I'm back. I've done Uke and choir practice, made cards and done bits and pieces around the house. I got some fresh Tumeric from the Village garden so have a Zucchini Squash dish on the stove to go with dinner. Here's my cards:

    20250630_145245.jpg

The Cards might become a class design. I want to make a few more desugns before I decide on next months' classes.

Barb, things look good for Harry3. We have those grab bars in our bathrooms too for Colin, but I find them useful as well. The cards I showed you before this post were not made by me and the lady in the background was attending my class. I designed the cards they made and cut out their kits for them, then taught them how to make them. I had a card class to run on Saturday so took some photos to show you what we were making.

Linda, you sound so organised with food and running everything for crowds like clock work. I'm glad you have a little help this time. Yes, real life rarely turns out the way the Lord recommends. Lots of things don't seem fair, hey.

Judith, I have yet to read any more posts do will go see what's in the prayer thread now.

Linda. What a busy lady hope you got it all done today for your trip. So good you got the food organizing and all & had some help. Your sermon sounded good too.

Today I got the church key to the closet and the Nancy who, use to be in charge,, she is 89 will help but is stepping down. She gave me lots of ideas and we do have lots of decorations. I hope I can remember them I have another lady help, me but right now she is in wheel chair. We did decide on the decorations for the next Joy group,in July not hat is eat! We are going to, use sea shells and starfish even though Kansas is land locked many people have picnics and may go, to a beach or pool. It will, be neat decorations for each table.
Yes 3 is so proving it was suggested to get 2 wheelchairs for each floor though I Hioe he won’t be needing them when he goes home. I really think I. July he will go,home.
He had an accident during the night so,that may help I his favor to stay there he has Aetna insurance and I’ve heard they are good and will work with you so praying so. God is in control ,of that. Tomorrow he will go to, the library with others from the rehab it’s his town library so HH Wilco meet him the with the girls.

Thanks for the compliments about my organizational skills. It was born from desperation when the children were little and I was home schooling. Anything that made my life easier, I was glad to implement. Now, it is more organizing because I can not remember things and need to keep a list of what needs to be done and also to make it less hard on me to do things at the last minute. There will still be last minute things but there are obvious things that can be done ahead of time. Today was more sorting than cooking. I am going through the tubs that we have all the items we need up at the cabin for 8 of us. Some things are worn out like the dishcloths and towels so I made some more out of old towels that still had some good material in them. They do not wear out all over so I like to repurpose the good parts.

Barb - I am also hoping that 3 will not need two wheelchairs for the different levels of the house. It does depend on what he can do when he is discharged. It looks like his stair climbing skills are doing well. Having an occasional accident may be discouraging but when I think of all the progress he has made in other areas, it is still very encouraging. I hope you are getting some more rain to help your grass and flowers.

Susan - The cards you made sound like our group. We are forever friends that are here for each other. I have a little wooden plaque that sits on my desk at eye level to remind me that a friend gave me. It says "You are amazing! Remember that". Your second card reminds me of the same thing. We all have differing talents and gifts that can be used by God to bless those around us.

Judith - Thanks for getting all the July threads ready for us to start tomorrow. It is hard to believe how fast this summer has gone. I'm glad that you got lots of resting on Sunday. Your body needs this to heal itself. It is hard to believe how fast this summer has gone.

Marilyn - praying for your sessions to be productive and your body will be able to rest after working so hard for so long. How are you feeling?

Welcome Back Susan, happy you finished your Choir and Ukulele Practices. The pictures of your cards are lovely. I like both designs you did, your class is doing a marvellous job in creating their cards. You can tell they put their heart into the designs they chose to create each card. The patters and card stock colors are so pretty. Hope you and Colin find favor with NDIS and Colin gets an appointment quickly. Praying he gets all the treatment he needs and Therapists are chosen so treatment will go forward in bringing Colin back to his optimal best!

Barb, I have Announced the New Daily Devotions, Daily Bible Reading, Weight Loss and Maintenance, and Posted the Daily Team Challenges and Goals for July 2025! You asked that I would make sure I posted in the Weight and Maintenance thread. No worries all will be done. Look forward to joining you in the Threads. So all Good! Thanks for sharing the pictures of the shower stall and washroom that Harry3 uses. Very nice. Thanks for your prayers. It’s great Harry3 is doing so well. He is improving everyday. Hope Harry3 and the group from the rehab enjoy their trip to the Library 📚 and nice Hong Hong and the girls will meet him there. A very nice outing.

