Fantastic two days ππ»ππ» It sounds like a busy couple of days, filled with walks and camp. You are very sweet to bake those pretty cookies for your cousin's baby shower. Show a picture, if you can. Wouldn't it be nice if we had a Rosie, like in the Jetsons to clean up our kitchen messes?
Yes please! I love making cookies and cakes but I always make a huge mess haha.

@Tazaria87
You stay so busy! That is a lot of work doing those cookies. Will it be hard for you not to eat any or many? Or do you just get down to business knowing that they are for someone else?
She wanted 4 dozen so I made 4 dozen. Since I treat it like she "ordered" 4 dozen (even though she isn't paying me) there aren't any extra to eat =] Also I'm really particular about there being the same amount of cookies per design so one can't just 'disappear' haha. In this case there are 6 designs, 8 cookies each!3 -
I made it 16 hours again today π The scale headed in the right direction and I stopped to get my daughter started me fiber one bars before her 5 hour long dance rehearsal today and when I rung it up it immediately spit out a receipt as paid. Gotta love digital coupons!
My good mood triggered a pay it forward moment and I paid for the car behind me a Starbucks. @littleflutterby - I have always wondered, do Starbucks workers like when you get a chain reaction of cars paying for the car behind or do you hate it? Does it cause a lot of having to explain and does that cause delay? Iβm just curious as to the impact on the workers. Of course I even gave the max tip just to my barista
Good job... What is your overall impression so far?

Evening Guys and Gals!
Leg day was a complete success. Though I must admit, I'm pretty sure Lynn actually loves leg day way more then I. (Crazy right?). π
Just a small recap...
Squatting my body weight all the way down to 12.5 inches off the ground was intense... But I managed to complete 2 sets of 10 but many of the reps were excruciatingly slow as I tried to find muscles to recruit on my way up (I remember years ago, I had all sorts of muscles, where did they go? lol π), then due to Lynn showing off, and hugging a 25-pound plate to her chest as she did her final set and rocked it. Johnny boy (me), thought well if she can hug a 25lb so can I... Right? HELL, NO I CAN"T π« . I did 1 rep with that 25lb pressed to my chest, and it took me what must have been a good 10 seconds just to get up again and everything I had in me π. I handed the 25lb plate to Lynn, and managed 3 more reps, and on the 4th one, I completely failed and landed my *kitten* in the seat. Lol I could barely get up with my hands planted on my knees and bending over. Then once I did get up, I tried another rep again... AND HELL NO, I could not get up again I was done. π
But this is a huge improvement I figure from the 14.5" mark. 2" when your talking sub 90-degree squats is a lot! Plus, I'm sure I did a number on my legs today, which is what were after, after all. π
As for Leg Extensions and Leg curls I certainly killed it, much improved over last week. I did more weight than last week with both, and my leg curls in particular were super slow and steady both up and down and I increased weight twice. Took everything i had to give though, and I kept a steady pace, no lollygagging and trying to take extra breaths.
As for the 4th exercise... Amazon delivered Lynn and I 2 sets of Bands.... Short 10" loop bands in 6 different strengths. We slipped them around our ankles, and did standing lateral leg lifts, alternating legs counting to 20. This was much more intense than last week, where we did the same thing without bands. I like this exercise.
And for the final bit of torture....
I tried to do Calf Raises at the same time I was holding 2 s 45lb plates in my hands while simultaneously performing shrugs. Once again... HELL NO. π€£ lol... I was just way to unbalanced, and I was going to end up dropping the weights or falling over. So instead, I just did a set of shrugs, put the weights down and immediately did a set of calf raises without resting. Then Rested and repeated the process. I'm not ready for 2 x 45-pound plates for calf raises just yet (although i could do a few when I initially tried, but I was so unbalanced, a smith machine would prove useful here unfortunately)... But I'll have to do 25's next week. My calves were burning by rep 10 as it was.
So yeah... Love it! 708 more calories burned, and i particularly like the heart rate charts for weight lifting, you can literally see each set performed. Pretty kewl stuff. π
Week 2 of weight lifting.... COMPLETE! πππ€π€π€
Oh and supper tastes so much better after a hard workout. Hmmmmmmm.

