Hi all..... Waving at @nebslp who is 4 hrs SE of me in Tx now. LOL.
So I am doing well with taking the BP daily (altho for some reason it has been high this month) but I am struggling with the shoes. I mean how do I part with this pair? I can't walk and pretty much can't even stand in them but wow I love the way they look. hahahahahahha

@SummerSkier
Yes, they are gorgeous both on & off your feet. I ended up giving away/donating all of mine except ONE. Ummm MFP is PG I know so let’s just say, sometimes one doesn’t have to *walk* in sexy high heels. 🤗🤭👠
Having said that, I’ve still never used them! 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣 But sometimes we keep something just because we love it so much.
🌸Maddie
Edit: I just realized- my high heels are a black velvet or equivalent with maroon embroidery on top of toe. I suppose if worse comes to worse I can possibly slice it off & re-use it in a crazy quilt or other project 🤣🤣4 -
@TerriRichardson112 I love you tracker - I see we have another artist in the group.
@SummerSkier getting rid of pretty shoes is hard - much harder than old letters about how Eddie didn’t do his homework (and Eddie is currently in his 40s). 🤣 I’ve got those sparkly pumps that go with my 60s cocktail dress - they really are torture devices! But you can’t wear sneakers with a 60s cocktail dress.
@DebyS137 I love the quote about man/butterfly! Doing lots of cooking can help keep you from snacking - you’ll be too busy. 🤣5 -
Hi all, tonight I'm just gonna post. So far this month whenever I finally get on the computer to respond and post I start reading and want to reply but it is already very late. So tonight I decided I will just post my progress after skimming your amazing posts. This month is starting out very colorful, both in the trackers being shared and the posts themselves! So much creativity and fun, and a few definitely LOL posts that are beyond funny 🤦♀️!
1. PAPER TIGER 🐯: In the morning, most likely after breakfast, I WILL begin working on paper tiger for a minimum of 5 to 15 minutes.
2. STUFF 🧱: Later on I WILL tidy an area while looking for something to declutter, for 5 to 15 minutes.
3. Digital 💾: Occasionally I will do some digital deluttering, also for 5 to 15 minutes, or when I reach an impromptu goal such as so many emails/ texts etc.
July 1 🐯 🧱 misc paper, several books & stuff from m. bedroom
July 2 🐯 🧱 misc paper, gave my juicer to neighbor, June's donations are donated
July 3 🐯 🧱 💾 random paper, 2 items from porch, 7 items put away, 164 emails
July 4 🐯 🧱 last weeks left over mail, 4 misc items donated
July 5 🐯 🧱 💾 misc papers, 2 items trashed, 63 emails
July 6 🐯 🧱 misc paper, 4 items from my closet

Wow! This group is cooking with gas!
One week down in July! This month I decided to feature shades of violet/purple since it is my daughter’s favorite color (or obsession) and July is her birthday month.
I did some biking on Tuesday and it felt like my balance was better. I’ll credit my tree poses. I haven’t fund a good time to do my 10 push-ups. Now would be a good time. 🤣 Still, I do get them in even if I leave them until my evening yoga time. They just down seem yoga appropriate.
@MadisonMolly2017 your tweaks to your diet are brilliant- I need to make a few similar changes as I’m still struggling to get back to my goal weight.
@texasgardnr - you are my decluttering hero! 🦸♀️ I‘ll go do my push-ups and then tackle the school files.

Sorry for being absent. I was on holiday in Italy for 8 days and just didn't have any routine at all 😁 Starting now!
This July, I will continue working on building my new morning routine habits:
• After I brush my teeth & weigh myself, I'll take my meds & vits and drink water.
• After I drink my morning water, I'll charge my Fitbit, get washed and ready for the day ahead.
• After I get ready, I'll make breakfast.
• After breakfast, I'll leave for work, walk for 10 mins (to the underground) and think happy thoughts. If I'm working from home or it's the weekend, I'll step or cycle for 10 mins.
• Anytime: After/While I do ..., I'll do ...!
...Lie on Shakti mat for 10 mins.
...Take a mindful rest.
...Duolingo language learning.
...Puzzle app.
...Delete/unsubscribe emails.
...Note down tasks & priorities.
...Do daily exercises.
...Clean or tidy something.

@DebyS137 I'm looking forward to seeing your sunflower when it has fully bloomed 🌻 On our train ride from Florence to Pisa, we saw some sunflower fields and they were all facing the same way, except for one, which was facing the train 👋🌞4

@BodyTalking oh my! Your Italian holiday sounds wonderful. Now there’s what you have habits for, so that you can enjoy wonderful times like that. Italy is on my bucket list.
@DebyS137 your sunflower is terrific. I’ve always wanted to try growing them.3 -