Linda, as Barb said you are such a busy gal. It’s good you got the food organized for your trip and the bonus, you had some help. I have no idea what’s happening with MFP but I have been timed out 3x’s just trying to respond to your latest post and for some reason it’s no where to be seen.

So in the meantime I will go and finish Critiquing all the Threads I posted for July so all will be ready for you in the morning when you are posting for July! I will check back and see if your post has appeared so I can reply!

Hello all. Thank you for your nice feedback about my cards. It's pretty constant, looking for new ideas for my 4 groups and matching colours and papers etc. I was playing with ink and embossing techniques last night. I finished one card but the other one I was working on ended up in the bin. It just wouldn't come together! So lots of trials and tests go into card making too! This was the successful card. I didn't edit the photo do you can see some of my chaotic desk too.

    20250701_220609.jpg

Judith, thank you from me too about starting all the July threads. I hope you feel a little better and have a little energy coming back after your last round of Dr visits. It looks like Colin's review will go forward without the Chronic Disease specialist report. I think they just want to get it out of the way. It may not be entirely fair, and the decision could go either way. We could still lose his plan. On the other hand, we could get it back. We just have to let things get processed and pray.

Linda, friendship is wonderful. I am so glad you have people who recognise your worth in your life. There's nothing like real life hugs and heartfelt words. God blesses you!

Barb, you sound like you are taking on a decorator's role at the church? I think you will enjoy that. It will allow you to be creative on a large scale! Yay! It's good to hear how Harry3 is doing too. July is already here so he is that much closer to going home. I know he still has progress to make but he is doing so well. It was a miracle that the tumour wasn't cancerous and his brain is finding new ways to do things. How incredible his life is.

I need to get house cleaning done before Uke practice this afternoon. You all take care.

Susan. The decorative job is only with about 7-8 tables for Joy group once a month the just older youth group we have. Prayong for you guys. I hope yiur meeting goes yiur way. God can do, that. Trust your practice went well I love your cards.

Judith. Happy Canada day. I hope it was enjoyable for you. Will you have fireworks tonight?
    Prayong for you Judith.

Linda. Trust all is going well with your plans and that your cooking went well. Enjoy your break

Harry 3, went to the library in his neighborhood, Mariposa and HH met him there. Mariposa even help push his wheelchair for him. Maryann who took him, fro m the rehab, got a dvd for the rehab to watch so a good day for all.
keep, praying that his insurance extends his stay. My wish and prayer is that 3 goes hime maybe not needing his wheelchair. God can do that. I think he maybe starting to cruise, as I’ve been told that he feels good when standing with something against him. Like the washing machine. PT had him working on steps too.

We harvested our first cucumber today! 🥒It is small but we were not expecting large ones since we bought the wrong kind at the vegetable nursery. I was going to prepare it in a salad tonight but we went to a memorial service for a friend from our Bible College days and they had a meal there. It was a little different in that there were no people who got up to speak about our friend. The family said that she wanted to be remembered by people having fun and did not want a regular service. We all ate and talked around the table about how we knew her and memories we treasured. It was really fun which is what she wanted. Tomorrow a man is coming to paint the front of our house at 7am. Glenn graciously said I did not need to get up when he comes since that is a little early for me to be up. The front of our house is painted boards and with bricks on the bottom. All day long the sun shines on the front of the house and fades the paint so we have to paint it more often than the rest of the house.

Judith - Happy Canada Day! What kind of celebration is associated with this celebration? People are already lighting fire crackers around our house in celebration of early 4th of July. I really hate that they do this because we have a friend who was in the Navy and has PTSD from all the shooting and killing that was involved in his time in Iraq. When he hears the popping noises, he automatically relives the shooting he heard when he was in the service.

Susan - I like the texture on your new card. Do you have ideas that Stamp-In Up gives you or do you have to create new cards each month? Do you do the same cards for each of your groups? I am so glad that things are moving forward for Colin's records review. I pray for the decision to be favorable for him but just waiting and praying is all we can do (which is very powerful).

Barb - Your Joy group volunteer job sounds like fun. There are not a lot of tables but you can do so many things to make the decorations meaningful. 3's trip to the library sounded like fun with the girls. Going to the library is one of my favorite activities. When I was in middle school, I was the assistant to the librarian and I had thought of going to college to be a librarian but that did not work out.

    Pleasant dreams everyone! 😴

    Evening Hello,

Thank you for the Happy Canada 🇨🇦 Day Wishes. It was a quiet day but all good, Fireworks on tonight! Many of the communities have various events at the Parks, some camp for long weekend! Many families have picnics in local parks. I have several Canadian Flags in my yard! I keep them there all year round.

