@Beverly2Hansen I can print the cake and icing recipe for you, if you like. The icing is like fudge candy.5

@Beautyofdreams - tag me in that recipe ... you had me at fudge 🤤3

Check in for 6/7:
Steps - 3196. Treadmill for 10 minutes didn't count.
Calories. Around 1600. Today was chocolate ice cream day so I planned for it. Had overnight oatmeal for bfast. Tasted like my mom made so I was happy. Won't make nearly as much next time.
Exercise - gym with daughter after her work. Warmup on treadmill and 5 or 6 machines. Mostly back and arms. Zoo in the morning.
No call from my doc today. I get a apnea tester wednesday.6 -
@jimboden3 good luck with the treatment. Have fun on your hike trip if you can go.
@lmf1012 thank you for the recipe.
Team leaders - just thinking out loud, but I think it would be nice if the team could possibly get a page just for the recipes we share, so we don't have to scroll thru several pages. Just thinking.
So many more super step counts. You all are an amazing group.5 -
7th June
Steps: 11,238
@Megan_smartiepants1970
2 sessions on the treadmill, 40 mins and 35 mins then 30 minutes dog walking. 😊7 -
Beautyofdreams wrote: »@Poobah1972 your gym is so awesome! You and Lynn must be pretty strong already to carry in all those weight plates and handles. Are you running a push/pull/legs program?
I gota say, I'm pretty impressed with it. Not very much we can't do I wouldn't be doing in the big gym... Cept maybe a leg press machine would be nice to totally burn out the legs after squats etc... And a Smith would be a nice bonus, for some particular exercises I liked in the past such as heavy shrugs and Calf Raises. But I can make due with out it. I ordered a Hex bar, which should make life extra miserable in the future.
I was pretty educated with working out 15 years ago, but a lot of little details have gotten foggy over the years. I'm running a similar style 3 days split at the moment that I would have run back then, perhaps a few less sets all together (as I don't want a 2 hour workout anymore). Not sure what you would call it. But Monday is Back and biceps.. SO that would be a pull day. Wednesday is Chest and triceps and shoulders (a push day), and then Friday is Leg day.... So I guess I am... Or a Pull/Push/Leg.
Cheers

Great strength training session. It must feel so good to be getting stronger everyday. I hope the melatonin works. I struggle with sleep issues. I know it is so much easier to stay on track with both my food and walking when I sleep properly.
Thank you... Verdict is still out. Just way to hot and sticky last night for anyone to have gotten a good rest. YUCKY!
3 -
@azkunk - Nice work... WHoooo HOOO!
@roz0810 - How you loving that Treadmill?
Sweet Sweaty Tuesday... 💦😅💦
Did the Melatonin work? I'm not sure, I got 6 Hours and 43 minutes of sleep when I was shooting for 7 to 8. But the caveat here is, it was sweltering hot last night. I actually fell asleep almost instantly, and even though I woke up semi frequently it appears for the most part I fell back to asleep quickly. I don't think it's fair to say the Melatonin didn't work under these circumstances. Lynn actually gave up on sleeping at one point, so I definitely fared better than she did.
Even with a fairly decent sleep score of 71, I did not feel that rested given the sweltering humid heat. (no, we don't have AC upstairs, just on the main level). Had thoughts of maybe putting off walking this morning, but then I remembered what I said yesterday and rolled out of bed and strapped on my knee braces.
It was at least a few degrees hotter out there this morning... And much muggier. My shirt was completely trenched, as if I was standing in a shower. But I somehow stuck to it and did a full 6 laps. I will say though, I don't feel invigorated today, I really just want to take the day off and cool off in a cold bath with ice? lol
Apparently, we got one more day of this before things start to cool off again... Wonderful. 😋
Have a Sweet Sweaty Tuesday too? 😜🤗😎

