Back to the gym this morning after a week long break. I felt all creaky and tired. Doesn’t take long to lose your exercise momentum!

Gym tomorrow morning. Got to burn off some calories because we’re going to In-n-Out for burgers to celebrate Fathers Day. Hubby’s favorite meal!

No combos at In n Out! They have a very limited menu. Burgers, fries, milkshakes - that’s it. You can play around with burger sizes, cheese etc. but no breakfasts, salads, chicken, kid meals. The franchise is in only a few western states. It’s a place for burger purists.

Hope you have a wonderful time with the “Dads” in your lives! Brunch and burgers!!! Sounds pretty fine. I’m going to send some good words to all the fathers still in my life… But it won’t involve any tasty treats.

I have to say... that sometimes too much can be a bit too much! Recovering... slowly

Yup - too much togerthness takes time to get over. I’m a big fan of necessary alone time to maintain my emotional well-being.
Back to the gym tomorrow morning to burn off some anxiety and stress. Or maybe it’s mostly to get me really tired so I can’t get all agitated?

I imagine there’s a good chance my son is feeling like that back home in Newfoundland. 😜

Does mopping the tile floors in three big rooms and three bathrooms count? Felt like a workout to me!

    Mopping six floors ✔️✔️✔️✔️✔️✔️

Was Son number two’s birthday yesterday… my exercise was grocery shopping with him to buy a cornucopia of organic vegetables to prepare for today’s birthday gathering. Roasted veggie bowls with wild rice and toasted buckwheat options and a lemon/lime tahini dressing! (I aspire to this today… they may just got a bunch of rinsed raw vegetables 😂)
Lots of out and abouting for one who’s been bed and housebound for much of the past two months. The abouting was a lot of fun but the looking is still very challenging…felt like a pirate on a rough sea without their patch 😜 had to come home and have a big long lie down… hence the rinsed raw vegetables possibility.

Oh how far this trail walker has fallen…

Maybe some kind of yogurt dip for the raw veggies? Voila!

I know how Laurie feels about losing trail walking. I dearly miss being able to take long early morning walks outdoors. But we just have to make do with our body’s limitations. I’m considering yoga in addition to the gym. Might be good for calming stress and anxiety? Just need to find a gentle geriatric group….

That sounds like a fantastic idea, Yooly!

This seems to be in the wrong thread but today’s meal making felt like exercise… All the vegetables were roasted and it was so extraordinarily delicious I was so tickled.
Son number two loved it too.

I woke up just before four this morning started roasting in cooking around five and everything was pretty well ready at 1:30.

Me and the furry one are in bed having a little lie down now that everyone is gone and everything is cleaned up. 🙂

I meant to take pictures before people started filling up their bowls but I forgot until the first round of bowl filling had taken place. These pictures don’t look quite as pretty as they could have… but they still tickle me to see everything kind of together 🙂

Wow - what a feast! No wonder you needed to lie down. I’d totally count all that prep work as exercise.

    Yeah!!!
The best thing is that I have quite a bit of leftovers in the fridge - enough for many meals this week I think 🙂

Gym today at 5:30 a.m. It was already 80 degrees before dawn. They’ve installed additional floor fans to assist the overhead fans. The humidity/heat just keeps creeping in anyway. But the new fans do provide some added relief.
I earned my nice long cool shower!

    Good for you, Yooly!!!

I have progressed to two 1/2 hour walks! :) Pup is happier. First one has to be pretty early because it is getting hot and humid here before 9. Nowhere near your temperatures, Yooly, nor time of day! But this heat makes it very uncomfortable for walking - for both me and pup. So we go out early in the morning and later in the evening.

This week I have even started some arm/shoulder exercises again. Woohoo! Just have to keep the heart rate down it seems - anything like real exertion and the eye/head starts throbbing and it takes a few hours for that to settle down.

    I'm LEARNING!

Just got a text from our gym. The air conditioner has died. So no getting outside to walk due to scorching heat. And no going to the gym until the AC is fixed. Arghhhhh 🙄🤯

Super lazy day! Not even 2000 steps and I've actually spent most the past 3 hours in bed!!!!! 31C which is unusually hot for us even if you guys laugh. Makes the ice pack comfy though! 🤣

You know how kids clutch Teddy's? I'm clutching an ice pack as I don't want the softball I ended up with last time!!!!😬

I think lie-downs are very important after surgery… I haven’t personally experienced the ice pack clutching lie down… I guess that might be coming… I hope it’s bringing you comfort. It might be fun to gut a teddy and fill it with ice 😜

(perhaps macabre would be the correct term rather than funny)