I have my Surgeon appointment on Thursday. So thankful one appointment this week.

Susan, your cards are beautiful you posted last couple of days. I love the Stampin’UP cardstock, embellishments, punches, embossing folders, and all the pretty background paper. I am sure the ladies learn a lot from you as you hold these classes. I am praying and trusting God that the Records Review goes well and they will make the decision favourably on Colin’s behalf. Trusting Colin will get all the treatment he so needs.

Linda, congrats on the first Cucumber you harvested. The Memorial service you went to for your friend who recently passed sounded so lovely. Not the traditional service usually has but as the family wanted the friends to remember her by sharing amongst yourselves around the tables the memories you had of your friend. Hope the painting turns out for the front of your house.
Thank you for wishing me a Happy Canada Day and asked how we celebrated Canada Day?
Most communities across the country host organized celebrations for Canada Day, typically outdoor public events, such as parades, carnivals, festivals, barbecues, the Canadian Air Force Snowbirds do a special Fly Over in Ottawa to celebrate Canada Day and other air and maritime shows, fireworks, and free musical concerts, as well as citizenship ceremonies.

Barb,so glad to hear Harry3 went with the group to the Library and Hong Hong and the girls met everyone there. I am sure the girls loved going to the Library with their Dad. Your Joy Group volunteer job sounds like it’s so much fun for you all. Thank you for wishing me a Happy Canada Day and for posting all the July Threads.

God Bless you all. Time for bed soon so will say Good Night God Bless 😴🙏🤗

    Hello everyone.

It's another clear, crisp day here. I'll be wearing layers of clothes to keep warm.

Judith, I am glad you only have one appointment to go to this week. It must be so exhausting, keeping up with their schedule. I hope it isn't a trying appointment for you this time. It seems we celebrate Australia Day very much like you celebrate Canada Day. Australia Day is on our summer, too. I do remember Canada Day parades when I lived in the NWT. We learned songs to si g too. The Bicentennial happened in the late 1960s there and I remember learning a patriotic song in English and French.

Linda, I was glad to hear you didn't have to get up early for the paunters. Congratulations on your cucumber harvest! I know you will have plenty more of them soon. Meanwhile, I am still enjoying lemons and fresh Tumeric from our community gardens. I cooked a stew with fresh Tumeric in it last night. As for card making, I do get ideas from other people but also create my own designs. Stampin' Up! provides inspiration too but they do not require us to follow their designs. I sometimes get away with doing g all the sane designs for my four classes each month, but sometimes different classes ask to do different things. I freely create cards all month in the hopes that class groups will want to make two of my already designed cards, but so.etimes they ask for elements from several different projects. I keep notes on my card recipes and that helps me know what sizes to cut for our kits.

Barb, it's good to see Harry3 out in the community a little bit. Oh and now I understand better about decorating the tables each month for your Joy group. 😊

Thank you all for praying about Colin's funding. We spent last night writing a response to their email asking if they had got our wishes and evidence list of documents right. I am going to re-read our response today and send it off.

    Have good days, everyone.

Linda Hope the painting went well. It’s ashame that you ned to paint it often with the sun fading it. We have vinyl on our house. I will need to wash it with a hose when I water. Maybe this week or next week. Congrats on your first cucumber. I see 2 in our garden. I always have a rough time knowing when to, pick,up any suggestions. How can you tell it’s ripe.
I have had 3 cherry tomatoes & have 2 Roma tomatoes i will pick probably tomorrow.
Glad your memorial service so went well made you having hot dog days of summer there? We are each day to get more humid and hotter. Fun. Maybe an increase of spotting rain, who knows but God.

Judith. Prayers for you tomorrow. Glad only one dr visit this week. Somglad yiur Canada day was well I know it’s more like our 7/4. My sister told us all about it. Fireworks I guess all countries do. Our town with 2 others we all have same zip code the police put out a display at a catholic high school down the street. That is what I’m use to as. Growing up in Pennsylvania you could not buy fireworks or shoot them off. Not like Kansas where I live now. I think that law doesn’t exist in PA any more.

Susan. Prayers your response gets some action concerning Colin and NDIS. Keep,us posted please we all are praying for you. Yes your texture cards were very neat. You talk about being cold and we all are swearing well t least I am, especially when I work outside or take my walk.

