How do you determine if your swim pace is moderate or fast? Does the fact I am beat help?2 -

Have you started thinking about your August goals yet? I know I have! Can you share any goals you would like to work on for the upcoming month?
My August goals are ....be consistent in walking 3 days a week and using my home gym 3 days a week ...drink 120 ounces of water .... log everything (the good the bad the ugly) and stay under my 15% of carbs .... I really hope August will be better than July
Those are great goals! Hopefully, new month no headaches for you.Poobah1972 wrote: »lindamtuck2018 wrote: »First of all, amazing boxing session! Second of all, tell me more about the Fitbit strap. Would it fix the issue Roger had last night while pushing the cart? If you strapped it to your ankle it would count steps properly?
Yeep apparently it tracks steps just fine, and if you put it on the right spot on your ankle I do believe it can also track Heart rate pretty darn well too. Seems to work just fine on my forearm.
This picture should give you all you need to find AndreaReesDesign on Esty, and the ankle strap. The 13 x 2" model is generally the right size for a Versa... The 1.5" wide is better for the charge etc. They will also customize the length at no extra charge. Basically there is a 2.5 inch long bit of Velcro on each end. The material itself is stretchy. So you want to stretch a bit so it is snug. So I would suggest measure the circumference, and if ordered at that overall length it would then need to stretch just about right to put Velcro on Velcro, and have a snug fit.
Comes in all sorts of colors and patterns...
You can also see by the design it would be fairly simple to make yourself. Let me know what you end up doing.
That is so neat. I refuse to use the shopping cart as it won’t count my steps. I am going to order one.888Angie888 wrote: »Weigh Day Thursday

Have a doctor's appt to check on a really bad sprain I've had for over a month. I'm not overly frustrated with the weight gain, cause I know I'll lose it. I'm deeply frustrated cause I have not been able to exercise comfortably in that time... Anyway, it is tons better, and I'm hoping for the all clear. Lee4 -

Yup, that’s my steps! I was on the move yesterday getting to all my appointments. I walked to the first 2, took an Uber to get my blood work, walk to my next appointment and took an Uber home from there. I also went for a short walk with my friend. I had a great physiotherapy appointment yesterday and I am hoping that the things she showed me yesterday can keep the pain at a reasonable level. 🤞 I did have a minor binge in the middle of the night. It was totally my own doing as I did not eat properly all day.
I have my 3 month appointment with the dietitian this morning. I love these as he always has great tips. If it stops raining I will go out for a walk otherwise it will be inside hallway walking.
Happy Thursday!
Great job on those steps!!1 -

I think the jump is bloating from eating junk of Tuesday when we took kids to a Picnic grounds with water slides. They didn’t have any good options so I needed to make due. Still feeling bloated two days later but we had fun!!
Skipped workouts a couple of days since my back was sore and the kids lost the ball i have been using for the core portion of my workout even though I asked them 100 times not to touch it. I ordered a new one on Amazon should be here tomorrow.5 -

Hi, everyone! New here.
Highest weight: 230.8 (2012)
Starting Again: 215.2 (1/1/21)
Weighing in on Thursdays. Today’s weight 177.0.
Doing Weight Watchers because it works for me. I ate 18 points over today (😔), but at least I earned 26 activity points. Hopefully it’ll be ok.4 -
Hi guys! Sorry for the late weigh in.. I went away for a few days and didn't have access to the scales.
Just got home and knew it would be ugly so got it over and done with tonight...
Accounting for weight fluctuation (different time of day) and also I've been eating a lot more and not moving... its not the greatest end to the month... but at least my new month basically starts first thing in the morning!!
CW- 295.6 (Yes that is accurate lol)
Sorry for the high gain messing up the stats for the group... I'll make up for it next month I promise!!!5 -

Congratulations on your amazing loss! You will find that there is a wide variety of diet plans within the group. I personally had great success with weight watchers in the past. Do they still give extra weekly points? I am sure your activity points will offset the extra points you had today.

Never apologize for a gain. I hope you enjoyed your time away. How is your knee doing?

