Hello Judith and Marilyn! Happy Lord’s Day to you and to Linda.

Judith, I am so glad you enjoyed the windmill. It was a beauty. We will be getting exactly the same washer that we had, as it will fit in the space. It may have a clear lid instead of an opaque one, the repairman told us. 🤔 It doesn't matter, as long as it works! Lol!

Got to speak with our old Pastor on the phone yesterday. It was so nice! He is visiting Australia for 6 months. He lives in Chesapeake, VA.

Susan - I am so glad that insurance covers your washer. They can get really expensive with all their fancy buttons and choices. Mine is pretty small for the area we have and I am in control of what it does. I do not like my washer to make decisions for me so it does what I tell it to do. I love the windmill pictures. It is a lot taller than I thought from your prior pictures. I'm glad you got to speak with your pastor on the phone. It is good to keep up those friendships even if we move apart from each other.

Judith - My daughter is doing well. She is allowed to eat soft foods now and 6 small meals a day with liquids in between. She has to chew all her food multiple times so it is almost liquid before swallowing it. She enjoys being able to eat food that has some texture to it. Thank you for saying that I am not a grumpy old lady. I pray that I am not but some days when I hurt, it is easy to become frustrated with things. I agree with you about the dressing of some girls in churches. We have one college student who has quite a few tatoos of skulls and things and today was wearing all black with black lipstick. Her shorts were rather short too. The minister's wife has been talking to her about proper attire for church.

I delivered my plants today to the people in church so I have more room now to repot more and then I will need to give more away. I am creating my own problems by repotting more I know but I feel sorry for plants with cramped root systems. We have thought about building a bay window so I have more room for plants but I think I would have the same problem with more and more plants. If we did that, we would need to remove some shrubbery so it will be a dream for a while if we do it at all.

We went to a funeral of a friend that I grew up with in Ohio. He moved to Colorado after high school to go the same Bible college I went to here in Grand Junction. I lost track of him with our moving so much earlier in our marriage but reconnected with him and his wife this past couple of years. He had had surgery and was scheduled to go to the rehab floor but had a heart attack and died that same day. His wife was in the hospital at the same time with a reoccurrance of ovarian cancer and is having chemotherapy again for it. She has a very supportive family but she has a lot to deal with. The funeral was a time of rejoicing that he is no longer in pain and many shared memories of fun times they had together. We had to leave early to go to our church so we will go see his wife this week if we can do it.

Marilyn - this is a great thought. I hope you are doing well. Taking care of Priscilla must be difficult when she does not feel well.

Today I am cleaning out my closet "mess" in the guest room. It has left over blankets, pillows, wrapping paper, etc I have bedspreads for beds we do not have any more so I am getting a load ready to take to the ARC. I hope someone else will be able to use them. I am feeling a sense of accomplishment in getting this done. We have some rather large pieces of furnature in here too that I want to get rid of and get smaller ones to have more room for the guests. I also am going through my material and getting rid of the material I will never use like stretchy denim prople hazve given to me for my quilt. The stretchiness is not conducive to making perfect squares. I save material with good intentions but not good usage of the material. Maybe someone else can get some use our of it.

Linda, you are taking time and putting effort into making your home more comfortable and better for those who come see you. That's so good. And clearing your stash will help you make projects with more focus. I agree with you about the stretchy denim and quilting just not being a match. It was good to hear how your daughter is doing. I hope her recovery is steady and she feels better for having done that surgery.

Marilyn, I love that thought about prayer. Thank you.

    Judith, praying for you.

Our washing machine has been replaced. We had no choice in its type. There is only one brand that would fit in the space, and the insurance company replaces new for old but like for like.

    Good Morning All,

Amen Marilyn, thank you for sharing and yes Prayers should be Key in Morning and in the Evening! Hugs and my Prayers are always with you! 🙏🤗

Linda, Thank you for letting me know how your daughter is doing. So happy she is eating solids. Praying she continue to do well in her recovery and like Susan said will be so happy she had the surgery! I am so sorry for your loss in the recent passing of your dear friend, but I am rejoicing also that he is in Heaven with Jesus free from all pain! My prayers are with your friend, that she will be filled with God’s Comfort and Peace during this difficult time. And for her recovery from surgery and now undergoing treatment. So glad you were able to give some of your plants away, you are so kind in trying to find ways to make your home more comfortable for those who come to stay in your home.