So I may be helping decorate the church patriotic on Saturday, guess since I have the key I will be taking ours down, as I put sunflowers up for summer. It’s not till 11 so I should be ok.
our pastor likes to have fasting, yet once when we were away and I had not had supper by sunset I fainted at a gas station on way to restroom. My dr told me that with my high bp I needed food and not good to hold off supper till sunset. Anyone else have that problem? Not sure what to do with the fasting, and I have my first missions meeting Wednesday of the fast too. Then they have a potluck to break the fast @7:30-8. Not sure I’ll do that with Joy group Thursday so I bring a serving to that, and leaving on Monday. I don’t need lots of left overs food. So thats 2 potlucks in 2 consecutive day. Not helping me with emptying my refrigerator.
    Oh well.

The painter was here from 7am to 2pm and is not done yet. The wood was so dry he had to put three coats on it because it kept soaking up the paint. It looks so much better now but he still has some touch-up to do so is coming back tomorrow. We painted it the same dark brown color but I think next time I would like to change it to another color. Our house in Denver is blue and I really like that. Our neighbor just put dark blue siding on her house. Before the people came to side her house, she let her kids write all over the side of the house with spray paint. At first we thought someone had defaced her house but she assured us there was no gang activity associated with it. It was her own kids who did the "artwork". It is now covered up with the siding and looks a lot better. I harvested three yellow squash today but I think the hot weather made them a little tough. They were not very big but the outside skin was hard. We have one tomato that is about ready to be picked in the next few days.

Barb - as I said above, I am not sure when to pick things either with this hot weather. The cucumber was a bit bitter too but did not have big seeds like it was to mature. There was rain in the surrounding area but we did not get any today. Tomorrow we have 20% chance of rain. Our plants are doing well with the irrigation water every other day. When it is back in the 100F next week it will be nice to be in the mountains with the family where it is much cooler. You mentioned fasting. I feel it needs to be done with your health in mind. I can fast but get a headache if I do not drink enough water and my husband can not do it because his blood sugar goes too low and he will faint. He tries to fast from other things like social media, TV, and other non-food things.

Susan - Just when I thought that you were done with all the forms and submissions, they ask for more! I agree it is good to write it then read it several times to make sure things are stated as plain as they can be. When I had to fill out forms for my Dad to get Veterans benefits, they told me that once I submitted all the forms (and there were a lot) I should not contact them at all. If I were to contact them, my forms would be pulled to answer my question then put on the bottom of the pile again so it would be even longer to get it done. It was a blessing to have the monetary benefit that they provided but it was a lot of work.

Judith - I am glad that you only have one appointment this week but this is the one that is not very pleasant. Has the doctor given up on the new medication he wanted you to have? I appreciate you explaining Canada day celebrations. We are going to see fireworks tomorrow night at our friend's house. There are several little cities around here so they have fireworks on different days. The city we are going to do theirs's on the 3rd. Grand Junction does theirs on the 4th after the minor league baseball game. The team calls themselves the Jackalopes. The jackalope is a mythological creature originating in North America. It is a jackrabbit body and antelope horns. It is strange looking!

Susan, love all your cards that you do, and I do the same, I have about every colour of card stock one could have, all my Pens markers, paint markers and embossing design folders, ribbon, punches and so much more. I love designing my own cards. I have all the supplies I need. I have a stack of Stampin’UP Catalouges and sometimes I leaf through them to get ideas but never copy the cards they show. I love designing my own cards. Thanks for sharing about the Canada Day celebrations you had when living in the NWT and the song you learned in French and English. That is awesome. It’s nice your Austrailer Day is in summer like our Canada Day Celebrations. We have Fireworks but the Fire Department only allows it in certain places, No private homes can buy and set of Fireworks or Fire Crackers on their property. There is a hefty fine if one is caught setting off fireworks in their back yard. Sorry you have had to send more information in to NDIS, here’s hoping Colin gets the Funding so he gets everything he needs in moving forward with his treatment. My prayers continue.

Linda, so glad you are getting the painting done, 3 coats is a lot of paint but glad it’s getting done. Sounds like it will look so nice. You will enjoy going to your friend’s home to see the fireworks. So happy the city allows it, you said you will go after the game, the Team name Jackalope is a strange name and you are right the creature that has a body of a Jack Rabbit and horns of a Antler, wow, very strange. Oh dear, I was just timed out and the other half of my post was lost as I was about to save it but was timed out before I did it. So frustrating. You were asking about when to pick cucumbers, Inhave some info and will share tomorrow.

