Went for a 36 minute walk first thing this morning. I have logged everything I've eaten so far today. I am getting super hungry right now. Hmmmm. My joy was building a fort with my granddaughter. I was also working on some Mom Mom Preschool activities for next week and it felt really good. I also had a visit with one of my former students who is about to head off to her first year of college at my alma mater in New Jersey. So great to see her.

Need to go make a plan for dinner. I'll check in later.

    Tuesday Weigh-In

ugh, that hurts. Considering the week I had, guess I should be happy with only a small gain. And we'll go for 3 weeks in the green in September I suppose! (4 in October?? :) )
Luckily, September is a 5-week month, so you can still get 4 weeks in the green!!
I told my husband I'd joined this group and he gave me a high five. He's really supportive and I'm grateful to have him in my life! But he's never ever struggled with his weight so sometimes he doesn't get how frustrating it can be. Does anyone else deal with things like this?
OHHH Yes! My husband is 14 inches taller than I am. Now that we are older, the intake difference is a bit less extreme than it used to be, but he could always keep a great weight range on at least 3X more food than me! It is hard for them to understand, but we just have to go with it. sigh....
@jugar yayy!!! I am all set. My name is aishwarya and yes I am the same person I am from India.
That is great - Sam ( @happimess01 ) is also from India originally but now lives in Germany. I have been to India 14 times, and hope to get back there many more times some day after the pandemic is under control! I was lucky to go there for work and to have made many wonderful friends. Where in India are you?

    @micki48
Hope you kept strong during the hunger! It sounds like a beautiful day, with walking and fort building. I hope you had a dragon in your fort. They are very useful.

I stacked a lot of firewood today - hands, wrists, and back are sore!

I think I would like to change my weigh in day to Friday. Saturday often seems to get lost especially at the end of the month. So, yeah, Friday it is! We'll see how that goes.

    No problem! Friday it is.

@jugar I had a snack of smoked almonds and later celery and a bit of hummus. It was a good day. Over 8k steps.

No dragons in the fort today. Lots of “stuffies”. Maybe tomorrow.

Thanks for moving me to Friday.

@kellie_erin I have a husband like that too! He is also super supportive but he gets hungry. He also has never had weight issues and it does make it hard to understand why it's so hard for others. It's just something you have to make peace with. They need more calories, we don't. At least enjoy having a good looking spouse! Hehe

Today was BAD!!!!! Major fail for sure. It's the kids last day of summer and my husband didn't have to go into work until late. I had a nice day planned for the kids and a special breakfast for the whole family. Then 15 minutes before my husband needed to leave we realized we had a major misunderstanding with HR for getting insurance signed up for. I had to have him dropped from my insurance today specifically. I spent 3 hours on phone calls and trying to get an uncooperative online system to work. Then some more fun scheduling stuff. Not the day I had planned and food was all over the place 😩

Putting today in the history book and moving on!

@ashleycarole86 and @Kali225 I hope you girls find your new back to work wardrobes. I have been doing a bit of ordering lately and the boxes are starting to trickle in! It's still warmish here so I can't totally switch to fall yet. Pretty soon I will empty the summer stuff and move the fall stash in. I started putting together capsule wardrobes last winter. Fall is my last season to collect some items for.

    Evening all!

So the work wardrobe will be put on hold a little while longer yet it seems as it was announced today that our mandatory return to office is being pushed back yet again. Brad and I have a three week holiday planned starting on September 22 to drive to Eastern Canada and back so I suspect I won't be back in office until I'm back at the earliest.

Hope the kids have a good first day at school tomorrow @conleywoods (and whoever else has kids in the same boat!)

    Stress is killing me…

Noooo -- I hope you can find some good quiet moments. Remember that a week with no weight gain is not terrible at all! Hang in there, and you'll have a good time to get back on track soon. Pick out a day to have the "one perfect day" - plan and log in advance, and go for it. You will feel less stressed and very proud of yourself

15 minutes of Pilates first thing. Food has been good and logged. Not sure my steps are great, but I have made kazoos with my granddaughter. 😂

@DD265 You look fabulous and your dress is gorgeous.

    Hi all -

It was a crazy day here. We were expecting an excavation crew to come and work on our pond some time around the middle of the month, and they arrived today! They did call yesterday, but we had quite a scramble getting everything ready :grimace: They only got started this afternoon, but tomorrow the dump truck arrives to move the stuff they remove to all the other places we have gotten (kind of) ready for it to be taken as fill. It is good clay and gravel, but there is a lot of it! Mud baths anyone?
    cn86i2mw6td2.jpg

Needless to say I got a lot of exercise today moving brush, carting things around, and then the usual garden stuff. Meanwhile, the pond frogs are hanging around in the vegetable garden - usually sheltering under the huge zucchini leaves. They'll have their home back soon...

