@ashleycarole86 the baseball tournament was fun and West Palm Beach was beautiful. Unfortunately there were too many errors on the field to be competitive but it's always nice to get away! Thanks for asking!2

Tuesday weigh-in
PW: 216.1
CW: 216.9
Not surprised, just frustrated with myself a bit. But to be perfectly honest, I drank all day Saturday after a hike with a friend (even made her do drunk yoga with me!), overate Sunday, and snacked way too much yesterday. So this could have been a lot worse? I'm trying to build up a new routine for my daily movement and approach. Heavy focus on getting things done early, before work, and just powering through. Sets the right tone.
My sister who I have not seen since Oct 2019 arrives on Thursday morning. We will work 2 days from my place in Boston and then head to the mountains in NY on Saturday morning, where I will stay for most of July. I am SO excited, but man do I have a lot of cleaning to do.
Happy Tuesdays all!4 -
I will be out of town the next 3 Fridays we will be in Florida for 14 days and then we are going back home to visit for a week.. can you put me on Maintenance team for a few weeks and I will be back when we get back to our home!2

I am not feeling good about tomorrow's weigh in... I honestly may just be maintaining this summer. I am definitely stress eating. I actually am trying hard to move my body every hour but its not really adding up. I am on the computer a lot with my home business and summer classes. Plus, it is really hot and smokey outside.2

I have moved to my old scale. I tried unsuccessfully this week to get on keto. I just couldn’t resist the carbs. So I am going to be calorie counting from now on. My birthday is in August so I am going to have to get more serious about tracking and dropping the pounds. I was able to stick to my calorie goal today, which was great. Will do that through the week and register for swimming4 -
Happy Tuesday everyone. We finally had some rain last night and today - broke the horrible 92-degree heatwave (which really only lasted 1.5 days) but what a relief it's supposed to get down to 45 tonight. Ah. Tomorrow, sunshine and mid 70s. much better!
I started the NOOM program a month ago and am finding it so helpful! There are so many great psychiatric "tricks" that it helps me remember what I said I'd do without fighting the process so much. Instead of finding "I can't because..." notions, I'm finding what I can do, hitching it to other things I already enjoy, and getting my weight shifted in the right direction. What a relief. I was on a stagnant wave for so long. Here's to more "Nooming" along. If any of you would like a coupon to try it, I'll send you one.
Have a great rest of week.
I'll try to be back before too many days zip by.
Great to read your entries.

I’m still doing some exercise but not managing my foods much. I feel so much heavier this month and my clothes feel tighter…
I want to get to my goal weight but not enough to be more focused on what and when I am eating. Somehow it seems easy to say do better or eat less or change your habits but I’m just not doing it…. Arrgghh.
I am totally right there with you Steph. Not feeling it lately. Life has been busy here and I’m letting that take control rather than me be in control. Plus, I have lost my motivation. Ugh.3 -
Extra hugs to those in the group right now who need to show themselves a little grace. Thankful that each one of you is here and for your honesty! Hope you find the traction that helps you soon.
Brad and I got used bikes this week so we went out for our first bike ride together tonight. The weather was perfect and it felt good to ride... I think it's a hobby we will really enjoy together.
We both had the most insane scale reading today from a salt laden piece of salmon last night.. we knew as we were eating it that it was very salty and the scale sure reminded us this morning. I am getting used to the daily fluctuations and using it as practice to not get in my head about it. Reminding myself it's temporary, glued to water and just thankful today wasn't our weigh in day lol.