@Poobah1972 🎉 Thank you Jonathan for becoming our newest team motivator! 🎉
@red1185 Nicely done! Not only did you blow away your goal on Saturday, you had a great step day on Sunday (no rest for you) 👏🏻👏🏻 You are absolutely right, weight does fluctuate and that positive mindset of yours will help carry you through. You're going to hit those goals!
@lindamtuck2018
Thank you, I am trying to give myself some grace and work my way back up again on the bike. It's a bit frustrating, although I keep telling myself "just get there, it doesn't matter if it takes an extra minute or two."
Oh goodness, to me, sleep is most important. I'd rather do the walking videos and get in more sleep, than get up early to get outside. Although, Megan is up and out at 5:30 (there is a 5:30?). There is also those rebounder thingamajigs, it looks like a tiny trampoline. Apparently you just walk in place on that, and it's supposed to get your heart rate up and steps in that way. I haven't tried it yet though. Let us know what you decide. Personally I love hearing about your walks to tea or around the geese filled ponds 😆
Thank you, this reworking of our day takes a little while, but eventually I'll get there. I'm not going to fall into the trap of not working out because we need to do xyz instead. I need to plan my day and work everything in 🤦🏻♀️🧐
Another four for four day 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 do a dance! Look at all of those steps 🤩 Deli meats do that to me too, that sodium is such a water retainer. It will flush away 😆 (sorry, couldn't help myself). I hope your head cold goes away soon, feel better. 🤗
@rwood566
Roger, they are both terrific cookbooks to have. Mmmm, I used to love steel cut oats. I made them in the crock pot. Now, I make baked oatmeal, so that I have a quick grab and eat available.
@Tazaria87
Wowww! Way to go smashing all of your daily goals 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 It sounds like you had two lovely walks. Yes, isn't it nice to get out at night? I just need to remember to carry a flashlight, it goes from dusk to dark pretty quickly. You're doing so amazingly well!********Ok MFP friends, I need to get my booty out the door. I'm looking forward to catching up with the rest of your posts later on today. Meanwhile, I'm thinking of getting a dog (not really, can't take care of one more thing) just for this meme.5 -

There is a page for recipes on the main page for recipes. I can’t seem to find it to post a link.

Can you see if you can find a link to the page otherwise I will ask @jugar

@TheresaM787
Awesome steps yesterday! I hear my daughter always complaining about iPads so it is tough. Mari, our previous captain, had one of those trampoline things. I don’t think that would be so good on my knee. After a knee replacement there are certain you are not supposed to do. I think the bounce won’t be good. I will figure it out.
@lcfa5317
Great job on tracking and exercising.
@azkunk
I am so glad the IF is working out for you. When you decide to do something your drive to get it done impresses me every time.
@Beverly2Hansen
Great day meeting all your goals. @Megan_smartiepants1970 should be able to convert the jogging in place to steps.
@amymartin555
Amazing steps! When using kettlebells to you have a routine or follow a video? Even though I have used them in the past with a trainer, I wouldn’t have a clue how to start.
@rwood566
I love how you plan and fit special treats like ice cream in your day. Nice work in the gym!
@roz0810
Your getting lots of use on the treadmill. Awesome day!
@Poobah1972
Luckily, we have air conditioning included with our rent. So I can run it as much as I need without worrying about the hydro bill. I am impressed that you walked in the humidity. We are getting thunderstorms later today in southern Ontario so I hope it cools things off a little. Another great burn for you today.

Way to much red! Trying to decide if I should go for a walk. I am not sneezing like yesterday but just a headache and stuffy nose. If I didn’t live in an apartment I would not have an issue going out. I am going to try and eat more today as I wasn’t able to close my diary.
Good news for Ontario. We are starting the reopening 3 days earlier. That means one step closer to the pool and exercise room opening not to mention a hair cut.
Have a terrific Tuesday!7 -

That quote is horrible... 😁 😋 - Stay safe and have a great walk! 😎6 -
@Beautyofdreams
One last thing worth mentioning... On off days like thursday, I'm probably going to step into the weight room and work on things like Wrist curl variations just to build forearm and grip strength. It's a non-sweaty exercise, so no need to change clothes and it's won't take more then 10 minutes, and the grip will come in really handy eventually as I start doing stupid heavy stuff. 😋😅
(I once use to be able to do 750+ deadlifts for reps, with no straps or hooks... Just pure grip... Crazy right... Ah the good ole days.)6 -

