@jugar I will not be near a scale so please excuse me this week.
Today my husband and I celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary 💕 We went to tide pools and saw a lot of whales pretty close to shore! I made a crab boil for dinner and it was a lovely day!
I have not logged all week and haven't given much thought to what I have eaten. Hopefully all the walks will balance things out. Looking forward to heading home tomorrow and getting back to normal. My birthday is next week and I'm turning 40. Lots of milestones this month!
@KellyBgetsfit Hope everything is going ok. Hugs to you!
@YinxFed Glad you made it home from your trip. Hope you get rested up soon.
I definitely hear everyone on the hotel booking stress!
I probably missed some people. Love reading everyone's posts!7 -

Well team, I had my perfect day. up until my drive home from hockey last night where I happened upon a little black cat that had been hit by a car and was still alive, lying in the road. Poor baby was a stray and was in the wrong place at the wrong time but I couldn't leave him alone in the road to suffer so I picked him up and managed to get him to the local vet clinic as the last staff member was walking out for the night. We knew he wasn't going to make it and so we decided to euthanize to ease his suffering. I know you can't save them all, but cats are my kryptonite. I wish for so many things to be different. I have no idea when he was hit or how many other cars drove past before I saw his tail twitch and stopped. Alas, at least he wasn't alone at the end. I'm crying as I type this, I'm so heartbroken. I know it's an unfortunate fact of life in the country. I know I did what was right, even though I wish money grew on trees so I could have taken him to the emergency vet clinic across in the city for surgery and saved him but it wasn't to be. I managed to not turn to food for comfort, but I may have given more treats to my own cats than was recommended in their diet when I got home afterwards.
I will have to turn that *almost* perfect day into a perfect week in order to maintain that loss. This is my first time below 185 since I was in my 20s. I have a weekend camping/potluck party saturday so I will have to bring my discipline along with my willpower to not eat mindlessly. I will stock up on seltzer based low calorie drinks and leave the red wine for hubby. I've said it, now to hold myself to it!
Kristi @conelywoods you look amazing, congrats on the anniversary and happy birthday-week!
@KellyBgetsfit hope the kiddo is feeling ok!
@Terytha how was the pulled pork?!?!
@YinxFed isn't sleep just SO wonderful?!!?!? glad you made it back ok with only *minor* travel inconveniences.
@jan110144 hope your injection gets you back up on that horse for longer! activities that feel the soul like that make all the difference.6 -
@PlaneMonkey I'm crying as I read your post - tears of happiness for you, your grit and determination, your milestone, and what a beautiful human being you are. Tears of sadness for the poor small creature you treated with such kindness.4

@PlaneMonkey I ditto what Liselyn said. Crying. Poor little kitty. What you did was such a wonderful act of kindness. Proud to call you friend. So hard and yet necessary so the poor thing didn’t suffer. ❤️
@conleywoods Happy Anniversary!!! You two are so cute. Sounds like a wonderful way to celebrate.
@YinxFed So glad you made it back safely. Glad you had a great time. So good to hug our kids, even when they’re grown.
I did check in and read everyone’s posts last night, but never got to post because my phone died. I think I was just barely under my calories, water could have been better. I lost track but had at least 64 ounces. I marched around the house to get my last 1,500 steps. Motivation to keep my streak going.
Today, hubby and I are off to the beach for the weekend to celebrate his birthday and our 39th anniversary. (How did we get so old?) 😂
I will try to check in but unsure what service will be like.
Kudos to Juliet for getting me on my mat this am. She came into my room and said. “Come on Mom Mom let’s do our Pilates. “ So 12 minutes ✅
Have a great weekend!!5 -
@PlaneMonkey another one here with tears in my eyes. Poor little thing! so glad you did what you did but talk about a poor end to a perfect day. BUT. It is SO incredible that you are at a weight you haven't been since your 20s! That is just amazing.
@micki48 Juliet is cracking me up! Helped with the tears from Courtney's post.
@bowens1973 Brad, killing it as usual, and during a fair no less.
@YinxFed you had quite the trek to make it home, sleep well-deserved! Have fun at the wedding - show us your outfits if you can!
I knew yesterday wouldn't be under calorie goal for me since we went to out to a bar & dinner with my friends whose birthdays are both on Sunday. this bar was so cool and worth the calories tho. Everything is greek goddess and witch-themed. the whole place is down a little alley and down a set of stairs into a small room made to look like a cave with votive candles in little nooks in the wall. the bathroom wallpaper is tarot cards! my friends and I were flipping out. the cocktails were exceptional too. worth the price! I got a burger for dinner which is pretty unusual for me, but we walked a lot looking for a good place to eat, so ultimately I wasn't too far from my goal with exercise calories. happy with that.
today is my long-form workout day. have to run to the grocery store before that though so I am prepared for lunch, and to pack food for a full day at the beach tomorrow.4 -
@PlaneMonkey Oh that poor kitty! When I was 16 my sister and I were driving and had a similar situation with dog. It is such a helpless feeling to not be able to fix them.
@Kali225 The birthday outing sounds so fun!3 -
@PlaneMonkey The pulled pork was my best effort yet. Just the right amount of spicy and sweet and so much flavor. I was extremely pleased with myself.
I'm so sorry about the kitten. Hopefully it's just on to another of its 9 lives, and a happier one.
I've been so wound up and anxious about today for so long, and now that it's all going well and I'm less anxious, I'm about to pass out on my feet. This whole month has just been banana crackers so tomorrow is our agreed on pajama day. No going anywhere or doing anything. I'm going to lay on the couch with a lap full of cat and my TBR list on Kindle Unlimited.
Might still make dinner instead of ordering, but it'll be lazy whatever it is.6 -

