Awesome step!@tazaria87 if your lawn looks like those cookies it's amazing. You seem to do everything exceptionally.
@theresam787 it looks like you handled all the company rather well. You deserve a reward. A lovely walk along a trail on national trail day. It's also national black bear day but I hope you don't meet any of those.
To those who mysteriously gained this week, IT'S ONLY A NUMBER. IT'S HOW WELL YOU FEEL. YOU ALL ROCK.
Check in for 6/4:
Steps - 2461 plus 2 miles in 7 minutes on a bike. Moderate effort. 17mph. Stayed inside otherwise.
Calories - 1470 or so. Juicy watermelon for dessert.
Exercise - gym. 6 machines, mainly legs. Bike. Rubber legs had me stop early.
Eating bfast out tomorrow. Black bear diner. Probably take tomorrow off or just an easy walk.
Great job on the exercise! Yesterday was donut day but I ate no donuts. Gave my grandkids one instead. Enjoy your breakfast!Beautyofdreams wrote: Β»I had been extremely depressed for the past month with the skin grafts and lack of exercise. While I did gain weight, my measurements didnβt change and my clothes all fit. So time to get over this fear and do what I can control. Dr. expects the skin grafts will be finished by July. I hope so and can hardly wait to get back to weighted lower body exercises and walking. Transplant tells me to continue wearing a mask and social distancing though restrictions were lifted. Get to see them for my first two year visit this month. Will be complaining about the fact that no one wants to manage my low cortisol levels despite the fact that I canβt get into an Endocrinologist for months.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!
It has to be incredibly hard to stop all the exercise you were doing. Good luck with your visit.4th june

Treadmill has arrived woop woop. Did a little test walk on it yesterday and it feels great. Will do my usual dog walking this morning for my friends dog and then get on the treadmill π
Yay! Canβt wait to hear how it goes on the treadmill today.3 -
Check in for Friday
β Steps 8,939

β physio 2/2
Lots of steps for me. I walked in the morning and I had to walk all over the hospital for my tests and doctors appointment in the afternoon. Nothing could be near each other. Sleep has been off 2 days but I know the culprit. I stuck to my plan with the pizza and I didnβt get up in middle of the night and eat the leftovers. The biggest surprise was the scale was actually down this morning. The scales are a very mysterious thing. A walk today will depend on how I feel after grocery shopping.

Wake up, coffee, walk, shower, help pack and say our goodbyes. I honestly don't know if I'll get in a walk, and if I do, it's probably going to be super short. I've already talked to myself (yes, I do that a lot, and yes, I do answer myself). If there isn't time for a walk, there isn't time. If I don't hit my step goal, I don't hit it. I get so wrapped up in these goals, I forget that its to make me healthy, not neurotic.
I'm looking forward to reading everyone's posts. Have a great night!
@TheresaM787 - Great mindset and I couldn't have said it better. The real end goal is to make our lives better and that can mean different things to different people of course but life is too short not to enjoy it. For me it's about extending my life by being healthy and being comfortable or confident in how I look, having energy to do the kinds of activities I enjoy and yes, even enjoying that snack, desert, drink, etc. when it's time to celebrate with family and friends - or even simply just because I want to enjoy the moment.
On an unrelated note, there seems to have been a lot of talk about donuts so for those of you have time resisting the urge to snack on them ... imagine having a son that works there and regularly brings a dozen home with him. Talk about drawing on will power!
Here's my oldest son (just graduated and heading off to The Ohio State University in the fall) getting ready to head off to work to man the drive thru window.

June 4th
My step count was 22,770. I didnt do my jumps and my knees have thanked me. I did stay under calorie goal. I cant wait to be able to get in my pool. I like to do exercises in there as it is easier on me. Like jumping Jack's dont hurt my knees in the water as much as out of it.
I am still figuring out how to respond to questions on here. I need to know how to respond to specific people's post . Like how to tag someone I think. I am not great with technology lol.1 -
Super Saturday Morning Everyone!
No spectacular plans on tap for me today.... Other than grocery shopping and taking my son to get his first Covid Shot, it's pretty much just feed my legs day and take it easy.
I'm going to eat a good bit more than usual just like last Saturday. The way I see it, is the "leg factory", just hired a bunch of new workers to flood the "leg factory floor", and they all trying to make repairs on the Leg assembly line, however they need parts to facilitate repairs and it's my job to get them the parts they so need otherwise the whole factory may need to shut down, until said parts arrive. πππ
So, serving up parts is what I'm up to today, and while I'm at it, no exercise. I don't want to accidently hurt any of the workers while making said repairs. Happy work force, generally means quality work after all.
Down the factory feed hole this morning...
Keto Brown Sugar and Cinnamon Waffle Breakfast Sandwich with Keto Maple Syrup, 2 Eggs easy over, 2 bacon, 10 Grams butter.... Hot diggity that was more delicious than I expected. Meanwhile the Factory workers roar in a triumphant cheer as the Parts hit the Factory Floorβ!!!
Have a Super Saturday Everyone! π And be sure to treat your Factories workers right! ππ
P.s. it's not as bad as it looks... 650 calories all in only 2% net carbs. Just 150-200 calories more then my usual breakfasts.