I agree that the dress for the wedding looks amazing @dd265 ! It's always fun to have an occasion to get dressed up. I haven't had one of those for ages!

I'm pretty bushed, and will do some extra stretching while watching something before heading for zzzz-land.

    Weigh-in update:

@DD265 LOVE the dress. You look amazing and a great color on you!

@EvMakesChanges Good to hear from you! Hopefully you will be back to yourself soon.

@jugar That looks like quite the operation! I hate the shock of an abrupt schedule change but glad you made it work.

Today was good for calories and I got my exercise helping my friend move into her new office. Really nice to see her. The kids all made it to school and had great days! My oldest even survived her first day of middle school. Tomorrow I get to pack the kids up and send them ALL off to school while I stay home. I haven't been home alone for 18 months! That is a weird thought 🤔 I am planning to chill out and invite my mother in law over for coffee in the hot tub and soaking in the sunrise. Then a little shopping for a few things I keep forgetting to get.

Nice to have you back @EvMakesChanges ... enjoy your reunion with your spouse tomorrow :) Sounds like you have a good plan of attack to re-adjust

Thanks @Kali225 ... January eh?? Wow... maybe my assumption we'll be back in October is way off. How do you feel about continuing to work from home?

Your day plans sound divine @conleywoods ... enjoy!

Simple night around here.. quick pasta dinner and then I went to visit my Mom while Brad ran some errands. By 9:30 I was still short steps so I went for a quick walk in the cool night air... not a bad way to unwind.

See you in the morning for weigh-in!

@KellyBgetsfit I do miss the routine of being in the office. I think overall there are positive benefits in my life to that structure. However, the benefits of staying home are there too, and when given a choice I default there. So, I'm kinda good with either. I do think living my healthy lifestyle is easier when I'm at home for a variety of reasons, so while I'm confident I'll be able to maintain that when I return to office, I will enjoy the things that are easier until I do.

Hi everyone! Got a nice walk in on this beautiful, gorgeous, not hot day!!! Yay! Also played with a parachute in the yard with my Juliet, then we watched the clouds...until the mosquitos drove us (me) nuts.

Had a check in Drs. appt. this morning. I did stop and get bagels for my family. I was starving because I thought it was fasting for blood work and she was WAY behind. My appointment was at 8:45 and I got out of there at 11:30! So hunger won. I ate the bagel. I think my lunch is not agreeing with me. I was eating leftovers. Maybe I waited too long. Just 3 days. IDK

Doing some household stuff, but I may do something in my yard. I am about 600 steps from my 8K goal for the day. Now off to log my food.

@ashleycarole86 @bowens1973 Excellent losses! You two are amazing and inspiring.
@KellyBgetsfit I'm glad you were pleasantly surprised with your loss. Great going.
@conleywoods Hope your day to yourself is going great!

    Talk to you later!

This team is having a fabulous day!

I have been offline all day - we shut off the power when the excavator is working in the pond because our main supply is underground near the bottom of the pond. We don't want to electrocute the big shovel operator if he hits it (even if we'd want to kill him if he did!), so we just keep it all off all day when they are here. I like it in some ways - can't do the dishes (dang!) or blanch vegetables (kind of nice, but not really?), or use the internet (also kind of nice). So I'm back and the news is beautiful in here.
@conleywoods gets a day at home alone. Wow. And an oldest child hitting middle school - great milestone!
@KellyBgetsfit lost unexpectedly! That means the habits have changed
@eggfreak @ashleycarole86 and @bowens1973 - great losses. SO much beautiful green happening.
@DD265 - Yep. Hoodie, shoes and socks. I used to be the hottest person on the planet, but losing weight changed that! It does get better once you adapt, but yeah. Fat is a good insulator...

I'm fighting some major cravings and losing today. My son (adult) actually called for help after being sick all last night and needing some mom attention. That put me in "eating to feel better" mode that was supposed to be for him, but expanded, as it will. I'm feeling better too - but not for the right reason! He will be fine, but was really shaky and cold after a bad night. I think he'll be fine, but I hope he will take one more day off work to get back to feeling strong and not just OK. He is kind of the opposite of most of us - it is really hard for him to keep to a minimum weight to function well in his strength-demanding work. Missing (or losing!) a meal is a big problem for him. He even has to cut his recreational exercise so that he does not lose more weight. In some ways it is as difficult a problem as gaining easily.

So I might try some sugar cutting tips. I'm not up for the full month of no sugar, but finding good ways to cut the cravings is what I need right now. Probably more healthy fats, more fibre, more pickles (!) - just have to convince myself to get to it! Who's with me for the next few days? Can we manage zero added sugar just for a short while?