Barb, great you are starting to harvest tour tomatoes and cucumbers. You asked same question as Linda about when to harvest pick your cucumbers, will bring my info I have and post tomorrow. You were talking about Fasting, Intoo at one point of my life always Fasted, sometimes our Church would join together and did many different Fasts, Juice Fasts, Daniel Fast and the Esther Fast.and Total Fast. But when I was diagnosed with BP and A-Fib and Cancer I had same experiences ans you had and had to stop a Total Fast. About 2 years ago I tried a partial fast with no Food but all Liquids, clear juices and Broths & Water. I have done the same types of Fasting as Linda suggested with fasting from TV, Social Media etc. God knows all about our situation on Fasting with our health and what is important is the Heart not what you go without. You have a tender heart before God and that is what’s important. You Shine and you are a great witness to those God brings along your path.

Well it’s late and tomorrow afternoon comes quickly so off to bed now. Thanks for your prayers. Good Night, God Bless! 😴🙏🤗

Good morning, friends. Happy 4th of July for those celebrating though I guess that will happen tomorrow, your time. It's the 4th here today.

We have the same rules as you about fireworks, Judith. They usually get set off in fairgrounds only.

Glad your house is painted again, Linda. I like blue better than brown too.

Barb, it's always nice to grow things in your own garden. I'll read Judith's cucumber picking tips with interest too.

I think the last time I food fasted was when I was in my 40s. I agree, health matters need to be a factor in considering how long to fast and how.

We have a big water leak in the van. We had a lot of rain a few days ago and water saturated the head of the bed, including pillows, blankets, sheepskin underlay and mattress. Water was running out of those items as Colin and our neighbour Eddy struggled them out the door. We have an appointment with a van repairer this morning to get a quote for fixing it. Insurance won't cover the first $1000 in repairs. Ugh. Double, triple ugh. Colin is already exhausted.

Thank you Susan. It’s July 4 Eve. 🎇
Prayers for your leak in the van Susan plus NDIS after sending the email. Hipe the quote wasn’t to bad and you can get it fixed quickly. Glad it’s not a holiday or here it’d be next week fixed. Praying.

Linda. Blue is my favorite color and prettier I think. Thank you for the info on picking cucmbers more of a guess, I may Google just to see what they say. The 2 we have maybe needing to be picked soon. I picked the one tomato. Harry said it’s not red enough, yet I hate animals eating g my veggies.

Judith. I hope today went well for you prayong for you. That you are in little or no pain plus able to sleep.

Thank you for giving me ideas on what I can do with fasting I like watching weather, so may give that up and ice cream. With the heat I’m eating some every night. I don’t use social media so at least you gave me ideas. Thank you thank you.
Tonight the policemen or firemen put up a nice display of fireworks. Today there were some chairs saving their places I’ve never seen that and I’d be afraid of someone taking my chairs. Our glider got taken from our porch back 10:years ago and now I have a bike lock, on our glider. I’ll go,down at 8:30 or so. The show starts when it’s dark, so like 9:45 or so.

Stay safe all. It’s neat that all our countries celebrate their birthdays & independence with fireworks.

We just got back from our 4th of July celebration (on the 3rd). We had a huge rain storm around 4:30pm and some were wondering if the fireworks would happen but it did stop raining and the sun came out around 8pm so the celebration happened. It was so nice that our friend can watch the display from their back yard. To go to a park or designated area and find parking places is very hard. This way we did not have to fight traffic. Going home was very busy but it was fine since Glenn was driving. I do not drive well in the dark especially when there is a lot of road construction going on as there in in our travels to our friends house.

Judith - Although personal fireworks are permitted if they are small and on the ground, they had said earlier that because of the dry conditions, they were a fire hazard. With our huge rainstorm in the afternoon, the fire danger was not so much of a problem. There were a few around our friend's house that did some but most people did not have any. I'm praying for you as you had your surgeon appointment today.

Susan - I'm so sorry that you had a leak in the van. We had a leak in the trailer two years ago but did not realize it because we had not been up to use the trailer for a month. We did see some water damage but did not know where it came from. While we were in it, we had a rain storm and discovered that the leak was around where the air conditioner was in the ceiling. We did not use the air conditioner because the temperatures do not get high enough in the mountains to need it so we had it removed and just had a regular fan put in it's place which works just fine. It does get expensive to fix them though.

Barb - how awful to have your glider stolen from your porch. Was it during a celebration when there were a lot of people walking around and they just took it? I think putting a lock on it is a good idea now. Our glider is on the back patio so no one can see it.

Hello Ladies, this is what I have for picking and harvesting cucumbers.

The best time to harvest cucumbers is when they reach their mature size for the specific variety, are a dark green color, and have firm skin. For most slicing cucumbers, this is usually around 6 to 9 inches long.

Harvesting cucumbers regularly, especially when they reach the right size and color, encourages the plant to produce more fruit.

