Linda, forgot to say I use a small dog nail grinder on my boys. It's a quiet dremel and it only takes a small amount off each nail at a time. I got them used to it when they were puppies. Now I rarely have to use nail clippers and they tolerate it well. I found the tool on eBay.

Today we're moving on to Hobart before strong winds pick up, so we're leaving within the hour. Better get moving. I'll try to come back to play games.

Marilyn- I pray that the balloon procedure works with this fistula. I know that the dye that they use for visualization can be hard on the kidneys. After my kidney cancer surgery, they did CT scans with dye to check the kidney. We had to be very careful and do blood work to make sure my kidneys could handle the dye. Near the end of the CT scans, they were able to do it without dye which was much better. I am cheering you on in your weight loss. It will help quite a few of your bodily functions and will make it less painful to walk if you have joint problems. I have been telling my daughter how much better she will feel when she gets some weight off. She needs a knee replacement but they will not do it because she is too young. Knees usually last 20 years which means she would need another one before she gets to 70. They do not want to have to do that.

Susan - the topiary is amazing. I was wondering how they got the shrubbery to do that then I saw that it has a wire support to help. The windmill is very interesting. Is it decorative or is it a working windmill? The fact that your parking place has a stone wall and was a
sheep pen is also interesting. After you go to Hobart to help your friend will you return to this scenic place to explore more?

Judith - The family that is staying at our house are in Grand Junction to check out the college. Their daughter is a junior in high school and looking for the best fit for her college education. We will be going back to Denver on February 15th. Our family event hosted by my son is to have a valentines fondue party. We also have two birthdays to celebrate. The event Glenn and I are hosting will be mid-Summer for the Colorado Renaissance Festival. They have historical dramas, fun games, fancy clothing worn in the medieval era and mock duels. It is very fun but also very hot when I have been there before. Other events are times in the park with playgrounds for the kids.

Linda, you have so many fun events to take part in! Will you dress up in Renaissance clothing? I'd love to see that. I don't know if we will get to stay in Oatlands again though I would like to. The windmill has been restored and powers a working mill. I would love to go through the tour there. We just ran out of time to do things like that. Yes, the secret of Topiary is the wire cages that guide pruners to shape the bush just so. Here's another form of art. This metal sculpture of an Ibis and it's chicks was on top of one of the stone cottages!

    c39bao8iyhka.jpg

Marilyn, that Dye they use makes me very ill. I found out I am allergic to Iodine that way. I hope they do not use it on you.

We're safely in Hobart again and have reconnected with Greg.

Susan - beautiful sculpture of the bird in the nest. If it were a real bird, I'm afraid their tailfeathers would be rather hot when someone used their fireplace. I'm glad you got caught up with your friend Greg. Now on to new adventures. I do not know if I will make a costume for the fair this summer. They see them there but I could make it much cheaper. I will need to think about it for a while.

It was a busy day today with listening to the Denver service on zoom, then an elders meeting on zoom until it was time to go to our church and then a leaders meeting after that. I came home and made pizza from the sourdough crust I made yesterday and some time to catch up here and then some rest and relaxation.

Susan. Safe travels, you mentioned you were moving on quickly to Hobart before the high winds picked up. Hope that worked out for you. I loved all the pictures you took in Oatlands, the Succulent is beautiful, I have always loved Windmills, I really liked the ceiling of the
Supreme Court building, thank you for sharing Looks like it is such a wonderful place to tour.

Marilyn my prayers continue for you. I am also praying for your safety that you won’t need the dye when you have your CT scan.

Linda, I hope you dress up for the Colorado Renaissance Festival you and Glen and you are hosting. Would love to see pictures of you wearing the costumes from that era. All the activities sound like so much fun. Thanks for sharing about the family who are checking out the college for their daughter, it’s good to get a head start and plan ahead, especially to get your name in for good schools. I find that good schools get filled quickly, seems like there is always a long waiting list for most. It’s good to get your name on the list and pay the fees so your place is secured for the coming semester.

