@AthleteLori had the good idea of starting a roadrunner thread to record our minutes of exercise!
So I'll get the ball rolling, and we can tweak the 'rules' and icons once we've built up a head of steam.
For starters I propose that we get a 'sporty' (β·πποΈββοΈπ€ΌββοΈπ€ΈββοΈβΉοΈββοΈππ€Ίπ€ΎββοΈπ§ββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπ€½ββοΈπ£ββοΈπ§ββοΈπ΄π»ββοΈβ½οΈππβΎοΈπ₯πΎπππ₯ππΈπππ₯ π₯π€ΏπΉπ₯πΌπΏβΈ) for every 15 minutes of intentional exercise
and a 'busy bee' (πππ)for every 15 minutes of NEAT non-exercise-related activity (e.g. housework, gardening, washing the car etc).
I was pretty active today:

1 x 75 minute bike ride π΄π»ββοΈπ΄π»ββοΈπ΄π»ββοΈπ΄π»ββοΈπ΄π»ββοΈ
15 minutes hula hooping πͺ
That makes a total of 12 sportys. No bees though...

πΆπΌββοΈ 30 minutes treadmill @ 3 mph
π΄ββοΈ 20 minutes stationary bike 3 miles
ποΈββοΈ 30 minutes rowing machine, abs, adductor weights.
Usually do this 3 x per week. Then thereβs daily housework/ errands/ laundry at least 2 hours. Iβm old so that wears me out.1 -

Sometimes I also βοΈπ€¬π€£
I normally let the Fitbit figure this stuff automatically as I don't really count the stuff (other than total steps and moderate exercise minute).
Admittedly, since Fitbit keeps stats and you can see how many times you were over 20/25/30/35 etc steps, on a day like today when
I'm less than 15 minutes walking to adding another 30k with 2+ hours to go to midnight.... yeah, I guess I'm going to re re check the mailbox!!!π€£π€£π€£
Let's see what Google fit says!
SO five different incidents one being last night's walk that finished after midnight.
Three totaling 5km were phone calls pacing around the house and block
One was a 12.5km walk.
About 133 minutes were moderate paced according to google which of course misses the cross country part
Fitbit says 249 zone minutes
(It was a more active than normal day for sure)
So how many walkies? π€·π»ββοΈπ€·π»ββοΈπ€·π»ββοΈ

PAV. Those pictures are so beautiful they make my chest ache.
Hmm...I too let Fitbit worry about this for me. So I'm going to use those numbers:
258 minutes - fat burn
0 - cardio
0 - peak
This is good! I usually only pay attention to the calories burned. Now I have another number to play with!0 -
πΆπΌββοΈ 15 minutes on the treadmill
No bees. Rough day. I slept a lot.2 -
Confusion is my normal state. That's why I said we'd need to refine and tweak what counts as a 'sporty' or a 'bee' as we go along... I don't think any of us expect a thread of this type to be an exact science!
2 -
I love confusion as a normal state - it is a creative place to be
I'm going to be nonpictorial on the numbers tracking for this one for now - the simplicity of fitbit tracking things for me is so wonderful! But I think I can handle pictures to show what I did that day (that maybe I will remember?)
258 minutes - fat burn
0 - cardio

π hours and hours of reassembling/sorting/purging/cleaning house (still). Too embarrassed to tell you how many times I've moved the piano - lol - but it is coming together.
πΆπΌββοΈ two doggie walks1 -
Moving the piano qualifies as heavy lifting.
That's a bend in the South Saskatchewan River a few km down the road from dad's soon to be previous home.2 -
Heavy pushing! that is a beautiful bit of scenery.1

To π or not to be may be the question, but I don't like getting accosted by π's and of course all you busy π's are putting a cute face on what I call icky work or once a year search for the floor clean up! π
So I think I'll stay with walkies! Oops, are we calling walkies sporties?π Ok walky sportiesπΆββοΈ! ππ©πΆπΎ Possibly woofies? π»
Actually I LIKE woofies! And I can just see that Ms. Google will manage to embarrass me one day... but I guess it is what it is!
So yesterday there were two π woofies ... without a πΆ π€·π»ββοΈ
One was a 1.76km phone call and the other a 5.61km mix of stroll and call and (annoyingly) text!
Are we doing quarter or half hour? By quarter hour it was ππ©πΎπ©π five woofies!π

412 minutes - fat burn
14 - cardio

π still reassembling/sorting/purging/cleaning house. No piano moving - maybe today though.
πΆπΌββοΈ walked to grocery store, around festival for maybe two hours and only one doggie walk because I was too tired last night for a second (they forgave me when we cuddled up in bed nice and early)
π΄π»cycled to and from Super Crawl (only 1 slice of vegan pizza despite a gazillion food trucks)2 -
So today was a bad day for exercise - it was raining and the pooch's rheumatism plays up in the rain and he goes on strike.
So just two short woofies today... a thirty minute woofy in the morning ππ and a similarly timed woofy in the afternoon ππ. Oh, and fifteen minutes of hula hooping (for which I can't find an appropriate icon).
So four woofys and one hooly make 5 sportys in total...2 -

Sigh! Apparently I can't add! AND I need guidance! When I talk text and walk in paths and count via GPS in non flat terrain... it ain't happening at 8km an hour!!! So yeah... it was 2.25 hours worth of woofies. So either 4.5 woofies or 9 woofies depending on whether they are 0.5 or 0.25 hours.... help?!?!?! ππ©πΎ ππ©πΎ ππΎπ©1 -
Iβm making this up as I go along! I say there are 4 woofies per hour...others may disagree!1

Sunday Woofies
159 minutes - fat burn
0 - cardio
0 - peak
π hung a few paintings - assembled some furniture - tweaked some arrangments - lots of laundry (bedding/throws) - but a much slower day than in awhile.
πΆπΌββοΈ two doggie walks - pretty relaxed ones - kinda like strolls
Interesting how low the fat burn minutes were! Only had 13,082 steps - lower than previous days but still two hour long walks in there. I think Fitbit goes by heart rate? It was much cooler yesterday - so heart rate was down I think? Who knows...lol
1 -
In honor of this roadrunner thread. Hereβs a photo of the real thing which is common in these parts. They are fast running little buggers!
2 -
Is that what a road=runner looks like! And yes, Laurie. It is interesting that heart rate doesn't always correspond to effectiveness of exercise. But the opposite is true because of measurement problems. So google fit will give me "moderate exercise" minutes for things that fitbit won't--for example walking on a sidewalk or paved road at 3.5mph an hour which on rare occasions might not get me up to "fat burn" but it is still "moderate" exercise. And the reverse is true with Fitbit lighting up but google fit saying I'm lazy--for example walking on an uphill trail at 2mph!2
-
Lots more road runners today!

Weight loss happens in the kitchen not the gym! Most weight comes off with portion control and better choices. Exercise makes you fit and healthier.
My hour and a half in the gym 3 times a week only gets me about 900 calories that week. Thatβs like a couple of donuts or a burger and fries.
Really itβs easier to try to eat better. As you lose weight you may find exercise is easier and less painful.1 -
No roadrunners.2

Is painπ‘ still bugging you?π₯Ί0

Yeah. I have a condition that causes facial pain. I've been taking pain meds and have been really tired because of it. I hope to move more this week.3

That is a tough one, Lori. I hope you can find some manageable relief.1

Today was a better day. I danced for 15 minutes. ππΌ3