Color: Look for a deep, dark green color. Avoid cucumbers with yellowing skin, as this indicates they are past their prime and may have a bitter taste.

Firmness:Ripe cucumbers will be firm to the touch, indicating they are full of moisture.

Variety: Different cucumber varieties will have different ideal sizes and shapes. Check the seed packet or plant information for details on your specific variety.

    Best Time of Day:

Early Morning: Cucumbers are best harvested in the morning when the vines are cool from the night and the cucumbers have had time to absorb moisture, resulting in a plumper and more flavorful fruit.

    Harvesting Technique:

Use a sharp knife or clippers: Avoid twisting or pulling the cucumber from the vine, as this can damage the plant.Cut the stem: Cut the stem about a half-inch above the fruit.

By paying attention to these indicators and using proper harvesting techniques, you can ensure a delicious and abundant harvest of cucumbers.

    Evening Hello,

Be sure to read the Cucumber Harvesting picking I posted above. Hope the info helps!

Happy 4th of July! Be safe as you go to watch the Fireworks and do all the other things to remember why you honor Memorial Day and enjoy the Fireworks that are displayed in your area. Be safe all!

Barb, it’s evening already so hope you are enjoying the display. Be safe! Glad the ideas for how you could still Fast without Food! Your idea on IceCream and watching weather. That’s great you have a plan.

Susan, I am so sorry to hear about the water leak in your van. Is this your van you take when you camp? I am hoping the Van repair people can give you a reasonable quote for fixing it. Here’s hoping your insurance covers the cost! Also thinking about all the bedding that got saturated in water, hope they are not lost and can be washed and dried. It is sure a lot of work for you. Hope Colin and Eddy who pulled everything out of Van are alright and didn’t hurt themselves. Praying for you.

Thank you all for your prayers. I next have appointment in 2 weeks and on July 8th I have the appointment with Neurosurgeon who is gathering info and will tell me if I am a candicate for having the injections on my neck for the nerve damage that is causing issues with right arm with numbing and tingling at times. It’s not constants but pain is.

Will keep you posted! Heading to bed now. Think I am posting different time from you Linda so I have missed your post! Hope you had a good July 4th and enjoyed the Fireworks at your friends home!

Good Night All! Thanks for your prayers!
    🤗🙏😴

Judith thank you for the info on harvesting cucumbers. I googled it on cucumber, harvesting. Google said green and firm cucumber. So I picked 2, plus 2 Roma tomatoes. Google also, said to avoid letting the, get yellow.
Prayers for yiur upcoming dr visit on 7/8, which is my husband & my moms bdays. My mom turns 90 this year. She hates goodbye. It’s bad so she asked for no party, which is sad as we don’t really know our neices & nephews since they live in other states. Or my kids know their cousins. Oh well.
Prayers that the neck injections with the neurosurgeon can work Somglad he’s looking into it praying

Linda. So you had rain. We need it here as everything grass especially is turning brown. So I guess both of us saw fireworks yesterday. We will have supper with Jean and her family. In Kansas City, iKS you can shoot fireworks so,it maybe noisy there.
Please pray as they will be driving to Lancaster, PA tomorrow getting back then we leave for. Colorado, with other daughter and family.
Our glider was stolen several years ago maybe 10 , all while I worked. Guess they needed it more than I We did call the police on it but nothing they can do

Susan. I hope your van can get fixed and not cost too, much money. Also, that Colin and Eddy are ok.

Here are some pics of last night and my first veggies.
I will be helping to decorate our church patriotic tomorrow.
I am taking my down & putting up Kansas state flower. The sunflower. Thats my summer decorations till I put up fall decorations.
    Happy 4 in USA

What great fireworks pictures, Barb! Well done! I love the harvest picture too. Glad you have a few ideas for fasting now. I'm sorry your Mom doesn't want a birthday party. They are much better reasons for family gatherings than tragic reasons but I understand she might feel the heartbreak of being 90. Wow, that's a great age. She will have seen so much in her life ❤️

Judith I read the cucumber information with interest. I usually water my plants late afternoon to allow them to fill up on water overnight, especially in summer. That makes sense for cucumber vines as they are such a juicy vegetable. Thank you for the information. I am praying about those injections for your neck. Hugs, hon.

Linda, your July 4th celebrations sound ideal! It's nice not to have to battle traffic, walk long ways carrying stuff and you got to spend time with friends also. 😀 It was great that the rain storm was well-timed as well. I hear you about water.leaks in your van....

