We're going to church tonight so I will be getting dinner ready in a minute
Still finding out about people who have lost everything in the floods. 15000 homes went under and many shops. We watched a houseboat on TV get snagged an DC pulled under the raging Brisbane River water in about 10 seconds flat. A 76 yo man was on board and he survived, thanks to people helping him out.1 -
Flooding is so dangerous if you get into the strong currents. I am sorry about the houseboat but glad he was able to get out safely. The homes that are underwater will certainly be ruined with the water as well as the mess to clean up when the water goes down. Nature can be devistating. I was just looking at pictures of the houses that were burnt down in the wildfire we had two months ago near our house. The power of the fire was unbelievable in the destruction that it caused. My prayers go out to those involved.
My husband came home last night safe and sound. It is good to be back to normal now. Of course in this world "normal" changes with the situation. We are now able to be inside without wearing masks for covid. They are watching closely to see if our numbers go up with this relaxing of the regulations. I went for my 3 month check-up on my varicose vein procedures and they are still requiring masks in the office.

Good Morning All
Susan, my heart goes out to the people who have lost so much. Floods are so devastating. My prayers continue for the people in your area that have lost so much. Praying for safety for you and everyone and trusting the rains will cease and the flood waters dry up soon! Take care my friend. Thank you for posting the recipe! I look forward to trying it when I get my treatments completed.
Linda, thanks for sharing the powdered milk and water solution to use on your tomatoe plants to help prevent rot. I grow tomatoes yearly and will try this, never heard of this but will give it a try. So happy your husband is back home.
Have a blessed day and weekend ahead. 😊🙏0 -
We are traveling over the mountain to our quiet retriement home. I will try to come back later to post on the rest of the threads.1
-
Linda, glad your husband is home and you get to go to your retirement place. Yes, nature can be destructive and cruel and people lose much in natural disasters. So sorry about the fires near you. The floods here are subsiding at last.
Judith, you're welcome for the bread recipe. I hope you like it! It's not hard to chew at all. Thank you for your prayers. Praying for you too.
Marilyn, thinking of you. 🙏
It was a cleaning day here. It's always nice to have fresh linen and towels. Cathy vacuumed and mopped for me and cleaned the bathrooms too while I did the washing and changed the bed and towels.1 -
Daughter is now negative for covid - so thankful for that
Hubby and I are still positive - hubby has no symptons but still positive where I have symptons and positive.
It has been a difficult time and looks like it could go on for some time. Talked to the doctor yesterday re the intense back pain and he said covid will cause inflamation in the joints and stay that way for a couple of weeks after you are clear from covid. So far other than the muscle relaxer I am now taking at night for my back, I have not had to take a tyenlol since 5 pm yesterday which is good as it tells me that things are starting to settle down.
But I have been on the computer for about 30 minutes and am getting tired (leftover sympton from covid) so need to go and stretch out to 'rest'

Marilyn - I am glad your pain is lessening. Rest was the best treatment for me and my aches and pains with covid.
Judith - thankyou for the frittata recipe. My daughter makes these with different types of ingredients and they are delicious. She bakes them in the oven in a cast iron skillet. Maybe I will make one soon. thanks for the Easter devotionals. It helps keep me on track about what Easter is really about.
We have our Friday night group of friends coming over tonight. We have not been here long enough to make it dirty so cleaning should not take very long.1 -
Marilyn, it's good to hear from you. It sounds like your health is finally moving in the right direction. Praise God for answered prayer. Glad you are resting when you need it. Keep taking care of yourselves.
Linda, have a nice time with your friends. It's fun to catch up with them, I'm sure!
Judith, thinking of you. 🙏
It's a nice day here though humid and hot. I got the church financials up to date. Col is out playing lawn bowls. A quiet day for me.1 -

Its a gray day today with possible snow/rain mix predicted. The nice warm 60's are a thing only in my memory as it is back in the 30's today. I was a little concerned that with the warm weather the plants might start budding and then get killed with colder weather again. My daffodils are coming up but they are hardy. My grandson's birthday is March 13th and it always blooms around that day. I call it my Victor flower.2
-
Marilyn, I hope you and your family are doing better each day. Hang in there.
Linda, it would be a concern at the change of seasons. I hope that all your plants do not suffer too much in the changing weather.
We have the threat of storms again this afternoon. Our church meeting in person will probably be cancelled as it will be too dangerous on the road. Thankfully we have YouTube.