Finally, the pool and exercise room opened. So I have changed my walking goal to exercise. I am going to focus more on swimming, water exercises and the exercise bike. I very seldom can get my heart rate into cardio with walking but most of my workout time yesterday was in the cardio range. I ended up with 155 zone minutes and my Fitbit adjustment for the day was 871. As only 5 people are allowed in the pool, I will have to figure out a good time of day to go. The best part of this is my back didn’t hurt while in the pool. I am going to set a lower step goal next month but will continue to hit my reminders to move.
I have another busy day. I want to get a swim in and maybe use the bike if there is time. I have what I am hoping is my final follow up with the COVID doctor and a lung function test so I will be at the hospital all afternoon. Have to get some housework done too.
Happy Friday

Hi All....I'm joining for the August challenge
About Me: I was thin and active almost all my life but then weight started to creep up on me in my 40's. In 2018, I lost about 30 pounds, was a few pounds from goal weight and was super happy with the way I looked, was eating in a very healthy manner without feeling deprived, and enjoying exercising. But then an injury derailed my workouts & I've never really been consistent with exercise since - good for a few months and then slack off, and that cycle keeps repeating. Definitely a yo-yo-er. When I am not exercising, my healthy eating goes out the window which eventually caused me to gain 50 lbs. from my 2018 weight. I was my highest weight ever earlier this summer but have been back on track for the last month or so. For me, it's all mental...I know how to live an healthy life and I actually enjoy that lifestyle when I am living it, but just have to been in the right headspace to commit. I feel like I am there at the moment and plan to make the best choices I can to stay there! Looking forward to this group!
Other than that...I'm M.J., recently 50, 5.4" tall, married 18 years, mom to a teenager, and live in the Northeast in the U.S. I love to run and bodyweight strength train, and am currently following a low carb/gluten free meal plan.

Good morning everyone. Welcome to friday.
Check in for 7/29:
Steps - 4252
Calories - 1668. Bad lunch so I modified dinner to compensate. Instead of normal lasagna size, I cut it down, added a salad with no dressing, and zero cal lemonade instead of milk.
Exercise - none. Rest day or laziness.
Welcome to the new pack of team members. Good luck on your downward travels.5 -

Thanks hun, I really did! It was a bit short though. We were meant to come back today but ended up coming home early. A friend of Gael's is a nun, and the sisters have a summer house, so Susanne has it for a week and we are always welcome. This year, her grandkids were coming for the weekend and we found out yesterday at lunchtime that their mum was starting their drive up at 4am!!! And because the kids are under 12, they aren't vaccinated, as well as the family not socially distancing (and really haven't the whole pandemic apparently) we decided to leave before they got there- just because of our conditions (especially with Gael's recent diagnosis, and we were not sure if it was melanoma or not)
I'm sad we didn't see the kidlets, because I love seeing them, they're good kids- but better to be safe than sorry, just for now! There's always next year, hopefully!!
My knee is a lot better! I have an MRI in September, unless there's a cancellation. They wanted me in yesterday but since I was away, or at least planning on it, I had to reschedule. But I'm getting there. I might try some walking tonight if it cools down a little.
So much has happened in the last few days lol. I decided today to unsubscribe from noom. It's good in theory but their traffic light system for food is not what fits in with my food plan, and I found that their calories were too low (they wanted me to eat like 1400 calories, and that isn't enough) and also the app was pretty bad- like it wouldn't register my steps... and that was frustrating!
I'll be back to tracking via MFP from today. I haven't eaten yet, but I'll wait for Gael to get up before having a decent brunch (poached eggs with seasoned avocado toast, I love it!) and have dinner already planned (homemade burger and chips)
I'm not mad about the gain but it's not nice to gain over 10lb in so many days. I know it's not fat, and my body does do that sometimes. When I went to canada to visit friends in 2013, I gained 25lb in 3 weeks but then lost 15lb in the next week- mostly water weight of course lol.
I also have an opportunity to maybe transfer stores with my work, to work with my old manager. This is really good news for me- I love working with my old manager, and the store is slower, and a really good team of people- one supervisor I worked with at my previous store, and 2 rehired baristas are there that I know well- one was an old assistant manager from an old store, and the other is a good friend of mine. I'm going to talk to my old boss over the weekend to figure out stuff. Gael is anxious about the extra drive time, so I am going to ask Ian if we can trial it for 2 weeks- to see if everything can work out. He only wants me to work 3 days a week, which is nice
Anyway, long essay, I've missed posting on here! New month starts soon and I'm going to make it my life's mission to keep on top of the chat!!!
Welcome to all the new peeps!! This is a fabulous group, very supportive and chatty!! You're definitely in the right place!!