Yes, the only van we have is our caravan/trailer. Yesterday was just an assessment for what needed to be done. It seems the silicone seals had dried and cracked. This is covered by our warranty and is a relatively easy thing to fix. We have booked the van in for repairs in two weeks. Once we towed the leaky van back to the parking compound at home (it is not under cover) Colin climbed up a ladder to reach the roof and put temporary patches over the joins so if it rains during that time, it will be OK. We hope. I didn't like him climbing up a ladder to reach the roof but he said he was OK and doing what he did was not a strenuous thing. He had a tube of sealant with a squeezer and just ran it along the joins. The repairer will dig out the old sealant and Colin's patch work and replace it with new sealant. Colin just does what he feels capable of. Thanks for asking about him and Eddy. Both were fine. Colin rested the rest of the day.

    No news from NDIS yet.

Our daughter, granddaughter and dog made it safely over the mountain to see us. I am so glad she is here to help me get ready for next week. Their dog is very afraid of thunder and firecracker noises. She is trying to hide from the noise but it is all around our house. Right now she is in the small area between the bed and the wall. It is just big enough for her to fit. I am sorry that she is so scared. I wish we had someway to make her feel safe but that will only happen later tonight when the noises stop. I baked a 15# turkey today to freeze for sandwiches next week. We ate some of it tonight since it is too much for what we need. I made mashed potatoes with turkey gravy and vegetables for dinner.

Judith - I hope the decision will be made regarding the neck injections and it will help your pain and numbness. Thanks for the information on the cucumbers. Ours are very small since they were pickling ones we planted by mistake. They were not yellow but were a bit bitter so I think we were late picking them.

Susan - I am glad that the damage to the van is covered by warranty. I was imagining Colin getting up on top of the van and how my kids would have been upset if Glenn had done that. They forbid us to get up on top of anything although what they do not see they do not need to know. LOL Some things are not dangerous for us but they are extra careful for us. It is rarely that we do climb up on top of things.

Barb - Thanks for the pictures of the vegetables. We picked our first tomato today that was about the same size that yours were.

Barb, your Firework pictures were awesome, looks like you had a wonderful show. Your harvest picture is great, I am sure you will enjoy eating your tomatoes 🍅 and cucumbers 🥒 will you make a salad or slice them and eat them as a side dish. Sometimes I would fill half of my plate up with cucumbers, tomatoes, potato salad and garlic bread! So sorry your Mom doesn’t want a Birthday party for her 90th but I understand; she has lived a long life. My Dad lived to almost 94!

Susan, so glad to hear Colin and Eddy are both alright. And the Caravan is under warranty. That is great it can be fixed with no cost to you. I admit when I read that Colin climes on top of the Caravan to do a temporary job of covering the roof in case it rained before the caravan is repaired I had my heart in my mouth. But felt better knowing Colin doesn’t do anything he doesn’t feel safe to do. A sigh 😔 of relief! Sorry no news from NDIS yet!

Linda, so glad your granddaughter and her dog made it over the mountain safely. So sorry the dog is so frightened of the fireworks. My Sunshine is scared too and goes between the bed and wall trying to hide. I hope after the fireworks was over you could comfort your granddaughters dog! Your turkey sounded yummy, I always loved turkey dressing mashed potatoes and heaps of gravy! Will be nice to have turkey sandwiches 🥪 next week.Yes I hope the injections will go forward for the neck to help with nerve pain and damage.

Thanks all for asking after me and your prayers. Will keep you posted!

It’s bedtime now so it’s Good Night and God Bless! 😴🛌♥️🙏🤗 Be back tomorrow.

Susan. Hope your church went well. Glad that you have a warranty with your van. So glad the getting fixed is covered with warranty and an easy fix PTL on that!
Prayers to hear for NDIS too. Glad Colin and Eddy are ok. Rest is good too.

Linda. Also, glad that yiur grnad daughter and dog made it over the mointain. Lots of dogs do not like fireworks. Jeans dog acted up with storms too. So that may be common too they use to give him meds, to calm him.
Hope the Turkey baked ok for sandwiches next week. Sounds yummy.

Judith So glad you kept the 2 ounces with seeing the Dr on Thursday keep uwomthe good work! Praying for you.
Prayong the injections will work for you too. Keep us posted which I am sure you will do.

