@micki48 - oh my - those kitten cuddles are so cute. I agree right now I'm not pushing myself to have all my health goals in alignment with this season. I'm not going to throw in the towel but I want to be kind to myself and also know that I can make changes in the future.
@ashleycarole86 and Brad - Hope you are on the mend soon. I've been lucky to stay healthy so far but know my time is coming.

Nice to see the numbers going down rather than all over the place. I have a game plan with my workouts this week and will be cooking at home most of the week and want to keep this momentum going.3 -
Hey folks. I feel like I've lost a whole week of life. There has been nothing about me the last week that has given any thought to health or fitness from a weight loss perspective. All I've been focused on is getting better. I am back to the land of the living today (sorta) but still have a nagging cough.. I have a feeling it'll be the type of cough that'll stick around for weeks. I can't play soccer tomorrow as I can barely walk down the street without feeling out of breath. It really took a lot out of my lungs.
Anyway, there's no time to fret much about that because we also have a house full of company! I work tomorrow and Wednesday.. today is my dad's 75th so I took the day off.
I feel behind in all things, and stressing about a lot of different stuff.
I haven't been stuffing food down my throat to comfort myself but I also haven't been moving at all. Weight is up a bit - hopefully I can still bring it down before weigh-in!
I can't believe Christmas is just over a month away. Between now and then I still have family visiting until Saturday, six nights in California, a ton of work deadline.. I am not sure how looking after myself is going to be a priority.5 -

@micki48 love those kitten pics!!!
@ashleycarole86 sending hugs and strength! that is so much going on, to be feeling ill at the same time! ugh
I was a little stressed by work today so I'm glad I have closed the laptop for the night and am moving into my workout. looks like a tough lower body day but a format that I like. I want to get to bed early tonight but of course there is yet another good football game on late! maybe I can catch up on all this NFL-driven sleep loss in February...5 -
@micki48 those kittens are adorable!
@ashleycarole86 I'm glad you are starting to feel better! I hope you keep healing and your lungs get better soon!
I have had 2 perfect days now!!! I am not sure how my weight will be tomorrow, but definitely feeling better about this.5 -

After 3 days AWOL I’ll take it, happily!4 -
@ashleycarole86 Yikes. That is a huge plateful of all kinds of things - don't worry too much about weight loss at this point, but certainly aim for good healthy food that will give your body a chance to catch up from the illness, the stress, and the company. If you need help or a replacement for a bit with the step/exercise team reporting, let us know!
@micki48 those kittens are a universal antidote to all things negative. Gorgeous!
@Kali225 you are the exercise inspiration lately! I love hearing about your workouts, and seeing your dedication. But you ARE going to have to get some sleep catching up before February!!
@cleaneater80 sounds like you are set up for a good week. Well done!
I had a big walk today - taking my hardest snowshoeing circuit and doing it like a hike again. At least there was snow on the ground this time! I did the whole route 10 minutes shorter than the last time, so the big hills are feeling better. Of course, once there is deep snow and I'm in the snowshoes it will take at least a half hour longer!
The sunset colours in the sky were lovely as I was heading back down.6 -

Ugh it has been a rough weekend, but I've learned alot.
It seems I've fractured a vertebra in my back (pars interarticularis on my L4/L5 )- I have to get a ct scan done to confirm and see how bad it is, hopefully it's a small one that isn't separated, and it can heal. I'm pretty sure I know when I did it, I was tubing and I slammed into a rock, and it hit right in that spot ( i was going backwards and never saw it, it hurt like the devil at first but then went away for a bit, and I think with the vertebrae below it being fused, it has no give, so that might have helped with it breaking. I don't think it has anything to do with fusion failure, as the spacing is still great and there are no other issues there. So that's my theory. I will know more once I speak with my spine doc.
I've also learned that congestion in your sinuses can cause chest pain, which I find super weird, but it's all good. The meds are fixing that right up.
I have been adding to my stomach vacuuming, I do posture correction, it's super easy, arms out to side, elbow to hands up, like a goal post, pull your shoulder blades together 25 times, then arms out to side, bent at elbow, hands to the front, pull shoulder blades together 25 times, then arms straight out to sides, thumbs up, 25 circles each way. It has made my upper back soooo sore, and significantly more on the left side, but I think that's just a me issue.
Anyway, enough complaining, Have a great day !