Marilyn, I just saw the scripture you shared, thank you for posting it as it’s one of my favourites.

I am so tired, can hardly stay awake do going to head for bed early.

Saying Good Night from me to you and God Bless! Have a good rest, see you tomorrow. 😴

Judith, it's always good when I see you posting. It's morning here so time for my check in!

Thank you for the beautiful Scripture verses, Marilyn and Judith.

Linda, lol about the bird getting a hot tail! Mmmm, sourdough pizza crust would surely be good.

Lyn had her surgery yesterday and was on heavy painkillers but still managed to phone us and talk awhile after recovery. She may be in hospital a day or two or three, but she is determined to rejoin us asap. The Drs say her surgery went well. Thank you to those who prayed for her.

I think we're going to a maritime museum and Mawson's Hut today, if we all ever get organised. It's a cool day so the dogs will be OK in the vans for a couple of hours.

Thank you Susan for your kindness and for the update on your friend Lyn, so happy she came through the surgery and her Doctors said her surgery went well! Amazing in spite of the heavy pain killers she was able to phone you and talk to you for a while.

Sounds like a great day of visiting the Maritime Museum and Mawsons Hut, hope you can take some pictures, look forward to hearing all about your tours. Safe Travels Susan! 🙏

Marilyn, thinking of you and praying for you. 🙏

Linda, look forward to hearing all about you and Glen hosting the Colorado Renaissance Festival. I think I read somewhere you were not sure if you were making your costume this time. Is there a place you can buy one? Take care and safe
    travels! 🙏

Have a great evening all. Be back tomorrow! 😊

My husband said we have been so busy, he is taking the day off today. It was a little strange seeing him in his heavy winter coat and hat sitting out on the patio in the swing. He loves to be out in nature although nature (trees and birds) are pretty quiet right now. A few years ago when we were both working, we did not have a choice of just taking the day off to rest. I am glad we are in the time in our lives that we are free to choose what we can or can not do.

I wrote the above yesterday but forgot to finish and post the message. The weather warmed up in the afternoon so he was not wearing his coat and hat in the afternoon. I got up to almost 60 and it felt like Spring was here. I know that is not true but I will enjoy it while we have it. Today will be similar weather with bright sunshine. I see it will be raining and sleeting on the weekend so we will be back to our usual colder temperature.

We went out with our friends to eat for lunch to day. We ate half our lunch and brought the other half back to eat later. I is amazing how many calories are in just a salad. Even without the dressing, it seems higher than I would expect. Of course it is more than just lettuce which would be a lot less calories.

I have a webinar to attend soon so I need to get off now. Have a great day!

That sounds like such a good day, Linda. I'm glad Glen chose to rest and soak in some nature. You were wise about your restaurant meal too. I hope the rest of your day goes beautifully.

Judith, I didn't go with Colin and Greg yesterday. I looked after our three dogs at rhe van instead. When Lyn gets back, we may go see one of those places the men saw yesterday. She is going from strength to strength and is being discharged from hospital today. She will book her flight back here soon. We will have to move on from Hobart this Sunday so we'll see what happens.

    Thinking of you, Marilyn.

I need to find someone to look at my ear today. I suddenly lost hearing in it a few days ago and it is singing all the time. It makes me feel off balance too. A bit of a mystery. It's usually my 'best' ear. I hope I can get my hearing back. So no sight seeing today.

There was torrential rain in our Qld Village yesterday but our house is safe and dry. The River and roads and local shopping centre flooded.

Linda, always nice to take a day off, glad you enjoyed.

Susan, so sorry about your hearing, hope you can get it checked out and your hearing comes back. Praying for you…

Good Night, be back in the morning! 🙏❤️

I did find a Dr yesterday. The problem isn't wax, but it is a blocked Eustachian tube making my eardrum bulge from inside! No wonder I cannot hear. I think it built up slowly and I thought it was a wax buildup. My ears are super clean from that point of view, as I have been using wax softeners! So now I have steroids and antihistamines and licence to have hot, steamy showers without the fan on! It will take some time to clear but hopefully there won't be any long lasting damage. The Dr seemed confident that I would be OK. She blamed it on Tassie's dry climate (low humidity). In Canoolture humidity is high. I don't seem to function as well in the dry!