Louise. Harry’s sister a retired OT did some OT with 3, her nephew, she had him remove address labels and stickers and put the, on a paper then cut with scissors the first time he used scissors he can cut! He used his right hand so maybe he is used his right hand more often he mentioned that his signature is Loki g better than even yesterdays PTL

I hope to make a angel food cake Monday for Harry’s bday. 3 favorite cake is angel, food cake too so that way I can take some for him on Tuesday my husband, Harry’s bday as is my mom’s bday. Then Thursday is Joy group and I plan on making a tuna macaroni salad. I hooe not to have much left overs as we leave next Monday for CO. I don’t think macaroni salad with mayo can freeze? Or can it?
Jean daughter and family are on their way to ing to Lancaster, PA, as my mom lives there. Tuesday is her bday too. They are near Indianapolis and in Eastern time.
I’ll send a picture from lunch Blake and Evan playing. It’s cute.

We are gradually getting things ready for Monday. We got groceries and now we have to cook the rest of the things we bought and freeze it. Priscilla (our daughter) made meatballs tonight to use for spaghetti later in the week. I do not like to freeze the spaghetti pasta because I think it gets mushy and grainy when thawed.

Barb - I guess I just answered your question about freezing your macaroni salad. I think the mayo may get watery also. I am glad that 3's sister was able to work with him on hand control. I am glad that he is using his right hand more too. The picture of Blake and Evan is cute. It looks like they are having a great time. I pray that they all have a safe trip to Pennsylvania to celebrate with your Mom although she does not want a party. Would she agree with just a nice meal with family without out a big celebration?

Judith - The dog refused to take her anxiety medication today and now she is really scared of the celebraters who are firing off noisy firecrackers a day late. She was fine for the daytime but tonight is a different story.

Susan - I'm sorry that Colin has not been feeling well after his adventure on the roof of the van. Hopefully it will get fixed soon and he will not need to do temporary fixes on it again.

Susan, So sorry to hear that Colin has had pain the last few days as a result of repairing the caravan. hope he can get some rest and the pain subsides soon. Hope you enjoyed your Sunday Services and your evening is blessed. My prayers are with you both.

Linda, I agree about freezing pasta as I learned way back in my 20’s when I froze my pasta meals thinking I was being smart preparing my meals in advance and freezing them. Oh my, never again, there were watery and mushy, guess I wasn’t too smart after all. 😂 so sorry your sweet fur baby was so scared with the fire works that were going off, you said she refused her meds, was there a reason she wouldn’t take her meds? Glad you are all ready and have the other meals prepared that can be put in freezer. Safe travels when you leave.

Barb, I guess I answered your question about freezing pasta when I shared my story with Linda. I loved the pictures of Evan and Blake, looks like they were having fun. The picture of Harry3 and Annabella was so sweet, I could see the proud look on Harry3’s face as he held is daughter. So nice that he is using his right hand more. Angel food cake is such a nice cake, prefect for Harry3 birthday. Have a safe trip to be with your Mom for her 90th Birthday, I know you said she didn’t want big party, hope she would be ok with just family being with her. My prayers are with you all. Please say Happy Birthday 🥳 to your both Harry’s and your dear Mom.

It’s bedtime for me and I really need to call it a night. Have a Blessed Sunday and enjoy your Sunday services. ✝️📖🙏

I didn’t think you can freeze the macaroni tuna salad. I won’t make a lot with leaving next week. Th am you. Glad all liked the pictures.
Jean and family made it to Maryland, and checked in early to a motel, so the boys got to swim. I’m sure they liked that. They only have 3 more hours. So they will be there tomorrow maybe for lunch. My mom hates goodbyes always has. When they came out here in Kansas it was awful the goodbyes. Our kids hated it. It’s only gotten worse with her age and with my dad gone it’s worse. So I was told no party. We wanted to go, out in June but with Harry 3, decided to wait till September to go,out. Harry likes to take his time to get there & enjoy the USA on the way. My mom isn’t always nice to me. This weekend she told me that I will probably have dementia, as my dad’s sister, my aunt has it. She is 93 or 94. She told me this on July 4. I’m always doing so,etching to upset her. So, it is hard to stay more than 3 nights. My sister in Canada can do no wrong. Oh well I try. Jean has a care package that I made for her for her bday. It was fun making them with seeing 3 every day.
Tomorrow, I will walk with Mariposa, plus get new library books for her. Annabella is 6 months old today.

Susan. Hope your Sunday services were good, plus that Colin had less pain still praying for NDIS too. Hope your van gets back soon. 🙏🏻

Judith. Hope you had a good day. Prayers as you will see the dr this week too. Many prayers for wisdom too for doctors. 😘

Linda. I hope you are all, packed. Sounds like you got the meals packed. Lots to do when traveling, and you are organized so I’m sure all got, done. Have fun and stay safe. 🙏🏻
