Thanks all for the well wishes and advice. Totally agree with all the things. Hoping to get to the gym tonight (we'll see- we may get more snow) which will help. I'm getting on a plane Thursday and am going to try to make good (ok, I'd be happy with decent) decisions about what I eat. I will try to weigh in early on Thursday if I remember. Otherwise, no weigh in on Saturday for me.

    Weigh-in day: Wednesday
    Start Weight: 237.6
    1/11/23: 222.0
    1/18/23: 220.4

I'm super excited to see this drop after my weight shot up last Thursday (monthly fluctuation, but still). I was away in Great Lakes, IL for the weekend celebrating my great-nephew (1/11) and my (1/17) birthdays. All things considered, I ate well and moved a lot even though I did have cake, lol! We went up to Wisconsin for a half day of skiing, but I still didn't expect to lose the 2lbs gained last Thursday, plus 2 more. This is the beginning of the last year of my 40s and I'm determined to see significant changes this year.

@Megan_smartiepants1970 I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to post my steps for the week. If they'll still count toward the month:
    01/08/23: 6,173
    01/09/23: 4,988
    01/10/23: 7,788
01/11/23: 2,504 (watch died midday ugh)
    01/12/23: 9,215
    01/13/23: 8,355
    01/14/23: 11,185
    01/15/23: 10,229
    01/16/23: 5,939 (skied for 4 hours)
    01/17/23: 8,215

Mindfulness is a great tool. I am doing a 3 month weekly mindfulness seminar. It is for dealing with pain but the doctor said it can be applied to other areas including weight loss.

It’s been a hard week but I managed to hang in there! Six weeks after I broke my ankle, I’m out of the boot and into an ankle brace. Needless to say I’m thrilled but I’m working a lot of sleepy muscles in my leg now and walking is exhausting! Rehab starts at the end of the month! I can DRIVE again so I’ll be able to slowly get back to working out at the gym! Have a great week!!!!

I missed my step goal by 26 steps. 🤦‍♀️ No exercise today for me. My body is telling me to take it easy. I woke up with a headache at midnight and didn’t fall asleep until after 3 am. I am going to lay back down (something I try to avoid).

    Happy Hump Day!

Can you confirm your step goal please... I put 3500 on non pool days and 9000 on pool days but the spreadsheet says 4500 ...Thanks

I know you've gotten lots of advice, but here is one more little tip. I write. I journal or I write letters that are never sent but just the act of putting my thoughts to words helps me so much. It helps for when I can't speak it. So sit down and just start writing. Then take your thoughts and write the facts without any feeling. Make it neutral. Usually then you can see what you have to do or at least a clearer thought about how to move forward. I hope this helps. This is how I deal with emotional eating.

Struggling to focus on my weight loss, as I've been home getting everything organised for 12 weeks away in my rv! Finally in the rv, but going to the UK for 7 days next week, then Morocco here I come! Just to add some pressure looks like I've sold one of my houses so have to fit in a trip to the notary before I head off!!

You still lost almost a pound. Congratulations! Once you are off, you will be able to concentrate more on weight loss.