conleywoods wrote: »@jugar Have you ever heard of hippotherapy? The term is misused often. It's a form of therapeutic horseback riding. An occupational therapist or a physical therapist use a variety of horses who display a variety of desired pelvic movement patterns. They then pair riders who do not have typical pelvic movements with specific horses to help them feel how their pelvis should move when walking. Cool huh!
You are certainly doing amazing work with your kids, exercise, and irrigation. Many checkmarks on your to-do list!My sister who I have not seen since Oct 2019 arrives on Thursday morning. This is great! Lucky you Don't sweat the cleaning, ok? You'll be so busy catching up, I doubt anyone will notice! I hope to see my wonderful sister @EvMakesChanges in July at last!SMcFall0215 wrote: »I will be out of town the next 3 Fridays we will be in Florida for 14 days and then we are going back home to visit for a week.. can you put me on Maintenance team for a few weeks and I will be back when we get back to our home!KellyBgetsfit wrote: »I am not feeling good about tomorrow's weigh in... Your exercise record for last week speaks for itself - a good one! So if this week is a bit meh, try not to let it last much longer than that. I am always amazed how quickly we feel like the motivation is gone, and we don't even see what has been OK. Don't let the "maintenance" (aka plateau) last too long - find some way to get that one perfect day to get back on track, even if things are not moving fast, ok?graceojo999 wrote: »I have moved to my old scale. Keto or not, I'm sure you'll find a way! Calories in/out is simple and you do not need to eliminate any particular foods. Try to get lots of those high-volume / low calorie foods (vegetables, high fibre, fruits, low-fat protein) and things will move for sure!EvMakesChanges wrote: »I started the NOOM program a month ago and am finding it so helpful! Take even a little tiny bit of control where you can. It will help keep the big slide from happening! You will be of much more help to everyone if you are feeling good and keeping healthy. Hugs!!!
I have had another fantastic day here in Alberta. Walking, cooking, talking, riding, feeding apples to the scared mule and helping him figure out that humans aren't completely horrible. What a great way to break out of the pandemic isolation and anxiety.
Keep well, all! Big lots of weigh-ins for tomorrow!

Happy Wednesday all!
I was very stressed yesterday for several reasons which seemed to just keep coming. I didn't make any bad food choices yesterday and I can tell that I won't today either, but I didn't enjoy how I was feeling or the physical effects of it, particularly knowing much of the stress was an overreaction. A little while ago I did an online course about my values and that actually came off the back of a mindfulness course, so I'll schedule to revisit that side of things because one of the stressors won't be going away.
It was Prime Day in the UK this week so I bought a few bits. Nothing too exciting (I mean a new toothbrush may be considered exciting lol) but I did get the weight bench and the fractional plates are coming from eBay today as well. That means I'll have everything I need to start lifting, except the proper amount of space! Need to do a charity shop run, possibly another tip run, and do a bit of sorting out. I'm running tonight, but I will do the first lifting session on or before the weekend. I am impatient to get going.3 -

I am not surprised. I need someone to put a lock on my kitchen! I am doing better with getting more fruits and veggies in addition to the junk I am eating. Now, I just need to reduce the junk. I am logging it. That usually helps me get me on track...but it hasn't yet.
@jugar thanks for the kind words. I wake up everyday and say this is going to be the day I stop mindlessly eating...and I know one of these days, it will be! I actually feel strong thanks to my exercise. I am still fitting into my tighter clothes that I was wearing in May. I will get through this phase and get the scale trending back down.3 -

@ashleycarole86 Thank you for your encouraging words. They mean a lot! I needed to hear that reminder to give myself some grace. I got on my mat for a short pilates routine this morning, but earlier got on the scale and saw numbers I haven't seen in over a year or more. I am on the cusp of 200. I guess it just shows you can't take time off and eat whatever you feel like grabbing. I have had two milkshakes in the last week. (rewarding myself for all my hard work around the house--Ha! Then, I'm sad looking at the scale.) Food cannot be a reward. I guess I haven't learned that lesson well yet. I'm going to try and focus on finding my motivation and making this a perfect day. I have three days to get that scale back down closer to where I was last week. I'll say it again though, WHY DON'T I LOSE WEIGHT AS FAST AS I GAIN IT?! GRRRRRR!!!!
@jugar Thanks! I started my day grabbing that little bit. It helps. Everything logged. I'd like to get a walk in today. It's been a few days or a week. Heat is not like it was so much more hospitable. Glad to hear you are having a fabulous time visiting Alberta. Did you and @ashleycarole86 and Brad take any photos together?4 -

@jugar CW 186.6 Huzzah! Feeling empowered and relieved that my body is reacting well. I have agreed to three days per week swimming in the pond (30 min) and walking five days per week for the same amount of time – I’m sure I’ll be able to do more, but at the moment that feels right.
Good morning! In case you’re interested, here’s a link with discount to NOOM. The psych-aspect is really working well for me. I hope you’re enjoying the summer so far! Xoxo

Can’t wait to see you!4 -
Happy Wednesday!
It's another perfect sunny day here - getting hot, and the days are SO long this far north. Tonight is "Wings Night" with all the silly Army boys, so I'll have to seriously behave myself up until then. There is nothing much on the menu that fits the way I'll eat, so it's calamari and salad - about as close as it gets, in spite of the calamari being fried. They are delicious, and the boys are amazing fun, so it'll be fine! In the meantime, walkies are the order of the day. It is so flat here, I am seriously missing my hills from home. I'm not missing my scale, though - and hoping it won't be too bad when I get home!4 -
Welcome back @MandiSaysHey !! We missed you