Susan, love your new washing machine, the blue lid is so nice, cheery looking for when you do your laundry. It is so nice the Insurance company is covering the costs. So happy for you as new appliances can be so expensive especially here in BC! The cost of living has gone up in everything here, our food, mortgages, rents, taxes and anything else in between. The produce is over the top in exorbitant prices; we have to watch for sales and chose our veggies according to what is more reasonable in price! I don’t know how the older folks and for that matter anyone on a fixed income can afford fresh produce. Hope your prices are not as high over in your part of the world but have a feeling it probably is as prices are on the rise no matter where we live! 😕

Thank you all for your prayers. I signed in and came here briefly over weekend to post the Devotions and Bible Reading, and posted my daily weight and goals but got behind on other things especially here in Chat Cafe! I was dealing with fatigue and sore mouth and face, guess it made me sleepy. I was so happy I had brought my weight up to 95 pounds but over weekend my weight went down to 94.8 pounds, thinking I lost water weight, was retaining excess fluid! No worries, I am working hard on it and will reach 95 pounds again soon! 😊 Good Night all! It’s nearing 1:00am Tuesday morning here…

Judith so glad to hear from you - know that I have you in my prayers. Am praying for your health issues and that you may put on the weight you need to put on - must be as difficult as it is for us who have to lose it. But God is good, He loves us and is with us always.

Went to my TOPS meeting today - lost 1 pound so am now at 237.8 Am right on plan, now to keep that 1 pound off and work on the next 1 - 2 pounds for next Tuesday

    Matthew 21:32
And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith

Judith, it's good to hear from you whenever you are able. Yes, prices are definitely on the rise here for everything you mentioned. It would have cost us $1200 to replace our machine but insurance covered all but $71.50 of it. That was a blessing. I paid $5.20 for a smaller than average stick of butter yesterday. A large butter was close to $9. We didn’t look at vegetables. Glad you are determined to keep your weight up. Do you have any vegetables or fruit growing in your garden?

We're moving to Primrose Sands today so I am needing to go. We have to get there before lunch or may lose our spot.

It is good to hear from you Judith. Rest is a good thing when you are still healing.

Marilyn - congratulations on loosing weight. I will go to my TOPS meeting on Thursday to check it out to see if it can help me too.

Susan - That is a huge price to pay for butter! Is it a whole pound? We pay $3.98 for a pound of butter. I find that frozen vegetables are sometimes cheaper than the fresh ones if I am going to cook them. I am so glad that you did not have to pay much for the washing machine.

Today is overcast and windy. It matches my mood today. Not only did I loose my friend from high school, one of our fellow elders/pastors father died (I did not know him as well but had met him and he was so friendly to me) and today I heard that one of the most talented people in our music ministry was killed by a drunken driver. He was picking up his children when he was hit. The children are stable in a pediatric intensive care unit. He was such a blessing to all of us - freely giving his talent to everyone. I know that I will see these people in heaven but for today I am being human and grieving these losses of mine as well as the families that are left behind. God will use these things for His glory I know.

Linda, I am so sorry to hear of the dear Father who was killed after picking up his children from school, will keep these children in prayer for a complete recovery and healing! So sorry for your loss and for all the families. My heart goes out to all of you. You have my prayers.

Marilyn, Congratulations on your weight loss, good job, keep up the fantastic work. So glad you are finding Tops a help to you. As always thank you for your inspirational quotes and the Scripture s you share, I really liked the Scripture today from
    Matthew. God Bless you.

Susan, I am so happy your Insurance covered almost all the cost for your new machines. Reading the costs of butter is unbelievable especially compared to what Linda pays. Our butter is pricey too close to what you pay Susan and fresh produces is expensive too. Right now we are still in the winter seasons so no veggies growing in my garden. In the Spring I will start getting my soil ready for planting. I have daffodils, tulips and crocus that come up each year. Late Spring I start planting my garden. This year I will do Tomatoes, thinking of maybe planting squash or broccoli and also plant a variety of Herbs.

Safe travels to Primrose Sands, hope you enjoy this new place.

Have a great day all. God Bless you…🙏🤗

Marilyn - I am going out to lunch with a friend who has congestive heart failure, diabetes and stage 2 kidney failure. She is certainly not careful about what she eats and refused to go for nutritional counseling because it cost too much. Now she says she needs to be more careful as she is getting scared. The doctor said she "could" live for 5 years so she is depressed about not having a future. I am hoping to share with her some encouraging scriptures about caring for her body and also that our futures are in God's hands not the doctors and she may have many more years if she cares for her body. I am going to use you as an example of careful eating and holding off what the doctor had told you about dialysis.

