I’m starting to get a bit hopeful. 🙏🏼
That's great! Hoping for continued success.2 -
Hey all, I'm going to copy and paste a post from another group regarding the newsfeed. I am leaving tomorrow morning to visit my son and won't have access to my computer for a week to try out the things he mentions, but maybe there's hope?newsfeed is being replaced with Activity. I've been playing with it a bit, and here's what I've learned.
But first, let's clarify the difference between MFP and MFP Community. They might appear as one
thing, but they are not.- MFP Community is a separate software package called Vanilla Forums. Vanilla Forums is an Open Source Software package. That means anyone can get their own copy and integrate it into their website. That's what MFP has done. On the plus side, it saves companies from having to create their own forum software. On the down side, they have to accept the package as it is currently designed. So, newsfeed is being removed from Vanilla Forums, and MFP has no control over that.
- You have two distinct profile pages: one is your MFP profile, found at MyFitnessPal's My Home tab, then Profile subtab. This has the URL: www.myfitnesspal.com/profile/<username>
- You have a second profile for MFP Community: currently it's a bit awkward to get to (they might fix that), but you'll find it by clicking the Community tab, then clicking your profile photo at upper right, then clicking again on the photo in the dropdown.
- On your Community Profile page, you'll see Activity towards the bottom.
https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10915268/welcome-to-your-activity-feed#latest
One important note is: Since your Activity feed is part of your profile, it won't be accessible if your profile is set to private. Their solution for those who want to keep their profile private is to create a Group which they can then invite specific members to join (same as how F2F group works).
I won't have time to test this until next week but passing along...1 -
Also:
- You can access a person's Activity Feed by clicking their Username (provided their profile is not private).
- Under your Notification Preferences, there are toggles for New comments on my activity feed posts and New posts on my profile's activity feed. Checking these will ensure you're notified when someone posts a comment on your Activity Feed.

Thanks, Sue. I lost you at newsfeed is being replaced with Activity. But then again, I am a slow processor. 😆

@therealbluenote Of course you are!! Keep it up!!
Are you feeling better and stronger every day? Able to walk further? Your recovery going well??0 -
Quick note - while on vacation in Seattle a pipe broke in our retirement house in VA. Water leaked for 4 days before being discovered. 😞 Significant damage, I'll be mostly offline for a few days dealing with the aftermath. Will check on y'all soon.2

Oh no, Sue! How terrible! I’m sorry you have to deal with water damage. It feels like it never ends. 🫤
I am feeling pretty good. A few glitches like two surgery sites are infected and I’m peeing reddish-brown. Trying to take care of both of those. My surgeon seems to think the urine is an iron overload so I’m off the bari vitamins for four days to see if it clears up. I have increased my bike pedaling to 20 minutes four times a week. Only Fitbit doesn’t recognize it as steps. 😡1 -

The streak is for tracking food on Lose It 🥺 I hate tracking, but it helps!!2 -
@Tomsgal1985 Tracking does help. Although it is beyond me at the moment...I am just logging in daily with periodic forays into the community. A little mindless surfing :-)2

It’s not where I wanted it to be only four weeks out from surgery, but I did spend the entire week in the hospital, so I'm taking whatever I can get! 🫤😂2 -

So glad that you're home and recovering. Be patient, it'll get there!1 -
@Tomsgal1985 Sue, I ended up staying a week in the hospital with a bladder infection and a dangerously high INR. INR numbers tell you the thinness or thickness of your blood, and because I’m on warfarin it has to be in the therapeutic range of 2-3. Mine was 9. 🤦🏻♀️
Much better now! Although I did go to my singing job today and barely made it through an hour. I had to go home and let the sub take it. 😢1 -
@therealbluenote don't push yourself! Glad you are doing better.
I may fall offline for a few days. With my daughter+3 in WV for a few days. And while there is coal in them thar hills, interwebs and cell service not so much. 😂1 -

I was 2.2 less yesterday but Mexican food happened last night. So, yeah. I should say I ate Mexican food for dinner. It didn’t just “happen.” 😩0 -
