Note I am hand writing & entering photographs because all my index finger typing on my phone is causing problems. And my laptop is more trouble to use than not.
I’ll write more neatly next time LOL

I often use the microphone on my iPhone when I’m having difficulty with my fat fingers. It’s much quicker in any case.2 -

@TerriRichardson112 Oh I tried that but it ends up looking like this. OK this time it worked. Lol2 -

I wanted to start yesterday but by the time I got back into town after a hike out of town, I only had the energy to keep up with UAC, Just Say No to Late Night Snacking and another group I belong to.
My July goal is to slow down my eating and chew my food more before swallowing each bite. Not sure how to stack it though?
After I sit down to eat, I will chew each bite a minimum of 10 times
We always have pizza on Friday’s, so I actually ate with my non dominant hand to try to slow myself down.6 -
@clutterqueen that's a terrific idea! I've heard that before (about eating with your non dominant hand!) and tried it once! It was frustrating for me, but it does work! I'm a VERY FAST eater! I think eating fast comes from doing nails for 5 years and now doing massage for 10 years - I usually eat in between clients, so I have to eat quickly! Lol. The problem with eating that fast is that I finish eating and I'm STILL hungry!! I've learned over the years to WAIT 10-15 minutes before deciding if I want to eat more.
My husband told me once that his mother made all 5 of her children chew each bite 25 times! To this day he is by far, the SLOWEST eater I've ever known! Lol! Couple me (fast eater) with him (slow eater) and I can usually finish dinner, clear most of the table, put the leftovers away and clean up the kitchen, load the dishwasher and can go into the living room and sit down and he is STILL EATING!7 -
Wow you are doing so great!
@Mrs_Hoffer that early morning will be a difficult adjustment. One thing I did when I was having to get to work early was to listen to my Bible “reading” in the car during my commute. Love the story of you surprising the family walking on stilts! 👌 I hope my tree poses help me that much!
Also, my huge decluttering of school files is 75% finished and I’m seeing the light at the end of the tunnel on that project!
I’m working on my tracker, so in the meantime:
July 1 🌲💪. I met a couple of my dancing buddies, and I passed along our dancing group files - I was kind of proud of myself for saying I had no space for them, but feeling a little guilty too. We had a delicious Thai lunch, but I could not believe the reaction I had to the sodium - not eating out for 15 months may have ruined me. 🙄🤣
July 2 🌲💪6 -
@TerriRichardson112 I really liked your first post and everything that you shared 🤩. Also good use of the color and the "spoiler" option. Awesome and colorful paper tracker and fun emoji tracker!! I agree with you about the personal responsibility for our health part. I'm still going to wear my mask when I'm in the stores etc because I saw too many people pulling masks down or wearing it below the nose way before any vaccine was on the horizon. I didn't wear it when I finally got to see my adult kids and the grandchild since the adults were fully vaccinated. These are truly unprecedented times. And so much to figure out. I really give kudos to all those who are still out there working. Getting older can be difficult sometimes, but any more those out there working are having challenges we never had back when I was younger and working.
@Mrs_Hoffer Great way to tie together your morning routine/ habits! Especially with the differing days per week at the office when you start going back to the office 👍. I like how your "just one thing" declutter plan is working for you. And that it can also include trashing it as well as putting back in its home and not just decluttering. Well done for finding something that works for you! I always find it interesting how we all accomplish similar things in differing ways!!
Wow!! walking on stilts! A thousand kudos to you!
Sounds like a pretty smart app if it can prioritize tasks according to time available to clean. That is hard enough for this human to do that successfully even after all these years 🤷♀️.
@SummerSkier Well, I'm certainly glad that I had already swallowed my bite of food when I read your closet post, I don't think I could have recovered otherwise from laughing/sputtering as well as @Mrs_Hoffer did 🤦♀️. At any rate very good insight regarding any unused clothes/shoes still in your closet.
That must be a big adjustment going back to the office again. I think you have a good plan concerning your habits and adjusting for the less time at home now.
@77tes Wow! That is a great idea of doing 10 daily push-ups for your July habit 💪!
I also like to listen to the Bible reading to me. I will listen sometime while doing mundane jobs or other things like watering the grass/ garden etc. Good for you progressing so well with decluttering the school files! You are almost finished with that!
@MadisonMolly2017 Look at all of those bright green check marks ✅👏!! I really like your paper tracker!! So creative. It will be very colorful by the end of the month!!
➡With the new updated name to the current declutter thread for 2021, would you consider renaming (again 😉) the old "Ever Onwards with Declutterfest 2021!!" thread back to 2020 since that was mostly when we used it.
(It is just below "This January “I Will...”. NEWCOMERS, begin here!" thread ( from 2021) .
Hugs 💗 to you for your finger hurting. I was wondering why the hand written notes. I only use the desktop for MFP. And had to stand up and lean in and turn my head sideways to read your notes. Very clever of you to post regardless of the circumstances. Very resourceful. Maybe I got some extra stretches in tonight. Me reading your posts ➡ 🤣
Maybe rename it back to 2020 since it was in use from the summer August 2020 (as the first summer declutter thread) and only continued on through early February 2021 when another new thread was started.
Renaming (again 😂) might help the confusion as to which declutter thread we are using from now on in 2021 and serve as a better record of progress back in 2020.
@clutterqueen you are very resourceful to accomplish your habit while eating pizza 🍕! Welcome to the group.

