Hi Everyone! I am smiling ear to ear reading your posts! Great goals for July, and I love the beautiful trackers! And I’m so happy to see so many new members join us! Yay!
Last weekend my daughter and future SIL were home for an extended family 90th birthday party and celebration of life for my FIL, who passed away 2 years ago. It was a great long weekend, but not much opportunity to chime in here. The nursing home where my parents live has lifted their COVID restrictions and we can now take them out whenever we want and wherever they’d like to go. Except that we have no wheelchair accessible options for Dad yet, and that’s been added to my short term to do list, along with securing a CNA. I know how fortunate I am to have my wonderful parents still with me, but the list of things I need to help them with is long and it gnaws at me everyday.
Like @SummerSkier and @Mrs_Hoffer I’m returning to work..this week. Fortunately, I’m able to still work a few days at home which is my preference. My husband and I took my mini elliptical to my office last night so it’s already in position and ready to go when I arrive Wednesday morning. @texasgardnr, did you get a mini elliptical? If so, it it helping you?
My July focus will be a simple balance exercise. Haven’t figured out the cue (“After I…) yet.5 -
Figured out the cue!
After I finish my treadmill walk, I’ll pull out my balance discs, select a song from my playlist, and try to dance while staying on the discs.

July 3 perfect!
Back in the saddle! My gentle tightening up of food, exercise in late June and thinking about what I needed to improve 1st, 2nd, 3rd going forwards into July is working.
GRADUALLY I have:
Boosted my steps over 10K 🎉
Got all food out of sight (no bread on the counter, etc) to reduce food cues 🎉
Cut out raw almonds 🎉- FINALLY identifying what had caused my issues the past 4 months. ❤️❤️ Sometimes we have to be our own detectives. Along with I successfully reduced Fiber to recommendations if medical team.🎉
Set up a tracker for July to reinforce my intentions & lose the 1 kg back to my Goal Zone (which is what I decided to call my maintenance range!) 🎉
Figured out clever lol swaps or reductions …for my unhealthier or calorie laden items.
Swapped two 2% lattes to nonfat - saved 120 calories
Ate 1.5 chocolate croissant instead of 2.0, then 2 1/2’s and then one 1/2. For a savings of 510 calories.🎉
Added a 2nd serving fruit vegetable “Freggies”in & felt fine so added a third & ditto YAY🎉 it WAS the dastardly almonds.
Added Eat 15 oz Freggies to tracker.🎉
Baby steps work.

@themedalist - those balance discs look really awesome and dancing to a favorite tune is a great idea. You find such effective fitness gadgets. Your mini-elliptical is another such!5

👅 3) Changed from Kettle to milk creamer. Hubby often makes the coffee, but I always put in my own milk.

@MadisonMolly2017 I am so impressed with how you are roping in your issues and getting back to positive and strong again. The tracker and seeing you so engaged brings a smile to my face!
@themedalist it sounds like you are ready for back in the office time. I would be REALLY happy with 3 days a week but full time it is. Well except when I have "ahem" appointments and choose to work remotely.
I am still plugging away with my 2 habits for the month. So far 1005 on the BP check but not quite that much on the shoes altho that is a very easy one I keep forgetting to grab and old pair and put them in the donation sack in the garage. oooppps.

@themedalist your balance discs look pretty cool. I got a mini trampoline last Nov and need to get back to using it. It has really helped me with my balance. I used it almost everyday in the winter.
@TerriRichardson112 you are doing AMAZING at your new habits! Kudos!!
@MadisonMolly2017 your tracker page is starting to get pretty!! I can't wait to see it become more and more colorful as the month unfolds! And congrats on getting yourself back on track. I know you were beginning to "struggle" near the end of June.

My habits didn't go very well while we were at my MIL's home. I don't do very well when my routine gets jacked up. Ugh. For starters, my sweet MIL doesn't have a coffee maker! Lol. I also didn't have my normal breakfast. But I decided right away that I wasn't going to stress out about it. We came home late this afternoon so I'm ready to start fresh tomorrow!
😃😃😃😃😃 After I ... get up and while I'm drinking my morning cup of coffee..... I will spend 10 mins on my bible reading and morning devotional. While at my MIL's home, my routine was a little out of whack, but I did still get in my bible reading time sometime during the day. I'm gonna call it a win!
😃😃😃❌😃 After I ... have breakfast, I will .... do 5-10 mins of yoga/stretching and then immediately upon finishing I will walk 500 steps down the driveway to the mailbox and back. On Sat I was able to get 10 mins of yoga in, but on the 4th I did not. Today (5th) I did get it in after I got home from our trip.7 -

My big win is I am actually bringing down my daily calories!! Today was the best yet!
Also my trend weight is slowly coming down…
I am very pleased to have caught this quickly. I have my limit 157.3 lbs & I have my absolutely don’t have a monthly average weight over 160.
Reason: even though 160 is a healthy weight for me, one time I let it go up there & it seemed to take forever to whittle it back down. I promised myself I’d catch it sooner next time!! 💪🏻

6 July Day 2 of 5 day course on tinyhabits.com yesterday. My coach says tomorrow is often the crunch day, However, I have been implementing my 3 habits since 1st July, so not anticipating any problems.

Tracker is coming along nicely. I like to create art everyday so the tracker is gradually getting covered in tiny sketches. I'm also experimenting with digital art on my iPad.
Yesterday I got ahead of myself with the emojis 😂 I plan to do them in weeks. It will be another way of marking milestone

@Mrs_Hoffer - These holidays are something we all have to deal with. We are having an 18th Birthday celebration for DYGS next Sunday. DGD has flew home yesterday for a week, so there will be other celebrations. Fortunately family no longer tempt me to overindulge, so I can keep it to a minimum.

@77tes I was always a fast eater but I think my fast eating got turbo charged when my kids were very young. I was always having to hop up for one thing or another and just learned to wolf my food down before I got up from the table.
I’ve failed miserably trying to eat more slowly all day long. I think I need to back up and take baby steps. For now I’m going to just focus on eating more slowly any treats I enjoy each day. Once I’ve gotten control of that, I can add snacks and then gradually add meals when that’s consistent.
I love seeing everyone’s trackers, so beautiful! I’m not artistic at all but certainly enjoy the efforts of others!4 -

Sounds like a great plan @clutterqueen! I’d begin with whatever is easiest & then go from there!
One thing that helped me was realizing I’d I did t pay attention to a food when eating it, my mind didn’t register has having eaten it!
Left handed eating works well too!!

It’s going well. Averages are looking great. Tomorrow marks one month of my arm exercises. It’s definitely a habit now!
It will be nice when scale shifts downward, but I know always takes a bit of time (at least for me!)