Susan on steroids is always a bit hazardous to those around her though. Lol!

    Judith, thank you for praying.

I'm not sure what the plans for today are. Lyn flies back tomorrow night though. She is feeling like a new woman!

Susan- very pretty night clouds. I am glad you found out what was wrong with your ears. I pray that the medication and hot showers will help you. I am glad that Lyn is coming back and feels like a "new woman". Either she heals very fast or her surgery was not major. I'm glad she will be able to join you soon. Your flooding pictures are amazing. I know the cleanup with take quite a while. I am glad it has not affected where your house is. We had a major flood a few years back they called the "100 year flood" at the facility I was working at. It ruined all the furnature, walls, charts that were on the first floor. It took a year to get it back to normal. My Dad was there in the assisted living at the time and he was transfered to another assisted living in town which was not as convenient as having him in the same building as I was in working.

Susan, I am so glad you got to see the Doctor and he was able to tell you what was wrong. I really hope the hot showers and medication help you and your hearing comes back 100%. My prayers continue. I was shocked when I viewed the flooding but so relieved the flooding did not affect your home. I know what flood waters can do as I rejoice with you that your house and property was safe. I too am thankful I didn’t have any flooding in my area. And we all our safe here.

Linda, that must of been so scary seeing all the floodwaters and having to move your dear Dad out of where he was living and be moved into another assisted living place, that had of been so traumatic for everyone involved. How did your Dad do in the move with being uprooted in the place he only knew. Hope he did well!

Will say Good Night and God Bless 😴 Be back tomorrow… Take Care 🙏❤️😊

Judith - My Dad did OK because the staff from assisted living went to the other facility with everyone that moved so he was surrounded by his friends. It was hard though because I could not see him every day like he was used to because I could not go to the facility every day. He did decline physically during that year just from getting older (he was 96 years old) and when our facility finally rebuilt and the residents could come back, they told me he had declined enough that he did not qualify for assisted living. We had to put him in the long term section which broke my heart and his. He died a week later I think partly of sadness of his loss of independence and all his friends. It was a shock to see how this move affected him emotionally. ON a happier note, I see your are gaining weight! Yea team Judith!!!

I did not sleep well last night but had to get up early (to me) because we had a meeting and they were comming before they were going to work. I was so tired, I went back to bed for another two hours which really helped my tiredness. Now I feel like I am having to catch up because I ama gett ing a late start. Being retired does help in these situations when I need more rest. We onoy have one more week of the 40 days of prayer which has been really nice but very tiring too. I had had to keep my house clean for people to come over to join me. It is easier for them to come here and use my computer because they do not have a big computer screen and their speakers are not working well.

Susan - I pray your ear is feeling better with the medication and that your hearing will be back to normal soon.

Linda, I was so sad to read about the flood and how it all contributed to your dear father's decline. That would have been so very hard. Sending virtual hugs. I can also understand about the commitment of a 40 day prayer group would be exhausting. Glad you can rest when needed. Take care of you, my friend. Thank you for praying for me.

Marilyn, that's scriptural for sure. Getting wisdom and understanding is the principle thing. And sometimes that process is difficult and shocking, but it's for our ultimate good.

Judith, I am glad to hear your weight is going up! I am cheering for you, too! 💜 Yes, it is a blessing that neither of our homes were flood affected. Thank you for praying for me, too.

I pray for all of you daily. 🙏

My ear has not changed yet but the medication makes me feel better so it isn't so depressing to be half deaf. It is making me have a greater understanding of my husband's deafness. He lost hearing in his left ear after an accident when he was in his 20s. He can't even sense vibration in it as the surgeon had to remove his eardrum, anvil and stirrup. So there's a usefulness to this temporary deafness of mine. It's also sometimes ab advantage to be able to lay on my good ear and block pout sound so I can sleep! The wind here was so strong last night but I didn't hear much of it, just felt the rocking of the van...

