Judith, it's good that you could check in! Yes, I have been resting up a bit since my sister went home. I hope you are getting better and having good reports from your Doctors. Praying for you.

Marilyn, praying for you too and hoping healing is going well for you.

Linda, glad your grandchildren are aware of their grandpa's needs. I hope they remember and help take care of him. Safe travels. It rained lightly here again in the afternoon we hope I was walking my dogs, then we had heavier showers this evening.

    Take care everyone πŸ’•

Praying for you, Marilyn! I love Peanuts πŸ’•

Just a quick check in before I take the dogs on a walk. It's a beautiful sunny, cool day here. In the late afternoon the pavement is cool enough for the dogs' feet so I will walk them in a few minutes.

    Evening Hello Everyone

Will bring an update tomorrow but will say it was not a good session and most difficult. Thankful God is in charge and He is looking after me. Praise God!

Hope you all are doing well. We are in a heat wave here and under a heat warning. That is one reason I haven’t been here since weekend. We have several more days left in these high temps.

Marilyn continue to pray for you for a good report regarding your kidneys and praying for healing and for pain to cease in Jesus Name.

Linda hope you enjoy your trip and have fun at the cabin with your daughter and grandkids. Safe travels my friend.

Susan, trust all is well with you and Colin.

Take care all, be back in the morning. God Bless β€οΈπŸ™πŸ˜Š

Marilyn, I remember stacking records πŸ˜„

Rebecca, welcome! It's always good to have people who love God here. πŸ€— Do you have some horses? I live in a retirement resort now with a tiny yard but we have a common area with loads of facilities including a dog park where my two little puppy dogs can run free. I still have pot plants but have had bigger gardens in the past. I just love animals but my main hobby these days is papercrafting, mainly Cardmaking. I run small classes to teach others how to do it too. Here are my two dogs, Jasper and Archie:

Judith, so sorry you had a not so good session with the Dr. Hope you are not in too much pain and that you are finding ways to cope with the hot weather. Sending icy thoughts! Colin had some sort of virus this week but is off playing lawn bowls this morning so feels better. I am doing fine.

Linda, thinking of you on your trip!

We're going out to lunch with friends today. We're going to Cafe 63 where you can order individual foods as well as their complete dishes. I see either bacon and eggs or a bunless burger in my future! Lol!

    Enjoy your days everyone.

I'm doing nothing today, Marilyn, due to catching a cold, but I can reflect on my blessings for sure!

Judith, that's a good summary of what we aim for here 😊 You always have my prayers and I know I have yours.

Rebecca, I hope you feel welcomed!

Linda, hope your travels are going well.

Today I have a cold so Colin has gone to church with the food and financial services without me. I am staying warm in bed.

We got home safely from the cabin last night to face a mountin of laundry. With the rain we had, there was plenty of mud for the kids to play in and to get on their clothes. They did have such fun outside although the rest of us stayed inside doing quiet activities. Yesterday before we left the cabin we did some work on clearing the roads where dead trees had fallen down and closed our path. We had a chain saw which made the work go faster but it started raining and hailing so we still had two trees to go before having to quit due to the weather. We will not go up there again this year so that will be on our "to do" list for next year. The trees are dead from the wildfire we had two years ago on the property.

Susan - I hope you get better soon. My daughter has a cold but took antihistamines and has been able to join in all the activites we did at the cabin. I have been sneezing but so far no other symptoms. Thanks for sharing your pictures of your precious pups.

Marilyn - I hope you are in less pain from your kidney stones and can rest. I know you look forward to your specialist visit to get some more information and help.

Rebecca - I am so glad you joined with us. I am a retired nurse but work as a vounteer registrar for the school my husband started that teaches master's degrees in Biblical studies, Christian counseling and Spiritual Formation. We live in Colorado between two houses. Our daughter lives in our Denver home full time and we stay there when we need to be in town for meetings or celebrations. We also have a retirement home in a much quieter town on the western side of the Rocky Mountains. This is what I call my "sanctuary" where I can clear my mind and enjoy life at a slower pace than Denver.

