Well, it's official and I feel like a million bucks! First Gran Fondo complete - 152 kms and 1,500 feet of elevation gain through the Canadian Rockies and foothills. Meant the world to have my girl @ashleycarole86 there to see me off and to cheer me on as I returned. My best friend!

Hello everyone! Just wanted to drop my weigh in for this past week.
PW: 210
CW: 207.6
Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their weekend!8 -
It is OFFICIAL (because I say so). THIS TEAM ROCKS!!!!
Look at that awesome @bowens1973 Brad! What a guy! Want to hear the stats? Lost 90.8 pounds. Had a hip replacement (or 2??). Got through a period of major pain and now is biking like a boss in the Rockies! And his wife @ashleycarole86 ? Hooo boy. What a great person. And he sure loves her
Then there's @panera88 @Shawtytel @veronica1359 and @terytha clocking in with excellent losses this week, @micki48 back on track not only with weight but with her fantastic support of teammates, @conleywoods cheering us all on while making progress, no matter how hard, and @mmarceau2 finding herself while the kids are away for a bit. I can't mention everyone who is rocking our team, but it is sure something to be proud of.
A couple of months ago, I was feeling like it might be time to move on from F2F. I'm so glad I got the encouragement to continue - the times like right now when I see how much difference has been made in so many lives, I am pumped. You, your kids, your spouses, your co-workers. They are all seeing this, and knowing how you have made changes. When they need to make some, they will remember this.
Hats off, everyone!

Final call for week 2 weigh-ins:
@MoonlitMuse
@EvMakesChanges
@robinhardysmall
@Gidgitgoescrazy
@once_mas
Thanks!1 -
I've been missing everyone this month - how did that happen again?! I decided to write a wee bit here tonight in order to at least have one entry for the week.
@jugar CW: 178.5
It's been a challenge to make reasonable food choices this week. Even though I haven't had a menstrual cycle in over 6 years, my emotional state and the feeling of a cycle still seems to make a showing. It's more subtle but still noticeable. I had to laugh - I looked at the "green", "yellow", and "red" food choices that NOOM lists and saw that I've consistently had a few hundred calories over the "acceptable" red-food limit and still wonder...why hasn't more weight come off?? Hmm...funny, that. When you eat more calorie-dense food, it stays put a lot longer. No kidding!? Interesting. So, I'm trying to keep better track before I go to the cafe at work and get whatever looks delish. The servings are all reasonable and they tell the calories of everything so, I only need to plan ahead and I can keep with the program.
It's straightforward enough...I just need to think. it. through.
Now, if I can get my sleep-act together and get better restorative sleep, my cortisol and other whacky levels of hormones stand a chance of lowering themselves along with my weight. Time will tell.
Time for bed now. Have a lovely sleep everyone. I'll be catching up with you all soon. xoxo

CONGRATULATIONS @brad1973!!! What an accomplishment! So proud of you. Bet you’ll sleep well tonight.
Today seemed a little off, but I logged everything and ended up under. Drank my water and got my steps in and obviously checked in here.
My hippy-butt-back has been killing me today. I’ve tried all sorts of Pilates exercises to stretch it, but took some naproxen to help and it still hurts. Not looking forward to bed because that’s when it seems to get worse. Ugh.
@jugar Glad you’re sticking with us. We need you to tell us to get our act together and cheer us on when we have that one perfect day and welcome us back when we’ve been lost. And eat pickles to calm a sweet tooth. ❤️
I guess I better get up to bed. Hopefully, I can get comfortable. My sleep score was still good even with over 1 hour being awake. I think it was 83 or 86. It was just a hurty day.
Night all.

I agree with @jugar - what a fantastic team. So many smiles as I read through the posts today and saw the great losses.. we get to add @EvMakesChanges to that list as well.
@jugar It was one hip replacement.... I was sitting there waiting for him to come back from his race and thinking "wow, this was a guy who couldn't walk half a block without pain, and now look at him".
This team and the experience of being with all of you has seriously changed our lives for the better! Feeling grateful today, and @jugar we absolutely thrive with you at the helm.
@micki48 @PlaneMonkey @Kali225 and others who had kind thoughts for Brad during his race, thank you! He doesn't find time to post that much but we talk about the happenings in the group all the time and his presence here has been meaningful to supporting him in losing the weight.5 -
7/8 exercise:
13,333 steps
Bed time here, it was quite sunny and I'm wiped too even though I didn't go anywhere near a bike
Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend. @micki48 Sucks when bed isn't the soothing restorative place it should be... hopefully you do get some comfort tonight like you said.2 -
@bowens1973 CONGRATS 👏 What an amazing accomplishment. You should be very proud of what you have achieved. Both you and Ashley have truly changed your lives!
@jugar I'm so glad you stuck with us! You are so very appreciated and do an amazing job 🙌 ❤ 👏 I think we all have those moments when we want a break, totally understandable...but you would be missed for sure! Thanks for everything you give to our team.
I have been really busy getting ready for our trip. I haven't logged a thing but have eaten much either. I finished my semester for my masters program and turned in my last paper. Food is shopped for and ready to be loaded in the morning. My in laws friends from Canada have been wanting to visit them but are too worried about covid to stay in a hotel. I offered my house since we are out of town. Didn't totally think that through so I spent my day cleaning! No pressure just a couple of total germaphobs to get the house ready for! 😆 LOL I got it all done and my in laws brought home take out so I didn't have to make dinner. Looking forward to being on the beach tomorrow enjoying a west coast sunset!4 -

