What a great way to make up calories!

I walked a little bit yesterday and will try again today. After the second lap I start having trouble catching my breath. I also did my arm work yesterday and plan to do it again today. Baby steps I guess!

I kept well in my calories today. They are having a special on Tuesdays at KFC for 8 pc of chicken for $10. Bill loves KFC, and usually really overeats when we get chicken. He did eat a lot :), but he really needs a cheat once in a while, too. I had two thighs with skin and breading taken off (love that that is in the tracker).

I wish I could still eat KFC; the gluten allergy has made that a no-no for me now. 😞

Wade liked to go to KFC on Livers Wednesdays. He'd bring a huge box full home and share them with Jake.

Not doing great eating wise. I've been enjoying my pumpkin roll this week - mmmm mmmm! One more piece. I have been doing a wee bit of house walking and upper body exercises though. Holding at my weight, no gains.

I haven't gotten on the scales recently. I'm kind of dreading it, since there were gains the last 2 times. Today wasn't bad. If I eat the full snack that I have logged, I will be pretty close to hitting 1200 calories.

Cindy - I wondered if Bill had a bit of gluten allergies, but it seems like he actually does better with sandwiches, pastas, etc. I just can't figure him out.

It took me 7 months to figure out my gluten allergy. And another few years to discover that I could eat sourdough bread.

I'm also a little nervous about getting on the scale when I get back home. I haven't really overeaten on this job, but I did bring some peanut butter m & m's with me and I've been having a few each night... (after I have an apple with peanut butter). I think I'll be happy if I break even and just not have gained any weight while I've been here. Other than Sunday - when I got a little over 6,000 steps, I've been averaging between 3,000 - 4,000 steps. I'm still nursing the bad heel, but it really is getting just slightly better every day.

I did get on the scale and lost 2.4 pounds. That totally surprised me. I haven't even been as diligent with no sugar, just staying in calorie range. I haven't been craving sweets, so staying away from sugar to begin with was definitely the right thing to do. Now the next thing is to try to get back on some type of intermittent fasting schedule. I could easily do a 12 hour, but I used to do 8/16, and I'm not sure I want to change my mealtimes away from when Bill eats, so it would be difficult.

Connie, you might also lose some of your metabolism when you fast for 16 hours.

Cindy, sure doesn't sound too bad to me. We finished our jelly beans and are not planning on getting any more. We would do five to eight jelly beans in the evening so they lasted a long time, but there is no value in eating them but rather a negative, so I don't think we'll get any more.

I watched a video this morning on Lipedema and learned quite a bit more than I knew before. I knew that the fat collected under the skin, but I didn't know that scar tissue formed around it and that's why you can't get rid of it by diet or exercise, your body can't get to it! A Keto diet also works very well in helping to lose the normal fat in your body as well as helping with some of the side effects of Lipedema. Lipedema can cause Lymphedema when it swells and then damages the passageways. Carbs are not my friend - wahhhh! I'm going to start out halving my carb intake, and when that is a habit, I'll halve it again until I'm down to maybe 30 carbs a day. I'm going to start tracking to see how many carbs I am actually getting in a day and ways I can lower it. One thing she mentioned was dairy and how in some people having dairy can cause side effects as well. I have very little dairy now (mostly my creamer and a couple nights a week with my cereal (which is going to have to go by the wayside)! Wade is going to make me an omlete in the morning instead of my Aussie Bite, which I just ordered another box of! But, I can plan it in until they are gone. I need to get the extra weight off and this seems like the way to go.

I hope y'all are feeling well. I'm so glad things are going so much better for you, Connie! Love y'all.

I was a bit low on calories today, but I did stay within my 12 hours. Tomorrow will be a cheat day big time. We are having a wms picnic at the pastor's wife's house. I am going to enjoy. One of Bill's friends from church came up to me Sunday and told me that he is going to come sit with Bill so I can go. I jumped on the chance. I just hope they don't run into issues!

Oh, that was so nice. I hope you are having a good time!

Ugh, my documents on my computer won't open. OneDrive has done something to them. Several of my files were put into the OneDrive garbage can. I restored a bunch, some I had no idea what they were so will let them go. Each of my documents has that folder box on it. Wade knows how to undo it, so I'll wait until he's done mowing to get that done! Sigh.

I had my usual Aussie bite and coffee for breakfast. I'm cutting out the coffee flavored protein drink, it adds carbs. My creamer probably adds some too, but not nearly as many. I had a spicy chicken thigh for lunch and am going to do a hamburger (no bread) for dinner. I'll probably add a salad. My snack this evening will be an apple. I've lost 1/2 since Thursday!

I have been totally bad today, and probably tomorrow as well. Back to working on it on Monday.

Today I begin to lower my carb intake - I began by eating an Aussie Bite with my coffee! That should be the last of my complex carbs for the day. Lunch will be a salad, dinner will be meat and veggies. Snack, Apple with peanut butter or cheese. In things I've read or listened to recently about lipedema and lymphedema, people have had success at it by doing a keto or carnivore diet. I also need to be consistent with wearing my compression garments and doing my massage. Ugh! It's too hot right now to do the compression wraps, I get overheated just from wearing my wrist brace! God being my strength we will be able to do this!