Wow @Gidgitgoescrzy .. i think I remember your tubing incident because Brad and I had a scary experience doing the same in Costa Rica and he slammed his lower side into a rock.. scary to think you may have broken a vertebrae that way. Hope you get some clarity with the doc.4

Still a red, but I did manage to turn this week around.
@Gidgitgoescrzy I hope your back feels better soon and you don't need surgery!3 -
Hi everyone,
I am so sorry for missing a week 😢
Crazy days at the moment 😢
CW 231lbs 😢
Have a lovely evening 😊5 -
Good morning!
Sorry I'm late, been battling a cold and have been in a fog this past weekend. That said, not the worst week, especially as it was a birthday week with a trip to Disneyland.

@strong_fit_ells No worries - you hang in there, girl! I sure hope the crazy days take a break soon. Hugs to you!
It has been a good Tuesday! I did some tedious house cleaning jobs that really needed doing (while listening to the dénouement of a good book) but then took Jasper on a nice ride out around the fields. Not into the woods - there are still some hunters around - but in the open. The snow was beautiful, the views lovely, and I managed to avoid being in the headlines as the crazy almost 70-year-old having an accident out riding a 4 year-old horse on a bareback pad (no stirrups). We made it with no problems! There was a slight hoop-di-do when Jasper was startled by a person who was out there wandering around, but he came right back under control and made me look really good. Tonight is going to be freezing rain and other yucky precipitation, though, so I'm glad we went out riding today.
Hoping your back is feeling better @Gidgitgoescrzy ! And your sinuses...3 -
how is it 10:30pm again?! where does the day go.
I am hoping tomorrow's workday goes a little smoother than today's although I was able to log off by 6pm. Arm workout was a good one! will likely be sore today and the glutes were certainly feeling yesterday's work already! tomorrow is a rest day from workouts and I will try to walk at lunch (while there is sunlight!) straight up the mountain road. more work for the glutes! It snowed more today and actually stuck around a bit. So pretty but I actually hope it melts away before I walk since I did not bring proper shoes for that kind of walking!!
I think this is a year where I will hit the black friday/cyber monday sales. I don't always bother. Does anyone have any recommendations for plus size office clothes? I could use a new pair of work pants and maybe a top. I happened to throw together a sweater I have had for a while and a North Face vest today that I realized I can definitely wear to the office, and hadn't thought of before - nice when you can create a new outfit from stuff you already have, even at an elevated weight.
@Gidgitgoescrzy hope you feel better soon! glad the meds are helping to address one problem at least2 -

So turns out everyone at my office has covid, I wonder if that's what I am battling...
We have thanksgiving tomorrow, we aren't doing anything , but I am going to make a horseradish beef tenderloin, with melting potatoes, asparagus and green beans.
No dessert, no appetizers.
Friday, we are going to the Festival of Trees, it's this thing one of the children's hospitals in the area does, they have over a thousand decorated trees. I've actually never been, but apparently you can purchase the trees, and then pick them up next weekend. I imagine they are pretty expensive though. I'm just going to look though...
Have a great weekend everyone !3 -
Happy Wednesday Waistaways 😊
@jugar I'm not sure if you had a chance to see my private message, Liselyn. I've explained why my weeks have been so hectic 😕
I have new Fitbit watch now so hopefully this will make me feel more motivated 😊 I really miss the challenges in fitbit app, but now I joined the Conqueror Challenges. Not the same but still very good 😊
Have a lovely evening everyone ❤️5 -
@Gidgitgoescrzy gosh hope all goes well with your back. Also nice loss this week.
@jugar - You have snow already? We've had a decent fall so far and the snow hasn't settled in yet, but time is ticking. Hunting season should be over soon.
My days have been flying by. I had an interview for a new job and I feel like it went really well. I'm not the kind of person to brag and talk about all my achievements so doing this isn't easy. I'm happy how it went and regardless of the outcome I feel like just getting asked to interview was a win.
Got a few good workouts planned this week and I'm keeping focused not to add too much alcohol in the next few weeks. Plan is to keep it at 1-2 drinks/weeks and so far so good.3 -

I finally got your message! It is so good to see you back, and even if things are still hectic, come by here when you can. We love to get your news. Let us know which Conqueror Challenge you are doing, and maybe you'll get some company2 -