#1 You are not so old. I retired after 37 years in my university job 4 years ago. I'm not old. You are not either.
#2 Juliet is brilliant. My son was my gym nag for years. You need one too. Pajama day is the best day. Enjoy!!! And remember how good today was even after being so anxious. Next time be less anxious. That is an order.

Let's wrap up Week 3!
Saturday people, here you come:
@veronica1359
@panera88
@Shawtytel
@Terytha
And still a couple of other people to catch up:
@mmarceau2
@EvMakesChanges
Thanks!3 -
I'll be on the road today - catch up with everyone tonight. Heading for the Maine coast to see the old man!5
-
Thanks everyone for the love and support. This group is gold.
My Garmin is on charge because the birthday party I'm going to this afternoon is on a mini lake and we're bringing our kayaks so hopefully there will be some calories burned from paddling to allow for a couple of indulgences at the buffet.... 😉
I'm bringing one of my favourites: dill pickle pasta salad. Mmmmmmm
Yep, good thing I will be paddling far from the food table....5 -

Yesterday was the second to last of my July events. We did cupcakes for a coworker's 15th work anniversary and then we took everyone axe throwing. The food was all catered and deliciously terrible plus I ate cupcakes. So you'll understand, I'm happy to come out on par with my weight.
Axe throwing was a blast, and a surprisingly good workout. I have very good aim and very poor rotation so basically if it was darts I'd be golden but since it's axes I'm terrible. But that's ok. I don't need to be good to have fun, and practice makes perfect. XD6 -
Having a good time at the beach. Had shrimp last night. No extra snacks around so that’s good. Met my steps. Doubtful that I had enough water. This funky hotel has no ice that I’m aware of. I like cold water. Not warm tap water.
Taking a break from the sun at high noon. Even when we get away, Juliet and fam are coming down for the day. Love that kid!
Check in later. I want to hear about that paddle boarding Courtney.6 -

@Shawtytel - what a great loss! Well done!3
-
@PlaneMonkey So good of you to stop and help the cat, even though the end was not what you would have wished. But you did assure that it did not lay there and suffer and for that you should feel very good.
@micki48 Happy Anniversary!! I hope you are having a great weekend.
@Terytha A pajama day sounds wonderful. Enjoy!!
The hot weather has returned. At least I am grateful that we had several days break from it. Looks like it will last for the next 10-14 days :-( So ... up early for dog walk and horse and then wait for sundown for evening dog walk. Still managing to ride for a half hour or so and that is also something to be grateful for!
Weigh in tomorrow. Fingers crossed.3 -

@mmarceau2
@EvMakesChanges
Let's see if we can keep it up for week 4!2 -
I am back from vacation and it felt so good to sleep in my own bed last night. I am ready to get back on track after eating whatever I want for my vacation and probably the 5 days before vacation. I am up 4lbs which isn't bad at all considering what I have been eating! Today I had a perfect day 😌 I didn't exercise today but felt I needed a rest day. Each vacation day included a minimum of 4 hours walking on the beach so my ankles and feet are a bit sore. Tomorrow I am working out for sure. My birthday is this Wednesday and I will turn 40! We are going to a tea house for high tea. Never been before so it will be an experience.8

