Once we record them, we will click the INSIGHTFUL button. We use this as it is typically the least used button. Please don't click INSIGHTFUL on a weigh ins, but feel free to use in any other post.

Back on track, practicing to Stop, Challenge and Choose. Really helps with those days I rummage through the kitchen for no reason. Back in the office next week after working from home for 13 months but we won't have access to vending machines, coffee pots, water or microwaves. Basically sit in my office. But hey the company wants us to be "back to normal".
Tell me more about the stop, challenge and choose please?0 -

BEKA'S STORY
It has been a while since I told my story. I want to invite others to do the same!!!
In 2016 I was pretty low. I didn't realize how I had let myself go until I saw a pic from my daughter graduating basic training. Most of you have seen the horrible white striped dress pic... it is bad. Just a few months ago, I received the Pic 1 below. It was from her going away party June 2016. I was in the neighborhood of 240 lbs.
October 2016, my husband was called to work out of state due to hurricane damage. I said to myself "I just want to lose 20 lbs while he is gone... just enough for him to notice." I started using MFP and started losing a little. November 2016 I was getting out of the shower and looked at my naked body in the mirror. Something was not right... I have old breast implants and one had ruptured. WTH?!?! Yep, lefty was flat. My next thought was "there is no way I can have these fixed at 230 lbs!!! I called a cosmetic surgeon to make sure I could wait - and I could. More reason to get healthy.
Pic 2... I lost down to 174. I was so happy in my skin, but not were I wanted to be and I could not bring myself to have my lopsidedness fixed. I maintained this weight for about 9 months before the regain began.
Months rolled on and I gained. 2 lbs here, 1 lb there... Before you know it, I was back up to 230. How did this happen? I worked so hard to get it off!! It happened because I was complacent and didn't take action when I saw the creeping up begin. Oh, it's just 5 lbs... Oh, it's just 3 lbs.
Pic 3 was 7/4/2019 - the Peachtree Roadrace. I was 220 or so then. In February of 2020 I was 230ish. My grandson was born that month. I was so unhealthy. I decided he needs a healthy Mimi. 3/1/2020 - I stopped drinking. I did have a hiccup last Sunday and drank, but I am alcohol free otherwise. This has given me the ability to focus.
May 2020 -- my world turned upside down. I moved to Florida to nanny this sweet boy as childcare due to COVID is non existent. I also took this time to focus on myself and my health. I reached my lowest of 166.6 in October of 2020. Big KUDOS to this group for holding my hand thru the process.
I have gotten a little lazy the last few months and floated back up to 179. This damage has been mitigated a bit and I'm heading back down.
Pic 4 was taken yesterday. I am 'feeling' the end coming to the childcare issue and feel it is time to revamp my career.... This is the interview suit I bought. I was 173.6 yesterday. I have been leaning on my accountability partners and feel like I'm getting my head back on straight!!!
My boobs.... As I said last week -- had a scare, but received a clean bill of health. I am calling tomorrow to schedule a consult with a cosmetic surgeon.
Am I where I want to be? No, but I'm pretty darn close!!! I am now learning to be happy with myself. I have to make sure that BEKA is taken care of. I was reminded that I cannot take care of others if I am in pieces.
I feel like I am turning a page and opening a new chapter of my life. I am embracing the changes!

The Green Challenge Percentage of people who lost weight this week. No matter how small the loss the weights are recorded in green. Remember that even if your team doesn’t rank the highest in weight loss for the week you can still be the Green Percentage winner by having the most losses in your team! So keep it up!!

Today is Easter. To those that celebrate - Happy Easter!
I am tracking everything I'm eating today!! I have 2 Easter celebrations- lunch @ my home and dinner by my in-laws.
I got my walk in this morning!!4 -
Today I broke my streak of leaving the apartment every day... my husband even asked me about it when he came to kiss me goodnight and tried to motivate me to still go out. Oh honey no, it’s 11.30PM and I’m in bed in my underwear, fresh from a shower in clean bedsheets. There’s no way I’m dragging my pregnant butt out of bed to go for a walk at this hour, unless it’s to the bathroom or to the fridge. At least it was an otherwise active/productive day - we did our taxes and cleaned a little.
I also accidentally came up with a ridiculous yet amazing meal combo, and I can’t wait to for Tuesday so I can have it for lunch. I know this is probably hormones talking, but today we had some salmon, potatoes and feta cheese, and while the salmon was fine, the combination of boiled potatoes and feta cheese was somehow magical. Next time I’ll try some boiled eggs to get some protein in there. I’ve yet to figure out how I could add veggies that don’t make me puke, but at least I’m back to eating fruits. Tomorrow we’re having Easter lunch at my mom’s, and I’m mostly curious to see whether I can stay awake through the afternoon or end up napping at mom’s house.1 -

I’ve had premium, the only real upside I can remember (haven’t logged food in months) was meal specific calorie goals. Those really helped me break down my calorie budget and eat right sized meals. It worked for me since I’m thoroughly unfit for any kind of fasting at any point in the day, so I really need to spread my calories to reasonably sized meals. It kept me accountable about things like ”well, if you have an 800 calorie lunch, you really only have 300 calories for dinner and then you’ll feel crappy all night”. Other than that, I can’t remember any significant benefit.1 -

Feeling a bit disappointed this week as I've been losing at least 2lb every other week! Not sure what I did wrong. Curious what other people have for their calorie allotment in my weight range?1 -

I have mine set at 1300 and if I don’t eat back my exercise calories I lose very well.

At first I was like “dang, that is 6 months out!!!” But I guess I feel better with this than if she had said she could get me in next week! Now we wait!4 -

I blame it on Easter celebrations... I hope to not have a set back in a Month when I celebrate my own Easter.. it’s a small step and not going up is a plus...
I am having help from My Dr and started her Nutrimed program.. there will be mindfulness classes starting Thursday... hoping for a more focused weight loss journey.
Took advantage of the good weather and restarted my nightly walks with my husband.. it was short. It was a start.. I know if we keep at it we will be doing mile long walks before bed..3 -

I have to share my NSV! Some background: I have a bum knee. In June 2019 I suffered a meniscus tear in addition to the bone-on-bone arthritis I already had. I was on crutches for three weeks. I’ve seen an ortho, gone through physical therapy and I’ve been working with a trainer since January of last year. It’s been a lot of two-steps-forward, one-step-back.
I was going over my stats and discovered that last week, I hit my meager step goal of 5,000 steps every day last week! The only time I’ve done that before was during our trip to Europe, where we walked everywhere (but I was in a lot of pain most days because it wasn’t long after my injury). I know it doesn’t sound like a lot but it’s a huge milestone for me!6