1. PAPER TIGER 🐯: Later on in the morning, most likely after breakfast, I WILL begin working on paper tiger for a minimum of 5 to 15 minutes.
2. STUFF 🧱: After the paper tiger session is finished I WILL then start to clean/tidy in a planned area with an eye out for what I want to declutter. There are several areas/ rooms that it is time to declutter in again or have become a "temporary" storage area 😲. This will be for a minimum of 5 to 15 minutes also.

@77tes - You have just reminded me that after I retired at the end of 2002 I held on to some school stuff which I really don't need. It's just taking up precious space. I must put that on my Declutter list for this month.
@Mrs_Hoffer - 🙋🏼 fellow fast eater here. Childhood habit to stop my elder brother stealing sausages off my plate after he had finished his dinner 😂
@texasgardnr - I use the spoilers as the photos take up so much space on the page.
@MadisonMolly2017 - I'm so behind you with the attitude of so many people. They're like the mad motorist who causes an accident and blythely goes on their way unaware of the carnage they have left in their wake.
👀 Restarted my journal on the first of July.
👃🏻 Have upgraded my 🤓 TINY HABITS 🤓
👅 Added a 😎 🎉 CELEBRATE 🎉 😎tier to my stacks
🚰 Drinking the water wasn't working for me. I did sooooo... many push-ups Thursday and Friday as I was constantly running to the bathroom 😂 (flush/wash--> push-ups) 😂 I think my hydration was just fine the way it was, so I adapted Habit 3 to '10 kickbacks'.
1) Get up ->!walk -> celebrate This gives me a good kickstart to the day
🚶♀️🚶♀️🚶♀️
2) flush/wash -> 5 wall push-ups -> celebrate I have started adding a few extra each time
🚽🚽
3) switch kettle on -> 10 kickbacks -> celebrate Starting this version today
☕️☕️
This is today's page of my journal. I am updating my habit tracker as I go along6 -
I am still laughing at the hand written notes (thank you MADDIE!!!) and doing yoga to read them. Also I was going to say just use voice to text but Siri is always full of surprises. I usually post on my PC because trying to reply on my phone to community posts is hard. I did get a new IPAD a couple months ago which is a bit easier but still I like the computer best.
Still waiting on a kitten report from @PKM0515 and an excited to hear from @nebslp to see if there are future plans to go to Paris.
What an wonderful AND frightening time with the pandemic starting to dwindle down, I am both excited AND a little frightened about the mask wearing changing at work. I am probably going to wear it in certain situations and not while at my desk alone. There is one woman who was SICK and out for 2 days and she came back on Thursday and still looked sick. She kept pulling her MASK down to talk to me and I was trying to stand as far away as possible and kept telling her to pull her mask up. In addition to COVID who wants to get sick with anything else now currently running thru the communities?
Tracker:
Jul1 BP check Declutter pass
Jul2 BP check Declutter check (and how sad I am to dispose of those shoes which are SO pretty and hurt so good.)
I did not sleep well on Thursday night and it was interesting to see how my BP was way UP from lack of sleep which led to a headache and lack of run as well. It's an interesting chain of events.... Today I feel much better and slept well (no meds either!) and will get a good run in so back to my normal. I tend to want to binge when I don't get my workouts in because my mind tells me I don't get to eat as much so if I eat to TDEE even though it is a slight surplus on rest days it keeps me from completely breaking down.