I had a rare day yesterday where I timed out to come on here. It’s always a priority for me but I hit my point of exhaustion. It was another night not getting home until midnight or so and I could barely keep my eyes open. Anyway, the craziest of the Stampede events is over – one more tomorrow night and I’ll be done. It’s been a blast, but it’s not sustainable.
The team is on fire this week! No weigh-ins in the red, WOW! Like @jugar often reminds us, it’s at this time we need to start planning for how we keep rolling with a small loss for next week to build on this week’s success. In any event, congrats to all – enjoy it and keep on inspiring!!
@YinxFed Can’t believe you dealt with not one but two flight cancellations for your trip. It’s amazing what sleep does to restore us after we go through a period of acute stress like that. Hope your niece’s wedding was amazing – pics of you and Ben and the lovely couple if you have them!
@conleywoods You and the hubby are adorable. Those ocean pics were something else. Sounds like a great vacation – thanks for taking us along for the ride. Love the choice of the tea house for your birthday… if it’s anything like the ones I’ve been to, you’re going to have a GREAT time!
@PlaneMonkey Your progress is inspiring. Hope the potluck was great today. Can’t wait to hear how you navigated it. Also, really curious about this dill pickle pasta salad. Do you have a recipe?
My heart breaks for the little cat you found and for the terrible situation. You are such a caring and thoughtful person and I’m so glad you stopped for him. What a sad thing to go through.
@micki48 Hope the celebration was wonderful yesterday. Also, love that your little granddaughter was your Pilates inspiration. What a wonderful reason to be active.
@Kali225 Greek goddess AND witch themed? What an interesting little concept. The atmosphere and mystique of this place sounds really neat… so glad you had a great night out with friends.
@Terytha I hope pajama day was super restorative for you today. Way to know you needed it and to make a plan for it. So smart.
@jugar Have a great time with your dad!
Well, off to bed to recharge a bit… but lastly here is my exercise recap for the last couple days:
7/14: 16911 steps
7/15: 20055 steps

@veronica1359 @Shawtytel @panera88 @PlaneMonkey and @jan110144 Great weigh ins this week!
@micki48 What a great time you guys must be having! CONGRATS on the anniversary 👏 Glad you two were able to get away together even if the family followed you for a visit 😊
@ashleycarole86 Holy cow you have been BUSY! The stampede might need to end soon so you can get some rest. I am really hopeful that the tea house will be a hit. The one I initially wanted to go to is booked for months. I made reservations for just my husband and I there for late September.
@Terytha I hope pajama day was awesome! I try to have pajama days as often as possible!1 -

Thank you everyone for your kind words and support. I know I haven't been as active lately so I really appreciate the support. That is why I love this group. 🥰
Anxiety Update- with all the covid stress, I really haven't had any anxiety!
Covid Update- another one has Covid, my 6 year old, which has been rough. I am also bummed because this is my last full week off, but we are home bound until Tuesday. I had fun plans for this week.

Oh and the scale is way up!!4

@conleywoods
Some time ago we booked our longest trip yet to go back and visit Brad's family with some intention of doing some touristy stuff as well. We leave Tuesday morning. At the time I gave no thought to how busy Stampede would be.. otherwise it might have been better to book at another time. In any event, really looking forward to the trip... I did have a great nap yesterday afternoon to catch up a bit on sleep.
This was the first year all the corporate events were back on and it definitely felt like everyone was making up for lost time with the invites. I am in a customer service type role so felt a decent amount of pressure to attend events. I can struggle to say no but I think I probably should have carved out a bit more down time this past week.
I'm always more than thankful for the fun!
We are at the trailer this morning but we have to go back earlier than normal so I have time to get ready for my last event for Stampede tonight. There was a wicked cool thunderstorm here last night.. woke us up at about 2:30 to flashes of lightening and roaring thunder.
Last week was good - stayed under my weekly calorie goal despite all the Stampede indulgence. I was happy with how I navigated.. picking and choosing when to have more and when not to. This week started off with two higher calorie days but I had a great day yesterday.