Judith - thanks for the prayers for the family that lost their Father. It is indeed a sad situation. The wife has been struggling with her beliefs so I pray that this will help her desire to get closer to God for comfort. Please continue to pray for especially her and her faith struggles. She really does need God right now.

Oh Linda, how hard to lose three people you care about all at once. Praying for those things you asked for and for you too. Even Jesus wept at Lazarus' death. And He was divine. Tears are a tribute to love ❤️

The butter weighed a little less than a pound.

Judith, so glad you are planting vegetables and herbs in your garden. Home grown is so tasty and nutritious and fresh.

    Marilyn, love that saying today.

We're set up at Primrose Sands and are off exploring a lavender farm today.

Devil's Kitchen is around the point. This is the back of the Tasman Arch. Greg walked to the Devil's Kitchen. I stayed in the car with the three dogs while Lyn and Colin went to the Arch. It's National Park here. No dogs allowed. I did take these photos:

Thanks for the pictures. The Tessalated Pavement and blowhole look very interesting.

Yesterday we had soft hail as we were driving. It looked like tiny snowballs being thrown at us. Today was overcast with a few breakthroughs of the sunshine. We are finishing our 40 days of prayer tomorrow with a day of fasting then meeting at 6pm to have our final praying and eating dinnert together. Rather than a potluch, we are binging our own dinners with drinks and desserts provided. It has been a long series of days but very blessed. We will start the book "Experiencing God" nexr as a church. It will last for 24 weeks. I washed all the windowsills today as well as mopped the floors. Next week we will be gone for Tuesday through Thursday for Valentine's day. We are going to Ouray, Coloroado where we went 50 years ago for our honeymoon. They have some really nice hot springs we will be enjoying. I will try to check in as I can because I want to keep my streak up.

Marilyn, both Scriptures you shared were such a blessing, thank you.

Linda, thank you for sharing and asking me to pray that this dear friend who is grieving the recent loss of her husband and struggling with her faith and walk with the Lord! Will pray she draw closer to Jesus through this difficult time! Please keep me posted on his she is doing.

How exciting to be travelling the same area you spent your Honeymoon 50 years ago! Such a special Valentines Day week for you both! It will be wonderful to see the Hot Springs. Wow, you said you had hail yesterday, so glad your weather is better today. Nice way to finish your 40 Days of prayer with day of Fasting then finishing up with a nice dinner and fellowship. Your next Session Experiencing God with the Book for the next 24 weeks sounds like it will be so good. Keep us posted Linda how the Study is going.

Susan, the pictures are spectacular. It’s wonderful seeing the places you are sightseeing, makes me feel like I am travelling along with you. Loved the Tasman Arch, so beautiful! Blow Hole very interesting, great picture you shared. So glad you are settled and have a nice place to camp at Primrose Sands, sightseeing a Lavender Farm is so nice, I can almost smell the Lavender! I have Lavender Essential Oil and diffuse it often. So soothing and smells so lovely. You mentioned about my plans for my garden this Spring and Summer; I am going to plant Carrots and broccoli and freeze them for making soup I can pureed! I will grow Tomatoes and some Herbs. The garden won’t be planted until middle of Spring Season.

Safe travels Susan and Linda as you both are travelling in various areas enjoying the places you tour and sight see! God bless you all! My thoughts and prayers are with you! 🙏❤️🤗

Marilyn - I need to say this every night when I have problems getting to sleep. I have problems shutting off my mind.

Susan - when you went to the lavender farm, did they have products you could buy? We have a lavender festival that lasts over a three day weekend in the Summer. It is amazing how may things lavender can be put into besides essential oils and soaps. For some reason, lavender is not my favorite scent. I can;t remember what happened but I remember being at my grandmother's house and she had lavender in a little cone shaped woven basket hanging up in her window. It may have been that my cousins all said it smelled bad so I believed them or something else but all I remember is the little basket and not liking lavender after that.

Judith - good to be seeing you post. I am looking forward to planting things in our garden this Summer. The tomatoes expecially taste so much better than from the store and was said earlier this week, vegetables are getting really expensive to buy.

It is snowing on and off today with little flakes. The roads are just wet but there is still snow on the shrubbery and grass. Every little bit of moisture is appreciated here in our low humidity area. We still need lots of snow in the mountians where we get our water in the Summer.

