Hello!
Today was a very nice day 😌 Started with the morning soak in the hot tub with coffee. Then ran a few less fun errands with my mother in law. We did get to see a couple of guys very unsuccessful try a scam some blank vaccination cards from the pharmacist. That was funny 😄 Then we went to the big shoe store and found some new fall kicks. Came home and got some house work done. Some of my new clothes came so I have a few new items in the closet and a few returns as well. I did a ballet workout for 30 minutes and stayed in calories...finally.
I think I will have a loss for tomorrow and that feels good. Today was just what I needed. I was feeling frustrated about doing so poorly last month but a lot of major events happened that month. I think I counted 7 stressful events and each one of those lasted for several days. I really wanted to throw in the towel and take the month off. I don't think that's a good idea but it sounded way more comfortable than trudging through. I'm just going to keep moving forward.
I think I will try morning workouts once work gets going again. I had to abandon that plan last year because my husband was staying up later since he wasn't working. We are night owls. Now that he's working we will most likely go to bed earlier. I will aim for 2/4 days during the work week and add the other 3 days on the weekend.1 -
Thanks @micki48 ... things are feeling good here in our house. Brad went out today and bought a few new shirts and pairs of pants. His shirts were a large... for a long time he was in mostly XXL or some XL, so this was a fun milestone for him.
There's been lots of fun clothes ordering in the group lately! I've never really done the order online to the house thing but I hate shopping so that might be a great solution.
Hope your son feels better @jugar
I actually always think of you now when I see pickles. They are a great little snack!
I don't know why I've never thought to take my morning coffee into the hot tub @conleywoods but that just sounds like such a peaceful lovely way to start a day!
I am learning to sew with a friend (well, she is the teacher.. I am the lucky student, so I spent the night doing that. I knew it would be a sedentary night ahead of time, so I got the bulk of my steps in earlier in the day.2 -

It would be awesome if every week was like that but I think it's because I actually tracked food this week and didn't eat any fast food, so it's probably mostly water! I'll see how next week goes 😅5 -

I had a loss! My weight is fluctuating a lot during the week with all the craziness lately. I had a gain at the beginning of the week. I really re-lost nearly 2.5 lbs. I gotta stop doing that. Hopefully the weekend is relaxing and then work starts on tues.5 -
Happy Friday all!
My weigh in today showed 224.8lbs 🙂
I'm happy with it 🙂
I almost forgot to weigh in, too 🙈🤭
Have a lovely weekend everyone! 🎉🥳5 -
@ashleycarole86
I was a little surprised at the January date for return-to-office, but I do really like the flexibility of working from home. I can get my yoga or a workout in whenever I have down time, and saving on the commute (time and money) is nice. But I can't really remember if my eating patterns were better when I went to the office? Since the pantry wasn't 6 feet away all the time? Maybe. But I was also probably more tempted to order takeout for lunch than I am at home.
@happimess01 @conleywoods and @kellie_erin
all awesome losses, congrats!
Alright, time for a quick confessional - the last 2 days have not been good eating for me, AT ALL. I was really on a streak of 11 or so days without what I would consider a "binge." Welp, that's gone. I felt terrible waking up this morning. Stayed in bed for a while, too, just working from my laptop.
But movement is medicine. I had a measured lunch and headed out for my usual walk, and the mood struck me to run - so I jogged the first mile. We are able to log off early for work today to get a jump on the Labor Day weekend in the US, so I am about to log and do a quick yoga session. I am also supposed to do day 34 of the Epic Program. I think I'll tell myself to do it at 4:30pm as if it were a scheduled class.
Calories have thus far been much improved today and I have dinner all prepped. I am a bit nervous about weigh-in come Tuesday since the damage was probably significant, scale-wise.2 -
I did manage to do 16 minutes of Pilates and 7 minutes of strength exercises. Cleaned my kitchen and made pumpkin bread. I need to go walk. It’s gorgeous but I’ve been waiting for the bread to come out.
@Kali225 You've got this. Whatever happens Tuesday, youve still got it.
@conleywoods Congratulations!! A loss is a loss.2 -
Great job on the losses today Friday folks!
@Kali225 Thanks for sharing and I think your strategy to turn things around today is sound. Avoiding binging is a big feat and not derailing when you have one is an even bigger one. You got this!
We are just packing up and then we are off to the trailer for the weekend! Happy Labor Day weekend!2 -
In other important news, time to take a moment for another fantastic new profile pic for @happimess01 ... you are so inspiring!3

Look at you! Seriously impressive - the progress you have made is amazing. If you lose 21 more pounds, you will have halved your weight from the start. That may be beyond your goal weight, but I know that sticking wherever you land will be a challenge too, but if anyone can do it, you can!3 -

Tracking and sticking to plan will work more weeks than it won't - that's for sure!Alright, time for a quick confessional - the last 2 days have not been good eating for me, AT ALL. Good Saturday morning everyone! I forgot to send my intro this month. My name is Stephanie. I am an American living in Luxembourg with my hubs and 2 preteen kids. Love to travel, dance, hike, run and walk with friends. I'm still working to lose 20 pounds by December.