Susan - It is good that you can find good things about your ear. Having compassion of others is so good. I have gotten frustrated with my husband's needing the TV turned on so high so he can hear but have noticed that I miss hearing some of what he says and he is patient with me. It is convicting for sure.

Judith - I hope you are getting the rest you need. Prayers continue for you.

Marilyn - great proverb to remember

It is rainy here today and overcast. The forecast says showers all day on and off and maybe sleet tomorrow. We do need the rain very badly so we will take what we can get.

Marilyn, thank you so much for sharing this Scripture for today. God’s Word is so precious. I continue to keep you in prayer my friend! 🙏

Linda, thank you for sharing, Acknowledging that it couldn’t have been easy sharing that part of the account, my heart goes out to you, I can understand it would be hard for you seeing your Dad’s health decline and having to move into the long term care section. Sending my love & hugs to you. I understand about you being tired with everyone coming to your place during the 40 day Prayer, it was a commitment making your home available but happy you were able to rest when you needed. Thank you for your prayers and for cheering me on with my improvement on my weight. The few ounces I gained I have maintained it and my weight of 94.8 pounds has stayed the same last 2 days. No loss of weight this week, so happy. Yay Me! 👍

Susan, the wind storm sounded so scary especially with the van rocking back and forth. That would of made me nauseous and probably dizzy. Please stay safe my friend, hope the winds have calmed down. I am so sorry your hearing has not come back. Hopefully as you continue to take your meds there will be improvement. Thank you for your prayers and for cheering me on with my good results of my current weight. No loses this week. Maintained 94.8 pounds last few days! Yay Me 👍

Have a great evening all.. Be back in the morning! God Bless you all! ❤️🙏

Good morning, friends. It's a clear but blustery day here so even though it is supposed to get hotter, it will still not feel hotter. Lyn and Greg want to go to the Salamanca Markets this morning but we went Christmas week (remember the all Trombone band?) so we aren't as keen to go. We may follow later. We have to leave tomorrow ahead of Lyn and Greg to get our washing machine replaced on Monday, early, in Launceston, so we have things to get ready today. We are all going out to dinner together tonight.

Archie jumped up on my lap after rolling in dry grass and covered me with it as well. I just picked a whole lot of little pieces out of both of us. Sigh. If he didn't get so darn happy rolling in the grass, I would be madder. He's such an enjoyer of life. 🙂

    Picked out grass pile

    2qwkg5z90cg3.jpg

Judith, the wind could be scary, but we were safe. Even though the van moved a little it was pretty firmly anchored as we have a dual Axel van plus stabiliser legs on all four corners. We were fine. We did get a curtain tie belonging to the curtains on the door sucked out when we opened the door. We couldn't find it! It is probably in the upper stratosphere by now! Lol! I'll have to make a new one whenever we get home. I was so glad to hear you are maintaining your weight! Yay you for sure!

Linda, I 'hear' you about having compassion on our husbands. The same thing happens with Colin and I as it does with you and Glen. It's a challenge for sure. The Lord knows what we need. I must need this lesson a little longer as I am still singing deaf today.

Marilyn, yes, positivity helps! I was glad to read that you are maintaining your exercise goals 🙂

    Till tomorrow.

All is well, but a bit tired - vivid dreams kept waking me up - they were so unpleasant. Think I am going to take a morning nap now.
Need to put some itch cream on me feet as they are bothering me - when the kidneys don't work well the itchy starts and boy does it get bad - my poor arms and stomach are marked up from scratching when sleeping.

Marilyn - I am sorry that you are so itchy! There are days that this dry arid weather drys out my skin so much I also scratch marks on my back. The doctor told me that I was taking too many hot showers. He said to take a shower every other day with lukewarm water. We also use soap that is very mild and has oils in it. I also have Glenn put lotion on my back when it gets bad. The lotion smells really bad (like amonia) because it is hypoalergenic and unscented but it does the job. He suggested to it to all his customers when they asked for his pharmacutical advice.