Today, I feel like the gods of irony got me good. Yesterday, our driveway (a long winding very steep hill) had some snow on it, but was no problem to come up. I knew we were expecting a bit more snow, but decided it would be OK to go down today - for my appointment to get my studded winter tires put on. But no. @e got very wet heavy snow overnight, and the driveway is like a melting slalom luge track - no way I'd have made it down without sliding into the ditch for sure We cannot get the tractor past the car either - it is stopped on the flattish bit partway down. So tomorrow we get to go out and try to shovel and spread the before it all freezes and turns it into a complete ice track. Kicking myself for not parking at the bottom yesterday - grrrr! And I want those tires changed! It is required by law as of December 1st, so I hope I can get the car out of here and then actually get another appointment. Sigh.
OK - grumble over. We'll figure something out eventually4 -
I hope everyone in the US is ready for a lovely (and hopefully healthy!) Thanksgiving! A few weigh-ins are due - so get to them early before the feasting begins

It’s practically a guarantee you’ll have it unless *everyone* stays masked in your work place. I hope you take a test before going anywhere. If you do end up getting Covid, here’s hoping it’s mild and you haven’t exposed anyone else to it. Good luck!

Still sick... holy heck.
Haven't exercised in over two weeks now due to to our trip and then being sick
Went for a walk yesterday for 35 minutes and it was too much
Happy Thanksgiving to our lovely American friends. Brad and I are off today and tomorrow for a final bit of time with dad before he returns home and Brad had a small turkey in the freezer so he's making one too!5 -
@jugar frustrating driveway situation! you've got a task ahead of you. good exercise at least...?
I'm going to weigh in a day early if that's alright!

I will take half a pound after a big loss week! Happy Thanksgiving to those celebrating - I am so thankful for this group!!
@ashleycarole86 man oh man, you gotta get better!3 -
Happy Thanksgiving! 🦃
We are celebrating with family, however our big meal will be tomorrow. Makes it easier for people traveling. We are heading up to Virginia today though and having a light dinner tonight with anyone who is there now. I have a huge family. My mom is 1 of 10 and my dad is 1 of 8. I have 36 first cousins and now so many of them are having kids! I believe there will be close to 40 people tomorrow!
I went for a walk this morning and hope to do the same tomorrow. Have a great day everyone!1 -
@lauren_989 that is some big family indeed! I grew up in a tiny family and married into another. I have only one first cousin, and she never had children. Have a great time with the whole gang!
I have had a very quiet day, and decided it would be a completely OFF day. No worries about food (made cookies!), no serious exercise, plenty of lazing about. Tomorrow I will be inspired by this to track and move! At least we managed to get the car down the hill (although my taller half did all the work), and I'll be able to get out and about tomorrow. My new saddle was delivered today, so I will give that a thorough first ride tomorrow. Watch out Jasper!
My sister @EvMakesChanges and her partner travelled down to our Dad's to join him in his care home for Thanksgiving dinner - I am sure he enjoyed having company! I doubt that the food was as good as they would have cooked at home, but it is good to spend some time with the happy pappy. He loves visits and food, so he must have had a great day.
If any Friday weigh-in people who had a big feast today want to take tomorrow to recover, go ahead and weigh in on Saturday - but no later than that, ok? Here you all are:
@EvMakesChanges
@micki48
@wishfuljune
@Pearl4686

@jugar
I love your very practical attitude towards the OFF day, no guilt, no shame.. just understanding that after you take time off that you'll naturally want to get back to what you know makes you feel the best.
@Kali225
You're inspiring girl.. that half pound is worth a lot of celebration. Loving your check-ins and participation.. always great to have you here. Enjoy your Thanksgiving!
@lauren_989
Wow, I thought I had a big family, but that's only on one side of the family that I have so many cousins.. that's gonna be quite the get together. Enjoy making memories.
@EvMakesChanges Yay, enjoy your time with dad! I'm sure he'll be so thankful for your visit.
We have enjoyed a day of football. I took my dog for a walk - just under 20 minutes. That is asking a lot of my lungs right now. I'm in a super sneezy phase of my sickness so it's more annoyance than anything.
I only have full steps and exercise stats in week 3 from two of us - myself and @lauren_989
AND, I was really sick.
BUT, @lauren_989 deserves a call-out:
2 days at 2x pledge (and then some)
16% increase in movement over the week before
Bravo girl!
I'll see if I can improve on my week 4 - I certainly miss my movement. Dad's been here for almost a week and it's weird for him that he hasn't seen us on our Pelotons!4 -