I love using the pool. I find it easier to do jumping jacks as well as squats and lunges. When will your pool be opened? There is a pool in our building but COVID restrictions do not allow it to be opened.3 -
@jimboden3
You and Theresa are so right. My grandkids stayed overnight. We bought a cupcake to have today and we are having brunch. Granddaughter wanted to try a new recipe. I am slightly over on calories for the day but it all evens out through the week. Time with them is precious so I am going to enjoy and not get uptight about the calories.
You must be incredibly profundity of your son. Congratulations to him! π
@lmf1012
Nice loss!
@amymartin555
I was just telling my hubby that I have to start getting up early and doing my walk first thing. It is going to be very hot and humid so I donβt want to be walking in that.
@Poobah1972
Love your description of those leg muscles repairing. That breakfast sandwich looks amazing.

@jimboden3 Oh, My! What a tough temptation you have! Your son is a fine young man!

Thank you linda! I knew about the quote button but not the other. And my pool is my personal above ground pool. We had to totally drain and clean it this year and are in the process of filling it up. We have well water out here so we have let the pump rest every couple of hours. It takes days to fill.2 -
@Beautyofdreams - I am so sorry that you are going through this setback. You are strong and will get through this.

I honestly thought I wasn't going to show a loss this week. I've been seeing the same number as last week on the scale every day. Just yesterday I was 161.6. Now today somehow I've dropped almost 2 pounds. It's a mystery.
Yesterday was grocery shopping day so I was gone most of the afternoon. Used the treadmill in the evening to finish out my steps. I've seen a couple comments about ice cream lately. Have you guys ever tried the frozen greek yogurt bars by Yasso? They are fantastic, have lots of flavors and are 100 calories each. And not tiny, which I was pleasantly surprised about. In my freezer now is sea salt caramel, fudge brownie, mint chocolate chip, coffee chocolate chip, and chocolate chip cookie dough.5 -

A good portion of those steps were from moving 6 yards of rock from the front driveway to the backyard-pretty much a six hour solid workout! Surprisingly not too sore today-but it could still hit tomorrow.

@Megan_smartiepants1970
I'd say with that distance to just round up. LOL. Still amazes me that you can walk that long and that far. That scale had better start to show your hard work soon.
@rlaskey2
Sounds like a great day! Good steps!
@888Angie888
Wow! Now that is some hard work!
@lindamtuck2018
Yay on the pizza! You had a plan and followed it through for a successful evening. I'm so glad your scale was kind to you this morning. Our neighborhood pool never shut down. Not ever. It was ridiculous to see and it upset us because we have to pass the pool on the way in and out of the subdivision. Then I figured out why the pool never closed. One of the homeowner association board members was one of the ones using the pool regularly. I haven't been swimming yet this year, but I want to. It is such good exercise.
@Tazaria87
It really is so weird how the scale can fluctuate so much from one day to the next. I'm going to look for the Yasso bars. I've never heard of them.
@Poobah1972
Oh, my! That picture. That description of your meal. Amazingly delicious!
@amymartin555
I used to jump rope for exercise. It really gets your heart rate up there! It really is great for burning calories. My knees can no longer handle it, so I totally get it when you said your knees thanked you. Still a super high step count!
@jimboden3
I agree that we do have to enjoy sometimes and not be so uptight about calories 100% of the time. I am much better with that now. There were times in the first several months where I was brought to tears over my family wanting to go out to eat...again...and feeling overwhelmed with how to make it all work when my family wants takeout, dessert or going out to eat. I would get so frustrated, sometimes angry, etc. but not show it to them. I held it inside. Anyway, yes, balance is so much better for me and making good choices that are in line with my goals most of the time. Your son brings KK home? Okay, well that's another story. I do not know if I could handle that on a regular basis. They melt in your mouth. I think I drooled a little bit just seeing that picture with the KK name on it. Hahahaha.5 -
I made it 16 hours again today π The scale headed in the right direction and I stopped to get my daughter started me fiber one bars before her 5 hour long dance rehearsal today and when I rung it up it immediately spit out a receipt as paid. Gotta love digital coupons!
My good mood triggered a pay it forward moment and I paid for the car behind me a Starbucks. @littleflutterby - I have always wondered, do Starbucks workers like when you get a chain reaction of cars paying for the car behind or do you hate it? Does it cause a lot of having to explain and does that cause delay? Iβm just curious as to the impact on the workers. Of course I even gave the max tip just to my barista
Honestly- it depends on the barista you talk to.
I LOVE it when people pay for the car behind, I think it's a lovely gesture, and it can cheer up the person behind . However, I am not a fan of chains. Only because at some point someone gets screwed and feels compelled to pay a crazy amount of money when all they ordered was a cheese danish and a small coffee haha.
But paying it forward is a lovely concept as a whole. I just say "the person in front of you paid for your coffee today, have a wonderful day!" Buuuuut like i said, some baristas think chains are awesome.
And on behalf of all starbucks partners- THANKYOU FOR TIPPING!!!! It's super helpful

Iβve officially crossed into 20 lbs LTD. While the scale keeps fluctuating a little bit, Iβve had 2 readings below 160! I have a lot more work to do, but this is encouraging!
Steps for the last few days:
6/1: 10,371
6/2: 4,920
6/3: 8,623
6/4: 10,236
Iβve been cleaning, walking, etcβ¦though, there have been a couple days where Iβve taken it slightly easier. Today is going to be one of those days, as well. Iβm spending the day with my nephew. We walked around a museum, but idk that I will actually get my full 6K, let alone 10+.