I actually remember Oprah saying that once (when someone asked her about her "heels") that they were her "sitting" shoes!! 😂1 -
My grandchildren and stepson are here from Arkansas visiting for a week! Whew! It's been awhile since I've had a house full of littles! I forgot how much energy they have! Y'all are doing an amazing job with your habits! I'm impressed! I'm trying to post (check-in) here at least twice per week.
__________😃😃😃
😃😃❌😃😃😃❌ After I ... get up and while I'm drinking my morning cup of coffee..... I will spend 10 mins on my bible reading and morning devotional. I'm not doing too bad with this one. Although today has been out of whack! (Weekend routine is a little different and I'm easily thrown off!)
__________😃😃😃
❌😃😃❌😃😃❌ After I ... have breakfast, I will .... do 5-10 mins of yoga/stretching and then immediately upon finishing I will walk 500 steps down the driveway to the mailbox and back. For this one, I've pulled a muscle in my low back and am having difficulty stretching. I'm doing as much as my back can tolerate, and doing it 2-3 times throughout the day instead of all at once. I have either walked to the mailbox or taken my morning walk everyday this week. Luckily, the pulled muscle doesn't seem to be affecting my ability to walk. Although sometimes if I turn or twist just right, I'll feel a sharp pain. Getting old sure ain't for sissies! Ugh!5 -
@Mrs_Hoffer I’m so happy for you that you can enjoy your family, but sorry you pulled a muscle in your back. Sometimes when I’m feeling beat up, I do a chair yoga routine.3

🍷🍫 My reward for Saturday was 1 glass of wine and half a bar of dark chocolate. (I'm saying that was my reward because that's what I had last night 🤭)

MadisonMolly2017 wrote: »Thanks all! Yes, I love the trackers, as not wanting to wreck the designs helps keep me on track!!
My big win is I am actually bringing down my daily calories!! Today was the best yet!
Also my trend weight is slowly coming down…
I am very pleased to have caught this quickly. I have my limit 157.3 lbs & I have my absolutely don’t have a monthly average weight over 160.
Reason: even though 160 is a healthy weight for me, one time I let it go up there & it seemed to take forever to whittle it back down. I promised myself I’d catch it sooner next
I couldn’t agree more, @MadisonMolly2017! Just as small steps done repeatedly will get us to our goal, small steps backward can become a new norm and unravel our progress. It’s so much easier to address a 5 pound weight gain than it is to address a 15 or 35 pound weight gain. When I was 50 pounds heavier in 2011, I had dessert almost every night while watching TV. I stopped that terrible habit and now when I have dessert occasionally, it’s at a restaurant or as part of a special meal at home. It’s never in front of the TV. Unfortunately, our bad habits are always lurking in the shadows, waiting for a come back. I don’t give my desert & TV watching former habit any fertile ground to regrow.
Also as Maddie mentioned, the steps, processes, and tenets we advocate in this group are backed by the research of habits scientists over many decades. Small steps can seem rather silly… wouldn’t larger steps get you to your goal faster? Perhaps, but It’s hard to consistently take large actions, especially in the beginning. It’s exhausting and we usually give up. No habits get built and then nothing changes.
My whole life I wanted to play the guitar. Dreamed about it, thought about it, imagined what it would be like. Even got into phases of practicing an hour or two here and there. But it never stuck. As I learned more about habits and learned that the brain always wants to take any repetitive sequence of steps and turn it into a habit, I realized that playing guitar chords is simply a bunch of habits strung together. So, in 2015, I took a different approach. I committed to practicing the guitar for 15 minutes a day, everyday for a full year. I didn’t let anything stop me from getting in those 15 minutes…. It was only 15 minutes! And it didn’t take too long before I learned a few chords. My 15 minutes a day of guitar practice became 91 hours that I played that year.
Five years later I’m still playing. Still loving it and it’s truly my proudest accomplishment (aside from my daughter!). Now even trying my hand at writing and recording a few songs.
I know I’ve shared that story before so apologies to those who have heard it. But I also know we have quite a few new members and it’s my most personal experience with the power of small daily actions. Things that are easy to do get repeated and become habits.
Small steps are the foundation for the habits we need to accomplish our goals and dreams!

@themedalist you story of how you conquered learning to play the guitar is so inspiring. I’ve used you as an example to my students. I also agree about catching those 5 pound gains before they get out of hand.4

just a quick drive by but I wanted to update everyone on the missing black sock!!!
Much like Maddie's iron which eventually showed up when she replaced it.
I decided finally now that its July it would be safe to wash my barn down jacket (which has been in my car for a few years.... oh my). Anyway, in clearing out the car a little BOOM there was the missing black sock! It must have fallen out of my running shoes one time I had them in there...

I will be posting every few days or so for July, but working on my habit refinement daily.
12 July - I finished the Tiny Habits course on Friday and it has helped me refined my process for reformation of old habits/creation of new habits.
It's been a busy week as we had DGD home from Oxford, and couple of family outings/birthday party for DYGS's 18th birthday. Granddaughter is flying back tomorrow to finish her doctorate. Won't see her until Christmas as she will be working flat out.
👀 Start small

@BodyTalking - 💖Italian holiday. Solid 'I will.... ' for July. 🤦🏼♀️ What are we like? 😂My reward for doing so well this month so far was to take yesterday as a pass day on food as it was a big celebration. I had been 'banking' calories all week in anticipation, so not too much damage done. Only slightly over calories as far as I can remember 😂 PS: all our family have been double jabbed and we all tested negative before the party.
@Mrs_Hoffer - 💖 the family time, but so exhausting even though our grands are all adults. 😂 Hope your pulled muscle is very temporary.
@themedalist - very impressive. I taught myself to play the keyboard the same way. Still have a wee jam every so often.
@MadisonMolly2017 - Bravo on the dropping trend weight. I was around 160 for ages before I decided drop a bit more to my present maintenance range of 142 - 148. It gives me wiggle room for days like yesterday.
@SummerSkier - 😍 The sock story.
TTFN 🖖🏻Live long and prosper 🚀