I am back on my healthy eating after totally blowing it the last couple of days. Next weekend will be bad, too. I am just hoping that being good during the week will deter anything I gain. I think I will put off weighing until a week from today, then start from there

I haven't been to my workout class in several months (mostly because I've been out of town on Mondays). I may try and go tonight, although there may be things I can't do because of my aching right heel.

I've been particularly bad with carbs lately. This morning I had a gluten free bagel with honey pecan cream cheese and for dinner I just ate a large sourdough grilled cheese sandwich. (sigh)

Well... I realized at 5 o'clock that my client hadn't sent over the files I was supposed to format for today's job, so I reached out to ask about that. By the time they came in at 6 and I saw how many there were, I knew there was no way I was going to get to my class last night. I was working on those until just past 9:30. So yesterday ended up being a fairly unhealthy day. ☹️

Y'all stay so busy with walking and taking care of family, you probably burn off whatever extra you put on.

I've been doing "eh" with my carbs. I am taking in less, but until we get to the grocery store this afternoon I don't have what I need to cut them as much as I would like to. I want to ultimately get down to between 50-75 carbs a day. I read that a low carb diet was 100-125 carbs a day, which is what I've actually been doing for a long time. I'll probably keep breakfast like it is, I'm just not up to making something in the AM. The rest of the day my carbs will come from fruit or my sweet potato wraps.

I have my CT scan this afternoon and then we'll go out to eat and do some shopping. For some reason they wanted me to fast for 6 hours before. I didn't do that with my last scan - but, who knows why they want what they want!

Praying y'all stay well and strong and are going deeper with the Lord!

I got back to my tracking today. It really isn't pretty, though. I had the last piece of birthday cake, soooo. Tomorrow it will look better.

I got some good lean meat protein and lots of veggies today. Discovered that, while I don't like pickles, I do like cucumbers. I fixed them like my Mom used to - slice them in a bowl, cover with water and ice cubes, a little sweetener and vinegar, set in the refrigerator for a couple of hours, then drain & eat. They were popular at tonight's supper.

Next, I need to work on drinking more water and taking short walks in the neighborhood.

Right now I'm not doing anything that takes exertion. My chest aches and my breathing becomes difficult whenever I just walk from one room to another. Can't wait 'til this clears up! I was thinking about it this morning - The first pneumonia last Sept/Oct I had to do two rounds of antibiotics; the second pneumonia in Dec/Jan I did two weeks of antibiotics; this time I just went through one round of antibiotics, or 10 days and I don't think that it cleared it up and that is why it is resolving still. I left a note with the Dr's office, asking if they could explain resolving pneumonia. I looked it up but all that came up was slow-resolving pneumonia or non-resolving pneumonia. Slow-resolving can be caused by not having the right antibiotics or antibiotic regimen. I'm just one month out from my last bout and often it can take one to two months for it to resolve, so that may just be it.

I am eating better and watching my carbs. Not getting it exactly right all the time, but more days are right than aren't! LOL! I'm still doing my multigrain muffin in the morning with my coffee and then a meat and veg or fruit for dinner and lunch. Last night my snack was a bowl of Pumpkin Spice Cheerios, but it's been 1/2 apple with cheese several nights.

I forgot to eat my snack tonight, so my calories were fairly low. I didn't check my carbs, but I really would have to cook two different meals if I closely watch them, and I'm just not doing that.

I cringed and got back on the scales today. It was exactly the same as the last time I weighed almost 2 weeks ago. There was a lot of cheating during that time, but I guess the days that I did watch my food made up for the cookies, ice cream and cake I was busy eating on other days.

Oh my, I think it's because you stay so busy too!

I've been eating better, although I can't say that I got less carbs while eating the lasagna we made. I love my Mom's recipe! Friends of mine have a spinach version where they replace the noodles with spinach. Not so sure I'd like that. I've been eating more salads and adding carrot and snap peas as well as using raspberry vinaigrette instead of French dressing. The vinegar bothers my throat at times though. This morning was not good, but then it's the weekend! I had my regular Aussie Bite but then Wade made biscuits so I had one of those. I'll have a piece of pie this afternoon (he made an Atlantic Beach Pie which is a lemon/lime type pie). More lasagna for lunch today and a salad tonight!

I have been fairly good today, I should wind up in calorie range, but it will be close. I haven't cheated per se, but dinner had quite a few calories. I made chicken fajitas last night, and took the left over chicken and chili beans and threw it into pasta with a bit of salsa and made a thick soup. I was afraid Bill wouldn't enjoy it very much, and I was right. He just isn't crazy about noodles, but I thought with the Mexican vibes that he would enjoy it more. He ate one small bowl. I love noodles, so I really enjoyed it.

I am up one pound, which isn't as bad as it sounds. I was up 3 pounds, so I've tried cutting out - okay, realistically cutting back on - chocolate (that is my downfall) and the result is a 2 lb. loss.

Cindy - Completely eliminating something we dearly love is unrealistic, so simply cutting back is very good. And you got good results!

Going for a walk on this beautiful October day.

I hope doing laundry burns lots of calories....that's how I spent my morning, but beds are clean, my comforter is clean, we have clean clothes and towels. Whew.

I have been fairly good today, and have plenty calories left for a good snack tonight.

I had a couple friends over on Wed morning. That meant banana bread, pumpkin donuts and cinnamon cream cheese. Well, 2 bad days followed, but the leftovers were really good. Back on track today.
