Good morning folks, 2 loads of laundry done and put away ( YES @Dianedoessmiles1 I LOVE doing LAUNDRY) and would come do yours if the plane fares were more reasonable !! I'll even iron anything you need ironed LOL Mushroom broccoli soup on tap today, just got back from the corner store to get a tetrapak of chicken soup broth. I'll make that closer to lunch as I have to prep the veggies first. Busy day already got 98 min of exercise and 4430 steps so far.
@lavalily I hope all goes well with your move, I know how much you love Hawaii, and perhaps you can go back one day. It is on my bucket list to visit when things actually settle down more. I have aquaintances who are having to move from Vancouver to Toronto to access family in Florida. He's a classical pianist and she is an opera singer - I can't imagine the cost of moving the piano but it will go to Toronto !! When we love our family we do what we can, cost is never considered. I hope you settle in Florida well and continue with us in this healthy lifestyle journey as well.
@Tabatha_Cain I hear you, I have not done that hoola hoop move in ages - however, I could use the hip movement as long as it does not aggrevate my nerve issue - there were other things in WII Fit that I used to like to do too, also have their walking one as well. That kept me up to 10,000 steps at one time. Guess I should get it hooked up to have some fun eh ! Hope your work day goes well.

I used to love doing Walk It Out on the Wii. It was a fun way to get steps in. Might just have to hook that up!4

Good Evening Everyone!
My trip is to the county. We are backing for a bake sale. So definitely not a relaxing time for the most part.
Today started out rainy so didn't get my walk done. Then my back started hurting and the heat kicked in. So it ended up more of a rest day. Did some step-ups but not many. Also played some Wii with Hubby and made some phone calls. Still lots to do. Oh well I seem to work better under pressure.4 -
@Tabatha_Cain ,, was today warmer? We still had the strong wind today. It did though reach 71, but I just opened my window now since the wind has finally died down.
@Patti241 WOOHOO HI Patti!! Hope you loved the day!
@Marileigha ,,, Awww TY TY TY TY!! so nice to be back. Looks around the chat room,, YUP FEELS LIKE HOME!! So happy to have you with us!!
@lavalily ,,, FL is nice, but so sorry about the move. Its NEVER EASY to do!! Even in the best of times. Sure hope all goes smoothly for you!
@Cormierannie,,, I had 2 parakeets at one too. LOL Like yours one was g4een/yellow (Georgie) and awww SWEET little girl Cookie who was blue/white/darker blue, golly she was so PRETTY!! It was fun with them. I DID have Little Dah with them, but I got Georgie and Little Dah at the same time. LOL they'd "chase" each other around the rooms, and they loved each other. It was so cute!!
@Lindiemaep ,,, Oh I'll HAPPILY SAVE you the laundry!! Actually I have someone who now cleans for me once a week. It does it make it so much easier for me!! I don't think I have anything that really needs ironing though. I've moved into the comfortable clothing things. Even for dress up. Done just right it still looks very nice. Hope you LOVED the soup!
@Kurtize,,, Nice advice!! Either we can eat as we wish, not move as we do not wish, but those will show up against us, or make better choices. In turn when we make better choices the world becomes so much more fun!!
@Mtngrl,,, I should relearn how to use my WII. I've forgotten how to hook it up, it can't be that hard though!
@Cseguin2 ,, Sure hope your back feels better FAST!! Enjoy the county. In Maine we call the entire upper part "The County" I live in the southern end. But when anyone hears us say "The County" if they are from here, they know which area we are talking about.
Today I saw the foot Dr. Its doing so much better than I had thought it was! The burning Sat thru today is because on the 2nd surgery (for the infection) he had to cut along side the nerve, it's the nerve I've been feeling. I normally have no feeling in my feet (neuropathy). I'm so happy to see it's doing well. I'll go slowly though as I've been told to do.8 -
Good Morning Airport Friends:
I hope the beginning of your week is going well. I have a meeting with my boss this morning and I am nervous. I called the meeting but I am still nervous. I hope it goes alright.
@lavalily - I know it isn't easy but I hope it is a good move for you.
@cormierannie - I need to go to the library more often. I like learning new things. I should take the time. Way to go for donating to the local food bank drive. I too like to help others when I can.
@LindieMaeP - I love soups. Most taste so good.
@CSEGUIN2 - Well hopefully you find the time to relax on your trip. Sorry about not being able to get your walk in.
@Dianedoessmiles1 - So glad you have some feeling in your foot and it is getting better. Just rest up and you'll be right in no time.
Well I have to go get ready for work. I hope you have a great day.

