    Amazing loss!

    @888Angie888
    That would be such a good workout. I wonder how many calories you burned.

    @red1185
    Congrats on losing 20 pounds! Welcome to a new decade!

    @Beverly2Hansen
    How long have you been counting calories for? A few people on the team have done diet breaks. I sort of took one but it was more of a time to reassess my eating while not weighing in officially for 2 weeks.

    14,700 steps

    Staycation is over. Time to get back to reality. Plan for tomorrow:
    -Walk after coffee
    -Make Sunday breakfast
    -Bike, arms and core
    -Walmart trunk order (online grocery order- pop trunk, Walmart places groceries in trunk)
    -Kids choice ( thinking they are going to choose bookstores again)
    -Attend a friend’s soft opening of his Italian restaurant

    @TheresaM787 yes, went to honor the day. They think we eat like bears there. OMG portions.

    @Poobah1972 it looks like your will and determination is as large as your muscles were before. Amazing work.

    There are so many of you with high steps. Great work. Then there is @Megan_smartiepants1970 who passes high step counts half way thru her walk. You are a goddess.

    Check in for 6/5:
    Steps - 2897. 2 trips to the store. Have to stop reading cookbooks.
    Calories - 1537. Ate half my breakfast and light lunch and dinner. Ate a twinkie for dessert with some raisins. First twinkie in about 3 years.
    Exercise - off day. Ate 4 tums since my chest started up again last night. Lots of burping but no reflux up the throat. Want to do slow walk in a.m.

    Edit - just ate the twinkie. I wrote the first part before eating it. Now I remember why I haven't had one in so long. Looks great, smells wonderful, tastes like whip cream inside plastic. Hope it'll be a few years before I eat it again. Sadly, I used to love them.

    I made it 16 hours again today 😁 The scale headed in the right direction and I stopped to get my daughter started me fiber one bars before her 5 hour long dance rehearsal today and when I rung it up it immediately spit out a receipt as paid. Gotta love digital coupons!

    My good mood triggered a pay it forward moment and I paid for the car behind me a Starbucks. @littleflutterby - I have always wondered, do Starbucks workers like when you get a chain reaction of cars paying for the car behind or do you hate it? Does it cause a lot of having to explain and does that cause delay? I’m just curious as to the impact on the workers. Of course I even gave the max tip just to my barista

    Honestly- it depends on the barista you talk to.

    I LOVE it when people pay for the car behind, I think it's a lovely gesture, and it can cheer up the person behind :) . However, I am not a fan of chains. Only because at some point someone gets screwed and feels compelled to pay a crazy amount of money when all they ordered was a cheese danish and a small coffee haha.

    But paying it forward is a lovely concept as a whole. I just say "the person in front of you paid for your coffee today, have a wonderful day!" Buuuuut like i said, some baristas think chains are awesome.

    And on behalf of all starbucks partners- THANKYOU FOR TIPPING!!!! It's super helpful :):):)

    Thanks for clarifying that. Don’t look at it as someone gets screwed. They made a choice to keep it going even if their original order was cheaper. They don’t know if the chain gets broken behind them. When the chain does break, you only hope that it was that person that needed it that day. 😊

    PS- I always tip well to make up for those who don’t.

    In Gretchen Rubin’s book, Better Than Before, she writes,
    “What we do every day matters more then what we do once in a while.”
    What is one habit that you do every day that helps you on your path to become healthier?

    Tracking everything even when over calories is great. As much as I hate to see the red it always feels good that I honestly logged. You have a great plan for the day. Do you always do online grocery shopping? I only did it while we had COVID and when moving. It prevents impulse buying.

    @rwood566
    I don’t know if you can get twinkies in Canada but I vaguely remember bringing the home once when we went shopping in the States for the day. Do you have any favourite cookbooks?

    I weigh myself. I know it can be a bad thing, but for me it's a reminder that I'm trying to lose. I don't care what it says, just the process of weighing. With my memory problems if I don't do something for a few days I can forget all about it.

    Question

    We are under an air quality advisory. We are also having high heat and humidity. Do those of you walking in the heat and humidity have any tips?

    We still do online grocery for that exact reason. It helps prevent me from impulse buying. I used to be terrible in the before times at both Target and Walmart. I'd go in with a list, and then see this thing and that thing, think that's a great price we could use that. When I go to check out I'd get sticker shock from the final total of all of my this and thats.

    QUESTION OF THE WEEK
    YES, that's a good one habit that you do every day that helps you on your path to become healthier. Tracking everything that you eat and drink is a good way to spot trends and hold yourself accountable. Nice one!

    @rwood566
    QUESTION OF THE WEEK
    SAME here, I like your habit of weighing yourself just as a reminder that you are trying to lose. I weigh myself daily, to remind myself that the (1) weight naturally fluctuates and (2) that the scale is not the only measurement of what I've been doing- thank you NSVs.

    @Megan_smartiepants1970
    Ok, I tried to get to 4.5 miles, didn't quite get there (4.3 and I was done). I know I need to work myself up to your superstar level. I think I'll strive to repeat 4.3 for a week, and then try to increase one more block next week. I should reach you by August 🤣

    No humidity here but definitely heat and poor air quality. I am up earlier than I wanted on a Sunday morning so that I can walk the puppies. Early morning of later in the evening is the only way to get outdoor activity in this time of year.

    I ended up with 30, 820 steps by the time I went to bed at 11pm ...I have always been a walker and I am one to push myself saying you can go further than the day before .... I do not like rest days as I am an antsy person but I know that I need too ... In the past I have over done it and kept having injuries .... I am no spring chicken and I have to keep reminding myself that ...so no walking today or any Sunday's for that matter :)

    @red1185 Big whoop, whoop for hitting the 20lb mark
    @theresam787 My plan for increasing steps is just wareness - I know that when my steps are low, it is because I have been sitting during the day while working - I get so easily distracted, it is hard to make myself get up and move, but even having 10 minute breaks will increase my steps. I take my dogs on walks, but they are such "smell-ers" that the walks are slow and although they take time, we don't get a lot of steps in. I'm also enjoying short step videos.
