@pupowl - Yelling stresses me out, too. I feel as though I have some kind of PTSD because I try too hard to keep the peace and avoid upsetting people who yell to get their way.
I have to stand my ground or walk away when it’s an ethical topic, or something based on foundational principles, but it’s not easy for me. I can feel it in my body and it takes a lot of energy for me to stay calm in those situations. I used to take on other people’s emotions when they were upset and I found myself prioritizing whatever issue was setting them off at the expense of my own needs, time, etc. I’m getting better at it but still need practice!
So, I’m also working hard to express my feelings calmly but firmly on major issues, and let minor issues flow through me. I want to be kind, helpful, and fair — without allowing people to cross boundaries and take advantage of me. I think the first step for me is setting some clear boundaries so that I can overcome my ‘people pleaser’ tendencies when it’s important to protect myself.
Wishing you peace ☮️ and confidence in dealing with any rude or demanding people you have to interact with Shape Shifters. Let’s surround ourselves with people who bring us up instead of tear us down whenever possible!2 -
@PatriceFitnessPal

Well this achy feeling is hanging on, along with a headache and my sore arm. I just didn't feel like heading out into the cold, so I cancelled. We'll have to reschedule it sometime when I'm feeling better. After such a busy and stressful week, along with all the rest, I'm worn out, so I laid down after eating some lunch and fell asleep.
Got the Group Challenge opened up and ready for tomorrow. Would love to see more of my SS friends to join in...there's always a lot of creativity and focus on areas that YOU need, so I think you'd enjoy it.
Gonna head back and lie down again for a bit...have a good rest of your #Caturday (says Betty!) She curled right up with me for that nap...who wouldn't fall asleep next to a purring love bug?! I just love her so much...

Good morning Shape Shifters. I did some reading, watched Netflix, played games and finished the latest puzzle. I got this puzzle for myself as a Christmas present. It was almost 30 euros which is nearly twice as expensive as most other 1000 piece puzzles. I was expecting better quality for that price. I had a lot of pieces that were a bit damaged which was a shame. Thankfully you can't really tell from the finished piece and it was still very fun and pretty easy to put together. Happy Sunday everyone

@bearchested I will send a message to the MODS to add you back to active. Thanks for the starting weight. What day would you like to use for your weekly weigh-ins. I'll let you know once your back on the chart. Welcome back!

I made some zucchini muffins today and decided to swap out the vegetable oil for unsweetened apple sauce. They turned out great and only have 137 calories per muffin.
I froze some zucchini this past summer when my garden produced more than we could eat. Not much else to use frozen zucchini for, so I’m glad they turned out.
My daughter will take them in her lunch for the next while.6 -
They look delicious @CasandraW ! I'm sure she'll love them all week. I bet the applesauce adds an extra boost of sweetness, as well as moistness too. My mom always made special treats...didn't know how good I had it, at the time!
Loving the cards @pupowl ! Thanks for sharing!
@lauriewrobo Congrats on finishing the program...you're really doing great!
@bearchested Got you back on Friday's and I counted your starting weight for Friday, but if you DID do a weigh-in, let me know and I'll update it. I didn't see a post, so I just assumed. Welcome back, again!

** Huge shoutout to @lindamtuck2018 for surviving dental work without the liberation of ice cream, and for staying grounded when it comes to that funky number on the scale. You may not feel like you earned a win this week, but you're a warrior, and everyone should know it.

Good morning Shape Shifters. I did a lot of cleaning, went to two stores because the first one sold out on something I needed and watched two movies that were so bad that I am pretty sure I lost braincells I am never getting back. Otherwise relaxed with Tinus and played some games. Happy Monday everyone3 -
I am glad some of you appreciate the cards. Today there is no cute picture because I got one of the 10 bonus cards from the 3rd set.5
-
@Pupowl , I love that particular card. Ty for sharing
Mondays are weighing