Judith - you are always on my mind and in my prayers. πŸ’– I am sorry you had a difficult doctor visit. Is there anything we can do for you from a distance besides prayer? I wish I could change the weather for you but that is not in my power to do. That is a good thing because I would probably mess up the whole ecosystem making the weather be what I wanted. πŸ˜€

🎈✨Happy birthday Colin! ✨🎈 I hope you two had a wonderful day celebrating.
We went to my M-I-L house today to pick up a dresser I need to use for my sewing material and machines. We are gradually taking out what we want so the house is getting less full. This dresser was built by her father many years ago but is still very sturdy. As we got ready to go, the clouds quickly turned very dark and it started to thunder. We did have a few sprinkles but it was not too bad which we were very grateful for. We did not have a cover for the dresser to keep it dry.

Our friend has a pear tree that is full of ripe fruit so this week we are going over there to pick some pears to eat. I don't know if I will freeze any or not. I have not done that and do not know how they will be after frozen. Peaches get very sour after frozen and since my husband can not have sugar and does not like artificial sweetners, it is hard to eat things so sour.

My husband is doing better every day. He was able to go to church today but sat in the back. The singing did start making him anxious when they were clapping but was able to stay in service. We try to not schedule much each day to give him the time to rest that he needs.

I have not been on here for a long time but thinking of you. Just thought I'd stop by and see what is going on.

Judith, I am sorry to see that you are still having problems.

A couple weeks ago I started coughing really bad. I had been really hot in the evenings, but just figured that was from the weather and it might have been, but the coughing was new. Started with gas backing into my throat and causing a cough, but it kept getting worse until I ended up at the ER. All this time the pandemic was going around and I never got it. Finally caught me. I quit coughing and the fever went away as soon as I hit the ER. Stayed down completely until Wednesday, but I'm slowly getting back into things. Watched church service on TV this morning then some classes on You Tube.

I am trying to finish a shawl I had started before getting the Covid. I'm having a little trouble getting the trim finished. I have done 4 before this one and I have another one started which will take the longest time since the yarn turned out to be smaller. It was from a Michael's class that I took online. One of these times I'm going to have to do the art classes I've been following, but I'm going to finish the shawls first.

I hope that everyone is doing well and hope things start going better for you, Judith.

One of my shawls I did.

The grandkids go home tomorrow so we have several projects that we need to have their help on. Early this Summer I had some potatoes that had started to sprout so they planted them in the planter out on the patio. They dug up the potatoes today and had an impressive amount of little potatoes. They also helped Gpa change out the mail box that had been on the to do list for a long time. We will miss them when they go back home.

Fancyqtr - That is a beautiful shawl! it would be nice to have on a chilly night. I would love to do something like that but when I try, I can not seem to get the stiches even. Maybe it comes with practice but I want instant results. 😁 That is not true in life. We all need to "practice" to get better.

I have a lot of trouble with my crochet with missing stitches and such. You don't know how many I have messed up in those shawls. I can never make anything without a ton of mistakes and some of them I had to pull out a couple rows because they were so bad. Usually I do something to make it look right.

Linda, that's so good to hear hubby is improving enough to take part in church. May the healing continue! Yes, Colin had a lovely birthday. He said he really enjoyed being out near the ocean with friends. How fun to be gardening and pottering with the grandchildren πŸ€—πŸ’•

Fancyqtr nice to see you checking in. Sorry you were sick. Most of us over here have had Covid too. I have not been truly well for a year now due to catching lots of respiratory things and not being able to get on top of asthma. Your shawl looks beautiful.

Marilyn, thank you for posting your quotes. They are often so applicable to what is going on!

Judith, thinking of you and praying for progress with your treatment and healing. Hugs.

    Good Morning All

Thank you so much for everyone’s thoughts concerns and prayers. Yes the past few weeks have been intense with my recovery from the last 2 surgeries but I am trusting God to turn things around and bring complete healing to God’s Glory. I am believing that at the end of my recovery from all these surgeries (5 in all) and the following cancer treatment I will be cancer free to the Glory of God, God is Good!

