I haven’t been exercising at all this week. My illness, the broken AC at the gym and unbearable temperatures outside have severely limited exercise. So far it’s been a little puttering about the house, knitting and napping. I’ve consciously tried to cut back on eating/snacks to compensate.2

Very good, Yooly! I believe that is what we all need to learn to maintain that ideal body
you are leading by example!

Trust me Laurie, my body is soooooo far from ideal. But at least it’s a comfortable healthier body.2 -
I’m going to attempt going back to the gym tomorrow morning. The air conditioning is still not working but apparently they’ve got a lot of fans.🥵 I hope if I go early- 5am- it will be bearable.
I’d go walking outside but my hip issues preclude long pavement hikes in the dark. I need some seated equipment to get in my workout.

I am a woos and called the walk in the sun sooner than later... and heading out in the dark now1
-
Walking in midday sun is NO fun. Not even here where it’s been a very ( unbelievably !!!) moderate summer.1
-
The gym wasn’t half bad this morning. Got my entire workout in. Pretty good considering I laid off exercise for a whole week. ‘‘Twas a bit toasty without AC.1

Again I lost my post 🙁
And it was so positive and full of optimism 🙂
The second version is going to be just to congratulate Yooly! You tough chick you…👍🏻2 -
Joined the local Community center today. Going to start going back Saturday. I have a plan in place to restart my exercise classes. I am going to start doing some laps in the pool as well. If I can't handle the classes then only pool. I can walk for the most part without pain. Loosing some weight sure can't hurt!3

Find something you enjoy and stick with it. In between you can try a few new exercise options. As you evolve so does your ability to exercise in different ways.0 -
Sounds like you’re taking good solid steps, Scout! (I was about to write Scout Mom but Scout sounds so much more energized and proactive!)
Keep on coming back here and let us know how you’re doing. 🙂
Today I am pulling on my walking boots 🥾🥾
I’ve been wearing sandals to keep me walking more slowly and gently (???). But though her vision hasn’t improved any, lefty feels way more comfortable so I think I’m ready to up my walking game 🐾👣 the furry one is going to be very pleased2 -
I used to do the Zumba and Dance Fit classes pre Covid and I loved them. I have since gotten plantar fasciitis so my feet hurt a bit. They are currently not hurting now and I know if I take some of these lbs off them it will be better. All you can do it try. If it doesn't work then swim it is until I get more weight off!2
-
Good luck with lefty 😜 (she's open there!) and furry 🐕!😘
You peops are high energy! I'm ok with walkies... as long as I don't run into branches, or attacked by owls, or tripped by branches!!!😎1 -
Not bad walk this morning! 7,000 steps which is really great for me right now!!! Another one tonight and it’ll be an OK walking day 🙂.
The walking boots felt so good.
We got to get you a helmet with a miner’s light on the front, PAV. ❤️2 -
I did it. First full exercise class in the books. I struggled. It was hard but I didn’t stop.
I thought about not going when everything I tried on didn’t fit. That was demoralizing. But I still went.
I did 60 full minutes of super intense exercise. Monday is a water aerobics class cause I don’t know that I can do another one of these Zumba classes for a minute.3 -
Fantastic, Scout!!!! Hope the water aerobics go well today.
My "longer, faster walks" and "back to my walking boots that feel so good" have resulted in a threatening sensation of plantar fasciitis in my left foot and threatening knees
Back to the sandals and a slower walk today. Hopefully these threats don't turn full blown if I respond appropriately.2 -

I was dx with plantar fasciitis last year. That’s a hard one! I got shots in my foot and I wear a brace every night. It has really really helped. I haven’t had pain in a long while. I don’t wish that on anyone! Hope it gets better.
I rocked out the water aerobics class this morning and decided that I had enough energy to do the Dance Fit class as well. I’ve maxed out my points on Apple Watch which makes the rest of the day blah; not that I think I have much more in me!
On a side note I found the most amazing protein bar I’ve ever eaten. It actually tasted like real food and not that weird chalk. RX Bar 10/10 recommend. I hade the chocolate sea salt flavor. Gave me a bump in between classes.2 -
You go Scout! That’s a lot of workout there. I’ll definitely check out those RX bars.1
-
Wow, Scout!!!!! You ROCK!0

I sure am paying for it today! My legs are super sore and my joints hurt. I am taking the day off for exercise today. My weight is slightly up but I'm sure it's just water retention to repair my muscles.
Day of rest today.....well not a complete rest. I have 7 patients today going until 7pm.1 -
The Rx bars are quite good. Dates, egg white, nuts. Expensive-ish especially if you try to expand flavors beyond the Costco two variety pack (they have the one scout tried plus peanut butter). These ones are probably a nice dessert for Laurie too (egg white protein).
If I was feeling up to kitchen experiments ** because we all remember the one yoolie "made me" do**😱, I would look into getting egg white powder from somewhere and coming up with a way to mix it with dates and almond flour! It feels to me that it should be able to stick together!
But since I can currently see the kitchen floor (again)... maybe no exploding experiments!!!😳2 -
Those post “goo exercise days really suck ☹️1
-
I might just have to check one of those RX bars out 🙂1

So I had some cancelations on Tuesday and decided that I would try to fit in a class. That was a mistake. I knew it 10 minutes in. I finished the class but my legs felt like they no longer belonged to me. I didn't do anything yesterday. I saw my 5 patients (it was a rough day in the mental health field; lots of deep trauma work) and then I spend the whole evening reading my book!3

Put in a sweaty hour and a half in the gym this morning. AC was pumping but it’s hard to combat high heat and especially humidity. I was all proud of myself until I got into the hot car which wouldn’t start! Word to the wise - excessive heat kills car batteries quicker than cold.
Luckily I have AAA which came out and replaced the battery on the spot. Fortunately I had a phone and credit card with me.3 -
Reworking my gym routine to put less stress on my creaky lower joints. I’ll be starting physical therapy after I get back from Hawaii next month. Hopefully I’ll learn some new exercises and what not to do. The best part of therapy is the pre-workout massage!2
-
You keep on keeping on while we try to get to where you are (1), in at least as good a shape (2)!
Shine the light!
With everything happening in Hawaii I hope you, and the companies you're relying on, manage to find the right balance of fun!0 -
I hope the physical therapy brings you some relief - maybe will add some juice to your knee and hip joints ? That is what My physical therapist believed...thought I am paraphrasing.
Going to try the rowing machine today - notice that is still in the future! - so far I can feel "oddness" in my eye when I'm pushing it too far, so I think I can safely judge whether or not I'm approaching a danger zone???? This is my trial "recovery" so I should get moving a bit more. Sept 13 will be the startover day, but I think it will be beneficial to get as strong as I can before then2
