Weigh in day Thursday

Happy Thursday - this week seems to be flying by!
I have not been feeling so well; I think it's a bit of heatstroke. Car was in the garage yesterday and it's 10-15 minutes to walk each way, then I went for a 1hr30ish walk instead of a run as it was too hot. I went to bed just after 9pm, managed a couple of hours of sleep then spent the rest of the night waking up too hot, even with a fan on. Thankfully it's cooling down today (it's lovely outside, still hot in the house) and I feel a bit brighter after a walk and lunch.
I've dropped my calorie goal from 1723 to 1650 today, so I'll see where that takes me. I'm already feeling more focused. I think a big help for me would be dropping the bread at lunch time and just having cooked meats with salads or vegetables. We tend to buy fresh loaves of bread which are not sliced, and so it's easy to give yourself a bigger serving equating to 250-300 calories which is quite a big chunk of my daily allowance.
I have been looking at various lifting programmes after a search for a new personal trainer left me a bit uninspired. I'm probably going to go with Stronglifts 5x5 which has been recommended on the boards here. I will need some additional plates for it, so I will order those after pay day at the end of the month, and carry on with my physio-workout in the mean time. I won't sacrifice running for lifting, as it's so good for my mental health, however I don't want to over do it. I probably won't have an issue at the lighter weights, though I think eventually I will hit a wall and need to prioritise.1 -
@jugar CW 188
I hope your trek west was uneventful. Except for the meeting of the friends and ensuing photos!
I learned yesterday that my shoulder’s diagnosis is Rotator Cuff calcific tendinitis. My plan and hope to return to massage needs to be changed to something else completely. I’m not sure what, yet, but more shall be revealed. As long as I keep moving and eating decently, all will be well!
Ok…time to walk to the pharmacy. Happy Thursday, y’all!6 -
Weigh-in day is here and I'm feeling a bit discouraged this week. My loss this week is 1.0 pound, which is still a loss, but I've been walking a LOT more this week & expected that this would relate to a bigger loss. I think it's possible that allowing myself to eat back close to 100% of calories earned is not the best strategy for me. This week I will try a max of 75% and see what that does.5

@bowens1973 @Jugar recommended to me not to eat my exercise calories and I have to say, weight loss comes a lot easier when I don't. I'm not sure how accurate my Garmin is at figuring them out; I gather it's better at some exercises than others, but I've never done the maths. Occasionally I'll scoff them if I'm craving something or we're having a particularly large meal but as a general rule they go untouched.
The small loss could also be due to water retention if you've had a significant increase in movement. I'm sure the extra walking will be reflected on the scales soon3 -
Greetings from beautiful Alberta!
I had an uneventful trip out here (the best kind) and it is wonderful to meet all the new critters in my daughter's household - the horse she got in January, a mini-mule, and a new kitten. Had dinner with a wild bunch of army guys (LOUD!!) and now having a beautiful, civilised morning with sunshine and, well, critters. And my daughter!
BUT the spreadsheet has more red than usual this week!! Well done to the green people - and big hug to the red people. Next week will be better, right?
@DD265
Your plan is a great example - just sticking with the food calories and not going into the exercise calories is often all it takes. Even if the expended calories are not calculated accurately, it doesn't matter. Just stay close to the daily intake goal and see how it goes. Getting rid of bread and adding more vegetables also really helps!
@bowens1973
A pound is still good - don't worry at the speed - our bodies hate to change and will hang on to the weight sometimes. It will start to move again soon, just hang on and keep doing all the good things.
@AshenMoon and @lorib642 @EvMakesChanges @MoStacy
WTG! Losses of all kinds are worth the happy dance.
I'm off to the outdoors for the day - have a good one!5 -
Hi all,
Thank you for sharing. Working too much these days... No time for writing.

Was hoping to be under 130... but I need another week for that!

Morning all and welcome to Alberta @jugar
I played 9 holes of golf last night and had my best round of the season so far... I love the walk and noticed I didn't feel sore this morning. Love how activity is not hurting as much anymore and really enjoy playing a game I love and getting exercise at the same time.
Started the day with another morning walk.. my dog is appreciating that start too! Makes the morning watching mom and dad work at home a little bit better.3 -

I have ended on the wrong page and I am not sure this is my initial group... Anyway, I read your May post @littleflutterby and I found it very powerful. Yes, this is a non-jugemental space which we all need. I must also admit that when I looked at your photos, I thought that the 1 st one was you and the other one was your daughter. So, loosing weight doesn't only make you feel a lot better, but it makes you look younger. I hope you are doing well and staying focus!