Two weeks in. Very pleased with progress. Down 7 pounds. Hoping to stay at 1 - 1.5 pounds per week going forward. As important as the weight gone is how much better I am feeling. Sleeping better, a lot more energy, improved over-all mood. Again, I am loving the Habit Tracker. I am the kind of person who goes totally overboard and makes copious lists of all the things I 'need' to do to reach my goals. The list, of course, is always totally unrealistic so I inevitably fail, and then feel defeated. The Habit Tracker boils everything down to the 5 basic things I need to do on a consistent basis. All very doable and all things that I know if I do will take me to where I want to be ... and, it is limited to only 5 things!
@micki48 "My hippy-butt-back has been killing me today." I literally feel your pain and frustration. I have tried every stretch and exercise I know and can find nothing that really helps. Fortunately, ibuprofen and acetaminophen does help to keep the pain at bay, as long as I avoid riding, anything that involves bending and coming back up again (good news is that this includes cleaning ), and sitting in some chairs. The only thing I can really do without discomfort is walk ... so that is what I do to keep moving. I am eagerly awaiting the injection next Monday.
@Brad1973 Joining in the congratulations. You have accomplished so much!!

I took the liberty of splitting the loss over the 2 weeks - in short "correcting" by total guesswork the weight for this past week. That way you stay in the green!!4 -
@bowens1973 @ashleycarole86 I am flipping over Kevin Costner! Anyone seen the movie Silverado? A very fun western he's in, alongside Kevin Kline, Scott Glenn, and Danny Glover. and CONGRATS BRAD!! What a race!
@conleywoods awesome that you got your paper done! this is the opposite of the approach I took to every paper I wrote in college. 12 hours before it was due was typically when I buckled down.
@Terytha I stared at that donut pic for an inappropriate amount of time.
I'm running through my friends list and know I don't have a lot of you added, so expect some invites coming from me!

Congratulations, @bowens1972 those pictures of Kevin Costner are cool. If anyone is looking for a good show, I definitely recommend Yellowstone.
@micki48 I'm sorry you having hard mornings. I am huge a believer in stretching. Even if you don't have it in you to do pilates, try to do some light stretching. I think you will see a difference.
@jugar I know this group is a lot of work. I am so glad you stayed. I hope you know how appreciated you are.
@conleywoods that was nice of you to deep clean your house for your neighbors. Enjoy your trip!!!
I have had a rough few days. I actually had a panick attack yesterday. This week, I am going to focus on the basics, move my body, eat healthy, and take some time for self care. I am going to sit down with my planner and make a plan for the week.

@conleywoods Have a fantastic, well deserved vacation. It sounds absolutely beautiful where you'll be. The prep before a trip can be exhausting, and then to add the house cleaning on top of it... you'll be ready to put your feet up! And with that master's paper handed in too.. wow! BravoAgain, I am loving the Habit Tracker. I am the kind of person who goes totally overboard and makes copious lists of all the things I 'need' to do to reach my goals. I can so relate to this! It has helped me immensely to only bite off what I can chew. Over time things I used to have on the habit tracker have been taken off and replaced with other things because the old ones are so ingrained I no longer need to monitor them. It's a great tool!

@Kali225 I haven't seen Silverado and @KellyBgetsfit we started Yellowstone and we were liking it but we got sidetracked and didn't go back. We'll have to now as everyone is raving about it (plus it's filmed so close to home!!)
Really sorry to hear about the panic attack. Is that something you've suffered with before? It can feel so scary. Sounds like you have a good plan to get some things in order and look after you. Take care of yourself...2 -
7/9 exercise:
14894 steps
Today's plan:
-Breakfast logged and tracked (already done)
-Pre-cooking a meal so there are leftovers to eat
-Salads being delivered
-Driving Brad to the Stampede grounds for a corporate event
-Two Peloton rides
-Dinner out in downtown Calgary with friends
-Walking my dog
This upcoming week is crazy busy. I will need to be very intentional with my time for sure! Looking forward to the fun.