Adding: After I eat my breakfast, I will take meat/poultry/fish out of freezer to defrost for our dinner … unless we have enough cooked from prior day.
Reason: Hubby will do quick (relatively unhealthy (highly processed + high sodium) and I will eat bread/cheese/apple & lean protein trumps cheese.6 -
There's a LoT going on here! I can't respond to most posts but wish I had time to do so. There are so many good ideas that I will have to take a peek at them again (and take notes) when I get a chance. Thanks to those who "checked" on me when I went missing
I am getting ready to visit my daughter who moved to Corpus Christi, TX, recently. Leaving Monday EARLY (the frown is for the early part, not the visit!) Wish I had time to stop and visit all of my TX pals, but we're going to try to make the 1100+miles in two days. Maybe going 750 the first day Yawn! We'll leave Monday and be gone until we get back No definite date yet. We'll see how long our daughter will put up with us.
I know any time things are out of routine for me, I forget my goals. So...
This July I WILL remain accountable by using Habit Bull every night before going to bed. I usually update throughout the day and do a final check at night. This is SOLID so I can't count that as a habit I need to work on. So...
This July after after pouring my first cup of coffee, I WILL take my pills. This is something that almost always falls by the wayside when I travel. So I'm going to be vigilant and work toward 90% on this goal. It was 80% last month so it's sorta solid.
I'm also going to work on using my FitBit mindfulness section every day. Even 5 minutes makes a difference. This morning in 5 minutes my heart rate had gone from 68-62. I don't expect to do this every day at a specific time, and I already missed the first 2 days in July, so I'll work it in when I can and be happy with a 50% on meditation. Last month it was 40%.
I'm excited to see what July will bring for lots of reasons. Can't wait to hear from everyone as the month rolls on.7 -
@SummerSkier , I love the Desert willow - there are a couple in my neighborhood, and l’ve been wondering what they are.
@MadisonMolly2017 I like the handwritten notes - gotta take care of your hands. Tree pose is when you stand on one foot with hands raised above your head.
https://youtu.be/wdln9qWYloU
@nebslp , I hope you have a wonderful trip and can keep those wonderful habits going.
@DebyS137 , welcome to the group - you are working on a bunch of the habits I’ve been working on. I love my gratitude habit!
@TerriRichardson112 love the “I have the power!” Lots of memories tied up with that line!
@texasgardnr - it’s great to hear that you are wrestling that paper tiger and winning! 😀
@clutterqueen I need to slow down my eating and my husband is also a slow eater. 🤣 I blame my kids because I had to goggle when I could while feeding babies and the habit stuck.4 -

@77tes - "Love the “I have the power!” Lots of memories tied up with that line!" It's my POWER phrase lol (Tony Robbins - Awaken the Giant Within) You've got to do the He-Man stance and draw the sword.
🇺🇸 Happy 4th July 🇺🇸 to my American friends.
Northern Ireland 'celebrates' 12th July (next weekend)
1690 - Prince William of Orange defeated King James 1 (Stuart king) at the Battle of the Boyne
👀 Weird science this morning. Habits 1) and 2) have looped themselves together.
👃🏻 Have upgraded my 🤓 TINY HABITS 🤓 again
👅 3) Changed from Kettle to coffee creamer machine. Hubby often makes the coffee.
1) Get up -> walk -> celebrate This gives me a good kickstart to the day (see photo above)
