooting for 3rd place this week so already added those extra steps yesterday. 😜 Great job everyone!

    @PlaneMonkey I have that book on my shelf, I've read bits and pieces but never the whole thing cover to cover. Let us know how it is... maybe it's time for me to dust it off :)

    Good morning! Back on my mat this morning. So hurray for that. 11 minutes of Pilates for legs. Wew, it packs a punch!

    @ashleycarole86 Sorry to hear about the bad blood donation. I know that can hurt and wipe you out. A couple of my family members have had vein infiltration. Hope you are feeling yourself soon.

    @KellyBgetsfit CONGRATULATIONS on that amazing milestone. You have worked so hard while being a busy mom of 4 and working as a teacher. You are a mighty woman. You can do anything!! <3

    @PlaneMonkey OOOOOOOhhhhh,, Now, I am paying attention can't wait to see what you post on weigh in day. You've got this.

    @Gidgitgoescrazy Your weigh in was shocking I am sure, but you have got this!! Like everyone has said that is not all permanent weight. That is all the things currently in your body. I bet you'll see that gone shortly. Chin up. You are strong.

    @gak71 Wow! 300 steps and i didn't realize it. Now try and beat me this week.

    Have a great day everyone.

    Fantastic!! Under 150 - you are doing so well. I am so glad you stuck with it when you got discouraged. You made some changes, experimented with things, took it easy when you needed to, and got right back on it as soon as you could. Results are speaking for themselves :smiley:

    @jugar He is a beautiful boy! Growing up, I had a friend who had a mare that looked just like him. It is always fun to hear their registered names and barn names. One lady in our area had this beautiful American Saddle Breed who was chestnut with a flaxen mane named Champagne Whizz. He was nearly 18 hands tall and his tail was so long it had to be secured under the buggy during shows. My sister and I were so excited to meet him when our trainer moved to the barn he lived at. Well...he is the most terrifying horse I have ever met and his barn name is Fang! Ha! It really fit him. His owner brought us to his stall and he came flying in from his outdoor run and charged the door and hit it. He didn't seem as pretty after that💔😈

    Maybe I like this new scale after all! In spite of drinking as much water as I do, the body composition assessment indicates that I'm pretty low. Interesting. Maybe as my fat decreases, my water will improve?
    We'll see.
    My food has been ok. Serving sizes are still an issue. At least we've both been walking more. It's time to add in a few other exercises and stretches.
    More soon.
    Off for a walk.

    Weigh in tomorrow - not very excited or hopeful. I have not been great with my eating and no formal exercise these last days. A bit of caregiver stress (rather 'lack of caregiver' stress and hopefully that gets sorted soon...the stress part is finding 2 -3 that are a good fit. Will find out tomorrow what the 'fulltime back to the office' date will be. The plus is that I manage my intake much better when I'm in the office.
    @KellyBgetsfit WAY TO GO!!

    More animals! The pond frogs came up on Sunday and are now (ahem) frolicking all over the place, the groundhogs are out, new fauns are appearing, raccoons are raising the compost and rooting around under the bird feeder - pardon my excitement, but spring is here!

    I just tried out some very minimalist shoes I got from a crowd funded project. They feel like socks but I walked on rocks, gravel, roots, wet stuff and all kinds of surfaces. I just wanted to run and dance around - happy feet, great balance. 👍

    Oh, how I envy your ability to wear minimalist shoes! My arches fell years ago and if I don't have solid & cushioned support, I have so many other issues come up, including plantar fasciitis. Not fun. However, I deeply appreciate having happy feet and dancing around with great balance! Mine is still pretty good. It's bound to improve now that I'm making time to stretch and temper my muscles. Pretty soon, my "flab-dominals" will remember how nice it can be to shed some of those "shy" layers of protection painted on so many years ago!

    Sarah was heading out for a walk a couple of days ago (while I had my post-vaccine-fever/nap) and almost walked into a skunk at the edge of the neighbors' yard. That's always *so* exciting!
    I actually enjoy the buggers and will try to post a link to a very humorus encounter a bicyclist had with several skunks. You may have already seen it. Have the volume up - the skunks talk in such cute voices. Do you remember "Tippy" the skunk we met on the family camping trip? She was sweet.
    Hmmm...haven't been able to attach it here. I guess you'll have to go onto YouTube and type in skunks visiting a bicyclist or something. Have fun!

    What a lovely Wednesday - there are some great breakthroughs and insights here today. Partners - pro and con. Having them on board is wonderful. Counting on them when they are not really on board is frustrating. Giving up on them is liberating! All the flavours can work - as long as you are not afraid to make the solution work. Being someone else's food police is a nightmare, but having a partnership is wonderful. Counting on someone else to police you is a big mistake, though!

    It is also great to read about the "shy" factor in our extra layers. The shyness is still there even when the layers are gone - I guess we don't have to worry about needing the padding for that purpose! But it is certainly interesting as a tool to hide when we feel that is needed. Add that to the comfort factor of eating, and it is certainly difficult to shift perspective. All those positive thoughts about feeling strong sure help, but getting there is a big step. Bravo to everyone for taking that step, even if it is so far only lifting the foot and getting ready to really take it.

    It is time for the tomorrow factor! Thursday weigh-ins:
    @conleywoods

    @ashleycarole86
    @eggfreak

    Some overdue weigh-ins:

    Keep well, everyone!

    CW - 230.1 lbs

    Another week of lockdown, another week of all gyms and shops being closed and another week of sitting 5 feet away from the fridge all the day. Cant wait for this to be over. On the positive side, I am getting hiking shoes as I can see myself getting into this hobby. I am also going to have a cheat day every 15 days from now on. Should help me keep it together till the city opens up and I have more things to distract myself with.

    Well the scale yesterday wasn't a lie after all. It was even lower this morning. Guess that dance party on Saturday really did the trick!

    I got out of bed later than I intended and wasted some time taking progress photos so I didn't finish all of my workout this morning. It's less than a 20 minute workout, I should really make the time, but I was inspired by @Beka3695's comparison photo post and I've been digging for old photos and wanted to add new ones. I found an incredibly UNFLATTERING one on my husband's phone.... he was taking a photo of the landscaping we had been working on and I was in the middle of it, but didn't know the photo was being taken. I've never seen such a horrible angle of myself! wow. If that's not motivating and rewarding to know that isn't me anymore, I don't know what is!

    Congrats! this calls for another dance party. Maybe it could turn into a virtuous cycle :)

    I can't even remember the PW - I know this is a major jump up the scale again though.
    This time last year I was obsessively prelogging my meals for the next day as I lay in bed at night (then could tweak as needed during the day) and I was weighing everything. I must try to return to that state of mind.
    To that end, I am working from home today, but with a carer coming for four hours, I've packed my lunch and will head upstairs to knuckle down and will stick with my packed lunch...as if I were at the office.