@jan110144 Thanks for commiserating. I did adjust some of the pillows I use to sleep with. Interestingly, I removed the one I keep between my knees and it seemed to help. That and the Aleve. Mine is weird and perplexing because it switches sides which leads me to believe it’s orthopedic. Maybe I need an adjustment. I’m not a big chiro person but have used one before with good results. Hope you get relief with your shot tomorrow.
@conleywoods Kristi have a great trip and take time to relax and do some self-care.
@KellyBgetsfit Sorry to hear that life is challenging. Panic attacks are no joke. How does our body know to mimic the ailment we fear? Hope some self-care and deep breathing can ease the stress for you in the coming days.
It’s a beautiful day here. Not sure how I’ll get my steps in, but I will. Driving to visit my cousin today. Have a morning walk scheduled with a friend tomorrow.3 -
I went to the gym. I went last Friday and I went today, because I'm trying to ease back into things with one day a week to start.
I didn't want to. I woke up feeling lousy and cranky and lethargic. But I did go, and I count that as a win.
Sucks to be so much weaker than I used to be though. Trying not to be hard on myself about it.2 -
@veronica1359 I want to workout in a gym also but I'm still not 100% feeling safe. Besides that I've always had gym phobia and have no clue why. When the pandemic happened and I needed something to do working out at home has been the best thing to ever change my mindset about fitness and I'm surprised how much I love it. I think my goal for August will be to take a step further in my journey and sign up to a gym. Thanks for the inspiration.5

I so hear that one!! I remember once a few years ago crying while having coffee with my trainer. But rest assured - and I mean it! - it comes back fast if you keep going and don't try to push so hard that it hurts enough to make you stop. Add as you can, and you'll get back to where you were and beyond. No more stopping! Short breaks are great, but long ones are hard to come back from. You're doing it!! So good.
I have spent so much of today bending over that I feel upside down! I picked another 10 pounds of strawberries, and then came home and picked a gazillion black currants. And lettuces. I am glad strawberry season is over, but it was fabulous seeing some people I hadn't seen in ages, doing lots of catching up while we picked. I go to a farm that belongs to an old friend - there are lots of self-pick days so it is more affordable and lots of fun. Today was probably the last day of the season. I'm strawberried out!5 -

I wish I could post photos of the beautiful fruits and veggies we bought today. All Jersey Fresh. The peaches 🍑 were magnificent. Just picked and ripened on the tree. They were pretty and smelled good and tasty.
Drove to visit my cousin. Stopped at a diner on the way back and had a crabcake on a brioche bun made fresh by one of my former student’s dad. So good. Lots of crab not so much breadcrumbs. 🦀😋
My steps and water are not quite there today. Food is logged. I still need about 3,000 steps to goal. Dont think I’m going to make it.
@Terytha Thats a BIG win. Making yourself go to the gym when you don’t want to is huge! Kudos to you.
I have a 9:30 walk scheduled with a friend of mine tomorrow morning.
Congratulations to the whole team for placing first this week. It takes all of us to make that happen. Even if you didn’t lose, you offered support and it all adds up! Way to go. 👏🏼🎉👏🏼5 -

Brad and I went two summers ago to a U-Pick place near our trailer and I was surprised at how much of a workout it was. I would probably enjoy it more now than I did then but it was nice to choose your own.I wish I could post photos of the beautiful fruits and veggies we bought today. All Jersey Fresh. There is nothing better than a fresh, juicy peach. Drooling!! Your day sounds like it was lovely.
@Terytha Great job on the gym. It doesn't feel good to have a fitness regression but one of my favorite instructors on the Peloton talks a lot about the seasons of our fitness (and that progress is not a straight upwards line). Your fitness may have taken a little break, but like @jugar said you'll be back where you want to be in no time if that's important to you.
Love to see the team in first.. there sure was a ton to celebrate this past week!!

I got the list done, plus some laundry. I did overeat at the dinner. Got a bit wrapped up in the moment! Once I tracked it afterwards it wasn't as bad as I thought. Helps it was a big day of exercise!
Tomorrow I am out of the house from 6:30 a.m. until likely 11:30 p.m.... I will do my best to check in but I have a corporate event that starts early afternoon and then my favorite band is playing at the Coke Stage at the Stampede so I have to check that out!
