Yes, then they could not pay their rent.

That would be very sad it they could not pay their rent. I would hate to hear them "rant" about how horrible it was to not have enough money.
RANT

yes Linda, it would be horrible to rant due to not enough money. And you are right Susan, they couldn’t pay their rent, so sad 😞 I can almost hear my Grandma say Oh Rats they couldn’t pay their rent.
RATS

Yes, having vats of money would possibly solve the problem, but I don't know how they could find such things?
VATS

Judith - that was a funny saying your grandma said. I have heard that said but not for a long time. Having vats of money will not get rid of rodents. You need "cats" to get rid of the rats.
CATS

Yes Susan Vats of Money can help in some situations, however Linda you are correct, Cats are the only ones who get rid of Rats, But cats will get rid of Rats but they need extra Pats as they need mega Love!
PATS

Yes, cats need pats to be rewarded for catching the rats. They would not appreciate vats of money. We vould buy cat food for them with the money though, and maybe a few hats for us if we are going to be out in the sun.
HATS

Yes Susan, the money would be a great help to buy cat food for the cats who are catching the rats in our communities. And yes we do need Hats when out in the sunshine! Maybe some Mats to use for sitting on to pad up the hard plastic chairs that are provided for us in the parks.
MATS

Mats for the hard chairs is wonderful and hats to protect our hair and delicate completion from the sun. We do not want to sit near the baseball game either. The players are known to get excited and throw their "bats" when they hit a home run.
BATS

I wouldn't want to get in the way of all the bits and activity of a baseball game. Let's sit at a safe distance.
BITS

Getting "hits" in the head by a baseball can cause a lot of damage. I was hit in the left eye by a baseball hit by my brother when I was in grade school. It made my optic nerve swell and my eyesight was affected. That was pretty scary.

Yes Susan we don’t want to get in the way of the Bits of Activity of a Baseball game, we want to be safe. I hear you Linda, getting “Hits” in the head with a baseball can cause a lot of damage, I have heard of some loosing their sight, a scary thing. When at a Baseball game it’s wise to carry First aide Kits with you…
KITS

I'll tick that off my list. I have a first aid kit to bring to the game.
TICK

Susan that is good to hear that you ticked it off your list! And thanks for bringing a first aide kit! Attending large events like a baseball game I always add Tylenol and aspirin and add it to my first aide kit, some people get Sick with bad headaches and upset tummy’s. So it’s good to have extra things in the first aide kits to treat whatever ailment comes up.

Judith should we wear our nursing uniforms so people know when we use the first aide kit we know what we are doing? I do not want to appear to be a country "hick" pretending to be part of a medical team.
HICK

Now that would be a kick in the pants for you be taken for country hicks when you two are bona fide nurses! Yes, wearing uniforms would be a good idea. I can bring my first aid certificate in a frame to display and just assist you two.
KICK

Yes Susan, it would be a Kick in the pants, but I like your plan; and yes, Linda and I will wear our Uniforms and you can bring your First Aide Certificate. There will be No Country Hicks in our Community! 😀 so Linda and I shall Pick out our Best Uniforms and white leather Oxford shoes to wear!

Yes, white uniforms and white leather Oxfords shoes. How about the white stockings? We must not get a "nick" in them or they will have runners in them. Don't forget your cap with the stripes on it. My stripe is burgundy - what was your color?

My Hospital: St Peter's Hospital Nursing School had white nursing caps for its students, as white was the standard color for nurses' caps across the profession, symbolizing purity, service, and hygiene.
Why white caps were standard:
- Symbolism: The color white was associated with purity, cleanliness, and chastity, reflecting the monastic origins of nursing.
- Hygiene: Caps helped keep long hair out of the way, which was seen as more sanitary.
- Professionalism: They were a status symbol, awarded to students after reaching certain milestones or graduation, and were central to the socialization process for new nurses.
- The cap evolved from the veils worn by early Christian women, such as deaconesses, who worked to care for the sick.
I will delete this later but thought you gals would get a chuckle out of why my Nursing School wore “All White”
We also had different Coloured Stripes to represent our Status, 1st, 2nd and 3rd year Nursing Students. 1st year Students had white caps with one white stripe. Our Nursing School was in a Hospital that Specialized in Rehabilitation and Extended Care (Dementia)and we also had Colored Stripes. I remember having a Green Stripe on my cap that was the hospital colors!

That's interesting about nurses' caps. Judith. I don't think I have ever read about them before! Don't delete it, OK?
Yes, Linda, don't get a nick in your stockings (we call them tights). It would spoil your professional image. Then the sick would pick someone without nicks. That would make me bend my neck in sorrow.

Although the caps were white to symbolize purity and cleanliness, they found that they were not washed as often as our uniforms were and they carried germs that could spread to the patients. Nurses now wear colored as well as patterned uniforms so it is hard to distinguish the nursing staff from the CNA staff if you can not see their name tags. Without a hierarchy of authority (doctor over nurse over CNA, etc) there is no "peck" in the pecking order.

Yes Linda, it was brought up in our Nursing school’s here. In Canada there are no more caps, no white uniforms, although some older nurses still wear white uniforms but it’s few and far between. All the Nurses here in BC wear scrubs, usually Light Green or light blue. Nurses caps are now sitting in attics wrapped in tissue, no one has the heart to throw away the Cap….😢
Something else that is sad, when Nurses graduated way back they had a Pinning and Cap ceremony when the Nurses received their Pin and Cap. The ceremony was intimate, at your Nursing School with your Friends and your Nursing Instructors, Family and Friends, yes it was a big deal, after all the your hard work you were presented with your Pin and Cap, of course you had earned your Black Band (from Nursing Student to a Registered Nurse.
I hear you about Pecking order….anyway I still love white and would still “Pick” a white uniform….not correct word but it fits! 😆

It is sad that people had to.pack away their caps. But I understand why it was a good idea. Over here nurses.often wear washable or disposable shower cap type headgear in surgery.
PACK

I remember the pinning and capping ceremony very well. It was a great honor. If felt I made a formal "pact" with my instructors, my future patients and God that I would uphold the honor of my profession.
PACT

Amen Linda I so agree, it did feel like we made a Pact with our Instructors, and Yes Susan it was sad 😢 that we had to Pack our Caps away! Hind sight, it was for the Best to Protect our Patients! My Caps will never be forgotten!

There are obviously no gaps in your ethics, Judith and Linda. I am glad you both had that experience with starting your nursing professions.