We are making staffing changes at the store. It's for the better. Another stressor removed for many of us at the store.
I've been able to get outside and do things in the yard as it's been prespring like weather here. I'm going into the shed today to work on it. And find my Easter decor. Being in the yard is a way for me to relief stress and burn calories as well.3 -
Thank you, @Pupowl, for sharing the daily messages with us!
It’s a good reminder that forgiving ourselves for our missteps can bring us peace. I think it can give us strength to make more informed choices in the future if we reflect and learn from our mistakes instead of holding on to them. Some of you have heard me quote my father who once told me that “guilt is a wasted emotion.” There is no shame in learning.
On New Year’s Day, I always forgive anyone who upset me during the previous year. I’m going to use today’s message to help me forgive anyone I’m currently thinking negatively about and I’ll also
consider ways I can mend my relationship with anyone who may have feel slighted by me.
We’re all a work in progress, I guess … Let’s make the best of today. Have a good one, Shape Shifters!4 -
@Pupowl Love the message! I need to forgive more. I hold grudges and it doesn't serve me at all.
Also love the alligator sculpture holding it up. My brother is obsessed with alligators so they always catch my eye.
Well, I had a huge loss yesterday, thought it might be too good to be true. Put back on Almost all of it this morning even though I was under my calories. Good news- almost all of it. Not all of it! I'm 5'6" "ish" tall so yesterday's weight put me .2 pounds above a healthy BMI. I'm getting close. Hoping I can get there by my weigh-in Friday.
My husband leaves town tomorrow for just a couple days. I'm going to use the alone time to try to catch up on my bike challenge. Its with a MFP group and the goal is to ride 2023 miles in 2023- which is about 180 per month. I rode 100 in January and 105 so far in February, so I need to ride 155 more this month to be on track. I can't do that much in 9 days, but I can get 100 I think. We shall see.
My daughter, her fiancee and a friend are coming to visit for a long weekend. There is an annual fashion show that is an AIDS benefit that we will go to Friday night. I had a friend succumb to the disease in the 80s so its a cause close to me. Plus, its always great entertainment.
Hope everyone has a great week!

Wasn't expecting todays card to be so popular! I guess it is because I don't have a social life, lol, so I don't really have any negative interactions with people. I am glad it was a good message for the group though.
@SavageMrsMoose
I really like the card holders too. I have 2 alligators and 1 elephant. I will show that one off tomorrow. Good luck with the bike miles! That is a pretty big amount. My mom is doing a walking challenge this year, 20 weeks with 23 kilometers of walking. Also pretty fun, but I doubt I could be consistent enough to do something like that.

Well, I'm back inside yall. One hour of outside work in the shed and yard. Easter decor is up outside and out in the house. I did 1 hour as well yesterday outside getting trash from the outside and around the shed picked up and taken to the dumpster. So....guess who's got a big s.ile on the face? Yeppers. I'm so ready to get in the yard on these nice days. Tomorrow is rain followed by a few cooler days.
And I forgot to mention to the group earlier...my bf and I are looking for a place to move in together. We are going to be 1 1/2 hours from here to be closer to his mom who is 80. And she I believe is actually excited for Anthony and I as well as we are too. And...and...Anthony says he wants to lose a little bit of weight as well, so I guess I'll have a get healthy partner as well. So things are definitely falling into the blessings category4 -
Hi Shape Shifters,
had a very good strength workout with my cousin today 💪 and looking forward to tuesdays total body workout. It’s always a lot of fun
Last Thursday in my Pilates class there was a different instructor than usual and he did more of a yoga and mobility class with us. The exercises were great and he was such a lovely instructor, I enjoyed the class very, very much. Afterwards I found out that he does this kind of class (simply called „Health“) on wednesdays. I’m definitely going to be there on Wednesday as well ☺️
Love today‘s card @pupowl, though I usually don’t hold grudges but I really struggle with forgiving myself like @PatriceFitnessPal mentioned. So I‘ll take it as a reminder to be nice to myself ☺️❤️3 -
@CasandraW those muffins look very good. Would you mind sharing the recipe? 137 cal per piece sounds too good not to try it 😅3
-
@Armygirlarmyof1 Gardening is so therapeutic. I love it ☺️
The move sounds very exciting! All the best for this!3 -
sorry i need to leave the team. can't make the next few weigh-ins and not really engaging with this right. good luck everyone!