@jimboden3
I read that as you got to enjoy yourself at your son's graduation party and the scale barely moved 🤗. I'm glad everyone had a great time. Congratulations to Andrew🎉
I'm glad to hear that you can still do your walks (as long as you don't experience any discomfort) and go on vacation out west. Ahem- no lifting, no rowing. Take it easy, that way you get to enjoy your vacation. Fingers crossed you can get on the surgeon's calendar in August.
@Megan_smartiepants1970
You crack me up, "shorter walk at 6.64". Like I said, I'll get there by August 😆 My eyes just popped out like one of those old times cartoons, 10 MILES? You both are incredible! In my head I hear SuperWalkers (instead of Superman) 🤩
That's so good to hear about your blood sugar 🤗
You're "Pushing for 8 or more miles" today 🤣👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 So impressive!
@888Angie888
Incredible amount of high steps 👏🏻👏🏻 Way to go Angie!!
@Beverly2Hansen
Why can't technology work correctly all of the time? I know what you mean. I have three different pedometer apps on my watch, they all give me different steps and distance 🤦🏻♀️ Terrific high step day! That's impressive, jogging in place while watching TV. I can ride while watching, but if I was to jog (well for me walk) in place, I'd probably forget to move. Great work staying within your calorie budget and getting in all of that water!
@runzfromzombies
Congratulations on your loss 👏🏻👏🏻
@Poobah1972
Thank you again for joining the motivation team! I'm so glad that Linda and Megan asked you. You both are doing amazing with your eating, tracking, walking and strength training and now working on sleeping. I'm so glad you both are on this path together. Hopefully the melatonin worked, especially since you get up at 4:30 (I don't understand that number, 4:30).
It sounds like the melatonin worked 😄 Congrats on walking six laps AND in that humidity. You're definitely dedicated to sticking with it 🙌🏻🙌🏻
@lcfa5317
Nice loss and great work tracking your calories every day 👏🏻👏🏻 I'm glad that you are exercising daily and already feeling stronger. Nicely done🎉🎉
@azkunk
Day four! You did it AND over the weekend! Congratulations on your loss 👏🏻👏🏻 great work staying within your calorie goal and getting in 90 oz of water 🙌🏻 I'd be sloshing around 🤣 or peeing nonstop🤦🏻♀️
Thank you, this iPad battle is a tough one. It's almost like an addiction for them. They wake up it's the first thing they want to do. I am modifying an iPad schedule, thank you Pinterest.
@amymartin555
Fantastic steps today Amy AND kettlebells! I hope you slept well.
@rwood566
Great steps and that's not even counting the treadmill 👏🏻👏🏻 Nicely done staying within your calorie range. Super idea of planning to have the ice cream in your day. Your steel cut oatmeal sounds delicious. Good luck with your sleep apnea test! Great idea about a recipe page. I love that Robin Williams quote, thanks for sharing.
@roz0810
That was a huge increase in steps. Your treadmill is really stepping up your game (get it stepping, steps 🤦🏻♀️).
@BRGking
Terrific steps! Keep it up 🤩
@lindamtuck2018
🤗 You had over 5,200 steps 👏🏻👏🏻 AND that's with the head cold. It's so hard to sleep and exercise when you're not feeling well. Great news for you up in Ontario. Stay safe.5 -

I ended up kind of going on two walks again. I mentioned that my nieces were here. The four kids and I walked (I carried the baby) up to the elementary school and used the playground, and then walked back to the house after about an hour. They loved it, and it was nice to be outside. I also loved how calm they were after we got back haha. Then about 430, my dad asked if I would go walk with him. So of course I said yes. High step count day for me.
On another note, my husband made a vegetable yellow curry soup last night that was fantastic and low calorie. It created a few extra servings too, to use for lunches which I love. I've also been playing with my new bread machine a lot lately and made a pretty decent loaf of gluten free bread yesterday. I've also figured out how to make a great sandwich bread for my kids. No more buying bread from the store.

That is incredible serious walking.... Not surprised your stalled a bit, as your legs are getting into redonkerous shape. hopefully the flood gates will break open soon Megan!
@Tazaria87 You've been pretty steady on those great walks... But I don't need to tell you, I saw your photo's and your a verified MFP PRO!.. Hmmmm Curry!

@Tazaria87
Two walks that is great. Especially walking with 4 small kids. Is your Dad still using mfp?
@Megan_smartiepants1970
Over 3 hours! Thats one long walk. Well done!
In other news I survived my walk. Walked further than I planned. I also have lost my voice. Hubby will be delighted! 😂