Susan - i'm sorry you have to get a new washing machine. It seems this has been an expensive trip replacing or repairing things. Maybe your washer is very small and it is used more than mine is in the house. I hope you have some matching material for your door curtain when you get home. I would hate for you to have non matching ties. 😊 Actually it would bother me a lot and I would have to make two new ones so they would match if it were me. I have a hard time with things that do not have symmetry. I have gotten worse as time goes on. Some clothes the young people wear with one side with no sleeve and the other one with a long sleeve, uneven hems, colors and patterns that do not match, etc. Grrrrr I am turning into a grumpy old lady. I certainly do not say anything to them but it is hard to not miss.

I am repotting jade plants this weekend to give some away to people in the church. When I trim my big plant I hate to throw away the cut off parts so I put them in a pot and then I have way too many to fit into my window. I also have a aloe vera plant that I am giving away. When we moved, I accidently broke off a piece of my big plant so I potted it out of guilt and now it is a big plant. I am glad that others can get some use out of my guilt. Oh dear, now I am a guilty and grumpy old lady. I need to work on my gratitude list! Making this list helps me be more positive. ✨ I am exagerating on my mood swings. I have been so blessed during my lifetime! There have been good times and hard times but I have survived and been victorious with the help of God.

Linda, you seem the farthest from a grumpy guilty lady! I know what you mean about internal dialogue though, and also about needing symmetry. I also will probably make two matching ties, unless I replace the door curtains altogether! Lol! In the meantime, it is bothering me to only have ONE tie back!

Marilyn, sorry to hear about the itchiness too. It seems dry weather affects all of us. My clogged ear is a result of dry weather, according to the Dr. I hope it decides to pop soon.

We drove to Oatlands this morning and are parked up here, still hitched to make a quick getaway in the morning. We're getting our washing machine replaced in Launceston. It's a 3.5kg one, and fortunately insurance will cover nearly all of its cost. This is our campsite.

    wnii0rpjebrn.jpg

We explored the old flour mill that was worked by the windmill I mentioned before. It's very well done. There was a Miller's Cottage and stables on site too.

Marilyn, so sorry about your itchy feet, hope the lotion helps moisturize your feet. So happy I saw Susan’s comment that you are maintaining your exercise goals. Yay Marilyn! Keep up the great work! I cheer you on! Yes, let us all Keep the Sparkle ❇️ and Shine On 💖

Susan, glad to hear your Van was secure and you were safe. I read in your weather report from today you were having gusty winds; hope the winds calm down! Sorry about your Door Curtains blowing away, hope you can find matching material to make new when you are back home. I love the pictures of the windmill outside and inside, windmills have always been my favorite, I have coasters and a cake plate with Windmills as the pattern! The horse drawn carriage was beautiful, do they take tourist on rides around the property? Safe travels as you head into town for your new washing machine, hope you can find the one you like and happy insurance is paying for it, great news!

Linda, I join with Susan, you are not a grumpy old lady, you are beautiful, always encouraging others, yes I am one recipient of many who regularly receive encouraging and uplifting words from you in which I thank God! I do know what you mean about the young people today wearing such bizarre clothing, pants sitting above their buttocks and cut out sleeves, I could go on and on but you get the picture. But what really bothers me is young gals attending Church in plunging neck line tops, it is embarrassing, you would think they would be convicted going into the House of God dressed like that. One time our usher asked the girl to cover up. After confronting her a few times she wore a jacket or sweater but it doesn’t really solve the real problem! Oh boy I best stop I am really critical now. So sorry ladies!

Before I close, how is your daughter doing Linda, how’s her recovery? My prayers are ongoing. Trust she is doing well.

May your Sunday Services be Blessed and you
have a wonderful day with all your family.

I am tired and plan to head to bed early. So will say Good Night Blessings and God Bless! 😴🙏