Blech, I feel yuck. Drugged sleep feels basically like no sleep, I'm still tired.
I got a pulled pork sandwich from Tim Hortons for lunch because I was curious. It was disappointing. It was tasty enough for fast food, but talk about tiny! 450 calories and I need another lunch.
By comparison, the pulled pork sandies I make myself are around 400 calories, twice the size, and actually taste good. The secret is red wine vinegar, it's the superior vinegar.3 -
I’m at another baseball tournament, this time in West Palm Beach. Hoping to maintain my weight like I was able to do the last tournament. I’m still fighting to get the 10 pounds off I gained the first tournament of the summer!3

Gotcha! I'm glad you read some of the inspiring posts even from another team. There are some amazing people here. You'll be under 130 any day now!1 -
Hi all. Got a walk in with my granddaughter and husband today.
I’m really off track. Not focusing losing weight. My weight is up to 198! 😳 I just dont want to think about it, but I also know what will happen if I don’t. Just no motivation here. Ugh. Summer is not always good for me. I’m not giving up even though I want to.3 -
Hello everyone!
I have not been on track the last few days. But...I made it to the end of the school year 🙌 I have to say this was a really hard year and I am so glad to see it end. I am sure I will have a gain tomorrow but I am just going to live with it. I need to sleep in tomorrow and I am getting a massage in the afternoon. I want to get back to exercising and eating normal meals. I just have to help with interviews on Monday. The boss is letting us do zoom so we can interview people from home. I can't wait to feel like myself again 😌2 -
We ended up having an adventure filled night. Brad bought a bike off Kijijj so we went in to Calgary to pick it up. I googled a walk nearby and a trail came up I'd never heard of... turns out it was a pretty decent hike right in the middle of the city. There was lots of climbing and steep hills and steps and it turned into quite the workout. Not bad for a random Thursday night. We are both exhausted and will sleep well I'm sure.
It's nice that dates for us end up as exercise fairly often now. We had great fun exploring together.5 -

Congratulations on passing the 150 mark, you’re killing it!4 -
Summer is definitely a struggle for me. I am logging, but I am getting less steps and eating more carbs. The scale is going the wrong way. 😭 I had great losses, for me, in April and May, and I hate to see it coming back on.
@conleywoods welcome to summer break!4 -

Yo ho! I'm finally back online - the internet at my daughter's place is a bit sketchy, but at the moment it is rolling along well. We're having a great time, and I got to ride her new (since January) horse yesterday. He's amazing - certainly the best 3 year-old I have ever ridden. And the mini-mule is hilarious! He is really not sure about people at all, but I managed to touch him and lead him around a bit yesterday. He is quite hilarious looking. I'll try to post a photo later. I'm doing ok on steps, but not much else for exercise - I had better get on it!
I'll get to meet @ashleycarole86 (and @bowens1973 ?) on Sunday! We're going to meet up for a walk and some lunch in an odd little town called Donalda. It will be the first time I have met anyone from F2F in person. I have spoken on the phone with a few, but I am really excited about a face-to-face. We'll post photos of that for sure
The week is looking a lot more green now - well done! We're not going to hit our 18.5 pound loss of last week, but at least we will not be embarrassingly in the red for the week. For some reason, the 3rd week of a 4-week month is often the worst of the lot, so let's be sure that week 4 is stronger if possible.
In case I cannot get back online later - here are the remaining weigh-ins for the week, due by bright and early Sunday morning:

Morning all.. looking forward to our visit tomorrow @jugar and apparently we will be seeing the world's largest lamp too.. your description of the town as odd appears to be bang on!
Two more weeks of work and then Brad and I are on a week off.. our list of hopeful activities for that trip is so much different than it used to be... hiking, biking, Frisbee golf... hoping we get the weather to be as active as we want to be.
Unlike today... it's quite wet here at the lake and since the roads in our park are mostly unpaved it makes our walks hard to do as it gets quite slick. Luckily I got ahead in this week's 70K challenge so I'll still meet the goal but I may not have a strong finish.
Anyone have any experience with at home step aerobics videos? Borrowed an old step setup from my mom and I think it'd be a hoot to do.. found lots of stuff on YouTube but curious if anyone has any recommendations.
Have a great Saturday all!
Good luck with your ball tournament @gak71 ... love the game! I've been toying with the idea of joining a ladies fast pitch team again next year, it's been over a decade since I've played anything more than slopitch and I miss it.4 -

So sorry you're still feeling yucky - feel better soon. Y x2