Susan. So sorry you have come down with a cold, hope you feel better soon. My prayers are with you.

Linda, so glad you are back from the cabin and had a good time in spite of the rainy weather. It’s good to hear your husband is feeling better and was able to sit through the church service.

Marilyn, thank you for the inspiring quotes you share, hope you are feeling better and the kidney stones have all passed with no complications.

Fancyqtr; good to see you here posting, so sorry about your cough and fever that landed you in hospital. So sorry you had Covid but happy you are recovered now, take good care my friend.

Thank you for sharing the picture of your shawl, it’s so pretty, love the color and pattern. Hiking are so gifted. Hope you get the shawl you mentioned you were working on before Covid completed soon. The art classes you mentioned sound great. Keep us posted on all the shawls and classes you take and please share more
    pictures of your work.

Take care all, blessings on your day and week ahead! πŸ™β€οΈπŸ€—

Good to hear from you Judith and to get an update. You mentioned "following cancer treatment". Is that the mouth stretching and related things?

I am praying all of you that have been sick with Covid and respiratory issues will improve quickly. I also pray for Marilyn with kidney and pain issues and Kay with your foot pain. We have had some allergies but nothing of any consequence. A lot of people around us have had colds but so far we have not gotten any. This morning I was sneezing but it was because I was filling my pepper shaker I am pretty sure. 🀣

Our weather remains in the 90's so we stay inside during the hottest part of the day. Our swamp cooler does a great joy keeping the house cool.

Linda, are you in Grand Junction now? Or am I mixing people up? Just wondering because of the weather.

I had my eye appoinntment today for possible glaucoma. My pressures aren't indicitive of glaucoma, but internal views of my eyes are. My one eye that had the hole in the macula has a very thin optic nerve. So she has prescribed the drops for glaucoma to lower the pressure some more to keep that eye from getting worse. I guess to keep the other eye from getting worse, but it isn't looking bad now. I couldn't get the prescription today because they were paving the streets and I couldn't get my truck out and my friend had already dropped me off and left so I had no ride to get it. I hope the streets around here will be opened up by tomorrow. They had every side street in the neighborhood completely closed. Well, I have decided they renamed all the streets around here to "Road Work Ahead."

Susan, When I was here earlier I missed wishing Colin a Happy Birthday πŸŽ‚ so here goes; Birthday Blessings Colin, hope your day was abundantly blessed as you and Susan celebrated your special day together! God’s Blessings πŸ˜ƒπŸŽ‚

Fancyqtr I am so sorry about your eye but am happy your Doctor has a plan in place with the meds to help. Wow, having your whole street closed off to traffic is a tough one. Here’s hoping it’s open tomorrow so you can get your truck out of the driveway and able to get to your pharmacy for your much needed medication. My prayers πŸ™ are with you that both eyes will be restored and healed! πŸ˜‡

Evening Blessings all, hope you enjoy your evening, be back in the morning, God Bless! πŸ˜‡

    Good evening.

Judith, good to see you here. That always makes me think your day isn't going too badly! Just read your update in the prayer request thread. Thank you for that and always for your prayers. Colin and I had a nice day on his birthday. We didn't do too much - went to the shore of the ocean and had fish and chips for lunch. It's what he wanted to do. My respiratory problems have continued for a year next month. I just cannot seem to get over asthma, sinus, bronchitis etc. We think we had Covid in July. This round I had sore throat and headaches as well, almost like allergies. It's nothing compared to what you are going through, my friend. πŸ’•

Marilyn, I hope you are recovering well too. Thank you for your quote.

Linda, glad you have not been too sick. Thank you also for praying for all of us. It's good to know you are staying cool in the heat I know is happening.

Fancyqtr what a great thing NOT to have Glaucoma, but you sure have some challenges with your eyes. I hope you can get your meds soon!