This month I am working to walk and sleep more to keep cortisol level lower and see how that affects my weight. I workout a lot and eat mostly within my calories but haven't seen a lot of progress. So, I am trying a little something different with little running this month and continuing with intermittent fasting. This first week I have committed to walking every morning and just see where that goes. So far my average steps for the week has increased - even without running!!4 -

@jugar sounds like a plan! my mom and I planned a virtual "walk" together this morning so I just got back from 70 minutes moving and on the phone with her. I had a quick cereal breakfast before hand and feeling so much better today. I love the idea of eating a pickle to start a meal... might need to pick some of those up this week. About to do a yoga session after I finish a journal entry.
Lunch and dinner are pre-logged. I was supposed to spend the afternoon at breweries with some friends but one of them woke up sick, so we are postponing. I am relieved actually because it just isn't good timing to be drinking extra calories, duh. But it left me without a dinner plan so I am going to order 3 of my favorite tapas from a restaurant down the street - mesclun salad with goat cheese fritter, ham and cheese croquettes, and baked brie with apple chutney. Not low in calories, but not crazy and it will help me ease off the binging by feeling like a treat.
I live quite close to Boston College and today must be their first home football game - tons of undergrads out and about in colors before 10am. I miss those days! But it makes me SO excited for fall; football, sweaters, leaves, I know it's so basic but bring it on!6 -

Happy Saturday, Friends!
Well, the countdown has truly started! And after 5 months of serious training, I am nursing my very first pair of blisters. I'm gutted!
So I haven't walked outside for the past couple of days, and I've been padding around the house barefoot, while the blisters heal naturally.
Tomorrow I will venture out for an hour in my walking boots and see how they are. I have bought some blister plasters as well as some good anti-blister socks so I should be all set.
This is my final week before the event - I'm doing this! Wish me luck!6 -
@kali225 I had a lot of those binge days too. What has helped me is having a planned cheat day every 10 days. I still feel guilty the next day but at least I know it was part of my plan so I am over it by the next morning. This has really helped me maintain adherence to my diet so far.
@ashleycarole86 🙈😅 stahhp! I am trying to not take so many selfies but I cant help myself. Weightloss has opened the floodgates to my inner narcissist lol. And look who's talking, loving the new pic. Red goes so well with your skin tone and hair, great choice!
@jugar thank you, that's true. I am 11 lbs away from 180.5 lbs which would be half of my starting weight - 361 lbs. My new goal weight is 172 lbs at which point I should be athletic lean. As soon as I reach that, I would start bulking to gain muscle and then cut and then repeat, maybe. I am not gonna start maintaining anytime soon I think.

What a week so far!
As a team, we have lost 20 pounds this week - and I think that will stay pretty steady or even increase with the final weigh-ins coming in. It would be fun to have a team avatar and show its losses and gains over the weeks - but maybe it would disappear at one point, because usually the team loses at least a bit every week. It is rare we have a "red" week because we are so awesome
I was surprised that I had not put on weight this week after many indulgences and rather excessive lunches, but it seems that the high percentage of vegetable matter has kept it from being too terrible. I am still going to work on avoiding that binge feeling, though - it is a scary place to hit whenever it happens. Luckily there has been a ton of outdoor physical work every day, so the excesses on the intake side have not caused as much damage as they could have.
@happimess01
I love your new narcissistic self! I had a whole series of publicity shots taken after losing weight, and it is a great feeling - I think we have a very hard time believing that it is true! @ashleycarole86 too - looking amazing. And others on the team - the new clothes shots, the athletic wear shots -- all these are great and please never hesitate to post them! It isn't narcissism. It is pride in a very hard job well done!
@YinxFed
It is sure getting close! Keep those blisters under control - it is horrible when they can stop you in your tracks. The blister bandages and all really help. Can't wait until your event happens! It sounds really amazing.
Please get those last weigh-ins for the week in tonight! I'll be at those tallies first thing tomorrow.5 -

@Kali225 Walking while I talk on the phone is such a great way to get two things done at once, but I never do. Good idea. How was your tapas dinner?
@YinxFed Bummer about the blisters. So exciting how close your trek is now... really looking forward to hearing how it turns out for you.
@jugar Do you think after a certain amount of time maintaining that fear of regain goes away? I imagine this is different for every person, just curious about your experience. Glad your weigh-in was a pleasant surprise, good to be able to shake off the past and keep moving forward (whether it had been or not).
Today was good. I ended up moving a ton more than I thought. Lazy days at the lake usually start off feeling like they'll be impossible for me to work 10K steps in, but I ended up doing over 15K! The key was getting a big walk in early, and then looking for other opportunities to walk. Also asked Brad to play 30 minutes of catch and Frisbee with me.3 -
@ashleycarole86 steps for the week
The great steps today were from working in my yard and a dance party we had with my grand.4 -
Hi,
Quick check in today! @YinxFed Wow your event is so close! Darn those blisters. I have some of those too right now and I've been in my sandals the last 4 days to give them a break. Tomorrow my husband and I are hiking with friends and I feel pretty good about how the blisters healed. Take care and I am really excited for you!
I take lots of selfies and think they are a great way to reflect on our weight loss journey. They bring a lot of perspective especially when I am being hard on myself.
Today I was in my calories but didn't do any major exercise. We spent the day at the lake but to chilly to swim. Did some fishing and took a boat ride. The kids have had good luck finding interesting creatures lately. The caught a large crayfish and a wooly bear caterpillar!

Happy Sunday Lovelies,
And for today's weigh in:
PW - 184.7
CW - 185.0
I'd been happy with my daily weigh-ins until this morning, which was the highest reading of the week! I was sorely tempted to round up an average of 6 days rather than 7. But honesty won!
So it's a small gain, but I can live with it.
For now, I am going to test drive these new anti blister socks for my final practice walk before Event Day.

Not my best week. Can you tell what day we got quarentined? Addison tested negative, but Mikey lost his sense of taste/smell Thurs. I have been exhausted, and sort of feel like I have allergies. They said we may not get our results until Tuesday because it is Labor Day weekend. I have been eating all the carbs and not moving my body.