Susan - I hope the coming storms are not too destructive to your area. I am glad you can still "attend" church via zoom. It sure does help keep people connected expecially when they are far away. We are getting with two different couples this week via zoom which is very encouraging.
Judith - I hope you are able to maintain your 98#. I have not seen any posts for the last couple of days but am praying that you can and maybe even gain some weight.0 -

Good Morning All
Thank you all for keeping the threads going while I was away. A lot going on at my end. Praise God He has seen me through. God is good, All the Time! We serve a Mighty God!
Marilyn; so glad to hear your daughter is doing well and you have less pain, great the meds are bringing the inflammation and pain down. Thank you for sharing the quotes, it’s great having you back, you were missed!
Susan; so happy the rains have slowed down and weather is improving. Hope you enjoyed your quiet day while your hubby was off playing lawn bowls. That was a game my Mom loved, she was in several tournaments and so enjoyed the game!
Linda; hope you had safe travels to your retirement home and are enjoying your time there. Glad you enjoyed the frittata recipe. So happy you enjoyed the Easter Devotions I posted. Todays devotion is really good, let me know how it touched your life.
Blessings all, thank you for your kindness and encouraging words you share here.
God’s Blessings on your week! ❤️🙏🤗0 -

Judith - I did love the devotional for today. I normally am pretty hard on myself when I realize I have sinned. I do not have grace on myself and struggle having grace on others at times. This legalism divides me from God as well as my friends. I am really praying that I can have the mindset that God has forgiven me accepting me as his child and can stop punishing myself and forgive myself. The idea of second changes is so life-changing and a huge blessing to me when I think about it. I pray that I can instill it in my heart so that from the joy of forgiveness of myself I can transfer this to others.1
-
That sounds like a wonderful devotional, Judith and Linda. I'll go read it after this
Marilyn, good to see you posting. I wish and pray for all the things you know you need in your heart. 💖
The weather has turned sunny and hot again. We're trying to help those who lost everything in the floods.1 -

Marilyn that quote is so true. In a "situation" the only change sometimes is me. I can look at it as a stumbling block or a new path to learn something new.2
-
Thank you for sharing, you gals have encouraged me. So happy you are enjoying the Easter Devotionals. Hope you enjoy todays.
Blessings on your day and rest of your week. Love Hugs and Prayers...❤️🤗🙏1 -
That's one of life's secrets, Marilyn!
Take care of yourselves today. ❤1 -
It has been a very busy day! It is 9:30 pm and we are just eating dinner. I will write more tomorrow. Pleasant dreams to everyone.1
-
Linda, hope everything is alright.
We bought a dwarf lemon tree and some flower seedlings today. It feels nice to have a lemon tree again. We also got the place pest controlled. So we went out to the nursery because we could take our dog there too while the place aired and dried.1 -
Good Morning All 🌅
Linda; you must of had quite the day with finally eating dinner so late, 9:30pm, WOW… Hope all is well with you?
Susan, Dwarf Lemon Tree sounds so nice, I love fruit trees and lemon is extra special. Sounds like a great day for you with buying the seedlings bought and getting ready to plant.
Marilyn, thinking of you and family, hope you all are recovering and feeling better!
Blessings on your day! 😊❤️🙏🤗0 -

We made it fine through the snow storm last night and now it is all evaporated from the roads and grass. It doesn't look like we had any snow today. That is what happens when you live in a low humdity area of the country.
Lemon trees sound delicious but we have weather that does not cooperate with tropical fruit. We visited Florida once on a choir tour from the college and we were able to eat oranges and grapefruit off the trees. They are so much more flavorful than the ones in the store that are picked half ripe.
Tomorrow I start the Parish Nursing course to see if we can adapt it to the needs of our church for volunteer visitation. I had looked at the course and saw that it started at 8:30 in the morning which is a little early for me since I am not a morning person. I was talking to a friend who is also taking the course and she mentioned that the time was Eastern Time and for us in Mountain time it would be 6:30 in the morning. I was so shocked! I had not thought about it originating in New York state. That was pretty silly of me! I am already signed up so I will try to stay awake in the first few hours. It is for three weekends so I think I will be able to make it through. LOL1 -
Linda, that course is a wonderful thing to do! I hope you can stay awake for the course. I would struggle with that time too. I live in a temperate area but we can grow lemons if the grasshoppers don't eat all the leaves off the tree. My lemon tree is planted in a tub on wheels for our patio garden. Colin is watching out for the grasshoppers for me.
Judith, March is our planting month as it starts to get less hot. We have mild winters, perfect for flowers and vegetables.
Hi Marilyn. I hope everyone is beginning to feel better where you are.1 -

That's a great way to start a new month, Marilyn.
Had a nice day here with Archie getting groomed and having new friends over for dinner.
Thinking of you all!