https://bc.ctvnews.ca/prolonged-sitting-is-bad-for-your-health-but-there-s-a-way-to-mitigate-the-risk-study-finds-1.5955670
Good morning, the above article has some good advise for those who have to sit all day, or stand all day at their job and what you can do to add some walking to your day. I hope you find the article as encouraging as I did. Remember to right click on the link and open in a new tab/window so that your chat window stays intact. As we are gearing up for the next challenge I found this article timely !!
I like the suggestion to move every 20 minutes or so for just 3 minutes, like a walk, not just stand. I will change the settings in my Iwatch to remind me to move every 20 minutes and no doubt 3 minutes will go by really fast !
Lovely day out here today in Marpole Vancouver BC - they say we will get some warmer temps later in the week !! I prefer these coooler temps but know others need an actual summer.
Have a good day everyone.5 -
Good Evening Everyone!
Back is doing fine today. Think I may have just slept wrong.
🌞🌡️. Today is a hot one. Also rest, weigh and TOPS day. Down 1.75 lbs! Was so glad that happened. Slowly getting things taken care of. I am such a procrastinator.4 -
@RockinRobyn672 WOOHOO WELCOME to our team!!! This is such a great group and now with you here,,, WOOHOO better!! As you get to know various members you'll find such encouragement and no doubt give some also.
@Tabatha_Cain ,, how did the meeting go? Did you get the objective you were wishing for?
@Patti241,, HI Patti!! Is the weather to hot to much at this point outside? Do you do like we do in the winter, more indoor activity?
@Cormierannie ,,, how did the dancing at night go? What type of music do you prefer?
@Lindiemaep ,, We've had much cooler temps here in Maine and I AM NOT AT ALL Complaining!! LOL As you well know I am much happier in the WINTAH!! For now I can't do any extra walking, but I AM HOPING next Monday I will be told a limited amount is okay. I DID get told today I can drive again. I still get so very tired, easily.
@Cseguin2 ,,, When I saw your status earlier on today I DID A LOUD "WOOHOO!!" AND my SMILE WAS SO HUGE!! You've been working so HARD and now your body has adjusted to the "new you" and OFF comes the weight. SO HAPPY For you!! WTG hon!
Have you all noticed the Countdown Activity 1- Information & Blog?
Doing these is optional, HOWEVER with that being said, those who do the countdown activities (As time allows) are far more successful than those who do not (per average member). WHY? These help us to have a successful plan, to be in the right mind set, with the skills we need.
Here's the link to the Activity 1

@Tabatha_Cain I hope your interview went well! Fingers crossed…
@LindieMaeP I, too, love soup—did not for a very long time, but now? Umm ummm good!2 -
Good Morning Airport Friends:
I hope you are all doing well this morning. I decided not to go for my interview as they were wanting to pay me 800 less a month and no option for overtime. I thought it would work but in the end I just could not see taking that much of a pay cut. So I am staying put where I am now and making the best of things at my current job.
@cormierannie - I hope we get cooler weather soon. It is hot outside.
@LindieMaeP - Thank you for the article. I am going to try and implement some of its recommendations
@CSEGUIN2 - It sure is hot already today.
@Dianedoessmiles1 - The meeting went well. I think I did get the response I am looking for. At least I hope. I will have to check the activity out and see if that is something I want to do.
Well it is time to get ready for work. I hope you all have a great day.

Diane: It is hot here. It is supposed to be hot starting today.3

Yesterday as I came into the gathering room, this is who welcomed me. Our newest member of the family, Joey, is as precious as a kitten can come. He doesn't know he's a feline and is certainly his own little person.
@kaliswalker: Thanks for the information on the summer challenge and the motivational planning. If you missed her post, it is under the topics for the 5% Challenge. Glad to see that @Dianedoessmiles1 mentioned it above, too. Here's the link to the Activity 1

@DaffyGirl88 , have moved my response to your question to the chat thread. I see that Ceri (ceriusly1) has posted an announcement "Challenge Rules, In Brief" which also contains a link to her blog that she mentioned. I understand your frustration as I've been there, and this Challenge can seem overwhelming, but after a week or two, it will make sense and follow a pattern. Ceri may have answered your questions, but since you asked me, here is my version (and maybe being in chat, it will help someone else too).
The start date has been announced as Saturday, July 9. We always try to be on our teams a week ahead of the start date to have a week of practice (most teams provide an unofficial challenge that we report in for, but we are not competing against other teams that week - it just helps newbies understand how things work, and helps returning members to get back into their routine.) So, Practice Week will begin Saturday, July 2nd. That means invitations to the teams will go out before July 2nd if at all possible. I suggest going to your "My Groups" page in Community and checking every day for an invitation during the last week of June.
Every week there will be a new challenge (it will be posted on your team, usually late Thursday night PDT, to begin on Saturdays). The exercise component remains the same throughout the 8 weeks. We report our exercise minutes for each day and each exercise minute counts as one air mile. All the team members' exercise minutes are added together as air miles traveled toward our destination for that week. It's a race between teams to see who is first to land their plane at our given destination, but it's the total exercise minutes at the end of the week that determines where our team places in the competition.
The 2nd component of the weekly challenges, Living the Good Life (LTGL), changes each week and is different every season. We get daily points for practicing each healthy habit. Last season they included: food tracking, 8 glasses of water, slowing eating for a 20 minute meal, 10+ minutes of decluttering, Team Spirit (points for writing a blog, for reading and commenting on 3 team member's blogs, and for posting in chat), stretching, practicing a tiny habit of your choice, and measuring portions. Each of the LTGL challenges are explained, with reasons why it is a healthy habit and often with links to resources.
There will be a Discussion thread on your team where you can daily post your exercise minutes and LTGL points. One of the Challenge rules is that you need to post at least once a week, even if your numbers are zeros. If you miss 2 weeks in a row, you will be considered inactive and default your choice of team in the next seasonal Challenge. The same is true for the 3rd component, weigh-ins. You need to post your weight once a week and will be considered inactive if you miss two weeks in a row.
The above is the same for every team. Each team's leaders are then free to offer optional activities in addition to chat. There are things like Question of the Day, games, exercise challenges, motivational quotes - it's different on every team and can change based on who the team's leaders are and member interests.
Hope that helps with understanding what it's all about. If you hang in there and just give it a try, it is most understood by getting on your team and starting to participate in it. Then everything quickly falls into place.

@DNjoys Thank you, that helps tremendously! I've participated in Hogwarts, GoT, and am a team captain for the Biggest Loser so I love a good challenge. I just couldn't figure out what this one was about. Looking forward to it!5

@DaffyGirl88 , glad to have you on board!2