We ate the entire remaining half of the birthday cake yesterday. No regrets, but definitely a lot of calories.
Life is super hard right now, and I see a few of you are also struggling in various ways. Brighter days are ahead so for now, let's all just face it down a day at a time, or even an hour at a time.
I'm hoping to get to the gym this weekend but that will depend on how my ribs feel. So far I have seen dramatic improvement so I'm hopeful.4 -
Hello, my all time starting weight was 288. This week was 220.8, and I will weigh in on Mondays.
Sorry for my disappearance. I had a lot going on, some good (new relationship, going GREAT) and some stressful (family stuff, re-org) at work. So I just let my eating habits go. But after gaining back 12-14 lbs over the last few months I am ready to get back to business. Thank you all for having me back! ❤6 -
@jugar Thank you. I should pay particular attention to veggies and those other things this week. I don’t know why I over complicate things that can be simple.6

Sooooo it was my birthday yesterday and well, I've had quite the fun week! It hasn't been so great for my weigh-in but I had a lovely birthday and it was nice, now it's back to business I'm at 2246

@EvMakesChanges I am glad you are enjoying Noom and getting something out of the articles. It is interesting to read the psychological part of weight.
@MandiSaysHey Welcome back!
@AshenMoon Happy Birthday!!!
@MoStacy Looks beautiful! It is definitely hard to stick to a meal plan when you are traveling. Enjoy your time.
The scale hates me. I had a decent day yesterday and the scale was up even higher then yesterday!🙄 I know it is just a number but in May, I was one pound away from my first goal and I have gained back 3-4 pounds in June!!!! I have been regularly working out. I have been doing better with my steps. I try to run up and down the stairs a few times a day!!! But, I am eating closer to maintenance. But, not in a surplus, so I am surprised by this gain.4 -
@AshenMoon Happy birthday!
@micki48 We didn't take any pics, no... didn't even think of it at the time. Oops
Rainy day here.... the smell outside is amazing! Brad and I took the bikes out again last night for an even longer spin.
We have extremely hot weather for Alberta coming up starting tomorrow and into early next week. Early morning and later evening will be key for outdoor exercise!
Well, stressful day of work ahead.. best not to delay it any longer Enjoy the day!2 -

Brad! You are saving us from a rather poor showing as a team this week! Thanks Well done!
I will post now while the internet is still working (I'm glad my daughter has good internet at work and can use data while at home when her wifi is being grumpy...). It is my last day here, so you can bet we're going to make it a good one, with a bunch of people coming over this evening to sit around a fire and eat too much food. Tomorrow I'll be travelling all day, so I'm not sure if I'll be able to do much catching up - but I'm looking forward to getting back home. My taller half has been keeping the weeds at bay and the garden watered, but I'm sure he'll be happy to relinquish those duties. First cherry tomatoes and the red currants will be getting ripe soon, so the timing was perfect. I love those little things...
@MoStacy
Great photo - and you did well! It is so hard not to gain while on vacation, but keeping it within reason is possible, at least.
@KellyBgetsfit
I feel your frustration - it is so hard when whatever mysterious thing is happening that the scale just gives us discouragement. The working out can add muscle which weighs more than the fat it is replacing, it can also add water weight while you're building up new tissue, and that is all good. You have increased your workouts (and running up those stairs!), so I think that must be at least part of the story. If it still goes up more, maybe it is time to revise the calorie goal, as miserable as that might seem. Lots of fibre can help too - you know my usual song - more veggies!
Happy belated birthday @AshenMoon !
OK, the coffee is almost gone - time to get outside.5 -
I had 2.5 diet Mountain Dews today ….. I’m embarrassed to guess how many I was drinking per day a few weeks ago but 2.5 is a significant improvement! I’d like to be at zero Monday.4

I can't believe it is already my last night here at my daughter's. I just found out that my ride from the airport to home has fallen through, so I am frantically trying to figure out how to get around that. My husband cannot pick me up because I am contaminated with animal hairs of all kinds, so it is a bit tricky. Wish me luck!

I'm looking forward to getting home, but I'll miss hanging out with all the creatures, riding every day, and gabbing non-stop with my daughter and all her friends... I may not be able to log in tomorrow - see you Saturday!4