Last day of staycation with extended family. Tomorrow, we rise, help pack and say our goodbyes. My goal is pretty ambitious. Wake up, coffee, walk, shower, help pack and say our goodbyes. I honestly don't know if I'll get in a walk, and if I do, it's probably going to be super short. I've already talked to myself (yes, I do that a lot, and yes, I do answer myself). If there isn't time for a walk, there isn't time. If I don't hit my step goal, I don't hit it. I get so wrapped up in these goals, I forget that its to make me healthy, not neurotic.
I'm looking forward to reading everyone's posts. Have a great night!4 -

In no way are you ever a disappointment to this team, this entire forum, or this world. You are a cheer leader, you support all those around you. You are a warrior!
Of course all that walking has shaken up your leg muscles, not to mention lower back to mid back. Your muscles are restoring to there full pre-operation glory! Nutrients are flooding them to facilitate nutrients and muscle recompositing. You know it, and we sure as heck know it. Your doing this right... To hell with the scale I say.
You my friend are a role model to me. And were all lucky to have you here.

That was so beautifully said! @Megan_smartiepants1970 I second this.

@azkunk thank you for your professional opinion. I always accept them. I go antsy if I don't do something for more than a couple days. I went to the gym with daughter today. She is trying to get thinner by the end of June for Disneyland trip.
On another topic, there are insulated grocery bags that can keep cold things cold. Do you have any? If not I can send you one or two to try out. We've put ice and water bottles in them, left them in the hot car all day and still had ice 6 hours later.2 -
@Tazaria87
Now that is a plan! You completely set yourself up for success.
@Poobah1972
Great job on the legs!3 -
Thank you everyone for answering my IF questions,
@aqualang2065 - nice loss
@Poobah1972 - nice job! As far as IF, so far, so good. If I end the week with a loss, I will e much more enthusiastic. The structure is keeping me disciplined for now
@Tazaria87 - the cookies came out great

I do have insulted bags and I pack all of the cold and frozen stuff together. There is only so much you can do on a 106 degree day. By the time you get out of the grocery store, you could have baked cookies on the dashboard. That might be a slight exaggeration but I did have a coworker once bake cookies in his car during his shift but it took the whole day. Luckily, that new grocery store is so close that I can walk but I am not in this heat. We are at the point where we wonβt see a high temperature below 100 degrees before October. Soon enough the low temperature overnight wonβt even get below 100 π₯΅

@tazaria87 if your lawn looks like those cookies it's amazing. You seem to do everything exceptionally.
@theresam787 it looks like you handled all the company rather well. You deserve a reward. A lovely walk along a trail on national trail day. It's also national black bear day but I hope you don't meet any of those.
To those who mysteriously gained this week, IT'S ONLY A NUMBER. IT'S HOW WELL YOU FEEL. YOU ALL ROCK.
Check in for 6/4:
Steps - 2461 plus 2 miles in 7 minutes on a bike. Moderate effort. 17mph. Stayed inside otherwise.
Calories - 1470 or so. Juicy watermelon for dessert.
Exercise - gym. 6 machines, mainly legs. Bike. Rubber legs had me stop early.
Eating bfast out tomorrow. Black bear diner. Probably take tomorrow off or just an easy walk.4 -
I had been extremely depressed for the past month with the skin grafts and lack of exercise. While I did gain weight, my measurements didnβt change and my clothes all fit. So time to get over this fear and do what I can control. Dr. expects the skin grafts will be finished by July. I hope so and can hardly wait to get back to weighted lower body exercises and walking. Transplant tells me to continue wearing a mask and social distancing though restrictions were lifted. Get to see them for my first two year visit this month. Will be complaining about the fact that no one wants to manage my low cortisol levels despite the fact that I canβt get into an Endocrinologist for months.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!5 -