Glad you enjoyed the pictures, Linda and Judith. Yes, the Lavender Farm had Lavender in all sorts of edible products - cookies, tea, jam, chocolate (dark, milk and white), candy, spices, chutney, then there were heat pillows, eye sachets, teddy bears, handmade paper, oils, diffusers, candles, and that's just what I can remember!

Linda, your Valentine Day trip sounds very special indeed! Congratulations on 50 years of marriage! That's just wonderful. Enjoy your meal with the 40 day prayer group. 🙏

Judith, glad you will have fresh vegetables to make into soup! Yay!

We're moving to Bicheno today. I need to stop writing and start getting ready.

I'll leave you with some unnamed wildflowers I saw yesterday at the Tessalated Pavement.

    Good Morning All

I came back, not tired like I thought, as I said in above post Linda was sorry you were put off with the smell of Lavender! Wonder if you tried it in some of the items Susan mentioned? Maybe you would like it as an edible?

Read above and in your Weather post it had been snowing there.. Hope it clears up soon for you.

Yes I agree vegetables are becoming so expensive to buy. So planting veggies in my garden seems like a better option!

Susan, the wild flowers are gorgeous, colours are so striking! You are seeing such beautiful scenery and flowers and so much more. Thank you for sharing the pictures.

Marilyn, thank you for sharing the inspirational quotes and scriptures.

Thanks all for your kindness. Will be back later today as I posted in all the threads late last night. It’s now 12:21am Saturday morning and now I am tired. See you later today! God Bless you 😴🙏

P.S. Just checked after I posted in all the threads for Saturday and there are no new threads posted here in Chat Cafe so will come back later tonight or early Sunday morning to reply to all your posts! God Bless you all! 😊

Susan - your plant looks like what we call a "Red Hot Poker" plant. Wikipedia says: Kniphofia is a genus of perennial flowering plants in the family Asphodelaceae, first described as a genus in 1794. The species are native to Africa. Common names include tritoma, red hot poker, torch lily and poker plant.

Judith I was up at the same time you were. I was planning to start getting up earlier so I can get up and enjoy the day on our little trip. But -- I got involved in putting together a jig saw puzzle that I have been working on for several months and did not realize it was 2am when I quit. I went to bed but could not get to sleep so I got up at 3:30am and made yogurt and cleaned the stainless steal appliances in the kitchen. I got back to bed at 5am so that really messed up my sleep time and wake time for getting up. I told my husband maybe I need to stay up all night until I am so tired I can not stand it then I will be happy to go to bed at a "normal time". I know it does not work to go to bed earlier each night for me so I can get up earlier! I just lay in bed because I am not tired.

Today is a beautiful day with bright sunshine. It is a good day to take a walk . I hope you have a blessed weekend.

Well, we didn't get to Bicheno after all! There were no spaces available in any caravan park there, so we set our sights on Scamander instead. Our GPS took us inland instead of along the East Coast so we didn't even get to drive through Bicheno.

Scamander looks lovely but today is a clean up day. We have power, water, grey water and a dump point for the next couple of days so are washing clothes, towels, linen, the caravan floors, ourselves and the dogs.

The new washing machine is working fine although there were little beads of Styrofoam that 'graced' the first load. It was part of the packaging that was hidden till the machine was full of water.

We might explore the town and surrounds a bit tomorrow.

Linda, you are right! I since found out about the Red Hot Poker plant and it's African origins. In some states here it is considered a weed. It OK in Tassie so far. So sorry you have been having trouble sleeping lately. I believe your suggested approach to re- setting your Circadian rythmn is actually recommended by sleep hygienists, but I think they suggest doing it over a week or two, going to bed an hour later each night until you reach your desired bed time.

Judith, sorry you had trouble sleeping too but glad you were able to go to sleep eventually. I see how you posted in all the threads! You were productive with your time.

    Sorry, we have a visitor....

I want to wish Marilyn a very happy physical and spiritual birthday today. 🎈✨🎁 It is midnight and I am trying to get to bed early. We have house church at our house in the afternoon and then people are bringing appetizers and will watch the superbowl. I do not follow the sports teams so I do not have a favorite to want to win. I will probably just watch the commercials although last year they were not very good.

Hopefully I will come back later and have a great report of a great sleep. 😴😌

Happy Birthday, Marilyn! 🎈 🎉🎈May your day be blessed!

Linda, enjoy your social time. And sweet dreams.

I had a few hours on my own today while the others went fishing. Loved it. Tomorrow we move on to either St Helen's or the Bay of Fires. We plan to spend a couple of days at each place.