@TheresaM787
I Started doing Keto over 16 years ago, when I initially lost 200+ pounds and became a hulking Gym beast... So I know just how good it is as a weight loss tool for me. Cause I'm literally never hungry, and all cravings essentially disappear. Also known to be very muscle sparing, especially when combined with weight lifting. So it's a win win in many respects. Lynn and I are going on 4 years of being together, and when we started keto together the first time in 2019 (this is after I put back on 300+ pounds over the prior 11ish years), she was a little skeptical of Keto. One day I'll post a picture approximately Christmas 2018, and I might be close to 600 pounds.... In 2019 we lost quite a bit, but things eventually fell off the tracks a bit for me in the end of july 2019. I think I lost about 100lbs though. And things never fall off the tracks like they did in the past. I still ate breakfast at home every day, I still brought a lunch to work, and it was only on my way home from work that I faltered pretty much every day. But Being so big, I didn't gain a whole lot of weight till we started again this January 2021. (My guess is 487.5 ish pounds)
Anyway she's now a full Keto convert and all in... She too, can't believe how we are practically never hungry. Feel great all the time (well 99%), never get sleepy or drowzy mid-day (unless we did a stupid amount of exercise or didn't sleep well the night before). Plus the biggest thing, we have our foods down, we absolutely love everything we eat. And I make the most amazing Keto Bread every single week.
So why did I gain all the weight back... I was in a horrible relationship... I moved far out of town with this person... I stopped going to the gym. I was in a bad place, I no longer cared about myself. And it all fell to pieces, and I once again found comfort in food. Plus don't get me wrong, once I was benching 380 pounds, and squatting 450+, and deadlifting 750 for reps. I wasn't even on keto anymore, I transitioned to a true power lifters diet, and Ate like a monster... Super high protein, low fat, moderate to high carbs depending on time of day and when my next workout was.
The point is Keto isn't a dead end diet... All diets are a deadend, if you lose the love life, and self and don't care anymore. So Lynn and I already promised ourselves, once we get to maintenance, we will continue to log our food for at least 1 year to ensure whatever our diet looks like at that time, we will have a strong idea of what maintenance is regardless of diet type.
I talk to much yo!8 -
@lindamtuck2018
Wowww! Look at all of those steps ππ»ππ» Plus three goals CRUSHED! Hopefully you'll be able to sleep in the morning. You are too good, giving the kids your donuts for Donut Day.
@roz0810
Congrats on your new treadmill arriving! Very nice steps ππ»ππ»
@Beautyofdreams
I am so sorry to hear that. You're doing so well with your grafts and understanding that the scale is not the measurement to look at right now. You are so very close to finishing the grafts. You have done so much to get to this point. You can do this. Please keep wearing masks and social distancing, we keep hearing about people who are not vaccinated and they are choosing not to wear masks. You are especially susceptible right now. May I please put you in a bubble? π€
@rwood566
Thank you! I'm looking forward to my morning walk and then getting back on the bike with a bit of strength training. The fun holidays list that I pulled says tomorrow is also... Drive-In Movie Day (that's more my speed).
Nicely done, with steps and super low calorie day (yummy watermelon dessert). You are super speedy on the bike, that is really fast! Plus more leg machines, jelly legs for sure. Are you going to Black Bear Diner in honor of Black Bear Day?
@363days & @Aqualang26
Nice loss ππ»ππ»ππ»ππ»
@Tazaria87
You decorated your cookies so beautifully! You have serious willpower to not eat them, that was a brilliant idea to make an equal number of each. Now I want cookies π
@Poobah1972
I am so sorry to hear about what you went through, that is terrible that another person can do that to you. I'm glad that person is out of your life and that you have found Lynn, someone who is so supportive of you and wants the best for you (now that's a silver lining). It sounds like you found an eating style that works really well for you, and Lynn. It's important to love what you're eating while in deficit (because that's usually how you'll be eating in maintenance). Your keto bread sounds fantastic. There are several Ketoers (is that the term?) here, feel free to bounce recipes off one another.1 -

11,192 steps so far I'll update if I do anymore walking.
I'm on day 2 of a 48hour diet break. I meant to keep it to 24 hours but I have pretty restrictive for a long time and didn't want to go back to eating in my deficit until having an unholy amount of hot cheetos and a giant bluberry muffin. That being said it's no wonder how I gained 30lbs in 3 months apparently I have some issues.
I weighed in at 149.0lbs all the junk food messed my weigh in up pretty bad but it happens.
6/4/21
I walked 1,927 steps it was an active rest day where I cleaned a lot.5
